Rose glared at her literature exam study guide and could almost swear it glared right back at her.

"What did Shakespeare mean to say about ambition when he wrote "Unnatural deed do breed unnatural troubles?" Rose read. What sort of question was this?

Good on her teacher for telling them what the exam essay question would be but Rose always hated those kinds of questions. How is anyone supposed to know what someone else meant by anything, especially a playwright who died years ago?

Rose wasn't bad at analysis, but her critique of the question still stood. All she'd have is an educated guess. It's not like she could go back and ask Shakespeare what he meant.

Wait.

Rose leaned back and checked her phone.

'Running late at work. Be home by 6.' The last text from her mother read.

It was only fifteen past five.

And her dad was out of town until Monday.

And her gran was visiting a friend.

Which meant…

"Doctor!" Rose called as she went out to the backyard.

"Eh?" The Doctor asked, pulling his head out of some large contraption he'd lugged out onto the backyard to work on.

"You know Mum will kill you if you mess up the grass," Rose warned him.

"Ah," The Doctor shrugged off her warning. "I've got a bottle of speed grow in the TARDIS that'll fix it up before she even notices."

Rose decided not to comment on the potential trouble that could bring but images of a miniature jungle springing up in her yard came to mind.

"Did you need something?" The Doctor asked.

"Just a little help studying," Rose said.

The Doctor perked up a bit.

"Is it Physics?" he asked. "I'm quite good at Physics and I've got some experience teaching it."

"No, it's Literature," Rose said.

"Oh," the Doctor's shoulders slumped a bit.

"It's one of those stupid interpretation questions," Rose said. "Asking about what the author thinks and I've never met Shakespeare but you have so I figured that you might know what he meant more than I do."

"Shakespeare?" The Doctor asked. "Oh! I haven't seen him in ages! Tell you what? We can go see it performed and then ask him what he meant himself?"

Rose's face lit up. "You mean it?"

"Sure!" The Doctor said, already running to the TARDIS. Then he stopped and swung his head around. "Just don't tell your Mum about this."

"Wouldn't dream of it!" Rose said as she ran into the TARDIS after her favorite uncle. There are benefits to living with a time traveler.
