Author's Notes;
-Whew. Finally done. (At least with this chapter.) Also, sorry about the large gap between ch. 16 and 17. Real life can be a pain.
-You might also be wondering why the change in the episode/chapter titles. Well, that's because I wanted to do things a little bit differently. With Loki the bunny not stolen by the Goths, I felt the title needed a change. It also gives more ambiguity as to who will be eliminated. Will it be Father and Son, The Surfers or someone else entirely?
-Alright, that's enough of my rambling. You came here for the continuation of a story.
"You're not getting this until you tell me why you were so concerned about Mickey during the last challenge." Emma remarked.
Kitty gasped, looking nervously.
Geoff shrugged as he ate the green pepper. "I can barely taste it."
Suddenly his eyes went wide and his hat literally flipped over before he coughed up some green pepper dust.
He waved a flag. "Go, bro!"
Brody cheered as he jumped off the cliff, a small piece of toilet paper stuck to his shoe.
Jacques ate a medium pepper.
"Tres chaud, tres chaud! Oh ma mere…!" Jacques exclaimed before murmuring to himself.
Crimson took a hot pepper.
"Ow." she flatly remarked before waving the red flag.
Ennui jumped with an unenthusiastic "Wee…".
Sanders stuck her hand above the water and the canteen was immediately snatched.
The brute cop took several glugs of milk. "Finally!"
MacArthur continued drinking as Sanders read the tip. "It's an all-in. 'Burrowed alive?'"
Don demonstrated the challenge, standing in a corral before switching to a digital map and then him at a temple.
"Teams must take burros from this enclosure and ride them two miles south, to this Mayan Temple, the chill zone for today's race. The last team to arrive may end up like the Mayans who once lived here- not on television! Ha!"
Back at the beach, Sanders high-fived her partner. "First place all the way!"
"Go Cadets!" MacArthur cheered before drinking more milk.
Interview; The Cadets
"We're the perfect team." MacArthur began. "I do all the hard stuff and she brings me refreshments."
Sanders looked at her, subtly disappointed.
End Interview
Meanwhile, Kitty was still burning up from the heat. She struggled to think.
"Oh look, Noah's here!" Kitty cried out, pointing to a spot on the beach.
Emma turned around, all excited. "Really? Where?"
Kitty swiped the canteen and began drinking. Emma glared at her sister upon realizing that she lied.
"Sorry, must have been the heat. Quickly, we need to get some burros!"
Kitty ran forward, a disgruntled Emma behind her.
Soon Josee jumped down like a swan diver.
"Bravo Josee! You are perfection!" Jacques cheered.
Josee waved to her fans watching from afar before diving down to retrieve a canteen. Jay was shown pulling off a fish, his left hand with visible bite marks as Josee saw something red reflected in her eye. She turned one of the canteens over and chuckled as she had found the boomerang.
"Canteen dude!" Brody cheered as he came up on the beach.
"Oh no, not again…"
Geoff ran off to try and relieve himself.
The scene switched to the Cadets, the camera panning down from the afternoon sun.
"Faster stallion, faster!" MacArthur commanded.
"It's not a stallion, it's a burro." Sanders corrected.
"I know that, but he doesn't. He could be cheetah fast!" her partner argued. "You just have to distill some confidence."
"Instill and it's not gonna make a difference."
"Hi-yah, giddy up!"
Suddenly her burro went faster.
"Yeehaw! Wahoo! I told you!" MacArthur cheered.
"Just a coincidence!" Sanders called from afar.
Josee showed the boomerang to her partner as he drank the milk.
"So, who do we pick?" Jacques softly asked.
"The Goths, Sisters and the Cadets have already left. The Twins are bad luck, but they'll probably take themselves out."
Geoff and Brody's farts and groaning were heard from afar as Josee gagged in disgust.
"Same for The Surfers. And that pathetic Father and Son duo is already cursed." Josee smirked. "Let's bring them to their knees."
Junior came up to his father, handing them the milk canteen. He began drinking as Josee came up to them, his red, semi-blinded eyes in view.
