They say the mind is a black void. A huge void in which there's nothing until you decide to 'change the view.'
That's what Emerl saw when he opened his eyes. He grunts in pain as he stands up, holding his head with his hand. Looking around the place, it was black. "Where...am I?"
After that question he began to walk around, his footsteps echoing through the place. He didn't know how long he was walking, but he was getting bored...and hungry.
However, his efforts were rewarded when he noticed a faint glow not too far from his position. "Huh? What's that?" He began to jog forward, the light getting clear.
It was a blackish-red orb, glowing in a fire-like orange color.
"Huh...This is new." Emerl said as his hand slowly began to reach for it.
The moment his finger got inches away from the sphere, shit went loose.
"Kill!"
Emerl reels his hand back as a burst of demonic aura explodes from the orb. His eyes narrowed in fear before his body got pushed away. His body lost gravity and began to spin around uncontrollably.
"KiLl! MuRdEr! ErAdIcAtE! RaPe! DeStRoY! AnNiHiLaTe! KiLl! MuRdEr! ErAdIcAtE! RaPe! DeStRoY! AnNiHiLaTe! KiLl! MuRdEr! ErAdIcAtE! RaPe! DeStRoY! AnNiHiLaTe! KiLl! MuRdEr! ErAdIcAtE! RaPe! DeStRoY! AnNiHiLaTe! KiLl! MuRdEr! ErAdIcAtE! RaPe! DeStRoY! AnNiHiLaTe! KiLl! MuRdEr! ErAdIcAtE! RaPe! DeStRoY! AnNiHiLaTe! KiLl! MuRdEr! ErAdIcAtE! RaPe! DeStRoY! AnNiHiLaTe! KiLl! MuRdEr! ErAdIcAtE! RaPe! DeStRoY! AnNiHiLaTe! KiLl! MuRdEr! ErAdIcAtE! RaPe! DeStRoY! AnNiHiLaTe!"
Demonic voices began to bounce around the air. Saying the same thing over and over again. It was suffocating the assassin. "S-Stop…!" He roughly said, but the voices didn't stop. Even with his ears covered with his hands, his mind was already consumed by this dark presence.
Foggy visions began to form around him, and what he saw made him want to vomit in despair.
Sheele appeared, her body cut in half by Extase. Her face was expressed in terror.
"Sh-Sheele?" Emerl was horrified. Why was she there?
Holding to the purple-haired woman's right arm was Mine, an ice sword caved in her head. Her hair was a mess out of her usual twin-tail hair. Next, Chelsea's head was decapitated from her body, resting against the hideout's wall.
"Mine...Chelsea!"
Lubbock's body was slammed into ice spikes, puncturing his heart and lungs. Behind him was the Boss, her mechanic arm destroyed, and a hole right through her left eye. On her left hand was a broken magatama that resembled Susanoo's core.
"N-No…!"
Tatsumi's body was dismantled, and Incursio's armor smashed into pieces. Knives stab right on his arms and legs while blood drenches his face completely. Spear was encased inside a frozen cube, before a crack formed and destroyed her completely into a bloody mess.
"W-Why!?"
Finally, he saw the worst possible images he could have witnessed.
First, Leone was on the floor, her gorgeous body was covered with bloody holes, and her arms and legs were cut into pieces of flesh.
"Sis!"
Before he could do something, her body was replaced with Akame, Murasame embedded in her chest, the poison going through her body.
"Akame!"
He stretches his arm at her, only for her body to disperse into smoke, which then begins to mold itself.
The next thing he knew, a pain went through his shoulders. "Agh!" Looking at both sides, he saw two ice spikes stabbing through.
Those spikes retracted away and his blood began to gush out like water. It then started to rise into the air like tentacles, which began to group up together and expand. It grows and grows, to the point that Emerl's neck was hurting by looking at it. Once it was completely formed, a demonic face looked at the assassin. "MuRdEr! ErAdIcAtE! RaPe! DeStRoY! AnNiHiLaTe! KiLl!"
"Stop...it!" His words were like whispers. Not very effective.
