Review Response:
Bednarczykmiki: He will.
ShadowBloodedge9396: Let's see what happens, together.
Nathair1: His reason for that will be revealed. Yes, Ravel is too emotional at this moment and would probably get trapped. Well, Eliza is a pile of bones… so what is there to resurrect with the evil pieces? Do you want her to be like Brook from One Piece?
Vongola Ninja: Answers will be revealed to why he wants specifically a Phenex. That is a nice way of seeing Mittelt's struggles. In canon, Naruto is scared of Ghosts, so why wouldn't he be scared of skeletons, I set that up in an earlier chapter, where he is watching a horror film with zombies and he freaks out. I changed the tears like you recommended. You'll see what I picked. Faust could go to either one, but I am leaning toward Ravel. At this point and time, I don't know what other series I might add. It all depends on what is going on in the story.
Redmen6blight: No, I don't need a cultist, I already deal with them enough.
Borello: Thank you.

Chapter 49: Bare Bones
"I am Sabo Phenex." Sabo said as he held his weapon ready, engulfing it in flames when he gripped it tighter. "I am here for my sister's peerage members you kidnapped!"
"Okay."
"HUH?" Kisara voiced in confusion.
Faust didn't reply with words, snapping his fingers.
A nearby door opened, two skeletons walking out with Vulcan and Mittelt, sleeping soundly.
"Don't worry, I put them under to aid in their recovery." Faust said as he had his skeletons put the two resting devils down.
Sabo was off put by how relaxed and calm Faust was as the man walked toward the back of the mausoleum.
"Though, I'd like a sample from you…" Faust said, turning his head enough to show the intent in his eyes.
He spun, throwing scalpels at Sabo, who batted them away with his weapon, only to realize that the skeleton that had kept close to Faust now wielded a pole arm weapon coated in green magic.
Sabo stepped back, taking the thrust to the stomach.
"SABO!" Justin and Kisara screamed.
Faust's eyes narrowed.
"I don't need you." He said as his skeletal minions rose from their slumber. "Take them and the unconscious ones away."
"No need…" Sabo stated as he skidded on his feet, holding the should be bruised area.
'That felt different.' He thought as he caught his breath.
"And why is that?" Faust asked, curiously tilting his head.
"Kisara, Justin, take Vulcan and Mittelt, I'll deal with this guy," Sabo stated as his fist became flames, extending the length of his pole. "Myself."
"But, my King…" Justin tried to say, but was silenced by Kisara.
"Of course, Sabo."
Faust smiled as he watched the other devils obeyed their King.
"Thank you, I'd rather not waste my magic with these bones." Faust stated with a smile.
The skeletons collapsed, except the one wielding the pole arm.
"Now…" Faust said as he caressed this skeleton with love and affection. "Come back to me, Dear Eliza…"
His hand brushed against her skull as the magic that was used for the others entered this skeleton.
Sabo watched as muscle fibers, organs, flesh, hair, and clothing on this 'Eliza'.
"She was a woman of deadly beauty… when she was alive." Faust stated as he gazed upon his partner. "The culmination of my years researching my ancestor's necromancy grimoire…"
Standing before him in a nurse uniform and long blonde hair held back with a hairband, was Eliza.
She wielded the razor blade pole arm expertly with a green aura around it and herself.
"You call that necromancy?" Sabo asked as he prepared to fight. "She has no will of her own!"
Eliza's composer was similar to a doll.
Her blank expression and lack of emotion.
Faust frowned.
"It is the price to pay… for an incomplete spell." He stated, face palming. "I have tried for years to figure it out… but…" he looked between the gaps to stare manically at Sabo. "With the genetics of a Phenex, I could potentially resurrect my dearly beloved…"
Before Sabo could say anything, Eliza attacked, flames spewing out from his weapon.
"Mere fire won't scorch her," Faust stated as Eliza didn't flinch, putting more pressure into her attack, pulling back to attempt an uppercut strike.
