Chapter Thirteen

Tina walked back inside right as everyone came piling out of the hall bathroom, laughing loudly. She looked at the, taking the leash off of Shadow. "What's so funny?"

Harmony beamed. "Jake texted Sheila to send boobs and we had to help her get the best angle." She answered laughing, showing Tina Sheila's phone.

Tina looked before bursting out laughing."Oh my GOD! He's gonna kill you!" Tina's laughter filled the room as she glanced at Sheila's phone with amusement. "He definitely got himself into some trouble, that's for sure," she chuckled, shaking her head in disbelief. The girls and Kurt continued giggling, finding the whole situation incredibly hilarious.

"OH! We gotta put the brownies in!" Mercedes said, guiding them back into the kitchen. As the girls entered the kitchen, their laughter echoed through the house. Little did they know, their slumber party was about to take an unexpected turn.

Meanwhile, downstairs in the theater room, the boys were brainstorming their next move. Sam had managed to connect his phone to the wifi, and a mischievous glint sparkled in his eyes. "Alright, guys, I've got an idea," he said, grinning devilishly.

The others leaned in closer, eager to hear Sam's plan. "What is it?" Blaine asked.

Sam, still holding his phone, grinned devilishly. "Alright, guys. I've hacked into Tina's smart home system. We're going to give them a night they'll never forget."

Puck raised an eyebrow. "What are you planning?"

Sam tapped on his phone, navigating through the different settings. "We're going to play with the lights and sound system. Let's start with some eerie music and flickering lights."

Jake chuckled. "This is going to be epic," he said, rubbing his hands together in anticipation. "Imagine their faces when they hear creepy music and the lights start flickering. It'll be like a horror movie come to life."

Blaine smirked. "And then what? Are we just going to scare them and leave?"

Sam shook his head. "No, we've got to take it up a notch. We'll hide and at the perfect moment, we'll jump out and scare them."

Blaine's eyes gleamed with excitement. "I love it! Let's make sure they never forget this night." The boys quickly set to work, strategically placing themselves behind the furniture and drapes in the theater room, ready to execute their plan.

Puck chuckled, his eyes lighting up with excitement. "Oh man, this is gonna be priceless. They'll never know what hit 'em."

As Tina and everyone returned from the kitchen, carrying three large boxes of pizza, they noticed something wasn't quite right.

"Does it look creepy in here to you guys? She asked. The dimmed lights cast long shadows on the walls.

"Eh, maybe you're just being paranoid." Sheila suggested. "Your house is always a little creepy at night."

Just then the lights flickered and the tv flashed on and off before it stopped. Tina's eyes widened with a mixture of curiosity and unease. "What in the world is going on?" she muttered, setting the boxes of pizza on the coffee table. The girls exchanged puzzled glances, uncertainty creeping into their faces.

"Maybe there's a power outage or something," Mercedes suggested, her voice barely above a whisper.

Harmony nervously clutched onto Tina's arm. "I don't like this, Tina. It feels...creepy."

Sheila shrugged nonchalantly. "Or it's just a fluke." She reassured her friends with a warm smile, walking over to the table and grabbing a slice of pizza.

"Yeah," Kurt said, following her lead and grabbed his own slice before plopping down on the couch next to her. "Let's pick a movie."

Once they grabbed some pizza and got comfortable in their seats, the rest of the group settled down to choose a movie. Eventually, they all agreed on a Harry Potter marathon and made themselves comfortable as Tina pressed play on the first film.

As the movie started, eerie music began to play softly in the background, barely audible at first before the lights slowly flickered. Tina furrowed her brow, glancing around at her friends. "Did any of you turn on some creepy soundtrack?" she asked, a hint of unease in her voice.

Everyone exchanged confused glances, their eyes narrowing in suspicion. The flickering lights intensified, casting erratic shadows across the room. It was as if an invisible hand was playing with the switches, teasing them with darkness and light.

Kurt grabbed Sheila's arm, his voice trembling. "Did you see that? Something moved over there..."

Sheila's face paled, and her grip tightened on her slice of pizza. "Okay, this is officially creepy. What the hell is going on?"

Suddenly, a loud crash echoed from behind the drapes, and they all jerked in their seats. Anxiety gripped their hearts as they turned their heads towards the source of the noise.

