"Hi Nancy, how's it going there?"
"It's great, Liv. Nancy says hello."
Hearing his voice in her ear on her work phone ruined Olivia's entire day. Up until three in the afternoon, she was having a great day. Work was going well; Fitz was due to be back from court at any moment. Things for her day were getting done efficiently that she might be able to leave work at the office for the night. But as soon as James Richards voice came into her ear, she only wanted to throw up. Every time she heard his name, she wanted to be sick. As much as she could, Olivia was professional to him because her job and Fitz's depended on it, especially with Fitz's divorce in his hands.
"What do you want?"
"Mhm, my feisty girl. It's not what I want, it's what you need," James replied, kicking his feet up on the desk in his office to talk to her.
"I don't need anything. Thank you for calling, don't do it again."
"Wait a second, Liv. It might not be something you need but it's something Fitz's is going to need to show me."
Sighing as she held back the bile in her throat to continue talking to him, "which client? I'll add it to his list."
"Fitz is the client."
"You are talking about the divorce?"
"That's the one."
"Then call Fitz. I don't deal in that situation."
"I'm calling you, Olivia. And you'll be sure to tell him what I need, or his divorce isn't going to end anytime soon."
"You're blackmailing me to assist in my boss's divorce? What could you possibly want that he hasn't already given you?"
"There are pages missing in the financial statements he gave Nancy. Multiple pages that aren't adding up to the right amounts. I want you to hand deliver them to me. By the end of the week."
"No."
James couldn't hold back the laugh at her answer. "It's not a request, dear. You will bring me the papers I need or I'm going to move Fitz's divorce trial as far out as I possibly can. I want to see your pretty face in my office by Friday afternoon or you can explain to your boyfriend," he laughed at the word, "that your incompetence held up his pending divorce."
"I'm not sure you're understanding the word 'no', James. I'm not bringing anything to you. I'm not coming to your office. I'm not explaining your fucked upness to Fitz. If you want something about his divorce, then you deal with him directly. Do not call me again about this and any further information needed for any other clients comes through Nancy. I never want to hear your voice again."
Slamming the phone down on the holder, Olivia let out a long-exhausted breath as she ran her fingers down her hair.
"You okay there?"
Fitz set a small cup of coffee in front of her on the desk and took the seat across from her. "I heard a little bit of whoever you were talking to. Is Nancy someone we like or don't?"
"Nancy is wonderful. We love Nancy." Olivia took a drink of the coffee and set it down again. "I need you to deliver your bank statements to Judge Richards again. He called looking for them, said there was a few pages missing. Probably a mix up but send them again anyway."
"Livie, I don't want you anywhere near this divorce. You're caught up in it already more than you should."
"I don't want any part of it, okay? He called and asked for the statements, I told him I'd pass along the message. You were probably in court when he tried to call, I don't know, nor do I care. So please just take care of that."
Reaching across the desk to her, Fitz grabbed her hand and ran circles over the back of her hand with his thumb. "You're getting tense again. I had you all relaxed this morning and you were fine until now. Who called that upset you?"
"Richards, but it's fine. He's just being a pain as usual."
"Most judges are pains in the ass," Fitz laughed. "I guess he'd get under your skin more than any other one since you worked with him. I'll take care of the bank statement issue. Please don't stress about it, Livie." Looking at the time and the last few papers on her desk, he gave her a smile. "Any of those have to be done tonight?"
"No, why?" Liv asked, raising a brow at him.
"Come on, I'm taking you home. I want a couple extra hours of you and me time."
"What if I object?"
"I could carry you out of here too."
"Okay! I'm going! I like my feet firmly on the ground, thank you."
Grabbing her jacket for her, Fitz led her out and down to the car. Heading back to their apartment, Fitz looked over at her only seeing her stare out the window looking tense. Changing his mind on their destination, he turned the car to head down to the gym, he grabbed their bags and went in. Both coming out in work out clothes, Fitz took her into the boxing ring and helped her glove her hands.
"This isn't what I had in mind when you said you and me time," Liv smirked.
"I agree, this was not my original plan either. But you sat in the car looking stressed out and as much as I love you, seeing you stressed isn't a sight I can handle for long." Securing the glove around her wrists, Fitz bent down to kiss her. "Do you want a straight target or a human target?"
"Human, most definitely. I need someone to fight back."
"Oh, aren't you feisty?" Fitz laughed. Freezing as he said it, Olivia glared off into space.
"Oh, aren't you feisty?" James smirked holding her wrists down above her head on the couch in his office with one hand. Leaning down to her neck, James kissed just under her ear, sucking the skin there with tight pressure before biting.
"Damn it! Get off me James. I'm not doing this. Now get the fuck off me!" Olivia yelled squirming underneath him in an attempt to get free. Hoping if she yelled loud enough, someone would be able to hear her. A janitor, someone staying late in the office, someone passing by. Any one in the entire world who could get this man off of her. "James, please, I'm begging you! Get off me!"
Using the free hand he had, James lifted her shirt above her head and over her face leaving it there while he worked down to her breasts, biting at her cleavage, ensuring to leave marks whenever possible. Kicking her legs apart in the red skirt she had on, he slid his hand between her legs rubbing her sensitive clit through the panties he couldn't wait to take off her.
