The Witch of Betrayal, a scorned Princess of Greece taught by the goddess Hecate. She was cursed by the gods to fall in love with Jason against her will. Then following that same man to get a treasure, the man who used her to get what he wanted. Tossed her aside. Then was branded a witch by the entirety of Greece because she was willing to do everything for Jason, including killing her own brother.

When Medea was summoned into Chaldea, she responded to the voice of a young man. The location, white walls, and clean room caught her eye the most. Not the usual dirty, unkempt basement or dungeon where mages like to keep their workshop and research.

However, when she saw the look of five people in front of her, only one truly mattered. The tall boy with a pretty face wearing glasses that showed brown eyes that held many secrets and horrors. Medea did the whole song dance of asking that young tall boy now named Mortem, her Master, to a simple 'Yes' followed by a nod.

Now what had The Witch of Colchis tense was the amount of mana she was receiving from her Master. She knew humans of this age couldn't produce mana of this quality without an outside source of some magnitude. To her, surprised and mild curiosity is that Mortem makes the mana himself. That and the lack of mana she was able to sense within him. She decided to wait on that mystery till she figured out what was going on.

As the days passed, Medea observed that her Master wasn't a human of this era but from another. She figured that out from dream cycles from her Master's life. Seeing the earth, but it was different, and finding out her Master uses ESP. This explains why she felt an otherworldly presence around Mortem and his general appearance.

It didn't take long for Medea to trust her Master with her name though he never asked because he knew already because of his psychic abilities and wanted to wait till she was ready to say her name. What caught Medea by surprise was how easily he accepted her. Not to say he felt right about her actions, but he sees how life and circumstances can push people to do things they regret. He never judged or looked at her with scorn. Medea didn't know how to feel about Mortem, but she trusted him enough to enter her workshop if needed.

Somewhere down the line of staying in Chaldea, Medea developed a strong protective relationship with Mortem. This is to say, if the need arises, she would undoubtedly sacrifice herself for his sake and is disgusted by the thought of betraying someone like Mortem. Gods forbid something hurts him on her watch. Because he was patient and saw her as a person and not an object that could be pushed around but an ally or, dare she say it, a sibling.

Medea noticed many Servants flock to Mortem's side, even Beast and other monsters of myth.

However, recently, Medea noticed something different about Mortem. His once outgoing and, albeit perverted, attitude changed into an anxious and observant one. Staring at everyone with a look of an injured animal sizing up its next prey. Many Servants, including Medea, were worried about their Master, who didn't go on activities and ate less compared to the usual Artoria levels of eating.

Today she was called to The Rayshift room. There she saw Mortem talking with Medusa and a Servant who looked like Artoria but wasn't. He turned and looked at her noticing her arrival.

"Hello, Medea," Mortem said with a smile. It seemed that Mortem was looking better. "You came early. We are going to rayshift in about 30." He then turned to the other two Servants. "This is Okita, and I'm sure you've met Medusa."

Medea looked at the Japanese Servant. She wore Japanese clothing with a katana at her hip and a hand on the hilt, itching to be used immediately. Though she had heard of Okita before as a passing talk among Servants. Being a Saber-class Servant would be the gossip among people, although, from Medea's perspective, she saw a manslayer; however, if her Master accepted her, he unquestionably accepted Okita as well.

Medea was already familiar with Medusa. They came from Greece and were used by gods, and history branded them as monsters. Though she usually wore a purple eye mask, she wore mystic eye killers (glasses). The skin-tight clothes complemented her figure even though she was ashamed of it. Mortem helped her accept her body and usually stays in the library as part of her job as one of Chaldean's librarians.

"Hello, Mortem. You seem to be in better spirits. Although I've met Medusa. Okita is someone I've never properly met before," the Witch of Betrayal, trying to get a better look at this King Arthur look-alike under her hood.

"Hey, nice to meet you," Okita greeted with a smile.

Medusa had nothing to say since she had already encountered Medea before, and they didn't really get along too well, probably because of their shared origins of how they came to be. However, they respect each other enough to work together for their Master's sake. So she nodded her head when she greeted Medea.

Medea would talk to Mortem about his feelings since she was still worried about him. However, fate had other plans as two more Servants entered the door.

"Hey, did you finish watching that horror movie I lent you, Bao?"

"Yep, although isn't the ending too anti-climatic? The masked killer comes to murder everyone at the cabin, but as he comes to kill everyone, the humans in the movie do the stupidest things, such as having intercourse to using drugs."