Puck couldn't help but let out a mischievous laugh. "Boo!" he shouted, bursting through the drapes with his arms raised in an attempt to scare them.

"What the actual hell, Puck!" Tina exclaimed, her voice trembling. "You scared the living daylights out of us!"

Puck couldn't contain his laughter any longer, doubling over as he clutched at his stomach. "Oh come on, you guys! It was just a prank! Lighten up."

Sheila's eyes narrowed at him. "A prank? Are you serious? We were genuinely freaked out!"

He was met with a mix of annoyance and relief as they all looked at him, but their reactions were short-lived. Sam and Mike emerged from their hiding spots, running towards the group and shouting loudly while flickering the lights yet again.

Tina let out a shriek, her heart racing in her chest, while Mercedes jumped back, nearly knocking over the pizza box. Even Kurt, who was known for his courage, jumped when a hand landed on his shoulder. But the biggest concern was that he did not recognize the attractive boy standing behind him.

"WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU?" Kurt shouted.

The room erupted into chaos as the group stumbled over each other, their screams blending with the eerie music and flickering lights. Tina and Harmony clung to each other, their eyes wide with terror, while Kurt and Mercedes sought refuge behind the couch, shielding themselves from the impending horror.

Jake and Blaine couldn't contain their laughter as they watched everyone scramble for safety. Jake emerged from his hiding spot with a triumphant grin, reveling in the fear he had instilled. "Did we get you guys good or what?" he gloated, his voice dripping with satisfaction. "Blaine perfect timing!"

Blaine patted himself on the back. "I aim to please."

Sheila shot him a scathing glare, her heart still racing from the scare. "You are all so dead!" she yelled, her tone filled with equal parts anger and relief.

Jake chuckled, approaching his girlfriend. "You have to admit, that was pretty brilliant," he said, attempting to embrace her but she playfully resisted.

She narrowed her eyes at him. "Yeah, whatever, you're gonna pay for that later." she muttered under her breath.

He just smirked and pulled her closer, his hand resting possessively on her hip. "Can't wait."

Harmony rolled her eyes with exasperation. "And here they are, already making plans to defile which room."

Harmony's sarcastic remark broke the tension in the room, and a chorus of laughter erupted, mingling with the fading echoes of fear. The flickering lights finally stabilized, casting a warm, inviting glow that washed away the lingering sense of unease.

With their hearts still pounding, but now filled with reassurance, the group slowly began to disentangle themselves from behind couches and beneath tables. Kurt straightened his rumpled clothes and glanced at the attractive stranger whose hand had landed on his shoulder during the chaos. He still wore a look of confusion but was quickly replaced with a slight smile as he realized that this better-looking boy meant no harm.

"I apologize for the scare," the stranger said, his voice soft yet commanding. "Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Blaine, and I'm a friend of Puck's."

Kurt's eyebrows shot up in surprise. "Well, Blaine," he replied, extending his hand in greeting, "next time you decide to drop by unannounced and scare the living daylights out of us, maybe a little warning would be nice."

Blaine chuckled, shaking Kurt's hand. "Noted," he said with a wink. "I'll make sure to give you a fair warning next time we plot something."

Tina, still slightly on edge from the prank, approached Blaine cautiously. "I have to admit, that was one hell of a scare," she said, her voice trembling slightly. "But seriously, how did y'all get in here.?"

Blaine's toothy grin stretched across his face as he explained, "Mike may have gotten us in here, but the true mastermind behind it all is Sam." he admitted playfully.

The group turned to Sam, who chuckled mischievously. "You sly dog," Tina said with a teasing smirk. "So this was your grand plan all along?"

"The opportunity was too perfect not to take," Sam replied with a wink towards Mercedes, who couldn't help but blush in response.

Harmony turned Mercedes around to face the group, her eyes narrowed with suspicion. "And you were in on this?" she asked.

Mercedes shook her head. "No... no... I thought he was kidding when he said he might need to crash when I told him we were all staying another night."

Kurt gasped dramatically. "That explains why you were grinning like a Cheshire cat while texting this morning! You were plotting this whole thing!"

"Wait, no! I was smiling cause we were talking about kissing last night and-" She stopped covering her mouth.

"I KNEW IT!" Sheila shouted. "I knew it! I told y'all they came back all smiles and giggles, and his big lips were all rosy! Y'all definitely made out last night and snuck in here for round two."

