Episode 21: Death-iversary In Wrath
In his office at the I.M.P company, Blitz is in his office looking over some paperwork, and practically doing some doodles of Moxxie. Soon he hears a knock on the door.
"Yeah. What's up?" Blitz calls out.
The door opens and Amara walks inside, "Hey Blitz, listen can I ask you for something?"
"Sure. What is it?" Blitz replies.
"Well, I was wondering if I can have some time off for a few days next week," Amara replies.
"Uh, what's the occasion? Visiting family or friends, have to go away for a while?" Blitz asks.
Amara shakes her head and answers, "No, not exactly. You see, next week is going to be the anniversary of my parents death, so Roy and I are planning on seeing them with Aunt Eda and my friends."
That makes Blitz look at Amara with concern. Moxxie, Millie, and Loona stop what they're doing to hear the conversation.
"I… I see the anniversary of your parents death. Well, I guess I could let you and Roy have a few days off or so, but only one condition," Blitz says.
"What's that?" Amara asks.
"That the rest of will will come with you to the Wrath Ring," Blitz says.
"Are you sure?" Amara asks, confused
"Sure I'm sure. I sure like to see the grave of the adopted parents of a well, cowgirl assassin. They raised a sturdy bitch."
"Cowgirl?" Amara says, with a grin.
"Well. It's not everyday you see an Owl demon that can use weapons, ropes, daggers, and has mad fighting skills as well as Millie. I think Stolas might have called it 'A Diamond in the Rough.' We can run it by the others," Blitz says.
Moxxie walks in and says, "How about asking us before making arrangements?"
"What? Are you saying that you don't want to see the kids' parents' graves?" Blitz asks, looking at Moxxie.
"No. That is not what I meant. I don't mind coming along, but you should at least ask us first," Moxxie says.
Millie happily says, "I don't mind going too."
Roy turns to Loona and asks, "Hey Loona, do you want to come with us?"
"It's not like I have a choice. Besides, there's not much happening next week," Loona says, playing on her phone.
"Then it's settled. We're all going," Blitz says
"Great. We can also see Eda while we're there," Millie happily says.
"And we can also have some fun with her horses," Blitz says.
"Oh brother," Amara says, crossing her arms.
After agreeing to go, and on the day before leaving, Amara is talking to her friends on a video phone.
"Oh, so your boss and the others are coming?" Madison replies.
"Blitz thinks it will be a good idea to see them. And the others kind of agree, even if Blitz declares it to us," Amara says.
Cody says, "You know, it's too bad your parents never got to meet them. I'm sure your dad and Blitz would have gotten along, and will tease Moxxie."
"I'm sure your mom would love to chat with Millie," Emily says.
"Yeah. I'm sure there is a lot of stuff you can talk about with them. It's been a while since you saw their grave," Aaron says.
"Yeah. But you guys are coming too, right?" Amara says.
"We sure are," Greg says.
Josephine sadly sighs and says, "It's still hard to believe that it's been."
"I know. I remember all the cooking Cassandra used to teach us, and how we always make a mess in the kitchen," Madison says.
"And she ends up making a game out of the cooking and cleaning," Emily says.
"And Jake was awesome, he ended up beating me and Cyclone at wrestling," Greg says.
Cyclone chuckles and says, "Yeah. I still remember how he whooped us."
"Yeah. I'm glad that we still have good memories of them. It's just hard to believe they're gone," Amara sadly says.
Suddenly, remembers with a smile, "Oh yeah. I almost forgot, Stolas and Octavia will be coming too."
"Stolas? You mean the Goetia Prince and his daughter?" Madison asks.
"Yeah. I can't wait to introduce you guys to Octavia. Of course, Aaron already knows her," Amara says.
"Yeah. We should make sure she feels welcome. Since she's friends with you, Amara and myself, she's kind of like part of the group," Aaron says.
"Yeah. We gotta show Octavia around," Amara happily says.
"Then let's do it," Greg says.
