Review Response:

Paulcrash: I do believe you know why he is here.

ShadowBloodedge9396: Mittelt will overcome her troubles, and yes, Asia holding Fox Naruto is adorable.

Nathair1: I hope this chapter is interesting, because it is more set up. Hopefully, next chapter has some payoff.

Guest: Thank you, I will.

Vongola Ninja: She would be intimidated, and feel sad for the poor doctor for sure. His story really is sad. Well, it isn't that he believes she has the secrets, but… you'll see what he does. Mittelt will avoid them as long as possible. No, Naruto has no familiar. He kinda doesn't NEED one since he is basically a hunter himself, BUT the in-joke I made with my editors is Naruto is so strong… no familiar approaches him. BUT, Ravel's Hellhound, Loona, is kinda like a familiar since she loves him.

Borello: Thank you.

Redmen6blight: Sup, been a while. Yeah, I'm happy Mittelt survived and that idea with Kokabiel using them would be a good idea, and it would mentally break Mittelt later on.

Chapter 47: Old Legend

"ISSEI TRIED TO GET A FUCKING SLIME!" Naruto laughed, holding his stomach while he could not contain his joy as he did his best to not drop his phone.

It was absolutely ludicrous.

Koneko sighed over the phone.

It had been a few hours after the last of the sport events, and Koneko was not to happy due to her school uniform being partially dissolved by the slime Issei wanted.

"Asia got a cute dragon." Koneko continued as Naruto's laughter quieted down. "It outright hates Hyoudo."

"Awesome…" Naruto said, wiping tears from his eyes.

"Anyway, Naruto, I was wondering if tomorrow you and I could go out?" Koneko asked, feeling nervous.

"Sure, can we meet up in the afternoon?" Naruto asked, making Koneko quirk an eyebrow.

Usually, Naruto would want Koneko to come over as soon as possible.

"Yeah, but why?"

"Sona is taking me out for ramen to repay me for refereeing."

Koneko deadpanned.

"Can I join?"

"Uh… maybe, let me text Sona…"

Koneko patiently waited, hearing Naruto's fingers on his phone while he texted Sona.

A minute or two passed before Naruto sighed.

"Sorry, Sona said she would prefer it if you didn't. Money and all that." Naruto explained.

"I have money to help pay!" Koneko urged.

She heard Naruto texting again.

"Sona says that is fine if you also pay for half of my meal too."

"Deal!"

Skip, Sunday Morning…

It was a bit of a gray day.

Clouds covering the sky, rain dripping from them.

Naruto was currently tying his shoes.

His ears twitched when he heard someone behind him, causing him to turn.

"Oh, Mi...randa?"

"Mittelt, actually." The fallen corrected.

"Oh, sorry." Naruto said as he stood up.

Mittelt had been with Ravel's peerage for two weeks now… and she avoided Naruto like the plague.

"Where are you going this early?" Mittelt asked as Naruto tossed on a jacket before grabbing an umbrella.

"I'm going to meet Sona so she can take me out for ramen." Naruto explained, heading toward the door.

"What is ramen?" Mittelt asked before Naruto could say good bye.

Naruto froze.

"You've never heard of ramen?" He asked in disbelief.

Mittelt shook her head.

Skip…

"Wow, kid." The shopkeeper said, whistling with a cocky smirk. "You have an honest to God harem now."

Indeed, Naruto sat at the ramen bar with Sona, Koneko, and Mittelt next to him.

"We aren't in a relationship." Naruto said as he looked at the menu, already having an idea on what to order. "Anyway, the blonde one never had ramen, so I brought her here."

The shopkeeper laughed heartily, eyes in the yen sign as he could see the money he was about to make.

Sona felt like hitting Naruto.

Inviting Koneko was one thing, but bringing Mittelt without asking was a bit much.

"Mittelt!" the fallen stated, not liking the fact he wasn't using her name.

Koneko snickered, not bothering in hiding it.

Much to the Fallen's chagrin.

Making their orders, Naruto drank some water, looking over his shoulder.

The ramen bar had an open door, showing how stormy the weather was becoming.

"Man, it's getting bad…" Naruto stated, putting his cup down.

"Yeah…" Koneko agreed.

"Let's make this fast then…" Sona said unsurely.

Mittelt nodded.

"So, anyone looking forward to the upcoming club hunt?" Naruto asked as he patiently waited for his ramen, a dopey smile on his face.

"I am not searching for anyone," Sona stated, pushing up her glasses. "I have my peerage filling all necessary positions."

