A/N: I wanted to take this opportunity to answer a question I received from the last chapter. As far as Gjallarhorn and the what ifs of XDU are concerned, my plan for that is to do the main timeline first then do the XDU what if stories as sort of paralogues. (I may also do one as a crossover with the original timeline of Symphogear)
For now, I want to get the main story completed so I can go back and take my time on the Gjallarhorn and it's multiverse of scenarios.
With that out of the way, enjoy the chapter!
Part 1:
An inevitable disaster approaches, but suddenly...
Chapter 7:
Of Misfortune and Recklessness
Kana and Chris' POV:
City Park
Soon after the fight, Chris ran after Finé. Angered by Finé's betrayal, she decided to walk around the nearby park to calm down and reflect on Finé's words to her. "Why, Finé?" She said aloud to herself, still in disbelief that her fears had come true and she was alone again. She then reflects on the fight with Kana and Hibiki, remembering their various attempts to try and stop fighting.
"Like I said earlier, we aren't like the Noise. We can talk to each other."
"If we just talk to one another, we can come to understand each other! Because, we're all human here!"
"Those brats... dammit!" She said to herself, switching her anger to Kana and Hibiki "My mission is to beat every human that has the will and strength to fight. That way, wars will cease to happen. But-" She cut herself off, wincing from a sharp pain in her side, "What the hell is causing this stupid sharp pain?" Chris asked, annoyed by her wounds, "I could've sworn the punch I received from that one idiot already healed itself, so why does it still hurt?"
Unknown to Chris, that sharp pain was completely separate from the attack she thinks it was from. Nearby, Kana was watching Chris, figuring that she would go back to wherever it was this Finé lady was hiding. "Considering how she ran after her, I figured Chris-san would've gone straight back to Finé's base." Kana said quietly to herself, making sure that Chris couldn't notice her presence. "For now, I just have to hope that she doesn't remove the tracking dart."
During the fight with Chris' Symphogear, Ichaival, Kana managed to sneakily throw a tracking dart in between her various Dragon Shots, stabbing chris right in her hip in a non-fatal area.
Seconds later, both girls' trains of thought are interrupted by the sound of a young girl crying, "Stop crying! What good is that going to do?" another voice said, this one belonging to a slightly older boy.
Seeing that the girl was still crying, Chris approached the two, "Don't bully the weak!" she said, getting the boy's attention.
"I'm not bullying her! It's just that..." The boy tried to explain, interrupted by the girl starting to cry louder.
"I said don't bully her!" Chris shouted, preparing to attack the boy.
The boy went to block the incoming attack, but suddenly, the girl got in front of the boy to defend him. "Leave my brother alone!" She shouted.
"Wasn't he bullying you?" Chris asked the girl.
"No!" The girl replied, slightly sobbing.
"Our dad vanished." The boy explained, "We were trying to find him, but my sister was complaining about how long we were walking."
"So you're lost? Why didn't you just say so?" Chris asked.
"But... But..." The girl kept sobbing, which got on Chris' nerves.
"Would you stop crying already!" Chris angrily asked, which caused the boy to defend her younger sister, "Good grief, you two are going to be the death of me! Fine! I'll help you find your dad, so just shut up already!"
Kana couldn't help but chuckle at the circumstance Chris put herself in.
Taking the kids into the city, Chris started to quietly sing to herself. It didn't take long for the girl to notice this, "What is it kid?" Chris asked, seeing the girl stare at her.
"Do you like to sing?" She asks Chris.
"I despise it." She answers, then thinking about it to herself, "Especially my song, seeing it's only good for destroying."
Soon after, the boy sees their dad at the police station, causing him and the girl to go to him, "Where were you two?" the dad asks.
"This lady got us lost." The girl says
"No she didn't." The boy corrects his sister, "She helped us look for you."
"I'm sorry to have troubled you." The dad says to Chris, thanking her for finding his kids.
"No worries, it was nothing." Chris replies. The dad then turns to his kids, having them thank Chris for her help. "You two get along surprisingly well." Chris says to the girl, "Tell me, how do you do that?"
