The following chapter has some parts that are accurate to the S4 episode called "Gang of Secrets". But is interpreted into the story with its own twist. Chapter 3 will be when Marinette finally tells Luka that she is Ladybugh.

Why was Chat Noir such in a good mood when he tricked her into going to the movies? Just because she was becoming more anxious. Despite everything happening, thankfully the kwamis were of help. Then again, they were quite curious about the new world. And she felt like she was babysitting them. How did Tikki even deal with them? Or even Plagg? She really had to applaud those two. Perhaps even get some pointers from the both of them.

The spotted heroine had her arms crossed over her chest. The movie she was watching with Chat and the other people around her was just stupid. "Are you kidding me?!" She stood up abruptly. "Don't tell him anything, you fool!" She aggressively pointed at the screen with an irritated look on her face.

"Could you keep it down, M'Lady?" The black cat hero whispered, pulling her down by the arm with both of his hands.

She sat back down, still rather irritated by the movie. Making hand gestures in front of herself, she says, "Romantic comedy are lame anyway. She then turns her head and points at his chest before reaching one of her hands out at the movie screen. "You know why? Totally unrealistic." She quickly clasps her hands together, going on and on about well the movie. "In real life the girl would take forever to tell a guy she loves him without stuttering. Blah, blah, blah. So how could she know if he loves her back? It's impossible! So then she can decide she can never ever be with him and then bam!" She clenched her fists. "Falls in love with another guy and that everything is so cool. Almost too easy."

As Ladybug went on and on about the movie, Chat's face contorted into different facial expressions.

"No stuttering, no hold hands, get all kissy kissy, and then surprise!" She stood up with her hands spread out all regally. "She has secrets and he hates secrets, of course. So that's a break up and everyone lives unhappily ever after. The end." She takes a seat back down with a drink in her left hand, "And that's why romantic comedies are so lame." The ladybug themed superhero brought the drink up to her face and took an aggressive sip from the it.

Perhaps that was a little overboard. Was she still angry from her breakup with Luka?

"So sorry. We'll be going now." Chat urged her out of the movie theatre.

Once out of the theatre, she found herself saying more about romantic comedies. To stay away from them. What was her deal today? Was her personal life getting too much for her? She was still pushing away her friends and family. She was starting to push away Chat Noir too.

Chat Noir trailed behind Ladybug in worry. "Listen, M'Lady. I didn't get everything you said and obviously, I know nothing about your private life, but I do know what heartbreak sounds and feels like and-"

"Heartbreak?" She turned to him. One of her hands placed on her chest. "Me?" She had started to sarcastically laugh about it, but recovered too quickly. Something was really up with her. And she knew she couldn't keep pretending everything was alright. One way or another, she was going to break soon from all the stress.

"You know, I'm here for you."

A few akuma fights ago, she and Chat Noir made up. It felt good that she made up with him because it was starting to bite away at her to the point where she found herself crying during the evenings.

To hear this from him..., it meant a lot to her, but still. She couldn't bring herself to talk about anything. For a long time, she longed for Adrien. Dreamed about having a family and hamster with him. Since becoming guardian, she was starting to realize that her actions were a little creepy. A little stalkerish. A crazy obsessed fangirl who knew everything before he did. Now that was creepy. Just thinking about having someone who was that obsessed about her made her have shiver.

She gives him a weak and exhausted smile, "Thank you, Chat. For now, I think we should go our separate ways. I need to take care of somethings regarding my personal life." She throws her yo-yo elsewhere. She waves him a goodbye. Then grunts as she flings herself into the sky.

Relief washed over her once she returned home. She didn't have to pretend anymore. But something greatly pained her. The wall next to her bed was filled with pictures of Adrien, Luka, and her friends. With a sad frown across her face, she turned herself away.

The kwamis of the Miracle Box she watched looked at her with worry.

Ziggy, the goat kwami raised her arms to her face in sadness. "It's so sad!"

Barkk, the dog kwami seemed to agree as they looked at the collage of photos Marinette had. "I told you we should have taken those photos down."

Ziggy and Barkk went to take down the pictures, only to be stopped by Marinette who was still transformed.

She extended her hand out to stop them, "I'm not sad." She was lying to herself. Having those photos up gave her such sweet memories. "And the photos don't bother me at all. I'm fine." She wasn't fine. "They're just shots of fashion and friends." The bluenette wiped her face with one arm. While she spoke to the kwamis, her voice quivered. "I like fashion and I love my friends. So, it's all good." She brought her knees to her chest. Why was she still pretending like she was okay around the kwamis? They were going to be with her forever or until there was another guardian. She wasn't okay. She was an emotional mess.

"There's no problem, see?" More tears make their way down her face. She sniffled slightly and laid back down on her bed, holding herself.

"Hmm." Barkk wondered. They flew off, followed by Ziggy.

The worst thing was that she was keeping secrets from her friends. She wasn't telling anyone anything. Not like it was important anyways. She just didn't want to put anyone else in danger. It was her worry that was leading her to have great fears like this.

She shifted on her bed, turning to lay on her stomach with her face buried into one of her pillows. To her right side, she has her phone face up.

Her phone rings and vibrates. The caller id belongs to her best friend Alya.

She turned her head to look at her phone.

Alya. Her best girl friend. Hadn't she gotten tired of Marinette because she had started pushing the people closest to her away?

After all, she deserved to be alone, right?

She knew it wasn't healthy to bottle herself up like this. She should talk to her friends. They cared about her. She should be able to tell them what was going on, but Shadowmoth was a major threat to the city.

So, she decides to not answer her phone.