"KiLl ThEm AlL!" The demon's face lunged forward and bit his left shoulder.
"GAHHHHHH!"
"Champ!"
A familiar voice made him flinch. He felt something wrap around and yank him away from the blood demon. The creature screams and shoots forward, only for a dark purple barrier to block its path and close itself around it.
The assassin felt himself let go and fell on the black-made floor, despairingly gasping for air in his lungs. "Oy! Champ! Are you with me?!"
"R-Rapture?" Emerl opens his eyes, seeing…
A familiar and old face.
"A...Ameri?"
Standing in front of him was the figure of a girl, covered in a dark purple substance. While it didn't have an accurate female body, the resembles were very close and her face was familiar to Emerl and only him.
"Don't hallucinate on me, Champ!" The voice of Rapture came out of the figure as they quickly began to form a barrier around them, just as black limbs began to bang on it, ice starting to form around. "I need you to focus!"
"R-Rapture?" Emerl whispered loudly. "W-What-?"
"Focus!" Rapture grunted. "I need help!"
Seeing that the limbs kept hitting the barrier, Emerl shook the fear off. "W-What do you need?!"
"Put your hands into this!" Rapture motion to the barrier. Emerl quickly placed his hands on it, "Start surging your strength into it! Together we can push this thing back!"
"O-Okay!" Emerl began to summon his power, his marks glowing purple again.
"RaAaAaAaGh!" The creature on the other side kept banging on the barrier. However, because there were two people now, the barrier grew and began to push the being, its ice cracking and turning into dust.
"Keep pushing!" Rapture shouted before starting to shout a defiant roar with Emerl.
The creature began to pound the make-barrier as it was pushed back. It continued for a long minute before the shield switched targets.
Instead of protecting the two of them from it, it was now 'protecting' it from them.
"Got you, you son of a bitch!" Rapture yelled as the shield surrounded the creature. Before it could do anything, the shield closed and shrunk into a ball-size prison.
Emerl dropped to his knees, breathing heavily. He used almost everything to push that thing away.
"Finally!" Rapture sagged around before flopping down. "I've been trying to contain that thing all night! I'm so tired!" It whined like a child before using a black whip to grab the sphere-caged monster.
Emerl regained strength in his feet to stand up and look at the thing that was supposed to be his Teigu. "That...That was Esdeath Teigu, wasn't it?"
There's no need to play around the bush.
"What gave that away?" Rapture spoke with a sarcastic tone. "The fact that it almost killed you, or the fact that it used ice?"
"No need to be sarcastic." Emerl sigh. "I guess I touch enough for the Teigu to be copied."
"Meh, whatever. You are right though." Rapture said while walking to a pedestal that was somehow there. "Luckily, it's just a tiny bit and not the entire Teigu. I was surprised."
"Is that why I couldn't contact you?" Emerl asked.
"Piece of shit took over before I could even sense it." Rapture scoffs in annoyance. "Before I could even do anything, it had already taken control of my communication with you. If it wasn't for Esdeath freezing you, I would have truly lost you."
Emerl froze for a moment. "Wait, what?" He looks at Rapture with an incredulous look. "Esdeath saved me?"
"I did not stutter." Even 'I' couldn't believe it.
How can someone who treats killing like a normal day save a life?
"...She truly does love me, huh?" Emerl concluded. I mean, the deep kiss should have been the first clue
"That she does...Anyways!" Rapture claps his hands, "We need to get back in business!"
"R-Right." The black-haired assassin nodded. "So...how long have I been out?"
"By the looks of it, I say... three days."
"Three fucking days?!" Emerl felt his eyes wanting to pop out from his sockets. "Ah fuck! Akame, Sis, and Sheele are going to kill me!" Literally! He can already see their eyes glowing in anger.
"Not forgetting that you are with Esdeath." Rapture pointed out with a raised finger.
"...Which brings me back to the fucking Empire." Emerl just wanted to pull his hair out. "This is not good. My previous escape was a random chance since I was with Wave, but this time, Esdeath is going to be like a Hawk!"