"Not sure... We fight a lot." The boy responds.
"Yeah, we fight a lot. But we make up again, so we're able to get along!" The girl continues. This surprises Chris.
Kana watches the scene from the nearby alleyway, happy to see Chris do good things. As much as she'd like to focus purely on Chris, she remembers the shock from Miku's face when she and Hibiki transformed. "I imagine when I get back, Miku will probably be upset that I hid this life from her." She reflects to herself, "I've even more certain that Hibiki's got the worst of Miku's anger from this whole ordeal. I just hope everything will be okay, even though the truth is out there now..."
Miku and Hibiki's POV:
Lydian
The next day, Hibiki and Miku went to class. Hibiki still felt guilty about not being able to tell Miku the truth, this guilt was increased by the fact that Miku was purposely ignoring Hibiki. During lunch, Hibiki tried to make things right by talking with Miku, but this silence between them had caught the attention of their other friends as Yumi, Kuriyo, and Shiori came to confront them.
"You can smell how awkward it is here." Shiori said.
"What do you mean by that?" Yumi asked, confused by her friend's analogy, "Could you put it in anime terms so I can understand?"
"Regardless, Bikki's definitely in the wrong." Kuriyo says, "Come on, Miku. Just forgive that blockhead."
"I remember the teacher said something about the reports too." Shiori mentions.
"You're the only person in the class who hasn't turned them in yet." Yumi adds, "They're not even that much work. Just what do you do in your freetime?"
"Maybe Bikki's working a secret job?" Kuriyo guesses. This causes the three to discuss that theory aloud, much to Miku's growing discomfort. Eventually, it gets to a point that it causes Miku to get up from her seat and run off.
Hibiki immediately chases after her. "This is all my fault!" She thinks to herself, chasing Miku to the rooftop of the building. Reaching the top, Hibiki sees Miku standing in the middle of the rooftop, "Miku! I'm sorry."
"Why are you apologizing?" Miku asks.
"You said you wouldn't hide anything from me, yet I lied and kept secrets from you..." Hibiki answers.
She tries to apologize again, but Miku is quick to stop her, "Don't say it!" She interrupts, turning to walk to the door behind Hibiki, "I don't think... I can be you or Kana's friend anymore. I'm sorry!" She says, running off with tears streaming down her face.
Hearing her best friend say this, Hibiki couldn't hold back her tears, "Why... I don't... I don't want this..." Hibiki says to herself, overwhelmed with sadness. "I'm already concerned for Kana, now this... Why am I so cursed?"
Kana and Chris' POV:
Finé's Mansion
While this all happened at Lydian, Kana was following Chris to Finé's headquarters. After walking through the forest for what seemed like days, Kana finally sees where Chris was heading, a mansion in the woods, "A mansion? This Finé must be very rich to be able to afford this kind of secretive lifestyle." Kana remarks to herself, "Well, no time for sightseeing. I need to find out just who we're dealing with. Not to mention, if Finé really meant what she said and she no longer sees Chris-san as an ally, she could be walking straight into a deadly situation." Waiting long enough for Chris to get into the mansion, Kana emerges from the forest and enters the mansion, making sure to not lose Chris inside.
"Call me useless, will she?" Chris says, determined to confront Finé, "That bitch is in for a world of pain for betraying me!"
Following her down the halls, Kana starts to overhear a woman speaking to someone over the phone. "I know this was first decided from us, but what I'm trying to say is that your work is way too sloppy." The woman says, "We'll be trapped if we get traced. Or is that what you intend to do?"
Kana tries to listen in to find out who this woman was talking to, her voice sounding somewhat familiar. However, her attention was immediately changed when she heard the sound of a door being violently opened. "What exactly did you mean when you said I'm useless to you now?!" Chris said, clearly furious with her ex-boss, "Do you mean you don't need me, or was I always just some toy to you?!" She continues, "My head is all messed up and I have no clue what's right or wrong anymore!"