"Did your dad ever get the milk and come back? Because this time he'll have to!" Josee quickly held the Boomerang and pointed it squarely at Dwayne. "Boomerang!"
"What?!" they both exclaimed.
"What's happening?!" Dwayne questioned in worry.
"Oh… this is going to seriously bite…." Junior remarked.
Josee laughed as they ran to the Burro enclosure, got on their burros, jumped over the fence and ran off.
The scene switched to the Goths riding their burros, with Loki sitting in front of Crimson. Suddenly Loki hopped over to Ennui.
"What is it Loki?"
Loki jumped up to his head. A few moments of silence passed before Ennui repressed a growl.
Crimson asked, "What did he say?"
"He says the Ice Dancers tried to steal him from us. Strange that the Twins' bad luck inadvertently stopped them."
"I'm not surprised. Their hearts are cold and hollow."
"I know there are worse people out there, but it doesn't change the fact that the Ice Dancers are cold and cruel." Ennui concluded.
"And they look at us like we're freaks and monsters."
"Don't worry Crimson. He'll see that he was wrong soon enough."
The scene turned to the Sisters riding their burros at a modest pace.
"Mexico is nice, but they could really use some lemonade standards." Kitty remarked.
Soon the Ice Dancers quickly passed them, much to Emma's shock.
"How did they…?! Hurry up Kitty!"
Interview; Ice Dancers
Josee gestured to her thighs. "Skater quads are excellent for horseback riding. A strong consistent thigh squeeze says, 'Giddy up, fleabag.'"
End Interview
Jay was shown swimming around and surfacing with a canteen. He gave it to Mickey, drinking a small amount.
The older twin looked up in surprise as he saw Dwayne trying to climb the ladder. "You're still here?"
"The Ice Dancers boomeranged us. So now there's an empty canteen we have to retrieve. I'd eat the hottest one but dad already had all the milk from earlier. We're so doomed…"
Jay and Mickey looked at each other.
"Here, have the rest of this." Mickey handed the canteen to Junior. "I'm not really supposed to drink too much milk anyway."
Junior looked at him, momentarily speechless. "Wow, um thanks."
"You're welcome."
"I know it's… rather late in the game, but… Maybe we can form an alliance? If you're not eliminated by the end of this challenge?"
"Sure. Can't hurt anything." Jay remarked.
Mickey smiled at this, knowing how far they had come.
"Well, good luck to you."
The twins ran off to find burros as the scene switched back to the Surfers.
"Jeff, Jeff!" Brody called out.
Geoff was shown lying on the ground, defeated. "I've been betrayed by burritos."
The scene switched to the Cadets, with one of the burros having stopped for a rest.
"Get up, it's just a stinking bridge!" MacArthur ordered.
The burro didn't oblige.
"That's it- it's taser time."
She brought up said device as Sanders looked aghast.
"You brought a taser?! How did you get that through customs?!"
"Do you really want the answer?" MacArthur asked.
Suddenly, the Ice Dancers sped by them.
"See you at the finish line!" Josee taunted.
The burro went from sitting to lying on the ground.
Not long thereafter, the Ice Dancers made it to the carpet of completion.
Don looked at them. "Ice Dancers, surprised to say this, but you're in first place. Congratulations."
"Finally. The golden spotlight, back where we belong!" Josee cheered.
Sanders was shown moving her burro along before reaching the carpet.
"Um, you seem to be missing one loud, aggressive partner," Don mentioned.
The voice of reason looked back at her partner in crime fighting. "MacArthur, hurry up! We're burning daylight!"
"Okay, donkey. WAKE UP!" MacArthur commanded.
The twins were shown riding their burros down the long, long path.
"Is there any way to get them to go faster?" Mickey asked.
"I don't think so. They're just donkeys." Jay remarked.
Mickey dug his shoe into his burro's side. "Giddy-uuuppp!"
The burro took off at a surprising pace. "Woah!"
"Mickey!"
Jay did the same thing, exclaiming in surprise and trying his best to hold on.