"Yeah. Either there is a mission that forces her to be separated from you, or you get 'lost' again, you ain't getting nowhere." Rapture said, shrugging its shoulders.
"It's going to be a pain." Emerl could already feel migraines forming inside his mind. "Was it the worst she could do while I'm here?"
"Other than trying to ride you like a horse? She would probably be with you every day."
"Since when do you speak in crude words?"
"Since I saw you fuck the kuudere, the One-sama, and the air headed into submission."
"..."
"..."
"...Please tell me that's not the only thing you do here."
"I'm your Goddamn blood vessel, consciousness, and Teigu. What the fuck am I supposed to do in here?"
Emerl just drops down with a depression hanging through his head. "It's neither my fault nor yours."
"Got a problem with me?" Rapture asked.
"Let's just stop and move to other important things." Emerl moved from the subject. "Like, how and why are you shaped like my missing sister?"
"..."
Emerl noticed that Rapture got quiet. Very quiet. Turning his head at the shadow-red Teigu, he saw that its face morphed into uncomfortable and worried. "Rapture...is there something you are not telling me?" It cringed a tiny bit.
"...Okay. Look, there," Rapture began to say, momentarily stopping before taking several deep breaths. "There's something I need to tell you, and you are not going to like it."
Emerl could already tell that it was right. He wasn't going to like it. "What is it?"
"So... Remember when I said I was born from Murasame's venom blending with your blood?" It began to fiddle its finger like a kid who knew it was going to get in trouble. "Well... That's not entirely true."
"...What?" Emerl looked at it, perplexed.
"I...I have always existed within you." Rapture confessed, shocking the raven-haired boy. "I didn't have complete strength nor the life to move or talk. I was just a simple vessel inside of you. Murasame's poison somehow gave enough strength to finally wake me up, but I wasn't a complete waste as I could muster myself a bit around. It's just that...it caused some effects on you."
"What do you mean 'effects'?" Emerl asked as he narrowed his eyes.
"...Like having realistic hallucinations of a sister that never existed?"
…
…
…
"...What?!"
"I'm saying that...I am Ameri."
The assassin felt his jaw dislocate itself as his pupils disappeared. That can't be!
"Yeah...Sorry for lying, Big Brother." Rapture stuck her tongue out and acted like a dumb child.
Emerl fell to his knees again, looking at the dark invisible floor as his mind tried to process what was just said. ('It can't...be...Ameri was always with me?! I venture for years to find her, and she was always with me?!')
Venture into the world to find her...but it meant nothing?!
And more importantly, 'Ameri' wasn't real!?
"Look, I understand that this isn't how it was supposed to be!" Rapture frantically waves its hand. "T-Technically, at the end, you managed to have a connection with me! We can say that it is 'finding' me!"
Emerl stood in his position for a while, trying to digest the information...until a thought crossed his mind. "Wait a minute…!" He raised his head to look at Rapture, "Then what about Pops?!"
Sure enough, he could remember the times he told his old man about Ameri.
"...That's...well-"
"Rapture!? Are you still hiding something from me?!" Emerl began to speak louder.
"N-Not by choice!" It said before covering its mouth in horror.
…
…
…
"...Choice?" Emerl began to stand up, his eyes twitching. "Someone told you...to keep quiet?"
"..."
Emerl shot his hand forward and grabbed Rapture's head, gripping tight. "...It was Pops, wasn't it?" He sounded like asking, but he didn't.
"...L-Look-"
"Answer me!"
"Ack! Yes! He did!" Rapture responded, "He kept quiet because at the time you were too young and naive! He wanted to wait until you were old enough to release me and explained everything! But they found him!"
"..." Emerl slowly released The Teigu from his grip, making the black living creature flop on the floor in pain. "...I see."
"Jesus H-C!" Rapture moans in agony. "I should have kept quiet! I think I'm having a migraine!"
Emerl simply ignored it. He needed to digest this bloody information through his brain, which is a lot since he had a triple combo attack of a headache just a few minutes ago. ('Pops knew...He knew about all this...Rapture, Ameri…') He thought as he went back to the past when his old man was still...in this world.