Irritated, Finé hangs up her phone, "Why will no one do what I want them to?" She says with a sigh before standing up and firing Solomon's Cane at Chris. Seeing the Noise, Chris hesitates to use her Ichaival. "Is this not a good time to use your power?" Finé rhetorically asks Chris. "You know, the way you go about trying to end wars has no hope of working. Every time you crushed someone, you only sowed more seeds of discord."
"But you were the one that told me!" Chris interjects, "You said I could end all this pain and suffering with what you..."
"Even with that Symphogear I gave you, you were still as useful as a mere flea. Probably less than even that." Finé interrupts, "I think it's time I finally put an end to this." Saying this, Finé causes her hand to glow, causing her armor to manifest. "I am immortal, my armor eternal, and I shall live until even the stars die. Soon, even the Kadingir will be complete. Compared to the power I have and shall soon possess, you are nothing."
"Kadingir?" Chris says, curious to Finé's plans.
"You know too much now. Farewell." Finé says, pointing Solomon's Cane towards Chris, ordering the Noise to kill her.
Chris manages to dodge the Noise to the best of her ability. Why she tried to escape the Noise as best as she could, she trips on the balcony, cornered by Finé and the Noise. "Damn you... Damn you!" She screamed as Noise closed in on her. Just when everything seemed to be over for Chris, a voice was heard from behind Finé and a grey flash of light ran towards Chris.
"You are the ocean's grey waves."
(Alight Begins to play)
From the mysterious light came Kana, clad in her Yato Symphogear, cutting through the Noise while protecting Chris. Opening her eyes, Chris is shocked to not only see that she was still alive, but that she was saved by Kana, "You again?"
"You're welcome, again." Kana teases Chris, who turns away flustered.
"I didn't ask for your help!" Chris retorts, much to Kana's annoyance.
"Well, well, well. If it isn't Kana Kamui." Finé says, much to Kana's surprise. "Don't act surprised, your power has been a great interest of mine for quite some time, as well as your friend Hibiki Tachibana."
"So, you're Finé?" Kana asks.
"That is correct." Finé answers, "As you might've heard from Chris-kun here, she was supposed to take you and Hibiki to me personally. However, seeing that she failed several times to do what should've been a simple task, she is no longer useful to me. Now that I have this power, even you and Hibiki are nothing to me now."
Kana tries to talk to Finé, but is immediately met with Finé summoning even more Noise to attack her and Chris. "Gods... Just what is this woman?" Kana murmurs to herself. Realizing that she only risks their safety from staying, Kana grabs Chris and jumps off the balcony.
"Let go of me you idiot!" Chris shouts. Kana ignores Chris' request, focusing on escaping Finé.
The Forest
A hour later, after getting some distance from the mansion, Kana stops to let go of Chris, "If we continue on foot, she'll just keep sending Noise after us." Kana says, "Can you buy me some time and fend off the Noise while I do something?"
Chris looks at Kana, confused, "Just what the hell are you planning?" She asks.
"Just trust me!" Kana vaguely answers.
Annoyed, Chris agrees to buy Kana some time.
"Killiter Ichaival tron."
(Makyū Ichaival begins to play)
Chris readies her guns to attack the incoming Noise, mowing them down with every bullet she can fire. "You better not take your sweet time with this plan of yours, or I'll kill you before the Noise can even scratch you! Am I clear?"
"Crystal." Kana replies, going to focus on her plan: teleporting far away from the forest.
Chris does what she can to hold back the Noise, but there's no end to them. After what could've easily been around half an hour, Chris finally gets impatient. "What's taking so damn long idiot?"
"Almost done!" Kana replies, "And stop calling me an idiot!"
"You start doing something smart, then I'll stop!" Chris retorts.
A few minutes later, Kana finally finishes charging her teleportation spell, "I'm ready!" Kana shouts, "Grab onto me and we'll get out of here!"
"About damn time!" Chris replies, grabbing Kana's shoulder.