"The ORC is just a cover, Naruto. You know that." Koneko told him, feeling like he was kind of off with that question.

"Yeah, I know, but won't the school get suspicious? I mean, the YOC includes myself, Sai, and Ravel, so we probably do need some more members to not get closed down…" Naruto answered.

"Don't worry, I'll keep the club safe." Sona told him.

Mittelt giggled.

"What's funny?" Koneko asked, curious.

"It's just…" Mittelt said with a bright smile, something Naruto hasn't seen her do yet. "I didn't think the fierce Fox that defeated Raynare was just a normal teenager."

Naruto deadpanned.

"Of course, I am not." Naruto stated with pride. "I am…"

"Order Up."

Naruto felt silent as he clapped his hands together, chopsticks between his palms.

"Thank you for the meal!"

He dived into his ramen, Sona, Mittelt, and Koneko following his lead.

They continued to make small talk while they ate, the storm outside getting worse as time wore on.

"One more…" Naruto said as he finished.

"No, I am cutting you off here." Sona said as she prepared to pay.

"But…"

"The storm is getting worse; I'd rather not get sick because you wanted ten bowls of ramen." Sona stated sternly.

She wasn't going to budge.

Naruto accepted defeat.

"No problem, I…"

Naruto looked toward the door when he and the others heard something hit the ground, a loud splash and a groan was heard.

Without hesitation, Naruto rushed to the entrance, moving the curtain.

Due to the ramen bar being on a street corner, there was a decent amount of traffic sounds, but due to the weather, there was no traffic currently.

But there was an adult wearing a white jacket currently passed out half way in the crosswalk.

Naruto ran out into the rain, ignoring the water hitting his body as he entered the street, and grabbed this person.

Carefully picking them up, Naruto pulled the man into the ramen bar.

"Hey, Old man, do you have any towels to dry him off!" Naruto asked in a panicked tone.

"Yeah, let me grab them!" the owner replied, running into the back.

Naruto set the man down in one of the booths.

"Naruto, what are you doing?" Sona asked as Naruto started to strip the person of their jacket, scarf, and hat.

Naruto didn't say anything as the owner returned with a few hand towels, giving them to the fox before he started to dry the man off while the owner turned up the heating system.

From his looks, Naruto assumed he was a foreigner.

For one, the man was tall, over the average height, and had pale/light blonde hair.

He had blue colored lips and dark bags underneath his eyes caused by lack of sleep. Around his neck was various bone-like tattoos.

He was also extremely thin due to malnutrition.

Another noticeable trait is the skin-like grey piece sutured onto his chest and torso.

His clothing was peculiar, consisting of a white, half-torn t-shirt with a large collar. He wears black pants which were cut off at the knee due to being rolled up, with knee high boots while sporting a pouch strapped to each thigh.

Koneko felt on edge, pinching her nose slightly.

'He reeks like a corpse…' She thought, her hands itching to throw a punch at any perceived threat.

Mittelt felt intimidated by the unconscious man.

Sona, meanwhile, didn't feel any particular sensation, but kept herself ready for anything.

A grunt from the adult made Naruto pull back, the man's eyes opening.

His eyes opened partially, giving him a sleep walking/dreaming look.

"Oh, where am I?" He asked, his accent being thick German.

"You passed out in the street." Naruto explained, handing a towel to the man. "I heard you collapse, so I brought you in here."

The man accepted the towel, using it to dry his face and hair.

"Thank you, and I do apologize for the inconvenience." He apologized as he tried to stand up, only for Naruto to push him down.

"You should eat something, you… don't look so good." Naruto said in concern.

The man smiled.

"You are kind, but I am in perfect health, I eat enough to survive." He said, standing up fully. "After all, I was a doctor, so I do believe I am qualified for such judgement calls."

"Okay…" Naruto said, not wanting to push this man if he didn't want to stay. "But can I get your name?"

The man thought about it.

"I am Johan Faust the 8th…"

Sona's eyes widened.

'Faust?'

"I'm Naruto Bael."

"It is nice meeting you, Mr. Bael." Faust said as he held out his hand.

Naruto shook his hand.

It was cold.

It could have been chocked up to the poor weather, but no.

Faust's hand felt like a cold, dead hand.

They released each other's hands, with Faust taking his jacket and putting it on.

"Wait, sir, do you have a place to go?" the owner asked.

"I do."

"Well, do you want me to call a taxi?"

"No, good sir." Faust said as he adjusted his scarf. "My living place is not to far from here. I promise."

He took his hat and looked at Naruto, a calm, cool smile.