…
…
…
"...Sorry." Emerl suddenly said as he let a sigh out. "I...got a bit too emotional."
"Don't blame you." Rapture said.
"...Just why?" He asked, trying to understand all this. "Why didn't he at least tell me something?"
"...You weren't ready." Raptured answer in seriousness. "Having a Teigu is a harsh burden. It involves killing more than just animals...remember the first time you kill?"
"...He was robbing me...to help his family." Emerl replied with a hard look.
As he started his journey, he was attacked by a bandit. He had a sick smile of enjoyment as he tried to kill him. But Emerl was far more experienced than him. He ended his life in self-defense...the man's eyes were filled with horror as he subconsciously talked about his wife and kid before dying. That day, Emerl felt horror inside him. The man had a ring on his middle finger and a pouch with food that would last three days…
That was the second time he saw the horror of the real world.
"I didn't know what to do...I took a man's life without hesitation at first. Only to realize that he was just like me; someone with bad timing in the world." Emerl said. "Even so…We fought for survival, and the strong one was me."
"Exactly. Even if you were a good hunter, your emotions were frail." Rapture glared. "Your old man expected for this to occur should he not get the chance to explain…"
Yeah…That old man of his was a piece of work when it came to it.
Now that Emerl thinks about it…aside from being raised and loved, he didn't know who truly was this Pops of his. He was very knowledgeable about fighting and hunting…very scarily to be honest.
"...Rapture?" Emerl was looking down, his hair hiding his eyes as the living Teigu hummed at him to speak. "...What…am I?" That's the question he should have asked a long time ago.
So many things have happened to him…many of which no normal human could survive…
"Finally asked the damn question, eh?" Rapture said before standing up. "Honestly speaking...you Champ, are what you are, and that's all what you are."
"...What?"
Before he could question it, a bright light began to form, forcing him to cover his eyes. "Huh...Looks like you are finally waking up."
"What?! But I still have much to ask!"
"You are going to have to wait! Because this little ice fucker needs my attention for a while! Try not to die! Later, Champ!"
"Wait-"
*Flash!*
Emerl snapped his eyes open and stood up in a panic. As he breathed heavily, he looked around his surroundings. It was Esdeath's room...the General's room in the Empire. ('Shit...I know she would take me back, but damn it!') He turned to the sofa, seeing his stuff and clothes neatly tied.
He looked at himself, wearing only bandages on his body. ('The hell?') He touched his chest, feeling a tint of pain. ('Was I injured that bad?') He didn't remember getting cut.
Then again, he barely remembers anything at all after the cold and raspy voice.
*Crash*
His two eyes snapped at the sound, making him yelp, and turned to look at the source, seeing a surprised Seryu, a broken vase on the floor, and a wet Koro, who was in front and hand opening the door and receiving the vase.
"...Uhm…Hey…Nice to see…you?" Emerl nervously greeted.
Zoom! Squeak!*
"Ugh!" Emerl grunted in shock as the auburn-haired girl appeared in front of him and hugged hard.
"You are awake! I'm so relieved!" Seryu cried. "When the General came back with you in a cold prison and told us you almost died, I-I don't know why but…but!" Her words drowned in their sobbing as she held him tight.
('I…honestly don't know how to feel about this.') Emerl grunts in thought at the affection from the psycho-murdering girl. He suddenly felt a weight on his thigh. Looking at it, he saw Koro sitting on it, waving its hand like an innocent child with those eyes.
It is a terrifying thought that the thing was a weapon that can go Hulk-Smash in an instant.
Awkward, he waves at him before tapping Seryu, "Uhm…Seryu? I'm happy to see you too but can you…let go now?" Her amber eyes widened in realization as she quickly let go.
"Sorry! Please tell me I didn't break anything!" She asked with a blush of embarrassment while waving her hands.
"...No." Emerl sighs with a smile. "Don't worry, I'm quite durable."
"But not invincible!" Seryu shouted before glaring and pouting with tears in her eyes. "The General informs us! You almost died because of that stupid poison in your blood! You have to take care of yourself better!"
"Alright. Let's calm down a b…Hold on." Emerl was saying before his brain processed what she just said. "Poison?"
