-ONE SHOT-
Naruto Uzumaki could always look back to his mission to the Village Hidden Among Stars fondly. Not only because he made some great new friends, but also because that was the very same mission where he met his future wife to be. At the time Hokuto was just a fair skinned girl with freckles along with having brown hair in a high ponytail and indigo eyes. She wore a light pink blouse with a turquoise, red patterned dress over it, and for her bottom attire she had light pink chaps that revealed her thighs and brown sandals. She also wore her village's forehead protector across her forehead which was typical for most shinobi.
Funnily enough their first meeting involved her nearly choking him out with her village's most coveted technique at the time known as the mysterious peacock method. Thankfully he'd been able to free himself with a little distraction from her teammate and the end result was her falling from her high up perch and landing right on her butt. Once it became clear he wasn't a threat she apologized immediately, and it also became apparent that their little scuffle caused her to flatten the snack cake he'd been saving with her rear end. Another thing she apologized for, but it wasn't that big of deal. It was still delicious even crushed.
Crazy to think that was the start of their romance, strangulation and snack cake. That was certainly a story to tell the kids when they asked how the two of them met. To think that was nearly twenty years ago. Where did the time go. After the mission was done and the day was saved, they kept in touch via letters back and forth. They could talk about almost anything really from their everyday lives to the weather outside. They just got on so well that anyone who didn't know the pair would've assumed they'd known each other for years. Even after the Sasuke incident and the training trip with pervy sage, they still kept writing.
Eventually two years passed before Naruto finally returned home from his training trip and he was beyond surprised to see how much his friends and village had changed. He was even more surprised to find two other guests present in the Hidden Leaf. One of them was Gaara's sister Temari from the Hidden Sand Village, and the other was none other than Hokuto. He was so surprised to see her and while she still looked more or less the same there were a few key differences. For example, she'd definitely undergone a grown spurt like he had, putting her a little taller than his teammate Sakura at around five foot-four.
She'd also grown in... other areas as well and seemed to be developing some very nice curves where it mattered most. Overall, she was just as cute as he remembered from back then, but he could also tell she was a lot more deadly at the same time. Whatever training she was doing must've really been paying off. No doubt she would show him when the timing was right. That went both ways too as he was also eager to show her how much stronger he'd become. Little did he know she was also noticing how much he'd changed in a physical sense from the last time she'd seen him.
He still had his spikey blonde hair and whisker-like birthmarks on his cheeks but gone was his original orange and blue jacket with the white collar and white swirl with a tassel on the left side, and a red Uzumaki crest on the back. Now he had a new variation that was toned down just a bit and in place of the blue was black. He kept the all-orange pants with a shuriken holster on his right knee, with black shinobi sandals, and a new black forehead protector but the same symbol from the old one given to him by his teacher for finally graduating from the academy.
From there the two talked, hung out, went on the odd mission together, and even had one or two dates, much to the shock of some of his friends. She even helped to support him along with others in his darkest hours like when he lost his sensei or when the Akatsuki came for him and the nine-tails. Hell, she even stood by him when the fourth great ninja war was in full swing. Needless to say, that was a very difficult time for everyone. But things did settle down soon enough with the Akatsuki gone, Madara defeated, and Kaguya sealed once more. It was a time of recovery and relative peace.
He'd managed to bring his other teammate and brother in all but blood, Sasuke back home like he promised, and managed to the whole ninja world. Not bad for the Hidden Leaf Village's own number one hyperactive knucklehead ninja. The days came and went, as well as the years, and there was even a mission to the moon in that time. Then the days came where friends became more than friends and marriage proposal were abound. Naruto and Hokuto were no different and he felt like he was on top of the world when he proposed to his girlfriend atop the Hokage faces where they had their little picnic/dinner.
Everyone was happy for them, even Hinata who'd had a crush on him since forever. He was so happy she was able to find her own happiness with Kiba after he went through hell to help save her. Not many people can say their lover went all the way to the moon just to help rescue them. What followed was a wedding for the ages. Practically everyone the couple knew was in attendance and the warm feeling they got when rings and vows were exchanged. Not to mention that kiss. They'd kissed plenty of times but that one felt different. It was different. That was their very first kiss as an officially married couple.
