THE NEXT DAY

June was walking around and saw that no one was home. They're probably at Bruce and Brandy's restaurant right now. June was secretly happy that she was alone for the time being. She went to the living room and spotted a beautiful piano. She had an urge to play it but was uncertain. She was sure that Bruce and Brandy would be kind enough for her to play it. Feeling inspired, she sat down on the piano seat and began to play a song she'd been practicing at home.

The lights go out and I can't be saved
Tides that I tried to swim against
You've put me down upon my knees
Oh, I beg, I beg and plead, singing

Come out of things unsaid
Shoot an apple off my head, and a
Trouble that can't be named
A tiger's waiting to be tamed, singing

Floyd entered the house, unaware that June was around. He then heard a familiar angelic voice and that it was coming from the living room. He followed the voice and saw June singing and playing the piano. Floyd was smiling widely at how much fun she was having and couldn't stop watching her and didn't want to interrupt her.

You are (x2)

Confusion never stops
Closing walls and ticking clocks, gonna
Come back and take you home
I could not stop that you now know, singing

Come out upon my seas
Curse missed opportunities, am I
A part of the cure
Or am I part of the disease, singing

You are (x4)

You are (x2)

At this point, Bruce, Brandy, Poppy, Branch, Viva, and the brothers came into the house and saw Floyd. Floyd mouthed the word ssh and pointed at June. They noticed her and silently watched her singing and playing with amazed looks on their faces. Poppy and Branch were especially happy to see their friend singing again after not seeing her for so long.

And nothing else compares
Oh, nothing else compares
And nothing else compares

You are (x2)

Home, home, where I wanted to go (x2)
Home, home, where I wanted to go (You are) (x2)

June nearly got a fright when she turned to see that everyone was clapping and whistling at her performance. June blushed and bowed.

"Wow, girl," Viva said. "You can sing."

"Of course, I can, sister," June said with a confident smile.

"That was beautiful," Floyd said.

"Thanks," June said. "Just something I wrote."

"You write songs?" John Dory said.

"Surprise!" she said with a nervous grin.

"June, that was fantastic," Brandy said. "Don't you think, honey?"

"Oh, yeah, totally," Bruce agreed with his wife.

"June, you did it," Floyd smiled.

"Did what?" she asked.

"You performed in front of a crowd."

"But that's different, isn't it?" June said. "I was playing for myself just now. And, while being unaware, in front of friends just now. Just like how fun and easy it is to sing and dance at home. How is it different compared to singing onstage? Oh, right. Loads more people are watching and they might see me make a big mistake in my performance."

Poppy and Branch knew about June's stage fright and they tried to help her out with it as best as they could.

"June," Branch said. "If you think about it, it's not that different. You're still you when you're playing on a stage. You're just…showing the world who you are. Just like we know who you are."

"Yeah," Poppy agreed. "What he said."

June smiled at their words. "Well, when I get to that point, I'll remember that. And the importance of taking baby steps."

"Would you consider this a baby step?" Floyd asked with a smile.

June crossed her arms playfully and chuckled. "What do you think?"

"That song was great," John said. "Have you got more?"

"Well…" June said, looking nervous.

"I know that look. Come on," John said. "If we're gonna help ya, you need to show more of your talents."

TIMESKIP

June played two songs of her own for everyone and she felt more comfortable and was having fun during each song. After that, they called it a day and said that they would practice overcoming her stage fright tomorrow.

June felt like relaxing outside after seeing there was a beautiful sunset coming up. She walked to the beach and sat on the sand as she watched people playing on the water or making sandcastles. She was in total awe when she saw the sun and water meet.

"Sunrise, sunset. Sunrise, sunset," June sang to herself, inspired by the viewing.

"Hey."

She turned to see Floyd.

"Hi," she smiled.

He proceeded to sit next to her. This suddenly made her nervous since her heart was beating like a thunderous drum now that Floyd was close to her.

"Beautiful view, isn't it?" he asked her.

"Yep. What a sight to behold," she said. "What brings you down here?"

"Just also felt like the calm watching of a sunset."

"Okay."

They were silent before one of them said something.

"I really liked seeing you play today. You're really good with piano."

"Thanks," she said. "All that practice is paying off. That's the first time I felt confident with playing the piano."

"That can't be true," Floyd turned to her.

"No, it's true," she laughed.

She put her hand down but realized quickly it landed on Floyd's hand, making her gasp and put her hand back on her lap. She really wanted to avoid the awkwardness but didn't know how.

"Have you been doing okay after our months of imprisonment?"

"Yeah," Floyd replied. "It's been getting better."

"That's good. I'm glad," she said.

"And I'm glad you're with me right now after all that."

They were now staring intently at each other's eyes. They were slowly moving towards one another, almost as if they were about to kiss when suddenly a beach ball hit June on the cheek.

"Ow!" she exclaimed, rubbing at the spot where she got hit.

"Sorry!" a guy called.

"It's okay!" she said. She knew that it was an accident and didn't want to be grumpy about it.

"Are you all right?"

"Yeah, don't worry," she answered Floyd. "Just a little bump."

"Lemme see," he gently touched her cheek and his fingers went to where the pain was.

"Thank you," she said, referring to his warm hand rubbing on the sore point. "That feels better."

"You're welcome," he smiled.

They glanced at each other again while his hand was still on her cheek. He took his hand away while still gazing at her.

"Is something wrong?"

"No, no," he smiled and cleared his throat. "I was wondering…do you wanna have dinner tomorrow night? Just you and me?"

June almost widened her eyes and then responded shyly. "Yeah. I would like that."

"Great," he grinned.

"What time?"

"Seven?"

"Okay," she said.

"I'll pick you up around that time," he smiled.

"Cool," she said with a happy expression. Her heart was going crazy at this moment, unaware that Floyd was feeling the same.

The song is Clocks by Coldplay.
