"Edison, please don't! Kill me instead. Don't hurt him. I'm the one that you want, he's never done anything to you. Remember, I'm the one who broke up with you. Kill me."

"That won't do any good, Olivia. You're the one that I want. I want you alone. This guy is useless to you. He doesn't know who you are. He's in the way and I can't have that. I told you before, no one will have you but me."

Seeing Edison at the foot of the bed holding a much too big knife, Liv squirmed her way up the headboard. Kicking at the person in the bed beside her, the blanket covered whoever it was, but blood was dripping down the pillow. She kicked harder to wake them, seeing if it would do anything to whoever it was.

"I'm begging you please, just go! I promise, I won't call the police or come after you. Just leave us alone. Please!"

"NEVER! You are mine, Olivia. I will never leave you alone. I will never share you with anyone. I want you and I will have you."

One blink and Edison was standing on the bed in front of her, grabbing her arm tight while taking the butcher's knife to the person's head. Laughing, he kicked the person's head letting it fall to the floor while dragging Olivia out of the room. Trying to fight him off, she looked down to see the head rolling like a bowling ball on the ground.

"Fitz!"

Screaming out, Olivia shocked herself and sat straight up looking around the dining room table. Checking around her, nothing was out of place.

It was a nightmare. Nothing is wrong. Steady heartbeat. Breathe. Touch each finger. Smell the air. Hear the noises. See the window. Taste the water. I've got this. I will not have a panic attack again. Everyone is fine. Edison is dead. Fitz is alive. I've got this.

Needing to wake herself up from the bad dream, she went and got changed into running outfit and grabbed her phone. 2:45am. This is going to be a long weekend. No more sleeping. Work or run. Those are the options. Putting on her shoes, Liv took her keys and phone and walked out deciding to go for a run.

Running through the National Mall, Liv sat on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial catching her breath after running for ten miles. A bit surprised that Fitz didn't call or even text her before he was going to bed, she gave it a little thought of texting him herself and pulled out her phone.

'Hope you don't get too lonely without me.'

Waiting a few minutes for his reply, nothing came. Through the rest of the night, she stayed out walking around the mall. Quiet and so peaceful in the area, though Liv stayed on high alert as always for anyone coming around her. Luckily, tonight there was no one around. Running another ten miles and back to the memorial, Liv sat there again and watched the sunrise. One of the best places to see it from her perspective. Needing to stay awake, she ran to the coffee shop and had breakfast, checking in with everyone there before running to the office. On a quiet Saturday morning with no one around, Liv was able to rearrange the office files and clean both her and Fitz's offices. By the time she was finished, it was just after 4pm. Surprised she had not seen or heard from Fitz, checking her phone again, that's when she saw it was dead and ran for home.

Getting popcorn and a glass of wine, Liv ran herself a bath and put her phone on the charger in the bedroom. Enjoying the hot water on the muscles that she pushed all day brought some relief.

After getting out and putting on comfortable clothes, she went to lay on the couch and watch tv. Within a few minutes, she was asleep again.

Running through the woods in the dark, Olivia heard a voice yelling her name a distance behind her.

"You can't run from me. Come back and I'll let him go Olivia. We can be together, and I'll let him go with his head attached. You and I need to be together. We are meant to be."

She reached for her phone, but it wasn't in her pocket. Nothing was there. Olivia ran further and further but the voice kept getting closer to her. "Go away, leave us alone! I killed you once, I'll do it again!"

Turning back to look ahead, Edison stood in front of her. "You couldn't kill me. You would never kill me. You love me. We love each other."

"No! I pulled the trigger twice. I shot you in the head. I watched you die."

"Purely a dream, Olivia. You would never hurt me. But these two keep trying to take you away from me. I won't have it. You're mine. We belong together. These two are standing in our way, so I have to get rid of them. I got rid of Stephen. I'll find this one and off him too. Don't worry, Olivia, I'll make it quick and painless. He won't even be able to say goodbye like the other did."

"Stay away from him! Just leave him alone!" Running away from him, she could see Fitz standing in the road a way in front of her. But no matter how fast she ran, he kept getting further from her. Suddenly, Edison had Fitz's neck and snapped it.

"No! No! Leave him alone!"

"NO!"

"Livia! Livia, wake up! Livia!" Jerry lightly slapped her face before taking the water glass from Verna and poured it on her, making Liv shoot straight up gasping for air. "Hey, breathe, Livia. Breathe for me. It's just a nightmare."

Trying to get her breath, Verna moved Jerry aside handing him the glass of water and sat on the couch beside her legs and took her hands. "Eyes open," Verna told her snapping her fingers to get her attention to her. "What do you see?"

"You… you…"

"What do you hear?"