"Here goes nothing!" Kana says, casting her teleportation spell and causing herself and Chris to disappear from view.
"You can run." Finé says aloud to herself, "But I will find you, Chris Yukine. Not even your new friend is safe."
Suburban Area 6
A light suddenly flashes in the back alleys of a nearby suburban area. When the light disappears, Kana and Chris stumble out from it. Getting up from the ground, Kana and Chris were surprised to not see the forest anymore. "Yes! The spell worked!" Kana shouts with glee, both girls embracing one another in a hug.
"Hell yeah!" Chris responds. When the rush from the moment wears off, Chris instantly realizes what she was doing and pushes Kana away from her, embarrassed that she did that. "...I guess you aren't THAT much of an idiot... Thanks." Chris says, trying to act tough. This only causes Kana to give Chris a smug look. "The hell are you looking at me like that for?" Chris asks.
"No reason." Kana says, "Just happy that you finally thanked me for saving you. Third time's the charm after all." Kana chuckles after saying this, causing Chris to go from embarrassed to annoyed. "In all seriousness though, thank you for buying me time to pull that off."
"Hmph. We just had a common enemy, no need to thank me for something any of your friends, especially that one idiot, could've easily done as well." Chris retorts.
"If we're both fighting Finé, then you should come with me back to Section Two." Kana suggests, "You know her better than anyone there, surely you would be a great help in fighting her."
"Pass." Chris says immediately, "Last thing I need is to surround myself with more people that could just use me and throw me away once my usefulness ends."
"Section Two isn't like Finé, Chris-san." Kana remarks, "Just look at Hibiki for example. When she started out with her Symphogear, she was always having others help her out. By your logic, she should've been abandoned by Section Two months ago. But she wasn't, and thanks to that, she's the strong warrior she is today."
Chris hesitates to counter Kana's claim, but when she is about to say her retort, the air is filled with the sound of Noise approaching their position. "I thought you managed to get us away from the Noise. How in the hell did they find us so quickly?" Chris asks, taking advantage of the Noise's appearance to change the subject.
"It should've." Kana answers, "Looks like we have no choice now but to deal with them."
Chris is annoyed at the thought of having to fight alongside someone, but reluctantly agrees. "Just stay out of my way if you don't wish to be shot to death." Kana nods, readying herself for the approaching Noise.
Serena's POV:
Astral Plane
Having the day off from work, Kanade, Tsubasa, and Serena decided to train together in the Astral Plane. After intense training in the simulator, the girls decided to relax, taking the time to catch up with one another. "I know we've known this place for a couple of years now. But I still can't believe Lilith-san's Fólkvangr is able to access this place." Kanade remarks, "Sure is handy when it comes to storing whatever you want to keep safe. In a way, I'm kinda jealous that you, Lilith-san and Kana-chan live in a place like this Serena."
"Thanks, Kanade." Serena replies, thankful for the compliment, "I'm just glad that we're able to use this for Section Two's benefit as well as my own."
"Indeed." Tsubasa adds in agreement, "Speaking of Kamui, any word about her whereabouts?"
"Nothing yet, I'm afraid." Serena says, "All we've managed to deduce is that, during the fight with Chris Yukine, Kana's communicator was damaged and any chance to contact her through it is unsuccessful."
"I'm sure Kana's fine, you guys." Lilith interjects, bringing refreshments for the girls after their training. "My guess is Kana's determined to get Chris-chan on our side. She reminds me of her father in that regard." She chuckles to herself, remembering her brother's stubbornness. "Besides, if Kana wanted to come back, I'm certain she would've by now."
The girls agree with Lilith's statement, "Kana-chan never took me for the kind of person to just drop dead anyways. So I'm sure you're right, Lilith-san." Kanade remarks, "Speaking of, Kana-chan's dad and you are siblings right? What exactly is he like?"
"Well, to be blunt, he's a lot like Kana is." Lilith describes, "She sees her father as a sort of role model, so in a way, Kana's the best example of what Corrin is like."
"He sounds like he is an amazing father to Kana." Serena remarks.