Sabo's face became fire, the magic covered razor striking the fire.
Sabo jumped in motion, taking human form as he landed on his feet… his chin bleeding.
'What? She cut me? But she doesn't have any holy weapons or haki…' Sabo thought as his chin slowly healed.
"Hm. Unexpected. Seems the necromancy magic anchoring Eliza's soul to her bones can affect Phenex's." Faust said in amusement, taking out a pen and notepad. "So educating. Continue Eliza."
Eliza jumped from her spot, bringing down her weapon.
Sabo tossed his own weapon, with Eliza batting it aside, not stopping her attack.
Sabo didn't flinch as he raised his hands, taking a fighting stance.
His fingers held in such a way that resembled Japanese dragon hands.
"Ryusoken: Ryu no Kagizume!" Sabo shouted as he thrust his hand forward, striking the razorblade.
His 'Claws' gripped the blade while his palm was sliced open, shattering it instantly, but Eliza did not stop, landing on her feet to spin the polearm with enough force to strike Sabo in the arm, sending him flying as his palms healed.
Sabo's legs became flames, pushing himself into an upright position mid-air with his arm pulled back.
"HIKEN!"
A fist of flame burned bright, striking the woman.
"I told you, fire won't hurt my Eliza." Faust repeated as the mausoleum walls were destroyed, raising a hand to block some dust and small chunks that broke from the ceiling.
Sabo landed on the ground, his fire fading.
"Your necromancy… it works on corpses? No souls?" He asked curiously, making Faust quirk an eyebrow. "You can bring back the dead?"
"As long as there is no soul and some fragment of bones to anchor them." Faust explained, not minding giving small details of his necromancy.
"It's sad." Sabo stated as he took his fighting stance again as Eliza discarded her weapon for a new one, Sabo turning to face Faust. "It's sad you turned your wife into a doll."
Faust's eyes widened as an enraged expression crept across his face.
"A doll?" He asked quietly, before taking a deep breath. "A DOLL!"
Kisara and Justin, who were outside with Vulcan and Mittelt, felt a giant surge of magic.
Sabo watched as magic overflowed from Eliza's body.
'No doubt he is enhancing her abilities… no doubt…' he thought as he watched the magic on the new razorblade pole arm extend the blade's reach via magic.
Faust's eyes were bloodshot.
His anger was visible.
"HOW DARE YOU CALL MY WIFE A DOLL!" he shouted, pointing at Sabo. "ELIZA, KILL HIM!"
Eliza lunged forward.
Sabo sidestepped Eliza, pulling his arm back.
With precision, he struck Eliza's neck, making her stumble before he kicked her legs from under her.
"ELIZA!"
Sabo rolled away, grabbing his weapon, blocking Eliza's follow up strike.
His shoulder and torso burst open, blood spraying every where and soaking into Sabo's clothing as the magic blade fazed through his defense, cutting him.
"HAHAHAHAHAHA, THAT'S IT, ELIZA, CUT HIM INTO PIECES! IT'S WHAT HE DESERVES FOR CALLING YOU A DOLL!" Faust shouted.
"But it is true…"
Faust turned, seeing Justin behind him, arms raised.
"That thing is just a doll, held together by your wife's soul." Justin stated in a cold tone.
"ELI…"
Faust was silenced as Justin's arm transformed.
"Carcan Bras."
Said item latched around Faust's throat as Sabo pushed Eliza away with no effort, the being attempting to run to Faust.
Kisara appeared between Faust and Eliza.
"Diable Jambe…" She stated, her right leg ablaze of condensed flames. "FLANCHET STRIKE!"
Eliza lurched as Kisara's foot embedded itself in her stomach, sending her through the stone walls, out into the dirt.
"ELIZA!" Faust shouted, struggling against Justin's restraints.
"Quiet!" Justin stated clearly. "Now, call off your little doll."