A few years later down the road Hokuto fell pregnant, and it was without question the happiest moment of their lives up to that point before the twins were born. Everything was wonderful. And finally, the cherry atop the Sunday came when Naruto finally fulfilled his dream. He'd finally become the seventh Hokage of the Hidden Leaf Village, passed down to him personally by Lord Sixth. Kakashi couldn't give him the hat quick enough, something that made Hokuto laugh. Naruto sighed from behind his desk at Hokage tower. He'd gotten caught up reminiscing again when he still had paperwork to do.
He turned his attention towards the two large stacks of paper that were mocking him with their height. How his father, the old man, and Grandma Tsunade did this for years on end he'll never know. He couldn't rightly ask the first two and the Slug Princess and Copy Ninja wouldn't tell him. Traitors the both of them. His thoughts were interrupted by a knocking at his door, and he wholeheartedly welcomed the distraction from the vile stacks of paper. "Come in."
The door opened to reveal an all too familiar sight, his wife, now pretty much retired but still on the reserved list if she were ever really needed. Her attire was a lot more casual now with a pink sweater and black skirt, complete with black open-toed shinobi boots. She also had her hair down, a style she'd been trying our recently. She was just as gorgeous as ever and in her hand was a bag, the contests of which he could smell from his desk. "Special delivery."
She walked over to his desk and gently placed the care package down, careful to avoid knocking over the cruel paperwork that kept her husband after dark. She knew they were important but some days she just wanted to march in and light them all on fire. Or just tell Shikamaru and Shizune to stop delivering them. She wanted to cuddle with her hubby at night, not his pillow... even if it did smell like him. The blonde chuckled a bit before standing up to stretch his legs.
"Thanks, it really means a lot." He spoke before swinging around his desk to pull his wife into hug. He was just about to kiss her before she reminded him that his ANBU were present and watching them. "Let them watch."
The way he said that made her blush and she just decided to say screw it. The two shared a warm and tender kiss in the office which also caused the hidden ninja to blush beneath their masks. When the pair finally broke apart both of their cheeks were red.
"I really needed that." Naruto admitted as he rubbed the back of his head.
"Hopefully that's more than enough incentive to finish this paperwork off." Hokuto giggled. "Seriously though, how did the others not get swamped by it?"
"Grandma Tsunade and Kakashi-Sensei won't tell me." The Seventh Hokage grumbled.
"Traitors." The brunette muttered her breath. Now it was Naruto's turn to giggle.
"I love you so much, you know that, right." He smiled.
"I love you more." Hokuto playfully challenged.
"Not possible." The blonde grinned.
His wife playfully hummed before whispering in his ear. Naruto's eyes widened and Hokuto grew a devious smirk. "That's only if you finish in time."
Naruto was back at his desk so quick the ANBU would've thought he recreated the Flying Thunder God technique. Their Kage looked reinvigorated, and he was doing his best to scan through papers as fast as he could and sign them with just as much speed.
The former Hidden Star ninja smiled warmly as she watched her husband work. "I'll see you later."
"If I have my way, you will." Naruto stated without looking away from the stack he was battling.
She really hoped so. It had been a while for them both and with twins spending the night at Shikadai's house... if he didn't defeat that paperwork and get into bed with her, Kage or not, heads were gonna roll. With her peace said, Hokuto left the office and shut the door behind her. She bid her husband receptionist farewell before rejoining the rest of the village on the streets. The sun was out, the shops were busy, and the day was hers for the taking. First, she'd stop by the Yamanaka Flower Shop, then that new candle place downtown, and then there was that desert shop that sold those cakes she liked. Oh, she could hardly wait.
With a plan in mind, Hokuto set out to tackle the rest of the day and prepare for the night.
FIN!
Author's Notes: That's it for this little one-shot between Naruto and filler girl Hokuto from the Village Hidden Among Stars. I don't really see all that many stories about this pairing and they had a pretty cute moment together in the one filler arc she showed up in. Hopefully this didn't come out poorly. Anyway, have an awesome December and feel free to let me know what you all think.
