Prompto, Tifa, Lann and Reynn were exploring together through their current area to search. They had to clear out any beasts or monsters they saw as well as trying to gather food if possible. The group had been walking for some time now, only having a few short battles with occasional savage beasts.

"Are we going to find food yet?" Lann whined. "I'm starving!"

"We've already found some apples from that small forest a little ways back, as well as some meat from a few of the beasts," Tifa explained. "I'm sure if we keep looking we can find more."

"But I'm hungry now. What if I starve and die!" Lann explained.

"You aren't going to die," Prompto laughed.

"You don't know that! I totally could!" Lann protested.

"Don't get Lann started! He'll have you arguing for hours," Reynn sighed.

Tifa suddenly interrupted the conversation before it could go any further. "Hey wait a minute! I hear something!"

The other three turned their attention to Tifa, and then to the area around them. Monsters could be heard roaring and screeching in the distance.

"You think someone's out there fighting? Maybe someone from one of our worlds?" Prompto asked.

"Only one way to find out, come on!" Tifa said as she started to run.

The other three followed quickly behind her, running as fast as they could to keep up. Magic could be seen as they neared the near area, along with several large wolves surrounding a young looking man with red hair. The closer the group got, they could also see that he sported cat-like ears and a tail.

"Whoa! He's a cat like Y'stola!" Lann exclaimed.

"It's Y'shtola and they aren't cats," Reynn scolded.

"Right! I totally knew that!"

"No you didn't!"

"Guys! Argue later! We gotta help this guy!"

The four ran up alongside the man and readied their weapons. He only took a few glances at them before returning to casting his magic. With the five of them all fighting together, it wasn't long before the wolves were all slain.

The young man turned to face the group afterwards, bowing his head respectively. "I give you many thanks for helping me. I didn't expect to find anyone here aside from myself."

"Well, we always keep our eyes open for others. People tend to show up all over the place nowadays," Prompto replied.

"Well, I still wish to give thanks. But may I ask just who you are?" he asked as he looked between the group, his head tilting when he saw Lann and Reynn. "You two are by far the strangest Lalafells I have ever seen."

"Lalafells?" Reynn asked. "I think you're mistaken."

Lann looked at his sister. "You don't think we could be? Lilikin also starts with 'L'."

"But that doesn't make us the same!" Reynn sighed.

The man's ears twitched. "Oh? My apologies. Perhaps I truly am someplace else, one where things are rather different than what I've come to expect."

Prompto laughed. "Yeah, you could say that. But you're in luck! We're all kind of from different worlds, but we know some guys from your world."

"You have? May I inquire as to who they are?"

"We know someone named Y'shtola. She's like you with the, uh you know…" Tifa commented as she pointed to the man's ears.

"Oh! Y'shtola is here as well? Are there any other Scions?"

"Scions? Uh, don't know what that is, but there's also Thancred, Lyse, Papalymo, and the twins Alisaie and Alphinaud," Prompto replied.

"Oh! 'Tis heartening to hear that I'm not alone in this new endeavor! I must see them at once! And let me take the moment to properly introduce myself. G'raha Tia at your service," he said as he gave a thumbs up to the group.

"We can bring you back to them if you want, I'm sure they'd be happy to see you," Tifa offered.

"I'd like that very much," G'raha replied. "Show me the way, and please explain to me what all of this is about. I feel I have much to learn."

By the time they got back to the ship, the group had managed to explain everything they could to G'raha. He took it all rather well, as well as finding all of the information fascinating.

"How this world functions… it is rather intriguing… especially what you've said happened before everyone became scattered."

"Yeah, but we are working on getting everyone back together!" Lann replied cheerfully.

"And I will commend all of you for your hard work. No doubt the trails you have endured were strenuous. But for great warriors like yourselves, you keep persevering."

"Oh, just so you know, your friends may or may not have all their memories. Or, at least, I am guessing they may not have them all, it's happened a lot before," Prompto explained quickly.

G'raha bowed his head. "I shall be sure to take it easy as I approach, regardless, I thank you."

Walking ahead of the others, G'raha started to look around the ship, trying to see where he could spot those who he called his friends.

It only took him a few moments to recognize a few familiar faces. Taking a deep breath he moved to speak with them, while holding back his thoughts and feelings until he could get a read on the situation before him.

Few seconds passed before all eyes were focused on him. Y'shtola was the first to notice and approach him, offering a friendly gesture.

"Welcome, I take it you've recently found yourself here?"

G'raha nodded. "Yes, it was quite miraculous, but now that I'm here, 'tis heartening to find so many others with the same experience."

"And you are…?" Thancred asked.

G'raha adjusted himself and straightened his back. "G'raha Tia, at your service."

"It's nice to meet you, G'raha!" Lyse replied cheerfully.

None of them reacted as if they recognized him at all, it was clear that they lacked more memories than he expected.

Regardless, he was alongside friends, and he would bask in the time he had in this strange world. And if there ever came a moment where their memories returned, he would be more than happy to discuss it with them.

"That's a cool staff you got there."

G'raha turned to his side, seeing one of the young men from another world. "Oh, thank you. And I don't believe we've been properly introduced. You may have heard, but my name is G'raha Tia."

"Noctis," the man replied.

"A pleasure. And as for the staff, it is quite unique in its origins," G'raha said, holding it up for Noctis to inspect.

"How so?"

"In my world, there was an ancient and mysterious structure called the Crystal Tower. Rather mysterious place, but this piece of crystal comes from that. There's a longer story, but I wouldn't think to bore you with that."

"Crystals, huh? Always seems to be a lot of that in everyone's worlds," Noctis commented.

"Did you have an experience with crystals as well?"

Noctis shrugged. "Something like that, though I can't say it was a good one."

G'raha looked at Noctis curiously. "How so?"

"Let's just say I needed to gain some power from it, and I ended up sleeping to get it… Sleeping longer than I would have wanted."

Now, G'raha found himself even more curious. "Sleeping to gain power from a crystal?"

"Yeah… I didn't even know how much time had passed until someone told me."

A familiar memory tugged at the back of G'raha's mind, of an experience he had long ago.

"It may be hard to believe, but I understand how you feel. When I entered the crystal tower, I spent decades and even centuries asleep within."

"Centuries? Geez, and I thought ten years was bad enough."

G'raha chuckled. "But we both returned, didn't we?"

Noctis nodded slowly. "Yeah, we did."

"Do you want to talk about it? If not, I'd like to ask some questions of my own, there are so many fascinating things I'd like to hear of the other worlds."

"Well, funnily enough, I think I visited your world once. Eorzea, right?"

G'raha's ears gave a little twitch. "Have you really?"

"I used to think it was just a dream, but after coming here and seeing everything that I have, it sort of just came back to me."

A million thoughts began running through G'raha's mind and he stroked his chin. The world he was in had altered his perspective on what he knew about his own world and its sundered shards, as well as its past timeline. But the thought of someone else from outside visiting his world before? It brought up so many questions.

"Would you mind telling me about it? It sounds like a truly fascinating story."

"Well, to start, I had been battling this bird lady Garuda who was brought from your world. Somehow ended up in Eorzea and ran into this cat girl. Uh, I forgot her name, but she had this purple hair and wore like knights armor."

G'raha's tail started to sway and his ears perked up. "By chance would you mean Peony?"

Noctis nodded. "Yeah! You know her?"

G'raha grinned widely. "She is very well known in my world, and a very good friend as well. Now please, tell me all of your story!"

DFFOO may be shutting down but I will continue my series!