"Yeah! There was poison in your blood!" Seryu informs, making him widen. "Luckily, it was removed before it could spread on your body! The General herself made it her task to make sure you were healed up! She even patched you up from your wounds!"
"She did?" Emerl asked while thinking. ('Is this why Rapture said it would stay hidden? To not reveal itself to Esdeath?') It makes sense since she could have felt Rapture in him.
She can't learn about the Teigu. Not now.
On the other hand, it seems that Esdeath has a bit of medical knowledge.
Heh…She could be the Cold Surgeon of Death.
(Meanwhile, in another universe)
"Achoo!"
"Bless you, Captain!"
"Keep it down, Bepo."
"Sorry..."
(Back to our Universe)
"Ah! I need to inform the General! She has been sickly worried for you!" Seryu moves away and looks at his pet/weapon. "Koro! Let's go!" The dog saluted.
The hidden assassin widened in horror. "Seryu! Wait-" he reached his hand to stop her, but she already left the room. "Dammit. Once she gets here, she won't leave me." He sighed in resignation at knowing that Esdeath was making sure he didn't leave her sight, at least if he was alone. Even if he did stop Seryu, he was in no shape to move on his own without help.
So he is stuck…inside the castle in which several people who are hunted by the Revolutionary Army are.
Where the Prime Minister, the main target, is hiding.
This was neither good nor bad luck.
*BANG!*
"EMERL!" Esdeath's concerned voice enters the room as she slams hard the door open, causing Emerl to reel back in pain. Her icy eyes landed on the bed and she practically leaped from the door and into the bed, thankfully, next to it. She began to inspect him from face to bottom carefully before letting a small sigh out her lips…and began to pull hard on his cheek. "Young man, I do believe you have some explaining to do."
"Why the fuck are you hurting the guy that almost died?!" Emerl shouted in pain. "Esdeath! Let go! I just woke up-" She let go of his cheek, which snapped hardback in position. "Jesus! That hurts!" He said while holding his swollen and reddish cheek.
Only to find himself being hugged by the General.
"I…I wasn't sure if you would survive." Hurtness wasn't in her voice, but the concern was.
Emerl, even with the pain, was finding himself in surprise at her attitude. So, with confusion, he simply placed his hand on her back and caressed her. "...I'm fine…Thanks for the help."
"...Heh, strange that I'm like this." Esdeath commented, pulling away. "Is this what it means to love? Wanting not to lose something?"
"Well…is part of the emotion." Emerl replied, knowing how possessive both Akame and Leone, and very soon Sheele, can be. "When you…love something so much, you will do anything to not lose it."
"Hmmm, yes. I believe that statement is true." Esdeath nodded, finding nothing wrong with that logic.
"...Please don't sound like that's a good thing." Emerl sweat drop.
"Whatever you mean?" Esdeath tilted her head in confusion, earning more sweat from the hidden assassin.
"Nothing." He sighs as he changes the subject. "So, I was informed I was poisoned; care to explain that?" He asked, already creating a fake story.
"...So you had no idea?" Esdeath asked, narrowing her eyes.
"I mean, one moment you were talking about going out in another way, the next thing I know, I feel cold and then, I woke up here." Emerl motioned to the room, "Unless…you planned to poison me." He narrowed his eyes at her, making a story and throwing off any indications that he knew why he almost died.
"How cute of you to think I would do such despicable action to someone I love." Esdeath chuckled.
"You did sound mad when I told you I can't come with you, and have no intention of letting me go." Emerl deadpanned.
"That I did. If so, where and how did I acquire the poison, and when did I have the time to put it on you?"
"I mean, you could have found a poisonous item on the deserted island we were on. Knowing you, identifying any with lethal venom would be easy."
"Very good assumption. However, again, where would I have time to administer it to you?"
"Plenty actually, aside from the food because I could have told if it was poisonous or not." Emer suggested.
"And so, I shall accept your logic, but I stand by my statement; I won nothing by poisoning you, considering you almost died." Esdeath ended with a firm tone.
