Blu: And so, as Tiny Tim observed, "God Bless Us, Everyone!"

Jewel: Wow, that was a very interesting story.

Bia: I can see why this story has lasted for so long and has been retold as many times as it has been over the years.

Carla: Listening to stories like this is one of my favorite parts of the season, next to hearing the various Christmas songs playing everywhere you go.

Tiago: It was so nice of Linda to let us stay in her bookstore for the holidays, especially because of how nice she is.

Blu: Yes, it was. Maybe we can read this again later if that's okay with all of you.

Jewel: Sure.

Tiago: Yeah.

Carla: Okay.

Bia: Absolutely!

Blu: That's what I thought. For now, I will let you guys hang out for a while. Jewel and I still need some time to rest after the long journey from the Amazon.

Carla, Bia, and Tiago: Okay.

And they flew off to do as they pleased. Once they left, Blu collapsed on the couch, feeling tired and a little bit depressed.

Blu: Ugh! This is so exhausting!

Jewel: I know, it's tiring for me too, but you know how it is with raising a family.

Blu: It's just that Christmas hasn't been the same for me ever since I left Minnesota and came here…

Jewel: I understand how you feel about Tiny-soda.

Blu: Minnesota.

Jewel: Oh, right. Sorry.

Blu: I just feel like I am always tired, it's not that I don't love you or the kids, but sometimes I wonder if it was all worth it.

Jewel: It was worth it. I love you just as much as you love the rest of us.

With his mate's words of comfort, Blu felt a little better, but deep down, he still felt a little down about himself and what he had been through in his life. He never knew his parents, and when meeting Jewel's family, he had a hard time fitting into their tribe of wild birds. He eventually gained his father-in-law's approval, but he would never forget how he treated him at first.

That night, Blu and Jewel were sleeping and Blu was awoken by a cold wind blowing over him that made him shiver.

It seemed only he was affected by the sudden chill in the air because Jewel was still asleep and couldn't feel it at all.

Suddenly, he heard moaning and out from the darkness emerged a ghost that looked like an older version of him.

"Bluuuuuuu!" it said, with a voice that, to Blu, sounded like Joaquin Phoenix.

Blu: Who are you?

Ghost: In life, I was your father, Alexandro. Me and my mate, Bianca, were captured by smugglers while gathering food and we were never able to come back. You have no idea how lucky you are to be able to raise a flock of your own.

Just then, the ghost of Alexandro's mate, Bianca materialized next to him and spoke with a voice that sounded like Melanie Griffith to Blu.

Bianca: I wish I could have been there to see you grow up, but it looks like you became a very good bird.

Alexandro: Tonight, you will be visited by three spirits who will show you just how much of an impact you make on those around you, whether you realize it or not.

Bianca: Our time is just about up, but just know that we love you and we wish you a great life.