"Yeah," The group cheers.
Then Cyclone asks, "So how did Stolas and Octavia decide to come with you guys?"
"Well, Blitz mentions it to Stolas and he practically begs him to come. As for Octavia, she wanted to hang out with me, and I agreed to introduce you to guys," Amara says.
Soon, the group begins laughing with grins on their faces.
Soon enough, all those who are attending are in the I.M.P Company Van and are already in the Wrath Ring. Soon, they arrive at Eda's farm, where the Imp herself is waiting for them. Amara and Roy are very excited that they're the first one to jump out of the stopped van.
They both run over to the Imp and happily shouts, "Aunt Eda!"
"Amara! Roy!" Eda happily says.
Then the two hug their aunt with glee.
"Hey kids, it's great to see you again. How are things going back in Imp City? Hasn't got boring, has it?" Eda replies, happily.
"Trust me, it hasn't gotten boring. We've been doing well," Amara says.
Just then, Blitz and the others join.
"Hey Eda, it's great to be back at your neck of the woods," Blitz says.
Then eagerly asks, "So where's Scarlet and her young foals?"
"It's good to see you too Blitz. As for Scarlet and the foals, they're in the corral," Eda says.
Then Millie, Moxxie, Loona, Stolas, and Octavia walk over.
"Hi Millie, Moxxie, Loona. Nice to have you guys back," Eda says.
"It's great to see you again, Eda. It's been a while," Millie says.
"Yeah. Not since the Harvest Moon Festival. Hope you guys are taking good care of my niece and nephew. She told me a lot that has happened since the festival," Eda says.
"Uh, did she also mention the few incidents that occurred?" Moxxie asks, pulling the collar of his shirt.
"Which one? The one when you, your boss, and Roy got caught by demon obsessed weirdos who work for a human government, or that she got abducted by the creepy vampire Imp and ended up in Pentagram City?" Eda asks.
"Both to be exact. But still, Amara was very helpful to us," Moxxie says.
"Yeah. I'm surprised Amara didn't destroy those humans after kidnapping Roy," Blitz says with a smirk on his face.
"I wish I did, but I used up all of my energy fighting so many people with weapons from the Edo Japan period, and they only use those weapons, no guns, daggers, or anything. I wonder if they're supposed to be government agents or ninjas," Amara says.
"I'm glad you were able to handle yourself," Eda says.
Then turns to see Stolas and Octavia with them.
"Howdy your highness, it's a pleasure you can be here," Eda says.
"And it's a pleasure to meet you, Eda, is it? But you can call me Stolas," Stolas replies.
"Sure am, partner. I'm glad to hear that you've been helping Blitz take care of my niece and nephew," Eda says.
Then she turns to Octavia, "And you must be Octavia, it's swell to finally meet you. Amara told me a lot about you."
"Uh yeah. I didn't know Amara even mentioned me," Octavia says, blushing a bit.
"Yeah. Judging by the pictures and letters, you two have become good friends. I'm glad for her to meet another Owl demon like yourself. I'm Amara and Roy's aunt, Eda, it's a pleasure to meet you," Eda says.
"Yes. It's nice to meet you too. Amara told me a few things about you, like you uh, raised her and Roy after what happened to her parents," Octavia says.
"Sure have. In fact, I've been helping them raise Amara even long before that. She's my favorite niece and she is soft and fluffy with her pure white feathers when she's younger as well," Eda happily says.
Amara becomes embarrassed and panics, "Aunt Eda!"
The group begins laughing to hear the comment.
Suddenly, they hear someone shout, "Amara!"
Amara turns to see Aaron, Greg, Cody, Madison, Emily, Cyclone, and Josephine hurrying towards them.
"Hey guys!" Amara happily says, and hurries towards them.
"Hey Amara, it's great to see you back," Josephine says.
Emily hugs Amara and says, "We really miss you."
"I miss you guys too, and glad to see you guys again," Amara says. Followed by, "Wait here."