Everyone erupted into laughter, their fear completely forgotten in the midst of the playful accusations. Mercedes blushed furiously, her embarrassment evident on her face. "Okay, okay, you caught us," she said sarcastically, her voice filled with amusement. "But I didn't know they were doing any of this!"

Sam nodded. "Yeah, my girl's innocent. We just wanted to scare y'all and have a good laugh."

Tina smirked mischievously as she eyed Mercedes and Sam. "Well, I guess we can forgive you for this epic scare," she said, winking at them. "But I suggest you find a more creative way to entertain yourselves next time."

Sam's grin widened, wrapping an arm around Mercedes' waist. "We'll keep that in mind," he replied with a playful wink.

Suddenly, Puck's stomach growled loudly, breaking the lighthearted moment. "Alright, enough adrenaline for one night," he said with a chuckle. "Can we join the marathon... and pizza?"

Tina smirked, her heart rate beginning to return to normal. "Well, you guys definitely succeeded in scaring the crap out of us," she said. "As long as there aren't any more surprises... y'all stay for three movies!"

Puck's hunger had reminded them all that there was still a marathon to be enjoyed and a pizza to be devoured.

Suddenly, Blaine spoke up. "I actually brought some snacks with me as well," he said, raising an eyebrow playfully. "I didn't anticipate all the chaos, but I always come prepared."

"What kind of snacks did you bring, Blaine?" Kurt asked, eyes twinkling. Blaine reached into his bag and pulled out a variety of treats—chips, chocolates, and even some homemade cookies.

Mercedes' eyes grew wide at the mention of homemade cookies. "Crap the brownies!" She exclaimed, immediately jumping up from her seat and taking off up the stairs.

"I'll go help her with the brownies," Sam offered, following Mercedes without any objections from the rest of their group.

Puck grinned as he took a large bite of pizza. "Ten bucks says they end up making out again," he mumbled through a mouthful of food.

The room erupted into laughter, Puck's comment only adding to the jovial atmosphere. Kurt playfully smacked Puck's arm. "Don't jinx it," he said with a grin. "Let them have their moment. Everyone settled back into their seats, surrounded by snacks and the comforting glow of the TV screen, a sense of ease washed over them.

Sam followed Mercedes up the stairs, eager to help her with the brownies. Mercedes stood in front of the kitchen counter, her eyes fixed on the tray of brownies.

"I can't believe I forgot about these," she murmured, a tinge of frustration lacing her voice.

Sam stepped closer, reaching out to place a comforting hand on her shoulder. "Are they ruined?" he asked, his voice was soothing and gentle, his touch sending a shiver of delight down her spine.

Mercedes shook her head, a small smile forming on her face as she turned to face Sam. "No, I think they're fine," she said, her eyes meeting his.

"Good," Sam replied with a grin. "Because I was really looking forward to those brownies."

Mercedes laughed, the sound filling the room and sending warmth through both of them. "So it was you guys that took a swipe? I thought it was Harmony and Kurt."

"Guilty, we all did when we were running downstairs..." He replied.

She smirked. "So why did you crash our slumber party? Other than trying to scare us, I mean." She asked as she grabbed a plate from the cabinet and a knife from the block to cut the brownies for everyone.

Sam leaned against the kitchen counter, watching Mercedes with admiration as she skillfully cut the brownies into perfect squares. "Well, I may have had an ulterior motive," he confessed. "I wanted some alone time with you."

Mercedes's cheeks flushed, but a playful smile tugged at her lips. "Alone time?" she asked, placing a brownie square on the plate. "And what exactly did you have in mind?"

"Well," he began, his voice low as he took the brownie and bit into it. "First I wanted to kiss you again but now that there's brownies involved that may be the winner." He joked.

Mercedes raised an eyebrow. "So the brownies are why you're staying?"

Sam chuckled, shaking his head. "Nah, it's definitely a bonus, but I enjoy your company too." He took a step closer, his gaze intense as he locked eyes with her.

A blush crept up Mercedes' cheeks as she busied herself with cutting the brownies into perfect squares. "Well, I can't deny that spending time with you has been...interesting," she she said coyly, a small smile playing on her lips.