"I hope we're able to meet Corrin-san one of these days." Kanade adds, "I gotta see for myself how similar those two are." Tsubasa and Serena nod in agreement, curious to Lilith's claim as well.
The group chats amongst themselves for a while, enjoying both their refreshments as well as each other's company. "Gotta say, it was nice to be able to hang out like this again." Kanade says. "Tsubasa and I should probably head back to our dorm now. Goodnight you two!"
"Goodnight, Kanade-chan and Tsubasa-chan." Lilith replies, seeing the idols off as they leave the astral plane. Once they leave, Lilith notices Serena's worry. "Are you okay, Serena?"
"Hm? Oh, yeah. I'm fine." Serena answers, "Just a little worried about Kana, to be honest. I know she's surely fine out there, but I still can't help but worry."
Lilith puts her hand on Serena's shoulder, "Like I said earlier, I'm sure she's just doing what she can to try and get Chris-chan on our side." She restates, reassuring Serena that her younger sister is fine, "Besides, it's not like she ran into a swarm of Noise. If that happened, we would've gotten an alert from HQ."
Serena chuckles at Lilith's joke. "You're right Lilith." She says, "I'm sure we'll find Kana as soon as tomorrow."
"That's the spirit." Lilith says, happy to see Serena in a better mood. "Now then, it's getting late. We should turn in for the night so we can continue the search for her sooner than later. Goodnight Serena."
"Goodnight Lilith." Serena replies back, heading to her room to get some rest.
Kana and Chris' POV:
Suburban Area 6
(Makyū Ichaival Starts to play)
For several hours, Kana and Chris have been fighting off hordes of Noise to no end. Eventually they started to notice the horde lessen in numbers. "Heh... heh... heh... I... I think we're nearly out of this nightmare." Kana states, exhausted from all of the fighting.
"We damn well better be." Chris sharply remarks, "This is getting very annoying to keep up with."
Finally, after the last few Noise that were pursuing them were destroyed, the two drop out of their transformations, walking into an alleyway to get away from any other Noise that could still be out there.
"Thank... the Gods... that's over..." Kana says, barely able to stand from exhaustion.
"You can... say that again..." Chris adds, stopping Kana before she actually does it.
"I'm... so tired..." Kana groans, dropping to the ground and passing out. Seconds later, Chris does the exact same thing. As far as they were concerned, neither Finé nor anyone that would bring harm to them were close. Unknown to them, their chatter before passing out was overheard by a passerby. Blurrily, Kana was able to see the passerby, slightly recognizing them from the Lydian school uniform and the bow on the back of their head. "M-Miku...?" Kana muttered before becoming fully unconscious next to Chris.
Hibiki's POV:
Lydian
Hibiki was on her way to class when she received a call from Genjuro, "Was it the Noise?" Hibiki asks her commander and sensei.
"Yes. We are detecting massive emanations from the Noise in Suburban Area 6." Genjuro reports over the phone. "Thankfully, this incident took place very early in the morning, so there are no casualties. However, amidst the Noise, we were able to detect traces of both the Yato relic as well as the lost relic number two, Ichaival."
Hibiki immediately understands what this could mean. "That means... Kana and Chris were fighting the Noise there?" Hibiki asks.
"More than likely." Genjuro replies, noticing a sigh from Hibiki on the other end of the call. "Is everything alright?"
"I was just thinking..." Hibiki says, "Chris-chan probably doesn't have a home to go back to..."
"Maybe so." Genjuro replies, thinking Hibiki might be onto something. "Regardless, we will continue our investigation into this incident. Stand by until further orders arrive."
"Understood sensei." Hibiki replies, hanging up the phone and proceeding to the classroom. When she arrives, she notices something's off. "Miku?"
"Isn't Kohinata coming to school today, Hibiki?" Shiori asks, just as confused as Hibiki.
"I'm not sure." Hibiki replies, "She went on ahead of me, but..."
"We want to apologize for what we said the other day." Kuriyo interjects, grabbing Hibiki's arm "I've felt guilty about it ever since!"