Amara then hurries to Octavia and says, "Come on guys, I want to introduce you to my friends." and takes Octavia's hand.
"Uh okay," Octavia says.
The two girls then walk over to Aaron and the others.
"Guys, this is my friends, Octavia, Octavia, these are my friends from the Wrath Ring. The muscular Imp is Greg, the smaller one is Cody. The Hellhound is Cyclone. The Hellcat is Josephine. The girls are siblings, the Imp Madison and the Succubus is Emily," Amara says.
She then walks over to Aaron and says, "And of course, you remember Aaron. And of course, he's my best friend."
"Hello. It's nice to meet you," Octavia says, and calmly waves to them.
"It's nice to meet you. You look really pretty. I like your dress and your tiara," Madison says.
"Uh, thanks," Octavia says.
Then looks at Madison and says, "You know, I think I can make you a cute Wrath Ring style outfit. I mean, pink and black is your color, but maybe we can try a darker pink like magenta, hot pink or even, fuchsia. And of course, we can put some stars in a yellow or white color on it, maybe a brooch, or maybe a necklace or something rather. And maybe you can get some nice boots…"
"Easy Maddie, you don't want to overwhelm her with your fashion ideas," Emily interrupts.
"Sorry," Madison apologizes.
"Thanks, but I'm not sure if the Wrath Ring look is really me," Octavia says.
"It's worth a shot anyway," Madison says, shrugging her shoulders.
"Well then, now that everyone's here. Aren't we here to see Jake and Cassandra's grave?" Cyclone says.
"He's right. Madison and I even brought flowers for them," Emily says, holding a bouquet of cactus flowers.
Eda walks over and says, "Come on kids, we're going to get going to the graveyard."
"Then let's move people, time's a wastin," Blitz says.
Sometime later, everyone arrives at the graveyard and finds Jake and Cassandra's grave that has their names and date of birth and death. They're both buried together. However, they also notice something odd.
"That's weird," Greg says.
"Someone must have cleaned it up before we got here," Cody says.
Amara smiles and notices, "It must have been Uncle John and Uncle Spades. They're the only ones I can think of who knows my mom's favorite dessert." and notices a container that has some molten chocolate cake.
"Your Uncle John?" Millie asks.
"Who's he?" Blitz asks.
"Yeah. Uncle John is my mom's older brother and Uncle Spades is Uncle John's husband. My mom doesn't talk about her life much, but actually told me that she used to live in the Lust Ring growing up before she met dad. Sadly, we only know Uncle John Uncle Spades from my mom's side of the family," Amara says.
Aaron turns to Amara, "Yeah. From what I remember, your mom said that she and her parents weren't exactly on speaking terms."
"Don't you have any other family members?" Octavia asks.
"I actually do. I have a few relatives who live in Wrath, and different parts of Hell. I used to have my grandparents from my fathers' side. Sadly, my grandfather died when I was eight, and my grandmother died a year before that. Sadly, I don't know too many of my relatives, especially from my mother's side," Amara says.
Amara and Roy walk over to the grave.
Amara kneels down and says with a smile, "Hi mom, dad, we all came to see you, and we have new friends joining us."
The others walk over.
"We all did," Josephine says.
"I guess John and Spade already did the clean up, but we can still give you these flowers, and hang out for a while," Greg says.
Emily then brings the flowers forward, and places them on the grave. Everyone remains silent as they look at the grave. The only ones who are concerned are Blitz, Moxxie, Millie, Loona, Octavia, and even Stolas. After all the tragedy in Amara's life, she is able to smile and be strong. It rather confuses them, but some don't really care because Amara is able to be strong and lift herself up in the weight of her grief.
The next day, Amara and her friends are outside having a picnic lunch outside of the house. Octavia, Loona, and Roy are outside as Millie and Moxxie watch them. Blitz however is busy petting and playing with the horses.
"And so Angel Dust and I ended up fighting off Sir Pentious with Cherri Bomb and I managed to help Vaggie and Charlie get out of there before it became intense," Amara says.