"Thank you, Lord knows what would have happened if you didn't get me out of the street."

Faust's eyes narrowed.

They were dark.

Cold.

And held a depth of… despair and longing.

"I could have died…" he said in a low, gruff tone.

He turned his back, placing his hat upon his head and stepped out into the rain.

Naruto looked out the door.

Faust had seemingly vanished.

The rain overwhelmed Naruto's sense of smell, so his scent was covered.

'What a strange man…' Naruto thought as he leaned back into the ramen bar, preparing to leave.

"So…" Faust said to Frankensteiny, petting the skeletal dog from a nearby roof. "Mr. Bael is a devil. When I finish my business with the Phenex, I might…" A look of desire and interest entered his eyes. "Experiment on him too."

Skip, Phenex Manor…

"Ravel, I really feel like that Faust man is strange." Sona stated, drying off as she talked to her fellow King.

"Why? He is just a foreigner from what you explained." Ravel said.

The two of them were in Ravel's bedroom, talking privately.

Sona, Mittelt, Koneko, and Naruto had run to the Phenex Manor, and were soaked.

Currently, Koneko and Mittelt were bathing to warm themselves up as Naruto chilled next to the heater, waiting his turn.

"Faust!"

"Yes?" Ravel asked in confusion.

"You've never heard of the story of Faust?" Sona questioned.

"I have. He was a German scientist/alchemist who made a deal with Lord Mephisto, selling his soul for infinite knowledge. But that was Centuries ago." Ravel explained. "But…"

"Ever hear of the Hero Faction?" Sona asked, cutting the young Phenex off.

"Yeah, they are humans who are reincarnations of Mythological heroes, why?"

Sona pushed her glasses up.

"This Faust… he might be a descendant or the reincarnation of THE Faust…" Sona surmised. "If either are true, then he might be more dangerous than he appeared…"

Meanwhile…

Rain continued to pour.

The violent winds forced it to beat on the roofs and walls of housing.

Smart individuals chose to stay inside.

A driven Faust walked through the rain, not bothered by Mother Nature's tears.

He strode into the closest cemetery.

'With devils around, I must be careful.' He thought as he looked around, not seeing or feeling any presences.

Taking a deep breath, Faust channeled magic out of his body via his feet, spreading it through the earth and stone.

"Raise, my servants…" He chanted as his magic spread carefully through the entire cemetery. "Raise…"

Meanwhile…

Rias was alone.

She was in her apartment, going over old books on Rating Games she had brought with her when she moved to the Human world.

'Come on, there has to be something about Phenex clan members that I can exploit.' Rias thought as she continued to read.

Rain beat on the window, drawing Rias's attention.

'Man, this weather… it is crazy.' She thought as she never saw it get this bad during the few years she had lived in Japan.

Returning her attention to her book, intending to continue reading, Rias's attention was once again taken away from the book by her phone going off.

"Hello?"

"Rias, I got to tell you something…" Sona said on the other side.

Meanwhile, Underworld, Phenex Mansion…

"I can't wait to visit my baby sister!"

"Sabo, come on." Kisara groaned. "Don't you check the weather? It's a massive rain storm right now."

Sabo's cheeky smile got bigger.

"IT'S THE PERFECT TIME!" the Steam Punk inspired Phenex bellowed. "A LITTLE RAIN ISN'T…"

Kisara swept Sabo's footing, catching him before expertly pushing him down the hall toward his bedroom.

"No, now go call your sister and SET a visit up. Remember, Ravel has school tomorrow." Kisara stated.

Sabo boo'd his Queen but gave in.

Reaching into his pocket for his phone, he called Ravel.

Skip, Kuoh Academy…

"It's called the Boosted Gear." Issei explained to Naruto and Saji. "It allows me to boost my strength every ten seconds."

The three Pawns were in the YOC room eating lunch.

"Neat." Naruto said, impressed with this power. "Honestly, feels like a cheat skill, but not gonna complain."

Issei felt embarrassed.

"Thanks, but yeah, it does sound like a cheat." Issei said in agreement.

Saji snickered.

"Mine might NOT be that broken, but it has versatility." He stated, holding out his hand. "Line-up!"

Naruto and Issei leaned forward.

A small, lizard looking item appeared on Saji's hand.

Its mouth opened, revealing an extending 'Tongue' appendage.

"Nice, nice. I can think of a few things you can do in combat." Naruto said, enthusiasm in his face and tone.

"Well, why don't we gather after school, think of some cool combo attacks?" issei asked.

He knew he was currently weak, the fight with the fallen made that clear.