"Ceiling fan… tv… your voice…"

"What do you smell?"

"Creed… Jerry's wearing creed… White diamonds… your perfume."

"What do you taste?"

"Water…"

"What do you feel?"

"Warm skin… your ring… your bracelet…"

"Good, that's good, Olivia. Deep breath." Keeping one hand in hers, Verna took the glass from Jerry and handed it to her. "Drink that." She waited for her to take the last drink from the glass and set it on the table. "How long were you asleep?"

Looking at the clock by the tv, Liv sighed and laid her head back. "Ten minutes."

Not wanting to alarm her, Jerry rubbed her shoulder lightly and sat on the coffee table. "Long enough to have a nightmare."

She nodded and sat up moving her legs to make room. "What are you two doing here? I thought you weren't coming home until Monday."

"We decided to come home early. Javi is doing much better, and he'll be coming home at the end of the week. Verna offered to get the house cleaned up and get some groceries so they could just come home and relax in their beds. You would have known that we would be home today if you answered your phone. Why are you sending everyone to voicemail?" Jerry asked as he was tapping her knee.

"It died on me. I thought it turned back on when I put it on the charger."

Verna picked up the ringing phone from the table to see Fitz's name appear. "He's been worried all day. I'll let him know you're alright," she smiled and excused herself from the room to answer. "Hello, Fitz."

"Verna! Is she okay? Why the hell isn't she answering the damn phone? I've tried everything to get in touch with her," Fitz shouted while he bounced his leg up and down in California beside his mother.

"She's fine. We're at the apartment now. Her phone died and she fell asleep."

"What? Liv fell asleep?"

"She did for a few minutes. She's alright, Fitz. We have everything under control. You enjoy your time with Lily, and I'll be sure to have Olivia call you when she's ready."

"Verna, what do you mean when she's ready? What are you talking about?"

"Olivia woke up from a nightmare and is getting her bearings. We can take care of her. It will be fine. If she needs to sleep, Jerry will stay with her."

"No, Verna, you stay with her. Dad can sleep in the guest room."

Shaking her head with a sigh, Verna stepped further away from the living room. "Fitz, that's not your decision to make. Olivia needs to be able to decide for herself on her sleeping arrangements. I'm sure she's discussed with you before that it's always only been Jerry or Huck."

"She has, and I'm telling you that Dad cannot be the one to stay with her anymore. We've been together almost a year now. It's beyond weird."

Closing the door to the guest room, Verna forced herself to be stern with him. "Fitzgerald, I understand that she is your girlfriend. I understand that it can be an odd situation. The situation that Olivia's been put in is not easy. So, I am going to tell you from me and my two different standings. First, as your father's fiancé. It is very odd that a man of his age is going to a girl he considers his daughter's home to sleep in the same bed with her. But that is what she needs, and his family will always come first. I have come to terms with him being in the same bed as her and am fine with it. There is nothing remotely sexual about their relationship. It's not just him that does it. Huck does too. Kim is okay with it. Kim understands their bond. Olivia has a bond with Huck and Jerry that can't be replaced. Second, as a psychiatrist, as Olivia's psychiatrist. If you were to try to demolish the relationship that she has with your father, you will regret it. I am telling you that he is a lifeline that she needs. The same lifeline that Huck is. Were you to try to make her choose between you and Jerry, she would choose you. Olivia loves you. Without a doubt, that girl is beyond in love with you. A blind man can see that. If you push the subject of her and Jerry's sleeping arrangement, she will stop. Olivia would tell Jerry she is fine and doesn't need him in her bed anymore. But that will hurt her. Both physically and emotionally. She will run and run until she is at the point of exhaustion, and she will blame you. That will hurt your relationship with her and her mental health. Olivia will do anything to please the people she loves. That's the damaging part of a people pleaser. They will put everyone and everything above them and not care about their wellbeing."

"Verna, I'm not making her choose between me and him."

"You are, Fitz. If you ask her not to share a bed with Jerry, you are definitely making her choose. That's not fair to her. There are times that you cannot be here, and she needs to sleep. We have allowed her sleep deprivation to go on far too long before and the consequences were horrid. You have never seen a sleep deprived Olivia and I pray you never do."

Fitz sat on the couch rubbing his forehead contemplating whether to ask what the outcome would be or not. Choosing the latter, he laid his head back on the couch. "Was she having a nightmare?"

"Yes, but we managed to get her through the panic attack."

"Since when does she have panic attacks?"

"You need to ask her, Fitz. Anything that she tells me in therapy is confidential. I will ask her to call you if you'd like."

"Please do. I'll have my phone on all night. And tell her to turn hers on. She had to have let it die. That thing is practically glued to her hand."