"For… the last time…" Faust growled. "SHE IS NOT A DOLL!"
His magic spiked again, traveling through the ground, entering Eliza and the other skeletons.
Sabo got up, his wounds healing.
"Thanks for the saves you two." Sabo thanked his peerage.
"Well, it isn't over yet." Sabo stated as he turned, seeing the skeletal army led by Eliza. "You have no shame, Faust."
The doctor in restraint said nothing as Eliza walked forward.
"I'll handle…"
"I'll take care of Eliza." Sabo stated. "If that Necromancy magic enhance blade connects with you, you could die. My healing makes it easier for me."
"But…"
"Deal with the other bone goons." Sabo ordered.
"Sabo…"
"Kisara, look at them." Sabo stated. "Only Eliza has assumed a human shell. It means Faust is putting the majority of his magic into her…"
Kisara looked again.
'Oh, he is right…' She thought, feeling the magic that flowed through all of them.
The regular skeletons were being puppeteered by small amount of magic.
While Eliza oozed magic like a water fountain.
"I understand, my King." Kisara stated as she raised her right leg, once again lighting in condensed fire.
"Justin, keep Faust restrained, and make sure he is kept alive." Sabo stated, looking at his Pawn. "I want to make him talk when this is over."
"Understood."
Faust said nothing nor did he attempt to break his bindings.
Sabo and Kisara approached the skeleton army.
Kisara ran toward Eliza, Sabo behind her.
Eliza swung her weapon, only for it to miss when Kisara jumped over her, landing on top of another Skeleton, crushing it before spin kicking another's head off.
Sabo closed the distance and thrust his weapon into Eliza's guard.
He hooked it under Eliza's arm, spinning around and throwing her over his shoulder, slamming her into the ground.
Faust winced.
"Stay still." Justin ordered.
"You can't scare me." Faust told the devil. "With my ability, I can easily repair any damage. I even injected myself with a lot of morphine, so my pain is nothing…"
Justin didn't trust anything that Faust just said, but kept his shackles tight.
Eliza got up, slumped over.
Sabo expected her to attack frantically… but his eyes widened.
Her nurse garb split open on the back.
A fallen angel wing and a devil wing appeared on her back.
"What is going on! I thought Eliza was a human?" Sabo questioned before he swatted away the Razorblade pole arm.
Eliza stood upright, in her hand was a Light Weapon replica of the one she tossed at him just now, covered in the putrid magic that held her together.
"Eliza is a human, but thanks to my research into biology of supernatural creatures like devils and fallen," Faust explained with a calm tone. "My Eliza can fight. It is no mere cosmetic."
Eliza took flight and clashed with Sabo again.
'SO, THIS IS WHY HE TOOK MITTELT AND VULCAN!' Sabo thought as he pushed against the increased strength of Eliza. "You harvested their DNA and enhanced Eliza!"
Faust had a look of shame covering his face.
"It is called Chimerafication. All I need was to do some research on who I wanted to fuse with Eliza." Faust whispered.
Sabo heard this and snarled.
"You are disgusting, Faust." Sabo stated as he released his weapon, allowing Eliza to strike him, cutting off his arm, making him wince from the Light. "You turned your wife into a freak!"
Faust stayed silent as Sabo was now within Eliza's defenses.
"Ryu no Kagizume!"
Faust watched as Sabo's 'claws' gripped Eliza's legs, specifically, the fibula and the tibia.
Eliza's protective magic shell cracked then shattered, her tibia and fibula bones shattering into dust.
Faust's world slowed to a crawl as Eliza collapsed to the ground, her bones damaged beyond repair.
The magic that granted Dear Eliza life and shape faded, revealing the skeleton of Eliza Faust, now missing her legs.
The skeletons Kisara was fighting stopped moving.
'The fuck?' She thought as she stayed on guard.
Faust's eyes were bloodshot snapped.
"Come to me," He stated. "COME TO ME!"