Baobhan Sith and Fujino Asagami were having a conversation about a horror movie. It was nice to see Servants getting along with each other in Chaldea.

"So you didn't like it?"

"I didn't say that. The faces of fear of the victims were pleasant, and I think it was a great movie if you like the gruesome scenes. However, the plot was trash."

"Hmm… well, to each their own, I guess. Oh, hello, Mortem and everyone else."

Fujino realized that people were there and possibly heard the conversation between her and Bao. Though a bit embarrassed, her stoic face made it hard to tell. However, Bao didn't really care. She always had an air of superiority, only acknowledging a handful of people and other nobles.

"Hello, small fry," Bao's smile widen upon seeing Mortem. "I see you're looking better than usual, although I find that smile on your face quite annoying." The Archer class Servant was an oddball, but Mortem found ways to deal with her attitude problem. He understands that every rose has its thorns, and Bao is no expectation.

"Well, hello to you, Bao and Fujino." Mortem waved at the two Servants. "Though it seems the princess is a little more sensitive than usual. Shall I get her mother to calm her down and pamper her?" Mortem said with a shit-eating grin.

All the Servants in the room visibly sighed. When it came to noble Servants or ones with a superiority complex who had their heads in clouds or up their asses. Mortem would usually start a friendly banter with some of them. Sometimes it could earn their respect to see someone from the lower class talk back to someone much higher though most of the time, it usually ends with other Servants breaking it up.

But for Bao, instead of getting mad at him, she just contended her banter. "It seems I should retract what I've said previously. You are not a small fry but an annoying bug I should crush on my hell. Though calling you a bug would be an insult to bugs."

"Since you brought up bugs, should I have brought Vortigern instead of you? He's much better in material runs than you are regarding overall support."

"If you think that bug can replace me, you have another thing coming, Mortem. I don't care if you're my Master; I will find a way to make you suffer. Starting by making you grovel."

"You would like that, wouldn't you? I didn't think Faeries would be so forward. You could take me out to dinner first. I'm not a common escort you can have your way with."

"...you." the princess growled.

Baobaon Sith looked angry and embarrassed. To everyone in the room, it was a warning and blessing. It was a blessing because Mortem was back to his usual self, messing with Servants and ruffling their feathers. It was a warning because he was messing with Faerie Knight Tristan. The most unstable and murder happy of all the Faerie Knights. This Servant was known for almost killing Ritsuka and several staff members because she viewed it as 'fun,' but she settled down when her Mother, Morgan, was summoned and had Mortem to mess with. However, it doesn't change the fact she still is a volatile Faerie, always looking for the next victim to have 'fun' with.

The Servant and Master continued their banter and snide remarks at each other. The Servants realized no conflict wasn't going to happen, and the two were just arguing for the sake of arguing. Mortem knew which button to press on the Noble Faerie, and the same for her. Though if you looked at her face, you would see a genuine smile under that mask of false anger and the same Mortem. Though there were sometimes she wished she could string up Mortem. The thought of murdering him felt nauseating to her stomach, and she often talked to her mother about it. To get the usual talk about her urges.

Mortem never said anything about it, but whenever Bao enters her 3rd Ascension form. She develops a weird relationship with Mortem, her Master, whenever she enters that state. Ending with her stalking him and sneaking into her room. Then waking up the following day, how she got there not before almost killing him and promising not to tell anyone. Mortem asked Morgan about that and went on about Bao becoming a maiden in love.

Eventually, they finished their fight of words, with Mortem winning due to the arrival of some more Servants, namely Alter Artoria Pendragon or Artoria Lancer, and Vritra. Alter didn't really talk to anyone else except Mortem and Vritra, ever the troublemaker was already scheming, baring her teeth at Mortem when she gave him a solid black rubrics cube filled with candy he had to solve to get the rest. Though as much as he wanted to toy with the cube, he pocketed it and promised he would solve it.

It didn't take long for the last two Servants to come, Minamoto no Yorimitsu or Raikou and a gloomy-looking Osakabehime. Raikou openly showed her motherly affection to Mortem to the ire of the Servants who were there watching. And Osakabehime looked dejected at her Master and wanted to go to her room, but when she returned, it was changed and clean. Only to be forcibly dragged out by the Mystery Slayer of Japan to the Rayshift room.

Medea watched the room become more lively with each new Servant entering, but she wanted to talk to Mortem, so she decided to wait till after this Rayshift was over.

"Seems like everyone is here. We'll begin the Rayshift process shortly." Mortem said as all the Servants began to ready themselves.

"Okay, Da Vinci, we're ready to go…" he gave the thumbs up.
