"You should go to bed, Fitz. I've got some things I can do."

Now that Fitz knew about her somniphobia, Olivia felt a bit of relief. From now on she wouldn't have to come up with an excuse to tell him or tell him she wasn't tired. She'd be able to tell him that Jerry or Huck wasn't able to come over and he'd, hopefully, leave her alone.

"What if I slept in bed with you?" he asked her as she went towards the dining room.

Turning around to see him, Liv could tell he was being serious. "It's alright. Jerry will probably come over later today and I'll get a nap then. But thank you."

"What is it that Huck or my dad does that makes you more comfortable?"

"They're just there," she shrugged. "It's nothing special, I guess."

"Okay, then let me help you, Liv. If it's just a matter of someone being in bed with you then why can't it be me?"

Liv looked down, playing with her fingers not sure what to say. I'd love if it was you. "Fitz, it really isn't a big deal. I'll sleep later. I'll be okay."

"I saw the disappointment on your face when he left. Like he was your saving grace to rest. Let me at least try to help you. If you can't sleep or you don't feel comfortable after a few hours of sleep, then I'll leave it alone. I won't sleep in the same bed with you again and we can just forget it ever happened. What do you say?"

"You're sure you're alright with this? Because I can definitely wait a few more hours and call Jerry or Huck."

"The only thing I am not alright with right now is you not sleeping. Give it a shot and see if you can share a bed with me and sleep. One time is all I'm asking."

Giving it a minute of thought, Liv finally nodded. "Okay, we'll try it this one time and see how it goes."

Fitz went to his room, grabbing the blanket and followed her into her bedroom. "So, what do I do?" he asked unsure of how to go about this.

"You sleep," Liv laughed as she got in under her blankets. "There's no ritual or anything if that's what you're asking. All you do is get in bed and go to sleep."

"Sounds simple enough," he smiled and got on the other side. Waiting for her to get comfortable, he watched her move around and get relaxed. "Night, Liv."

After a couple minutes, Olivia was out like a light. Fitz could only lay there and watch her. Really, he just wanted to make sure she stayed asleep for as long as she could.

Tell me whenever you need to sleep, Liv. I'll stay with you for however long you want. Whatever you need, no matter what, it's yours.

Watching her breathing, he noticed after a while they were actually breathing together. Fitz wanted so badly to move the hair out of her face so he could see her fully. Resisting as long as he could, he gave in. Luckily, she didn't even stir.

Fitz watched her sleep for half an hour before he gave in to his own sand man.

Waking up to the sound of a ringing phone, Fitz looked around for it. Of fucking course it's her phone. Too bad, they have to wait. After a few more rings, it silenced, but only to start ringing again. Leaning up, he grabbed the phone behind her and answered it in a low voice, careful not to wake her.

"Hello?"

"I'm looking for Olivia, I must have dialed wrong," a man spoke.

"Olivia's asleep. Can I give her a message?"

"Tell her that I need Mr. Grant to call me right away. We have a big problem here."

Fitz moved the blankets ready to move off the bed. "This is Fitz Grant, who is this?" Standing up, he turned to make sure Liv was still asleep but was instead moving around and sat up.

"What's wrong?" she asked him after seeing him up. "What are you doing with my phone?" Moving towards him more, she grabbed the phone from him and looked to see who was calling. "Nicholas? What happened?" Listening to him tell her the problem, Liv wandered off to the dining room. "That's alright, just tell me. I can sleep later."

Taking a seat on the bed, Fitz hoped it was an easy fix and she'd come right back. Though Nicholas's tone sounded frantic. One in the afternoon. Well, at least she got that much sleep.

"Nicholas, I'll take care of it. Mr. Grant doesn't need to fly out there. I can fix that from here myself," Liv told him while she walked back into the bedroom. "No, you didn't overreact. It's a problem but I have someone who can help there, and he doesn't need to fly out. I'll talk to you in a while."

"Everything okay?"

Putting her phone on the nightstand, she nodded and sat on her knees facing him. "All good."

"He seemed very worried."

"Nicholas worries a lot. But it's usually an easy fix."

"Which does he work at?"

"Beijing. One of the attorney's got arrested the other day. Now they want to come find documents that were on his work computer."

"And you have a guy that can fix that there?"

"I have people all over the world," she laughed. "But yes, we have an IT guy there who can find out if there was anything confidential that needs to be hidden relating to clients."

"You are very good at your job. Even when someone is freaking out you still stay calm. I wish I could do that."

Olivia couldn't fight the smile coming to her face and laughed. "You freak out over the smallest things. It's cute. You spill coffee on your shirt, and you make it seem like a hurricane just hit the city."