"Fuck! You really fought Sir Pentious and his Egg Bois. I heard those two have always got into Turf Wars with one another," Cody says.
"Yeah, but I somehow knew Amara is able to handle it," Josephine says.
"Yeah. Just barely. And dealing with the government agents is just insane. More like they're insane. According to Stolas, most of them even believe in us demons and are seen as kooks," Amara says.
"Kooks?" Emily says confused with a grin and Madison starts laughing.
"Kook is simply calling someone crazy," Cody says.
"I think they're nutcases," Amara says.
"No kidding," Loona says.
"Are all humans like that?" Octavia asks.
"Who knows?" Amara replies, shrugging her shoulders.
"Hey, would it be so cool if we can go to the human world too. There has to be a ton of places to hang out," Josephine says.
"Yeah. And stuff to do," Cyclone says.
"Maybe, but we have to be careful. Besides, ever since the incident with the government agents, we need to be extra careful with them around. Blitz says we don't need to worry about it, but I'm keeping on the safe side," Amara says.
"Careful? You? That doesn't sound like the Amara we know. She's not careful when it comes to weapons," Madison says with a smirk.
"Hey!" Amara yelps.
Soon, everyone begins laughing.
Meanwhile in the house, Stolas looks around to notice some of the pictures on Eda's wall. Some of them even show off Amara when she's a young owl, along with other Imps, alone with her friends at a young age. Just then, she notices a picture that has Eda along with an Imp couple, Amara when she's a child, and the baby appears to be Roy.
Eda walks over and says, "Hey Stolas. Looking at the pictures. They're really good."
"Um yes they are," Stolas says, a little surprised.
He then points to the picture he notices, "Um, are these two uh, Amara's parents?"
"Yes. That's my older brother, Jake and his wife Cassandra. It's been over six years since they died from the incident," Eda says.
"Yes. I've heard a bit about the incident. About her being badly injured in her home by invaders and she lost her arm and both legs from it," Stolas replies.
Eda sadly sighs, "Yes. It was a very devastating situation Amara was in. My older brother and his wife were burtially murdered, then see that Amara has been badly shot by an angelic weapon and her arm and legs were badly injured beyong repair. Along with having to have them replaced."
Then Stolas asks, "If you don't mind me asking, how exactly did it happen? I heard that a group of Imps invaded her home and caused the fire and her parents death, but I would like to know what you know about it."
Then sadly says, "I uh, know it might be hard on you."
"No. It's alright. Amara already told you much about what happened, so you also have the right to know my side of the story," Eda says.
She calmly takes a deep breath and says, "Well, I was sleeping in my home, and I suddenly hear the noise of gunshots and people screaming and shouting.
Flashback: Over Six Years Ago
Eda along with young Aaron, Greg, Cody, Cyclone, Josephine, Emily, and Madison, along with some of their families. Hear the gunshots going on in the night and can tell that it's coming from Amara's home. They also hear a lot of shouting and screaming. Eda along with Aaron and the others, with their families, hurry to Amara's home and to their shock and devastation to see the house is on fire and many of the debris from the roof have collapsed.
Eda rushes to the burning house, "Jake! Cassandra!"
Just then, Emily and Madison's mother, a Succubus, blocks her, "Hey, get back!"
"Amara!" Aaron cries out and tries to run to the house.
However, his mother picks him up in her arms, "Aaron, you can't go in there. It's too dangerous!"
"But Amara!" Aaron cries out.
Then Dustin who is helping put out the fire says, "Leave everything to us! We'll handle this!"
Eda and the children are forced to watch as many adults do their best to put out the fire before it gets too out of control. Sometime later, the fire was put out, but many structures of the house were destroyed. Once it's clear to enter, Eda is the first to rush to the house and opens the door.