"If we were in an anime, what would we do?" Yumi thinks aloud.
"Can't you take this a little more seriously, Yumi?" Shiori says, lecturing her friend.
This causes Hibiki to chuckle a bit, but her mind instantly goes back to Miku, "Miku... Wherever you are... We can't keep going on like this..." Hibiki says to herself.
"By the way, Bikki. Any idea where Mui's been?" Kuriyo asks, "She's been gone ever since yesterday and no one knows where she went off to."
Hibiki shrugs, "Not a clue. Sorry."
"Hopefully, Kana shows back up once Miku does." Shiori adds.
"I wouldn't be surprised if Kana went off on some magical quest like an anime protagonist." Yumi theorizes, getting annoyed looks from Shiori and Kuriyo, "I'm just saying..."
Miku's POV:
Flower
After seeing both Kana and Chris in the alleyway, Miku brought their unconscious bodies to Flower, where she was conveniently heading already, after going to get some assistance to carry them inside. Chris was the first to wake up, sitting up in a cold sweat. After catching her breath, she checks out her surroundings, seeing Kana unconscious in a nearby futon while another girl sat next to her bed with a wet rag in her hands. "Thank goodness." Miku exclaimed, "You finally regained consciousness. Your clothes were soaked, so I gave you some of mine."
"You did what?!" Chris says in shock, standing up from the bed, much to the shock of Miku, "What is it?"
"W-Well, I thought about giving you my underwear, but I figured that'd be a bit too far..." Miku says. Chris instantly realizing what she meant by that and quickly wraps herself in the blanket out of embarrassment.
Suddenly an older woman appears outside of the room with a load of laundry, "Miku-chan, how're your friends?" The Lady asks.
"One of them just came to!" Miku answers, "Thanks again for the blankets and everything."
"Don't worry about it." The Lady replies, "Also, I gave your friends clothes a wash." Saying this, the Lady holds up Chris' clothes from within the basket.
"I'll help you hang them out to dry." Miku says, going with the Lady to hang out the laundry.
Soon after they left, Kana groaned as she started to wake up, catching Chris' attention. "C-Chris-san? Where-?" Kana asks as she starts to stand up.
"I-I wouldn't stand up if I were you!" Chris interrupts, remembering that the Lady also put Kana's clothes up to dry.
"What are you...?" Kana was about to ask, before seeing underneath her blanket, glowing beet red in embarrassment, and tightly wrapping the blanket around herself, "O-Oh... I see..." Kana whispers, trying to keep herself calm.
"At least you weren't awake when I made that discovery." Chris remarks, much to Kana's confusion.
Just before Kana asks what she meant, Miku came back to the room they were both in. "Kana! Thank goodness you're okay as well!" Miku exclaims.
"Miku?" Kana says, surprised to see her friend. "Where are we?"
"We're at Flower." Miku replies, "After I saw you and... umm..."
"Chris. Chris Yukine." Chris says, properly introducing herself to Miku.
"When I saw you and Chris in the alleyway, I went to get help and brought you two here to get better." Miku continues.
After explaining this, Miku went to wash off Chris and Kana's bruises. "Um. Thank you." Chris shyly says to Miku, who nods in response. "You're a quiet one."
"Well, I'm no good with words." Miku states, "I tried to hold on to my most cherished relationship, but I only managed to break what was most dear to me."
Kana hears this and looks to Miku, worried about what she did. "You mean, you had a sort of fight with someone?" Chris asks. Miku nods in agreement, causing Kana's heart to sink even lower in her chest.
The rest of the washing is rather quiet between the group. It wasn't until after Kana and Chris got dressed into their clothes that someone spoke up again. "A fight... I don't really understand that." Chris remarks to Miku's earlier comment.
"Have you never had a fight with a friend?" Miku asks.
"I don't have any friends." Chris solemnly states, "My parents were halfway around the world when they were taken from me. Ever since then, I've always been alone. So I've never had any friends." This makes Kana and Miku feel bad for Chris. "Even then, the one person I thought understood me was just using me all this time. No one has ever treated me as an equal."