Sam grinned, closing the gap between them until he was standing right beside her. "You know, I've been thinking about that kiss we shared earlier," he said, his voice low and husky. "And I can't help but wonder what it would be like to kiss you again."

Mercedes's heart thudded in her chest as she felt Sam's warm breath against her cheek. She turned to face him, their eyes locking in a heated gaze. "Maybe it's time we find out," she whispered, her voice barely above a murmur.

Without another word, Sam leaned in and captured her lips with his own. The kiss was slow and sweet at first, a gentle exploration of each other's lips moved in perfect harmony, a dance of passion and longing. Mercedes could taste the hint of chocolate on Sam's lips, mixing with the sweetness of their connection.

As the kiss deepened, their bodies pressed closer together, stumbling backward. They found themselves against the kitchen countertop, Mercedes' back pressed against it as Sam's hands softly tickled her sides, igniting a fire within her that she never knew existed. The heat between them was intoxicating, and their hunger for each other grew with every passing moment.

Breaking free from the kiss, Sam trailed his lips along Mercedes' jawline, leaving a trail of soft kisses that sent shivers down her spine. His hands found their way to her waist, pulling her impossibly closer. She was experiencing a completely new sensation, one that both thrilled and terrified her simultaneously. As the kiss continued, Mercedes pulled away, her mind spinning with a whirlwind of emotions. She stared into Sam's eyes, her breath coming in short gasps as she tried to process what the new feelings meant.

Sam, sensing her hesitation, furrowed his brow and gently placed his hand on her cheek. "Mercedes," he whispered softly, his voice filled with concern. "Are you okay?"

She took a step back, absently licking her lips. "Yeah... yes," she stammered, her voice trembling. "It's just...new, I guess."

Sam nodded understandingly, his eyes never leaving hers. "I understand. How about we go back downstairs, watch the movie?" He suggested.

Mercedes took a deep breath, trying to steady her racing heart. She nodded, grateful for Sam's understanding. "Yeah, that sounds like a good idea," she replied, her voice still shaky. "Let's go back downstairs."

They made their way back to the living room, where the rest of their friends were engrossed in the movie. Puck immediately noticed their return and smirked knowingly, but Kurt shot him a warning glare before turning his attention back to the screen.

Mercedes settled back into her seat, trying to shake off the intense emotions that still lingered from the kiss. She glanced at Sam, who was sitting beside her, his gaze filled with concern. She managed a small smile, silently thanking him for his patience and understanding.

As the movie played on, Mercedes couldn't help but feel a wave of gratitude wash over her. The chaotic evening had brought unexpected moments of joy and connection. And although her encounter with Sam had left her feeling both excited and nervous, she knew that she was exactly where she wanted to be.

With the movie playing on the screen and the laughter of their friends filling the room, Mercedes allowed herself to relax into the moment. She glanced over at Sam,his presence bringing her a newfound sense of comfort and happiness. She reached out and intertwined her fingers with his, feeling the warmth and reassurance of his touch.

Sam turned to look at her, a soft smile playing on his lips. "You okay?" he whispered, his voice filled with genuine concern.

Mercedes nodded, butterflies fluttering deep in her stomach. "I am," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper. "Thank you for being understanding."

Sam squeezed her hand gently. "Always," he murmured, his thumb caressing the back of her hand.

The rest of the evening passed in a blur of laughter, movie quotes, and stolen glances between Mercedes and Sam. Their connection grew deeper as they shared whispered conversations and secret smiles, their bond strengthening until it was time for the guys to leave.

The next morning, everyone went home promising to meet up for breakfast before school the following day. Kurt took Mercedes to pick up her car from the school parking lot. They both couldn't stop smiling as they talked about the memorable events of the weekend. "So..." Kurt said, pulling into the spot next to her car. "That was certainly an eventful weekend."

Mercedes nodded. "A lot of firsts that's for sure." She quipped, smiling. "Now I gotta go face my mom..."

Kurt chuckled softly. "Yeah, I bet she's gonna have a lot of questions," he said, leaning back in his seat. "But hey, at least we have some great stories to tell her, right?"

Mercedes nodded, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Definitely," she replied. "I mean, who would've thought that a simple weekend away could turn into all of this?" She gestured to the world outside the car, a world that seemed somehow brighter than it had been before.