When Eve opens the door, they are shocked and devastated to see plenty of locations of the house have been burned and destroyed. Eda walks inside and looks around to see plenty of the house and essentials have been burned, along with broken windows and such. She soon sees Jake and Cassanda lying on the ground, shot dead and have burned parts from the fire. It's suspected that they've already died before the fire occurs.
Suddenly, Eda gasps in shock and dismay to what's in her sight. What she sees is Amara lying down on the floor with her back up, and bricks, wooden planks, and debris have fallen on her left arm and both her legs and on her back.
"Oh fuck, Amara!" Eda panics and hurries to Amara.
Eda kneels down to her and asks, "Amara, are you alright? What happened?!"
Eda quickly moves the debris and bricks off of Amara, and on the verge of tears to see both her arm and legs are crushed and broken.
"Amara, please Amara!" Eda panics and is able to pick her up.
She soon notices that Amara has her left arm wrapped around little Roy who is wrapped in a blue blanket and tightly.
Eda holds her and says in despair, "Amara, please, wake up! Amara! Roy!"
Soon, Aaron and the others join Eda to see Amara and Roy.
Aaron kneels down and asks, "Amara, are you alright?"
Greg then kneels down to notice blood is on this one spood and it continues to spread.
"Amara's been shot!" Greg exclaims.
The group gasps in shock.
"I'll go get help," Madison panics and rushes out.
Cyclone and Josehine follow after her to go get help. Eda continues to hold Amara and Roy in her arms in sadness.
Flashback Ends:
Eda explains, "It was a terrible sight. Amara's arm and both legs were crushed and her bones were shattered, and has a bullet in her left side of her stomach and was at the vital organs. Luckily Aaron's parents were able to get the help we needed and stayed at the clinic. They were able to get it out, but it was a fifty and fifty chance of making it through the operation. Luckily, she was able to pull through, but not without an awful that awful scar. Sadly her arm and both legs were so badly damaged that the only way to save her was to have them replaced. That is why she has those limbs."
Stolas is beyond shock and is practically on the verge of tears, "I… I had no idea she went through something this awful."
"It was. And it wasn't easy for her to get used to having artificial limbs, but she's able to make them manageable," Eda says.
Then Stolas asks, "So, she doesn't remember anything else that happened, or the ones who did it?"
"Not much. She remembers they invited the house, was shot, her ma took her to the secret room in their home and left them in there to help my brother fend them off. She also remembers the angelic weapon was used, and the proof was from her testimony and the bullet they found in her stomach. She also remembers the fire and that she used herself to protect her brother. Other than that, she can't remember anything else," Eda says.
Stolas sadly sighs and says, "It's rather surprising. She seems very happy with her younger brother and with you. You couldn't tell that she suffered so much."
"Yeah. And when my niece told me about this Mirage character and how he seems to know my brother and his wife's name, I had a feeling they were involved with the incident. When I find them, I'm going to make them suffer the way Amara did," Eda says, and cracks her knuckles.
"Oh my," Stolas says, a little surprised.
Then Stolas asks, "And exactly, what was done about it? You know, after the incident?"
"Well, after a month after the incident and Amara regains consciousness, Dustin Wade, Josephine's father, agreed to get Amara's testimony and try to figure out what happened. Sadly, there wasn't much we could do due to the lack of information. And Amara had to go to rehabilitation for over six months," Eda says.
"Uh rehabilitation?" Stolas asks.
"Yes. Aaron's parents were able to have doctors help out with the process, especially when she had to learn how to use an artificial arm and legs. And yet, Aaron was the most helpful. You have to admit, those two are very close," Eda says.
"Yes. I was told Amara has a strong liking for him," Stolas says.
"Liking doesn't begin to describe it. She actually has had a crush on him since they were kids. I suspect Aaron feels the same. They've both been best friends for that long too. And during the rehabilitation, to keep up with her school work, everything, Aaron was with her through it all," Eda says.
"What was she like during this rehabilitation?" Stolas asks.