His entire body on top of her, holding her down on the couch, James made sure she couldn't move and get away from him. He pushed her shirt further up as before freeing her breasts from her bra, letting go of her hands for just a moment to grab her breasts. Olivia used the opportunity to push at his shoulders and shove him off her to the floor, getting up from the couch to make it to the door. Leaving her shirt on the couch, not caring if anyone saw her in her bra or not, she only needed to get away from him. Before she could get too far towards the door, James grabbed her right ankle and twisted it making her fall to the ground. Using her free foot, she was able to kick him hard in the balls knocking him into a fetal position.
"You fucking bitch!" Olivia heard him scream at her as she opened the door to the office getting to her desk just outside his. Looking for her keys, she grabbed them and was ready to run when he suddenly grabbed her hair and forced her over the desk, bending her at the waist. "Now you're mine."
Olivia felt him push her skirt up over her hips and rip off her thong, hearing the tear of the fabric, hearing him unzip his pants. "James, don't. Don't!" Before she knew what else was happening, Olivia could feel him inside of her. Taking any kind of free will she had at the time. "JAMES STOP!" Olivia fought with everything she had to get this man off of her.
"Livie. Livie. Olivia!" Fitz kept calling her name to bring her back to the real world. Tilting her head up to look at him, Fitz watched her eyes unglaze themselves as she snapped back to him. "There you are." Rubbing her shoulders as she took several deep breaths. "Where'd you go?"
Shaking her head out of the trance she was just in; Liv could feel how tense she was again. "Nowhere," she lied. "Who… who's the target?" Looking around, she expected another trainer to be in the ring.
"Me. Just let me glove up."
"No. No, I'll use a bag."
"What? You just said you wanted someone to fight back," Fitz smiled wrapping his hands. "I've got you, Livie."
"Fitz, I don't want to hurt you."
"Yeah, okay then," Fitz laughed. "Love you sweet baby, but you don't have enough strength in your tiny body to hurt me. I'm more concerned that I'd hurt you. But you are the one who needs to work out some stress."
Getting into the gloves, Fitz prepared his stance ready for Liv to attack. "Give it your best shot. And don't hold back."
"Trust me, I won't. And don't even think about holding it back on me."
With no warning or a slight move, she punched Fitz's right arm with her left fist. Circling around him, Fitz kept his gloves up going for a knock to her right from his left, but she dodged, ducking down and hitting his leg. Popping back up from her crouch down, Fitz jabbed and hit her chest a bit harder than anticipated which reeled her back, but she stayed on her feet and swung again.
Olivia jabbed over and over, surprising him with each one. He'd anticipated her coming from her right dominant side but was surprised every time she came from the left. Fitz swept his left arm coming across her right to tap her shoulder, but she pushed herself down and swung her leg out, knocking his legs out from under him and down to fall on his back. She hit Fitz's left arm once, twice, three, then four times.
Fuck you, James! I can show you a bitch! Olivia's head so back in time, punching Fitz over and over again. In her mind, this was James under her, not the man she loved.
"Okay! Okay! Livie! Olivia!" Fitz yelled to get her attention again. Hearing Fitz shouting from the ring, two trainers who were standing at the floor wrapping up their next clients' wrists came into the ring and grabbed Olivia around the waist and pulled her off him.
"Easy tiger, he gets it," one of them laughed while the other took off her gloves.
"I got this, guys, thanks." Fitz nodded for them to let her go as he removed his own gloves. "You good?" Looking her over, he made sure her eyes stayed on him. "You want to tell me what the hell that was?"
Olivia stood at the side, undoing her wraps on her hands before getting out of the ring. "I want to go home now."
Fitz didn't hesitate to follow her and get their bags deciding to shower at home. Taking her hand, he led her back to the car and took her home. Getting the shower started for them, he let her in first after it warmed up.
"Please explain," he asked searching her eyes.
"Did I hurt you?" Liv asked, her voice a bit low.
"Physically? Yeah, a little but nothing I can't take. I'll just have a sore arm for a day. But that's nothing compared to what you're doing to me mentally. You spaced out on me. It's like you flashed back to something that you needed to get your anger out on. Where'd you go?" Olivia let her head fall against his chest, allowing the water to run down her back while she wrapped her arms around his waist. Feeling him hold her in his arms, she felt safer than she had in a long time but stayed silent. "Was that and Edison flash?"
Surprised at hearing his name, she looked up at him and shook her head no. "Why would you think that?"
"You've been saying Stephen's name in your sleep for three days. Are you having nightmares again?"
"Honestly, I don't remember. I haven't been remembering my dreams when I wake up lately. I'm sorry if I said his name."
"Livie, don't be sorry for something you say in your sleep. I'm not offended that you're having dreams about him. I know it's a touchy subject for you to discuss but I'm still here if you want to talk about him. I'm always willing to listen. Or take the hits."
"Sorry," Liv kissed his arm where it was red from her jabs. "I don't know what came over me."
"So, you weren't thinking about Edison. Were you thinking about the bad man?"
Locking eyes on his, hers widened at the idea. "What do you know?"
Fitz stroked her spine gently, attempting to calm her when her breath hitched. "Just that Javi said I need to protect you from him. But he didn't tell me who it was, he didn't know who it was. Who is this bad guy?"
Glad that Fitz didn't know who they were referring to, she untensed a bit and kissed his chest. "He's someone from the past. I can take care of it."