The reanimated skeletons disassembled, the magic within them making them float and collect around Faust and Justin.
"STOP, OR FORFIT YOUR LIFE!" Justin shouted, tightening his grip on Faust's neck.
The man did not care, his eyes solely focused on Sabo.
The skeletons spun around the Justin and Faust, piecing themselves together until it formed a gigantic skeleton from the waist up.
"14-Ton Calcium Giant…" Faust stated, his body starting to feel weak as he had used the last remnants of his magic to give his last attack the power it needed.
"JUSTIN, RELEASE HIM!" Sabo ordered as he feared for his Pawn.
Without hesitation, Justin released Faust, jumping back.
The giant skeleton grabbed Eliza, bringing her to Faust.
Faust accepted his wife's bones, collapsing to his knees as he stared at the damage.
"Eliza…" he mumbled, his crazed eyes not flinching as tears started to form. "Eliza…"
He took her remains in his arms, embracing them.
Sabo, Kisara, and Justin regrouped as the Giant returned its attention to them.
"Justin, you're up." Sabo ordered, trusting his Pawn.
Justin nodded, a guillotine blade forming on his forearm.
"I offer this phrase, to my treasured King." Justin stated as his blades edge starting to glow with magic. "I ask that you grant me victory, swiftly and cleanly…"
Justin jumped into the air, flipping behind the Giant's head.
"LAW ABIDING SILVER GUN!" Justin stated as his attack decapitated the giant.
The bones collapsed, the magic dispersed.
Justin landed on his feet behind Faust.
Kisara, Sabo, and Justin prepared to continue… yet Faust didn't move or say anything.
He was on his knees, cradling Eliza's remains.
Cautiously, Justin approached and prodded Faust.
"I… I think he is unconscious, my King."
Twenty Minutes Later…
"Why did you bring him here?" Ravel asked Sabo as the older Phenex rested on the couch, drinking some water, as Onimaru and Loona sat beside their master, growling at their…'guest'.
Faust was on his knees still, hands tied behind him.
His head was locked between Justin's torso, being in his Executioner's form.
Thus, his legs were gone and his torso was a Guillotine.
"Because…" Sabo said as he turned toward the coffee table. "I wanna know what happened to him."
On said table was Eliza's bones, including her feet and as much of the destroyed bone fragments.
"Why do you care about this freak's story? Do I need to remind you that he is the same freak who hurt my peerage!" Ravel asked in a restrained yell.
She was furious.
Currently, her peerage, Kisara, and Naruto were sleeping, Vulcan and Mittelt having been put in their rooms.
Kisara went to sleep the moment she entered the guest room, feeling exhausted after literally bashing skulls.
She wanted to scream and yell.
But she didn't want to wake her peerage.
"Ravel…" Sabo said as he stood up, staring softly at his sister. "I have a feeling that Faust might be a good asset to you."
"An asset? Him!"
"Yes, I do." Sabo replied. "He is a deeply devoted man, just misguided. I believe," He crossed his arms. "If we listen to his story, we can make a judgement call. Execution or Spare his life for Servitude. His abilities are great for dealing with many enemies, and with some refinement, he could probably learn how to revive Eliza."
"You want to help this monster?" Ravel asked in a sarcastic, biased tone.
"If I am a monster, than why did I bandage your friends?"
Ravel and Sabo pivoted on their feet, startled by Faust.
"FUCK, HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN AWAKE!" Ravel screamed, Loona and Onimaru ready to pounce.
"About a minute." Faust replied calmly, like his head was not under a guillotine that was ready to chop his head off. "But my question still stands. Why did I fix and bandage your peerage?"
"What are you talking about? You put my Bishop in critical condition by cutting the tendons in his limbs." Ravel snapped.
Faust made a sound of recognition.
"The mustached fellow with the rubberization power. Well, I wanted to bandage him, but…" Faust started to say.