Seeing that she won't continue, Emerl sighs, "Very well. I will trust that." He began to stand up from the bed.
Only to be stopped by the cold General's hand. "And where are you going?" She asked.
"Bathroom." Emerl replied. "God knows I need a shower after two nights of constant sleep." He said as he tried to move once again.
"Ah, perfect." Esdeath said as she stood up. "You will need help cleaning your sweaty body." Emerl tense with a blush at that.
"That will be un-"
"Is not a request, love. Is an order." Esdeath has used her authority card.
"Well, you can shove the order right between your ass cheeks." Emerl replied as he moved her hand off his shoulder.
Only for her to resort to jumping into his back. "That is no way to speak to your superior." Esdeath, instead of feeling hurt, playfully pokes his cheek. "Perhaps I should start punishing you. To make you understand your…place~"
That was a flirt, right?
Emerl simply rolled his eyes. "My place is going to that room, take a bath, come out and get something to eat." He uses his strength to stand up, taking Esdeath with him on a piggyback ride. "But considering that you are as stubborn as a B-Class Hog Wart ( AU: Just a Warthog animal the size of a hippo. (AU2: Hog-Wart…wow, how cheesy of me.)) I guess I have no choice but to drag you with me."
"Uh~ Mutual showering after our reunion? We sure were mean to each other." Esdeath said in joy.
"Don't get your ego high. You're not the first one to take a shower with me."
"Hmm~ Then I'm sure I can…be more ~ satisfying~ than the rest~" she whispered in his ear.
Emerl trembled red at her cold breath. ('That…was probably the biggest hard-on whisper I had ever heard.') Blood rising after a cold whisper in the ear, what fucking kink is this? "You know, this is not a war battle-"
"But it is for your heart. One I will prove to be the best."
"Too late to be the best."
"...Who's the bitch, and what did she do?"
Emerl smirks at Esdeath's burst of annoyance and jealousy. "Wouldn't you like to know."
*Chomp!*
"Did you just bite me?!"
"Hmph! Get in the bath!"
"Don't change the subject!"
"Silence!"
"Apologize!"
"Make me!"
"Gladly!"
*Door slams hard*
( Later)
"Emerl! Is so good to see-What the?! Are you actually okay?!"
The hidden assassin, washed and clothed, groaned as his entire body felt sour as he made his way to the kitchen, being found by the rest of the Jaegers, except Seryu for some reason. Wave is the first to greet him, and feel concerned by his state.
"Hello Wave. Glad to see you again, and all of you." Emerl replied as he pushed his back, a sickening crack made everyone wince. "God, that bed made my back hurt." The fake story was delivered.
"Hmph. Weak." Kurome blankly said, eating her candy.
"Fuck you, virgin." Emerl flipped her off as he sat down.
"Here you go." Bols appeared next to him, delivering a cup of tea.
"Thanks Bols." Emerl accepted the cup and gave it a taste. "Hmm. You sure know how to make good tea. Excellent job."
"Thank you. I simply am glad that you have returned to us safe and sound." Bols said.
"That we must agree." Run smiled angelically at him. "We fear the worst has happened to you after saving Wave back in Famo. Luckily, it seems fate still has plans for you."
"I…don't think that fate is for my benefit, but thank you, Run." Emerl said as he turned to the marine boy. "Also, I must apologize, Wave. I heard what happened to you after my disappearance."
The poor boy seems to have a small PTSD before speaking. "D-Don't worry! It was my fault for not noticing that dangerous beast and failing to locate you when you fell!"
"Let's hope you don't lose your legs and throat next time. Moron." Kurome insult.
"Would you quit your trash talk?!"
Emerl shook his head with a chuckle. "So…ignoring Kurome's obvious disdain and Wave's bad luck, anything else has happened?" At that, the room became silent. "...I guess everyone is still processing from the doctor's secret?"
"So you have heard." Run sighs, displeasure, and sadness in his tone. "I do believe I'm speaking for all of us here, even though we didn't know him well nor we aren't horrifying at what he did; Stylish was still a member of the Jaegers."