So, making plans to get stronger was currently on his bucket list.

"Oh, that would be cool… but…"

Naruto scratched the back of his head.

"I gotta help Ravel prepare the manor for her brother."

"Wait, Ravel has a brother?" Saji asked, Issei nodding in agreement.

"She's got three older brothers." Naruto stated, holding up three fingers.

He quirked an eyebrow as he looked at Issei.

"I'm shocked YOU don't know, Issei. I mean, Rias is your King, right?" He questioned.

Issei became bashful, a perverted grin appearing.

"Yeah~"

Rolling his eyes, Naruto continued.

"Well, then you should ask Rias about it. I don't wanna get involved."

"Involved with what?" Issei asked.

Naruto's eyes rolled again.

"Nothing 'important'."

"Why did you add Quotes?"

"I didn't do that."

"… I'm pretty sure you did, Naruto." Saji said.

"Well, I didn't."

The three bickered for a few minutes, not noticing their Kings watching them from the Student Council Room.

"You are still on this Faust business?" Ravel asked.

"Yes…"

Sona was disheveled.

She had spent the entire night studying the legend of Faust.

Rias put a comforting hand on Sona's shoulder.

"Since you feel this strongly, let us send out our familiars to keep an eye on this Faust. That way, if he does anything suspicious, we will be able to get him…" Rias offered.

Sona nodded.

"Good idea, Rias." She said, taking deep breathes, calming down.

"Anyway, aside from…that, my brother is coming for a visit." Ravel explained.

Sona quirked an eyebrow as Rias deadpanned.

"Riser?"

"No, Sabo. He called me last night, asking to visit. So, I'll be busy after school, getting ready for him." Ravel explained.

"Not everything concerning Ravel is about Riser, Rias." Sona said at her friend.

"I know, I know… but ever since Riser has been on this training trip, I feel anxious." Rias explained, sitting down. "I just feel like he is going to come after me…"

Ravel felt insulted.

Rias had slandered Riser.

Sure, Ravel understood the redhead's desire to be free of the arranged marriage, Ravel herself currently not in one, but she did not like the tone or language Rias used for Riser.

Despite all of Riser's shortcomings, he was still her brother.

A slight on him, was a slight on Ravel.

BUT… she let it go.

What would Ravel gain from confronting Rias?

More complex emotions and aggression from Rias.

"Well, Brother does come home occasionally for resources, and not once has he mentioned you, Rias." Ravel said, trying to ease some of Rias's anxiety.

'Not that he has told YOU, Ravel.' Rias thought as she drank some water.

Shuddering, Rias looked out the window.

The prior day's rain had brought forth a sunny day.

An uncomfortable silence surrounded the three Kings.

Cemetery…

Faust sat on a tombstone.

Beside him, Frankensteiny.

On his left, a skeleton.

It was a female skeleton, the differences of certain bones showing as much.

But the most interesting thing, was the skull.

There was a bullet hole, complimented by fragmentation in the forehead.

'Eliza…' Faust thought as he caressed the chin of the skeleton.

Flashback…

"ELIZA!"

"Dr… she is gone…"

A younger Faust growled.

"NO, SHE ISN'T!" He yelled in emotional pain. "MY WIFE ISN'T DEAD!"

He continued to operate.

She was gone.

Days passed.

He didn't eat.

He would stare at the wall.

He ignored his duties to his village.

To his people.

One evening… He found his calling.

Faust found himself digging up Eliza's body before he was stopped by some fellow villagers, who brought him to the village leader.

"You monster!" the chief shouted, his spit hitting Faust's cheek. "YOU CALL YOURSELF A DOCTOR, BUT REFUSE TO ACCEPT THAT DEATH IS IRREVERSIBLE…"

"But it isn't…"

"Huh?"

The chief took several steps back when Frankensteiny appeared at Faust's legs, the man picking his dog up.

"But isn't this what you and all the others have been waiting for, Chief?" Faust asked as his hand ran down his dog's back. "I finally have inherited my ancestor's legacy…"

"You… abomination…"

Flashback End…

Faust chuckled at the memories.

'Banishment… for awakening my powers.' He thought, leaning into his palm. 'Some 'Hero' faction it turned out to be. But none the less, I was freed by the banishment, so I am not complaining.'

Faust stood up, wobbling slightly.

"Frankensteiny, Eliza… we must continue our search…" Faust stated as he spread his arms out.

His movement shook the ground.

The ground softened unbelievably so, allowing skeletons to pull themselves out of the earth.

"Our search… for Phenex…"