Eda explains, "At first, Amara was in a great deal of pain. Even though she survived a bullet wound from the angelic wound and gained robotic limbs, she's able to maintain her physical condition, but her mental condition was very severe, and so was her heart. Aaron has done his best to help Amara, he did everything he can, and been there with the doctors in helping her. At first after talking with Mr. Wade, Amara doesn't feel like talking to anyone, but Aaron was able to get through to her. He's very determined in helping her. And after six months, Amara was able to return back to herself. Yet, I feel some scars still give her some issues in the future," Eda says.
"I see. It must have been very difficult for her to go through," Stolas says, sounding very depressed.
"It was, but I'm glad Amara is happy now. Amara told me this guy called Mirage is after her and it appears to be taking orders from someone called Orpheus. I just hope whoever they all will be stopped. I don't want Amara to suffer like this forever," Eda says.
Stolas sadly turns away and says in his thoughts, "Nether do I, Eda. And… a whole lot more."
Back outside, Amara and her Wrath Ring friends are with Octavia, Loona, and the others to talk to them about their time in the Wrath Ring.
"And then the next thing we know, Cody and Greg were being chased by a Hellbull. It was so mad that it looked like it was turning red," Cyclone says.
"And if it wasn't for Aaron, Amara, and Cyclone, you two would have been dead meat," Madison says.
"Don't remind me, it was the worst. We were suspended from school for two weeks," Greg says.
"And we had to do community service," Cody adds, rolling his eyes.
The group then begins laughing.
"Oh man, that was fuckin nuts," Blitz says.
"I'm surprised you were able to get away from that thing. They're hard to get away," Millie says.
Moxxie rubs the back of his head, "I've learned that one the hard way once."
"Hey guys, you remember our music teacher back at school?" Madison asks.
"Yeah. I remember. He was a very interesting teacher. I think his name was…" Amara says.
"His name is Mirror," Emily says.
Blitz begins laughing and says, "Mirror? What kind of stupid ass name is that?"
"That's his name. Believe it or not, Mirror actually moved to the Wrath Ring from the Lust Ring when he turned eighteen and started living a simple life here. Back then he was a music teacher.
He was a great teacher and has taught us a lot about music. Of course…" Greg says.
Then nudges Amara's shoulder, "Amara is technically his favorite student. Practically his Number #1 student."
"I don't know about that," Amara says.
"That's what everyone says. In fact, you also said that he is your favorite music teacher," Cody says.
"And he's very encouraging too," Emily says.
"Yeah. But I have to wonder what happened to Mirror. He said that he had to leave all of the sudden for some reason," Amara says.
Aaron shrugs his shoulders, "Yeah, but there's no need to worry about it. I'm sure he's doing fine wherever he is."
Then mutters so no one will hear, "And hope he doesn't get back here."
"What was that?" Blitz asks.
"It's nothing. I'm sure Mirror will be fine wherever he is," Aaron quickly says.
"Okay," Blitz says, confused.
And then says, "Anyway, it looks like you guys have a shit ton of adventures as much as we do with our work."
"And the fact that we keep almost getting ourselves killed," Amara says.
"She's right about that," Millie says.
"Yeah. We've been through a lot of crazy situations," Amara says.
"You can say that again," Loona says.
The kids soon begin laughing.
Later in the night, Amara is asleep in the room at her Aunt Eda's house. Just then, a strange sound wakes her up. Amara wakes up feeling a little tired and looks around to figure out where the noise is coming from. When she turns her head, she notices the window has been left open. She walks to the window and looks out and wonders why the window is open. She looks up to notice a pair of legs hanging from the roof.
Recognizing them, Amara softly calls out, "Octavia."
The one looking over the edge of the roof is indeed Octavia.
"Oh, hi Amara, what are you doing up?" Octavia says.
"I was going to ask you. Can't sleep?" Amara replies.
"No. I wanted to get some air," Octavia answers.
"I see," Amara says.
Then climbs out of the roof and uses her powers to fly and sit down to Octavia on the roof.
"So, why can't you sleep?" Amara asks.