"...I…I still can't believe that he was…so inhuman." Wave said, "I mean, he seems like a weirdo with a fetish for the human body. And I understand using criminals for his research, but this inhuman and what he did to Seryu's parents? I…I have never been in this kind of situation before."
"Still acting like a whiny baby." Kurome blankly replied.
"Kurome!" Bols scolds the girl, but before he can say more-
"I see what she is saying." Emerl spoke, making the rest look at him. "She's saying that Seryu should just accept reality and move on. If she stays crying forever, she will just carry on with remorse and pain. Instead of just crying for what happened, Seryu should use that to be stronger and make sure nothing like what has transpired to her happens again."
…
…
…
"...No. I just think she should just shut her crying and get back to work." Kurome replied.
"Yeah. And I'm a dreamless fool that wastes time eating drugged cookies all day." Emerl commented back.
On purpose or not, his comment made the rest raise an eyebrow, and importantly, the assassin of the Jaeger stopped eating from her bag momentarily before resuming eating.
"Anyways, that's what Seryu should be doing. Speaking of, where is she?" Emerl asked.
"Oh, she's in the training room." Wave said, "Now that the Doctor is gone, she needs to train her body and take care of her weapons. She's currently in the training room at the palace."
"Good." Emerl stood up and grabbed Wave by his shoulder. "Come, guide me there."
"Eh? You don't know-"
"Wave. I have been drag into this palace against my will and with no knowledge of what the fuck is this place and only got to see the kitchen, Esdeath's room, the planning room and, at most, the break room. You expect me to go to a place I don't know where it is?"
"F-Fair point." The marine sweat. "Then, let me take you there." He said as he and Emerl began to leave, saying goodbye to the rest.
Once out, Kurome looks at the door, narrowing her eyes at it. ('...Why did he say it like that?') she thought.
Nobody, not even in the group, should know that her snacks were laced with drugs to maintain her mentality. The Empire has done its best to maintain the information hidden well for years.
So why did a country hick hunter speak like he had figured out her medication?
('...The only ones who know are the General, my former teammates, and…') Kurome felt a smile creep into her face.
It seems that she might have found something 'interesting'.
Emerl hummed in interest at the open field Wave has brought him to.
Their training grounds were an open field, with several fields to fight. It was currently very deserted, with only one auburn-haired and a dog-like creature present. Seryu was busy cleaning a large drill-like spear while her Teigu was…following some butterflies.
"So…does the dog follow everything that moves to eat it or…?" Emerl randomly asks Wave.
"I…Don't even think anyone can answer that." Wave sweat drops.
"AH! Emerl!"
Both boys turned to see Seyru coming at them-Wait, wasn't she cleaning a large-size drill just a second ago? "How are you feeling?! You should really be moving?"
"Trust me…I had to move." Emerl replied with a death expression.
"Why? Was the bed that bad?" Wave asked, not understanding his look. "The General made sure that you were as comfortable as possible."
"Ha~" Emerl sighs. "Wave. You need to grow up."
"Huh?!"
"Anyways, I'm just here to see where you all usually train, since I won't be leaving this place anytime soon." Emerl said.
"So you are staying?!" Seryu asked in joy.
"Again, I won't be able to leave anytime soon." Emerl repeated.
"But do you need to leave so badly?" Wave asked. "I mean, you are in the Empire's main building. Where they train the best soldiers. It can benefit you."
Emerl simply looked at him with a pity look, "Best, huh?"
"Eh?"
"Oh! Would you like a tour?!" Seryu eagerly asked. "I know the best places to train!" She said as Coro suddenly began to pull Emerl's pants.
"...Sure." Emerl smiled at her. ('I could probably try to scout the building inside.')
"Alright!" Before he knew it, his hand was grabbed and Seryu began to pull him away, Coro holding on to his leg like a koala. "Later, Wave!"
Wave simply blinked at them leaving a weak wave (Ha!) as his mind went back to what Emerl had said to him. ('Grow up?')
What did he imply by that? And why did he look at him in pity?
Was…there something he did not understand?
*Agonizing raising the hand from the cold hardened ground *
"I LIVEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
