FESTIVAL TROUBLE

When Kiba and his family granted Naruto the ability to understand Haruto, it deepened their friendship even more. Now, they were best friends, Naruto's first best friend, alongside Haruto and Teuchi of course. So when Kiba invited him to a festival that happened only once every ten years, he knew he couldn't say no.

Kiba and Naruto played tons of carnival games, and that was until Kiba needed to head home. When Naruto was about to leave, he saw a ninja running on the rooftop carrying something that seemed heavy. Naruto seemed worried, "Is that a thief? I have to go stop him!" Naruto thought as he rushed onto the rooftop.

"You're going to get us killed" Haruto said with a small sigh.

As Naruto and Haruto jumped onto the rooftop, they found themselves face to face with the lightning ninja. Naruto's heart pounded in his chest; his hands shook with fear and adrenaline. He knew he couldn't defeat the ninja, but he had to do something to protect himself and whatever was inside the bag.

With a deep breath, Naruto tried to act tough. "Hey, you! put that bag down! What are you doing?"

The lightning ninja turned to face Naruto, a sinister grin on his face. "Well, well, what do we have here? A little brat trying to play hero? How adorable!"

Naruto gulped, but he didn't back down. He had to stall the ninja until help arrived. He would never gave up. "I won't let you get away with that!"

The ninja chuckled. "You're a brave one, I'll give you that. But you're no match for me."

With what seemed to be lightning-fast speed, the ninja lunged at Naruto, delivering a powerful kick that sent him flying backward. Naruto crashed against the rooftop, groaning in pain.

Haruto barked fiercely, trying to protect his friend, but the ninja simply laughed and kicked the pup away effortlessly.

Haruto skidded across the roof tiles but then he started to emit a pink chakra that surrounded his body.

Slowly, his fur spiked and his teeth sharpened as he let out a growl, "I'll kill you for that" Haruto said with a deep bark.

He then rushed at the ninja in a pink blur and appeared to be biting his arm.

"Ahh! Dumb fox!" The ninja said as he used lightning chakra nature to zap Haruto unconscious.

"Haruto!" Naruto yelled with a cry.

"Stop, you wretched ninja!" A voice called out from behind.

Naruto looked up to see Hiashi Hyuga, the head of the Hyuga Clan, approaching; his Byakugan activated. Relief washed over him as he knew he wouldn't have to face the lightning ninja alone.

The lightning ninja scowled, realizing he was outmatched. The ninja dropped the bag from his good arm and let out another scowl, "You got lucky this time, brat. But I'll be back!" With that, he disappeared in a storm cloud shunshin.

Naruto let out a sigh of relief as he sat up, clutching his bruised side. "Thank you," he said. "If you hadn't come when you did, I don't know what would have happened."

Hiashi approached Naruto with a stern expression. "You shouldn't have taken on such a dangerous task alone, Naruto. You could have been seriously hurt."

Naruto nodded, feeling a mix of embarrassment and gratitude. "I know, but I couldn't just stand by and do nothing. I had to help."

Hiashi placed a hand on Naruto's shoulder. "I understand your intentions, but remember, you're still just a kid. Leave the dangerous missions to the adults."

Naruto nodded again, taking Hiashi's words to heart. He realized that bravery alone wouldn't make him a great ninja; he needed to be smart about when to act and when to ask for help.

Naruto then opened the bag the ninja was carrying only to find Hinata from his class rubbing her arm.

As Hinata noticed Naruto, she jumped out and lunged at him.

"Thank you!" Hinata cried as she clung to him.

Naruto looked surprised and blushed a bit because of the sudden action, "H-Hinata?" Naruto asked with a surprised look on his face.

As soon as Hinata realized what she was doing, she blushed as red as a tomato and fainted.

Naruto guessed she must have been really tired, not knowing the real reason for her fainting.

Hiashi then picked up Hinata and put her over his shoulder. "Thank you, Naruto." He said with a smile. "You should come eat with us sometime when we're not busy to properly thank you. We also know what you did last winter for Hinata, and so it would also be an apology for the trouble we caused," Hiashi said with a serious face.

Naruto looked confused about the second part, but then he quickly remembered the girl he had helped during winter, "Oh that? It was no problem at all, I'm just lucky they weren't good at fighting," Naruto said with a smile while scratching the back of his head.

Well then, I must be off; this only adds more matters to attend to," Hiashi said with a sigh.

He then went off to the Hyuga Compound.

Naruto then sat down next to Haruto, "you did good there, bud." Naruto said as he rubbed Haruto's head.

Haruto's eyes opened a bit, "Hahaha, well maybe we should aim to be as strong as Hiashi, then we can take on ninjas like them!" He laughed cheerfully, though it was clear he was in pain.

As they continued to watch them leave, Naruto had a realization. "Wait . . . He knew my name?"

Haruto fell back to sleep.

Naruto then carried Haruto back to the apartment and then they both fell asleep.