Kurt glanced at Mercedes, a mischievous grin spreading across his face. "Oh, you have no idea," he teased, nudging her playfully. "There's something else I need to tell you."

Mercedes raised an eyebrow, curiosity evident in her expression. "What is it?" she asked, unable to hide her anticipation.

Kurt smirked and pulled out his phone. "Blaine and I...exchanged numbers," he revealed, wiggling his eyebrows suggestively.

Mercedes gasped, her eyes widening. "You did?!" she exclaimed, a wide smile spreading across her face. "Oh my gosh, Kurt! That's amazing!"

Kurt nodded, his grin growing even wider. "I know, right?" he replied, practically bouncing in his seat with excitement. "We really hit it off, and I can't wait to see where things go."

Mercedes clasped her hands together, feeling overwhelmingly happy for her friend. "I'm so glad, Kurt," she said sincerely. "You deserve all the happiness in the world."

Kurt leaned back in his seat, a dreamy look in his eyes. "And what about you, Mercedes?" he asked with a knowing glint. "Any sparks flying with Sam?"

Mercedes blushed at the mention of Sam's name, her mind flooded with memories of their stolen moments together. "Yeah," she admitted quietly, a shy smile tugging at her lips. "There's definitely something between us. I can't explain it, but it feels...right."

Kurt's eyes sparkled with excitement as he leaned in closer, his voice barely above a whisper. "Tell me everything," he urged. "I want to hear all the juicy details!"

Mercedes blushed even deeper, her heart racing at the thought of recounting the intimate moments she shared with Sam. But she trusted Kurt with her deepest secrets, and she knew he would listen without judgment. Taking a deep breath, she began to share the story of their passionate encounters, from the stolen kisses to the whispered confessions under the starlit sky.

As Mercedes spoke, Kurt's eyes widened with every detail and his expression turned from excitement to awe. "Mercedes," he said softly when she finished her tale, "that sounds... incredible. I've never seen you like this before."

Mercedes nodded, a dreamy smile gracing her lips. "I've never felt like this before," she confessed, her voice filled with a mix of excitement and vulnerability.

Kurt reached out and gently squeezed her hand, his eyes filled with genuine warmth. "I'm so happy for you, Mercedes," he said sincerely.

"Thank you, Kurt," she whispered. With that, Mercedes stepped out of the car, ready to face whatever awaited her. "Text me when you get home!"

Before Kurt could reply both of their phones went off, it was a message from Tina. "Did she text you too?" He asked and Mercedes nodded before opening the text and reading it out loud.

"Go check out Anthony Rashad's insta!" Mercedes read and Kurt immediately opened the app and searched for his page. Mercedes leaned over to get a better look, and they both gasped in surprise.

"Holy mother of Gaga! He posted a video of you singing!" Kurt exclaimed. "Holy shit, you look good"

Mercedes quickly grabbed his phone and watched the video in disbelief before reading the caption. "Epic party with badass singers, Mercy J killed it! Give my girl a follow." She handed Kurt his phone back. "What on earth is going on?"

Kurt watched the video again, beaming. "Mercy-me, it has been viewed over 100,000 times already! You're going viral!" he exclaimed, his eyes wide with excitement. "This is incredible, Mercedes!"

Mercedes couldn't believe her eyes. She watched the video once more, her heart pounding with a mix of excitement and nervousness. It was a recording of her performance at the party, and Kurt was right, she did look good. "I... I don't even know what to say," Mercedes stammered.

Kurt smirked. "Seems like Sam knows exactly what to say." he quipped. "He said and I quote, hell yeah, that's my girl, end quote. You better get ready for your life to change, cause he just claimed you on social media."

A rush of emotions washed over Mercedes when she read Sam's comment. She couldn't help but let out a breathless laugh, feeling a mix of embarrassment and happiness as her cheeks flushed. "I can hardly believe it... I have to leave, but please call me, alright?"

Kurt nodded, his eyes sparkling with excitement. "Of course! Bye!" He said, waving then pulling off. Mercedes got in her car, taking several deep breaths before heading home, her mind still reeling from everything that Mercedes drove home, her mind was consumed with thoughts of the whirlwind weekend and the unexpected turn of events. It was hard for her to wrap her mind around the fact that a simple party had resulted in so many pivotal moments in her life, and she couldn't deny the rush of excitement that coursed through her veins.