Back at the bridge, MacArthur picked up her burro and started carrying it. "Come on, glue pot. Almost there."
MacArthur soon collapsed onto the carpet, the burro on top of her.
"Second place." Don announced.
"Whew." Sanders cheered.
MacArthur burped. "Well, that was spicy."
Interview; The Cadets
"That thrice-cursed burro. We were so close…" MacArthur complained. "Next round, those Ice Dancers are going down."
"We would have won if you hadn't pushed the burro so hard. But yes, they deserve to go down." Sanders commented.
End Interview
The Sisters were shown at the carpet of completion, now wearing some Mexican hats.
"Sisters, you're in third." Don announced.
"Alright!" Emma cheered.
With Crimson and Ennui following shortly behind them.
"Goths, you're in fourth."
"Woohoo." Crimson flatly stated.
A brief montage was shown in a split-screen consisting of; the twins riding the burros, the surfers suffering from tummy issues, and Dwayne climbing up the mountain with the ladder.
"As more teams reach the chill zone, Father and Son, the Twins and the Surfers try to catch up."
Don turned as he heard some concerning sounds. The twins' screaming became louder and more apparent as the lens shifted to them holding on tight to their burros before coming to a sudden stop. The twins were sent flying and landed on the carpet…
"Oh…" they groaned.
As the burros ran past them.
"Mickey and Jay, fifth place!"
"Whew! We did it!"
The twins were shown with scrapes along their arms and dirt on their jerseys.
Mickey got up, revealing he had lost another tooth in the dirt. "Ow… I think I lost a tooth…"
"Medic?!" Jay asked.
Dwayne was shown with a canteen in his hands as they completed the challenge for the second time. Junior drank the milk the twins gave him, gulping down whatever was left.
"Let's move!"
The final two teams were shown heading towards the chill zone, the Surfers riding their boros and Dwayne trying to get onto one before being tossed off.
The scene showed The Surfers and Father and Son quickly barreling towards the chill zone.
"It all comes down to this, which team will beat the Mexican heat?"
Geoff tried to hold back vomit as they ran.
Dwayne looked increasingly nervous as they got closer.
Closer…
…
Yet ever closer…
Until…
A pair of burros was shown on the carpet.
The camera zoomed up to reveal Father and Son there, the former panting.
"Dwayne and Junior, you're sixth place!" Don announced.
"Wahoo!" They both cheered.
With Junior adding, "We made it!"
The two dismounted and ran offscreen.
A few seconds later, the Surfers appeared.
"Surfer Dudes, sorry to say this, but you're in last place."
Brody groaned. "Aw… I feared this would happen. Beaten by burritos."
Geoff threw up into his hat, much to the host's disgust. "This is a real bummer…"
"Eugh, clean up on aisle two!" Don called.
Not long thereafter, the Surfers were preparing to leave. Mickey was shown in the background being looked at by a dental assistant.
Brody looked at the Cadets, the brute cop he loved now holding a pink drink in hand. "MacArthur, you have to go on without me!"
"Cool beans, will do."
She continued sipping her drink as she and Sanders walked away. "It'll be hard but know that I'm cheering you on!"
"Can't hear you, too busy moving on!" MacArthur called to him offscreen.
"Want to know who's going next?" Don asked. "Keep watching- the Ridonculous Race!"
The scene showed the Surfers time on the show; Brody posing for a picture, Brody being spat out of a shark, the two hugging after winning the Hawaian wedding challenge, bungee-jumping around, walking on coals, piloting a go-kart, and Brody putting his arm around a smirking MacArthur while Sanders stood there looking at Geoff. The montage ended after showing the Surfers skiing through the Arctic Circle.
"We're bummed to leave, but I think we can be proud of ourselves. We played a clean game." Brody remarked.
"We had a blast!" Geoff declared. "Walking on hot coals, riding dune buggies and made some wicked friends. And that's sweeter than cash."
The scene turned to them walking away from the camera, Geoff's arm around his friend.
"Come on dude, let's go home and surf it off."
"Yeah dude."