Flash Back…
Eliza had cut into Danjuro's leg tendons with ease.
"GENTLE!" Manami screamed as her husband collapsed.
Without hesitation, Faust walked over to Danjuro, intending to dress the wounds… but stopped when Manami threw herself atop her husband.
"STAY AWAY!" She screamed/cried out with waterfall tears and snot bursting from her eyes and nose. "OR I'LL… OR I'LL…"
Faust held a shocked expression at this showing of love.
'She is weak… and frail… yet is willing to give her life for her beloved…' he thought, thinking of what the situation would have been like if he had been attacked. 'Eliza would do the same.'
"Come, Eliza. We have what we want." Faust said, backing off. "I would apply magic to the wounds, keep the blood from escaping.
Manami flinched.
"You're Right!" she screamed, putting her hands on Danjuro's body, channeling her magic into him.
Flashback End…
"So, you chose NOT to stop the bleeding…" Ravel said, not following what Faust meant.
Faust sighed.
"I saw the love that the little woman had for her husband, the love that would drive her to do anything to protect him." Faust explained. "Why would I ruin that by forcing her away and probably scarring her?"
"But that doesn't explain why you did any of this!" Ravel stated, Sabo putting a hand on her shoulder. "You attack them, kidnap and harvest their genetics… and for what?"
Faust relaxed.
Justin made no movements, waiting for the… signal.
"Eliza and I were born into the Hero Faction. She was an infantry member, and I was believed to be the reincarnation of the great Alchemist Johann George Faust. But, after a few years and the birth of my cousin Georg, it was revealed I was not his reincarnation. So, I was assigned to be a doctor." Faust explained. "Eliza and I were friends since childhood, and we fell in love, eventually opening a doctor's clinic on the outskirts of our village to help others. But, one day…"
Faust went silent for a bit.
Sabo and Ravel saw his thousand-yard stare.
He looked beyond them.
Remembering that dreadful night.
"A human robber broke in while I was away, and shot Eliza in the head."
'Lightning struck'.
"I did what I could to save her… yet… death claimed Eliza." Faust continued. "I fell into depression. I already was considered a failure by my people, but now I was a shell of a man, just waiting to die. And at my lowest…"
His head raised to show the dead look in his eyes.
"I felt a calling. In the basement of my home. I found a secret passage and entered, finding the books of necromancy written by Johan Faust the First." Faust stated. "Its Shamanic secrets told me of how to raise the dead and some advancements like Chimerafication. I studied and master the art, but it felt incomplete. I could not truly revive Eliza's soul from the lands of the dead…"
Tears dripped down Faust's face.
"After the elders found out of my research, I was banished. I have been on my own, traveling from country to country in search of the secrets to truly revive Eliza, but I found nothing…" Faust closed his eyes, totally relaxed. "There you have it. My story."
His eyes opened.
"I guess this is where you kill me now." He stated dully, his eyes lacked the light of life.
Ravel had visibly calmed, a look of contemplation on her face.
She turned to Sabo, leaning forward.
Sabo mimicked her gesture.
They held their hands over their mouths, whispering very quietly.
Faust watched in patience as they two siblings conversed.
"Faust…" Ravel said as she returned her attention to the human. "What if I told you… that we can help you get the secrets of true resurrection, but at a cost?"
Ravel and Sabo held up an Evil Piece.
Chapter 49, DONE!
Well, that was fun. The fight, the drama, the conclusion.
SO.
Does Johan Faust the 8th get a happy ending, reincarnation and the secrets to revive Eliza?
Or…
Death by Beheading?
If he survives, he will learn how to bring Eliza's soul back, like in Shaman King canon, but there will be some… time between that. Yes, the Chimerafication is an Original idea of mine. The Dear Eliza Over Soul is stated to have only human strength, but here, I gave Faust a fighting chance, that at the Necro Magic hurts Phenex's of course.
We shall see what happens.