"Chris-san..." Kana mutters.
"Adults are all trash." Chris continues. "They never listened to anything I ever said. When I said I was hurt, when I begged them to stop, they wouldn't listen!" Hearing this, Miku apologizes to Chris. "Hey. Whoever it was you fought with, beat the shit out of them." This causes both Kana and Miku to look at Chris with confusion. "Once you show them who's boss, everything'll be settled and you two can make up."
"I couldn't do that..." Miku says, getting a scoff from Chris, "But, thank you."
"Huh? But I didn't do anything." Chris replies, unsure of what she did to deserve Miku's thanks.
"No. Thank you for caring about me, Chris." Miku adds, "You're not a bad person." This catches Chris by surprise, but she turns to the window to think about what Miku said. "My name's Miku Kohinata and, if it's alright with you..." Miku holds Chris' hand, much to her surprise, "I'd very much like for us to be friends. I'm sure Kana feels the same way."
Chris looks over to Kana, who is smiling in agreement to Miku's claim. However, Chris can't accept their offer, letting go of Miku's hand and running to the door, "I did terrible things to you. Both of you." Chris says, confusing Miku but Kana knows what she's referring to.
Soon after, a siren goes off. The four go outside of Flower to investigate, being met with the sounds of people screaming, children crying, and everyone panicking as they seek shelter. "What's going on?!" Chris asks.
"What do you mean?" Miku asks in response, "It's the Noise! Don't you recognize that siren?"
Chris grits her teeth, running in the opposite direction of the crowd, much to Miku's surprise. "Chris!"
"Miku! We need to get to shelter!" Kana says, catching Miku's attention. Miku knows that it's best for them to get to safety, but she can't help but worry about her friend. "I'm sure Chris-san will be okay. For now, we need to make sure we can survive."
As much as Miku wishes she could go after Chris, Kana was right. "alright..." Miku solemnly agrees, "Let's go!"
As they run to seek shelter, Kana thinks back to what she said while washing Chris' back. "Miku... I know this is a bad time to talk about it, but what did you say to Hibiki?"
Miku is quiet at first, a little guilty about what she did, but she answers. "I... I lashed out at her for keeping secrets from me."
Kana was afraid to ask her next question, but she needed to quell her own fears. "You two are still friends though, right?" Miku is quiet. While she didn't answer Kana's question verbally, the silence was more than enough of an answer. "Miku..." Before she could say anything else, suddenly, a big Noise strikes at them.
Kana tries to activate her relic, but the Noise wasn't giving her the chance. "Quick! Into that building!" Miku shouts. Kana is left with no choice but to follow Miku and the Flower Lady.
As they enter and try to run for the stairs, the Noise breaks through the roof of the incomplete building. Miku screams from the Noise's sudden entrance, causing it to strike at her. Thanks to Kana shoving her out of the way, the attack barely misses them and collides with the ground, causing it to collapse underneath them. Getting up from the fall, Kana tries to look for the others. "M-Miku? Are you oka-" Kana tries to ask, before being attacked by a tentacle, dodging it just in time.
Kana goes to attempt her transformation again, but Miku stops her, "It's too dangerous." Miku whispers, "If you sing, it could cause the Noise to attack us again."
The three were stuck, running out of options to get out of their predicament. Just when everything seemed hopeless, footsteps could be heard entering the building. "Hello? Is anyone there?" The voice said, followed by the roar of the Noise and flying debris. When the dust cleared, Miku and Kana were surprised by who they saw: Hibiki.
A/N: Time to explain something for this scenario.
In this scenario, seeing that it follows the events of Fire Emblem Fates' Revelation route, I'd imagine eventually Lilith would work up the courage to tell Corrin that they are their sister. Though, if you ask me, there should've been a scene, even if just a support conversation, where she would tell Corrin this.
Figured I should clear that up in advance. Anyway, See you all in the next chapter!