Her friends would be fine.

The least she could do was listen to the voicemail Alya left.

"Hey Marinette, it's us."

"Hi there!" Rose, Alix, Juleka, and Mylene's voices were filled with enthusiasm.

"We were just calling to tell you that we're here for you if you need to talk whenever you want, wherever you want. Call us back!"

"We love you! Big hugs!"

The voicemail ended.

She should have been happy that her friends were at least still worried about her. It meant that they still cared about her despite what she was doing. But hearing that voicemail only brought a greater sadness to her heart.

Several of the kwamis were floating over her.

Barkk was the first to say something. "We've got to do something!"

"We need Tikki!" Wayzz exclaimed.

"I got this," Trixx, the kwami of illusion flew over to Ladybug. She had a calming voice. She was floating just above Marinette's phone. "Why aren't you using the talking light box to speak to your friends?"

"About what?" Ladybug's head remained buried into her pillow, "Everything's fine."

Trixx flew to Ladybug's left side. "Don't you think you should de-transform then?"

"No. I'm better off like this." She raised her head up. Her tears had stopped in that moment. "If Shadowmoth attacks Paris, I'll be ready for action at any time." She laid her head back down.

"Yes," the fox kwami moved to face Ladybug who's face was buried into her pillow once more. "But what about Tikki? She might need to rest a bit and maybe eat something."

Her head shot up. "Oh no! Tikki!" Had she really been that selfish? Kwamis were magical creatures, but they still needed to have breaks too. She quickly sat up and held her hands out. "Spots off!"

The kwami of creation flew out of her earring and into her waiting hands. She sat on her holder's hands with a tired look.

"Are you okay, Tikki?" She tried to hold her tears back.

"Better than you, Marinette." the kwami of creation replied as she lifted her head to look at the bluenette. "We should have a little talk." She smiles softly as Marinette frowns.

After Tikki said that, Marinette was quick to get her kwami something to eat. To at least see Tikki healthy, that brightened up her day slightly. She hung her head slightly as she sat on her bed. "As long as I'm Ladybug, I can't have loved ones in my life."

"What makes you say that, Marinette?"

"You know why. I had to break up with Luka because I couldn't tell him the truth. It would be the same thing with Adrien. I can't share my secret with either of them. I can't be honest with my closest friends and my parents, I can't tell them anything." Her voice shook as tears started to well up in her eyes again. "I'm doomed to be a big liar to everyone forever." She buried her head into her knees. "What do I do, Tikki?"

Tikki, along with some of her fellow kwamis looked at Marinette with sad faces. "I wish I could tell you, but kwamis don't fall in love."

"You see," she looked up from her knees. "No one can help me. My life as Marinette is too complicated. I should just be Ladybug all of the time! Tikki, spots on!" She reached for the opening of her balcony window and climbed out.

"Marinette!" Alya's voice called out.

The kwamis gasped and looked at the door that led to the rest of the house. They immeaditly hid themselves in the Miracle Box that was hidden by a dollhouse.

Ladybug stood on the balcony with a confident pose. From the balcony, she yelled, "What are you waiting for, Shadowmoth?! Here I am!" She sighed deeply and hung her head once more. Doing all of this wasn't going to help herself or Chat Noir defeat Shadowmoth. The stress of being guardian continued to eat away at her. She opened her balcony door and hopped back on her bed.

"Marinette?"

The ladybug themed hero gasped sharply and quietly called off her transformation with Tikki out of sight.

"Marinette!" Alya smiled.

"What are you doing here?"

"We're just checking in on you, girl."

"Awh, it looks just like a real house!"

The bluenette's head turned quickly when she heard about the dollhouse. She leaped from her bed and towards her group of friends. "NO! Don't touch that!" She had pushed Rose out the way and stood in front of the dollhouse. "Move away!"

Her friends gasped at her reaction.

"Sorry, Marinette!" Rose exclaimed. She knelt down at the cardboard roof she had dropped.

"Will you please get out of my room?"

Alya walked behind the group of girls, "Chill out, Marinette. It's just a dollhouse. We'll totally help."

"No you won't." She had started to get defensive. "Please go."

Her best friend Alya was also getting defensive as well. "Okay, Marinette. There's clearly something wrong and we're not leaving you like this until you tell us what it is." She crossed her arms over her chest.

Why couldn't they just leave her to wallow in sadness?

"Each of us told our secrets to this bracelet." Mylene held up the bracelet with both of her hands. "It's your turn now," she said kindly.

"The only thing wrong right now is you guys still hanging out in my room which is not cool."

When Marinette said that, they all frowned.

Alya had taken the bracelet from Mylene's hands and held it out with her own. "If we were really your friends, you can confide in us."

"Real friends don't ever let each other down," Rose added.

The dollhouse Marinette had created was starting to fall apart. Her eyes darted to the dollhouse to her friends. "Well then maybe I don't want you guys to be my friends! Get out!"

Her friends gasped. Juleka was the first to start leaving her room, followed by the rest of the girls except for Alya who stayed behind for a moment before doing the same thing as the rest. Alya gave her a sad look before climbing down the stairs with the rest of them.

Marinette had an angry look on her face before she looked down in shame and guilt. Once Alya left, she fell onto her knees.

Tikki appeared by her side. Same with the rest of the kwamis.

"I have no choice, Tikki. I had to do it." Hot tears started rolling down her face.

"I know, Marinette." the kwmai of creation held sadness and sympathy in her voice.

"At least now, I won't have to lie anymore since I finally pushed everyone away. No one will ever want to be my friend anymore."