"But you manage to make me forget about it," Fitz smiled and leaned back against her headboard. "Did you sleep well?"

"Surprisingly, yes, I actually did." Sitting on her knees further away from him, she kept her eyes on the bed for a moment and finally looked up at him. "Thank you for… um… you know…"

"Sleeping with you?" Fitz laughed. But once he did and saw her face of embarrassment as she turned away, he instantly regretted it and grabbed her hand so she wouldn't be able to walk away. "I'm sorry, it's not funny."

"No, it isn't. This is exactly why I didn't want anyone to know."

"Liv, I'm sorry. It's really not funny. I'm sorry I laughed. I promise I won't do it again." When she wouldn't look at him again, Fitz slid down in front of her, pulling her chin to make her look at him. "But you slept good?" Watching her nod, he felt even more horrible seeing her like she was going to shut down. "So, can we add me to the list of people to help you sleep?"

I want you to be the only one on that list.

"I told you I would try it. I didn't say anything about adding you to the list. This was a one time thing, Fitz. I really appreciate you coming in here and staying with me so I could sleep but it won't happen again. It's one thing if it's Jerry or Huck. But it's definitely inappropriate when it's your boss."

Shaking his head, Fitz was not satisfied with that answer in the least. "I've spent the weekend with you at your apartment without doing work. I've slept in the same bed with you. Fuck being inappropriate, Liv."

"You make it sound like there's a choice."

"Because there is."

"There's not!"

"Why not?"

"Because… because… you're married."

"And getting divorced. And you sleep with Huck. What's the difference?"

"Huck knows me."

"I'm trying to know you, but you keep shutting me out. Olivia, what's the real reason you don't want me to be a person to help you? Is it because it's my dad that's another person for you? I'll talk to him. We can try to come together for you. I'll team up with him and Huck and we'll take care of you."

"I can take care of myself."

"Not from what I'm seeing." Fitz could tell he had now pissed her off. When she stormed out of the room, he followed after her. "We are not done, Olivia. I want an actual answer."

Ignoring him, she found her running shoes and sat down to put them on, but he was faster to take them away and throw them across the room.

"You can't run from me. Come look at these calendars," he pulled her off the couch to the dining room and looked at the wall. "If I am reading this right, neither Huck nor Jerry can be here until Saturday. You'll go almost seven days without sleep, when you have me right here ready and willing to help you. Let me help you."

"You are my boss. I don't want people thinking that I'm just trying to sleep with you."

"No one could think that."

"Three words: red spray paint."

"Point taken. But I know you well enough to know that you don't give a shit about office gossip. Try again."

Knowing she wasn't going to get anywhere, Liv let out a deep breath and sat at the table. "I felt you playing with my hair while I slept. I think, you think that being able to be a person who can help me sleep means more to you than it should."

"And what is it supposed to mean?" he asked taking the seat beside her.

"It's only to help me sleep."

"I know that. Since we're telling a lot of truths this weekend, I'll tell you this," Fitz started and waited for her to look at him, only continuing when she did. "When I saw my dad in bed with you, I did freak out. I was pissed off for sure. Maybe a little jealous. But once you explained why he needed to be there, I felt guilty for being pissed off and wanting to kill him."

"I don't understand why you'd be jealous. There's nothing to jealous of Jerry about."

Fitz smiled and shook his head. "There is. He seems to be someone you turn to when you need help. And I want to be that person, instead of him. Liv, you help me every day inside and outside work and if I can do one thing to help you in return, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Jerry can help you sleep, and I just did that. You got nearly eight hours of uninterrupted sleep and I'm sure you would have slept longer if your phone hadn't rung. I get that this is an odd situation but who says anyone has to know about it? I'm looking for a new place to live and you need someone to help you. What if we just combine the two?"

Listening to him, Liv was more than shocked at his proposal. Giving herself a few minutes to let it sink in, she thought about it. "Like live together? Live together in the same room? The same bedroom?"

"Essentially, yes. But we could have separate bedrooms and we just stay the night in the other's room. Like a sleepover, but we live together."

"That's never going to work. I can't live with my boss who sleeps in the same bed with me every night." And not get emotionally involved with. Or physically. "Thank you very much for the offer, but I think we should stick to what we were before. You're my boss, and I'm your assistant."

"Alright, then we'll fix that. Ms. Pope, you're fired."

"Well now you're being ridiculous."

"I'm serious. You were late for work with no notice of a text or a call to me or to the office. Your behavior has been unprofessional. You're fired."

"Fitz! This is insane. You have to be kidding!"

"See how irrational I can be? Same as you."

"You can't fire me."

"And why not?"

"Because I need you!"