"I guess I was just thinking about a few things, learning more about you and your life here. It's almost like you have a lot more freedom," Octavia says.
"I don't know about that. I still have to go to school, listen to my aunt, and my parents, have to do a lot of farm work, take care of my brother, and well, after the death of my parents, I had to go through rehabilitation, and having to get used to having new limbs," Amara says.
"I see. Sounds difficult," Octavia says.
"It was, but thanks to my friends, I was able to get through it all, and became strong. And still want to become strong for them, especially for Aaron, he's always been by my side and supports me. He even supported me when I decided to leave the Wrath Ring, and kept contact with me when I first got a Hellphone," Amara says.
"I can tell. I'm surprised that you only went on one date after all this time. I figure you would a lot sooner," Octavia says.
Amara blushes and says, "Yeah. I was nervous to ask him out at first, and I was too busy helping my Aunt and taking care of my brother."
"Was it hard to take care of your brother?" Octavia asks.
"No. It actually wasn't except when he started crawling. He is always curious and tries to get into a lot of things. There was one time, he crawled into the pig pin and he was covered in mud and splashing it around with the pigs still in there. Glad they weren't being hostile towards him. I manage to get him out, and then he splatter my face with mud," Amara says.
Octavia laughs and says, "That's funny. It must be troubling to have a sibling."
"Well, having a sibling may be difficult, but it was really worth it. And shocking enough, when he started talking, his first word was Mara and was raising his arms towards me. I was surprised, and yet, shedding tears of joy to hear him say it. I love my little brother. He means a lot to me, if I lose him, I… I don't know what I will do …" Amara says, and soon tears begin to fall from her face.
Then says, "Having a sibling may be hard, but sometimes… it's totally worth it."
She then wipes her tears and says, "Sorry about that. I'm getting all emotional again."
"It's okay. It sounds like having a sibling is good, but I guess I don't fully understand since I'm an only child, for sometime now…" Octavia says, and starts to lower her head in sadness.
"For sometime now, what do you mean?" Amara asks.
Octavia turns to Amara and says, "Sorry, I guess hearing you talking about your little brother has me thinking of something. Something I haven't mentioned to anyone in a long time. Then again, it's… been a long time since it happened…"
"Huh?" Amara says, confused.
Octavia then places her claws on Amara's shoulder with sadness.
Confused, Amara asks, "What's wrong?"
"Promise to keep this a secret? Promise not to tell a soul?" Octavia asks, and Amara nods her head in reply.
With that, Octavia says, "Hearing you talking about your brother is making me think of the twin sister I used to have named Maribelle."
"Used to?" Amara says.
"Over 16 years ago, she disappeared," Octavia says.
She then turns to her head with a bitter expression, "No. She was abducted. She was only one years old at the time. She would have been our age if she was still alive."
Octavia sadly sighs and says, "My parents send our servants and others to help. They searched but couldn't find her. My parents were devastated when it happened and feared the worst. I don't remember what she looks like or even know what happened to her."
Octavia then hugs Amara and says, "I hope that she is still alive and able to live her life. And maybe, someday we might find her."
Amara is rather shocked to hear this, but decides to remain silent.
Octavia then lets go of Amara and says, "I think I'm going to go to bed tonight. Thank you for talking to me. Goodnight."
"Night," Amara softly says.
Octavia and Amara climb down the roof and through the window and head to bed. However, Amara isn't able to sleep at all, and can't stop thinking about what Octavia has told her, about her having a twin sister that went missing. She begins to wonder….
Amara sighs and says, "It probably isn't. It might be a coincidence. But, the chances are what I think it is, it's a fifty-fifty chance. What am I going to do?"
Amara sighs and continues to sleep for the rest of the night, with a thought of Octavia's statement in her mind. After that, everyone says goodbye to Aaron and her friends, along with Aunt Eda and heads back to Imp City. Yet. Amara is unable to get what Octavia said out of her mind, and isn't sure what to do about it now.
