June woke up with a big smile on her face. She was so happy that she thought nothing and no one could take it away from her. She replayed the kisses from last night in her mind as she slept and wished for more at this moment. Am I the only one awake this morning? She checked the window and saw the sun was rising but more like at six or seven A.M.

She suddenly felt inspired to make something for everyone while they were asleep. She sneaked downstairs to the kitchen while ensuring she wasn't making a single sound. When she got there, she immediately got to work with a big, determined look on her face. About an hour later, she heard voices coming from upstairs and readied herself, her back towards them. The group saw all the commotion and looked surprised.

"June?" Poppy was the first to speak.

"Good morning, everyone," June said in a cheery tone, turning around to face them. "I hope you like what I made. Flapjacks, scrambled eggs, and bacon."

Everyone widened their eyes in astonishment with this delicious display of breakfast.

"Yay, flapjacks!" one of the kids, a girl, said.

"What's all this about?" Bruce asked.

"Well, it's the least I can do as a big thank you for letting me stay with your family. Plus, I've been missing my passion for cooking. So," She wiped her hands dramatically. "Without further ado, dig in, guys!"

As everyone was getting a plate of everything, Floyd approached June. He hugged and kissed her on the forehead. "Good morning," he whispered in her ear.

"Good morning," she responded by kissing him on his cheek then giggled.

"What?"

"Oh, nothing," she said.

"No, what?" he insisted.

"Just admiring your cute sleep hair," she said. Floyd's hair wasn't properly groomed and looked like fluffy dog hair.

"Oh, yeah?" He proceeded to rub June's hair playfully.

"No! Stop!" She laughed while trying to remove his hand from her hair. "Get away!"

"Never!" he laughed theatrically.

After the funny moment, June said. "Come on, get your breakfast before the rest eat it all."

"Okay, Miss Bossy," he smiled.

She stuck her tongue out as he went to get a plate for himself. He saw her cheekiness and grinned. June also helped herself with her own food creations. And man, it was so good. So much so that everyone had seconds.

"Thank you, Miss June," one of the kids said.

"You're very welcome, little dude," she smiled.

Poppy, Viva, Brandy, Branch and his brothers also gave June a big thank you.

"I've missed your food, bestie," Poppy said.

"Thank you, everyone," June said happily. "So glad you liked it."

"Like it? I love it!" Clay and Viva said at the same time.

Floyd said, "The best breakfast I've had for a long time."

"Aww," June said, her hand on her heart.

It was already the beginning of the afternoon and June was busy writing songs. There were one or two songs she liked the most, regarding her eventual first performance on stage. Ones that spoke to her more as well as entertaining and inspiring listeners. There was a knock on the door.

"Come in," she said while writing.

"Hey, you."

She turned to see it was Floyd. Now he was nicely dressed with just his pants and neatly combed hair.

"Hello," she smiled. "What brings you here?"

"Just wanted to see what you were doing…and to give you something."

"What's that?" she asked.

"This," he held her face and gave her a peck on the cheek which made her chuckle.

"Thank you," she smiled. "Lovely surprise."

"So, what are you doing right now?" Floyd asked.

"Hmm," she said. "Writing more songs and also trying to decide which one I wanna sing first onstage."

"Do you feel ready for that?"

"Yes and no, to be honest," she said. "I'm a little scared I'll freeze out there but with all the practice with your brothers lately, I feel more and more comfortable and confident about it."

"That's great," he said. "I haven't forgotten my promise to help you, you know."

"Yes, I know," June grinned. "Thank you. So much."

"You're welcome," he said. "Can we talk about something else for a minute?"

"Of course," June said. "What is it?"

Floyd stood up, took her hands and led her to the foot of her bed where they sat down.

"June," Floyd began to say. "I'm so lucky that we met, despite our imprisonment in the beginning. But every day, I got to know you more and every time we talked and hung out, I started to like you. More and more. You're kind, caring, honest, feisty, funny, supportive, fun to be with, adorable. And awesome. I always feel happy whenever I'm with you. I feel like I can talk with you about anything. Good and bad. I like you a lot just the way you are…"

"And I like you a lot, just as you are," June smiled. "I feel the same. About how we can talk about anything. You make me very happy too. And I like everything that makes you beautiful on the inside. And the fact that you're handsome too is a bonus."

Floyd laughed. "With all that said…" He took her hands in his again. "June…will you be my girlfriend?"

She widened her eyes and blushed. "Does this answer your question?"

He looked at her, confused. Then she put her hand on his cheek and gave him a passionate kiss.

"Yeah, it does," he smiled, surprised by how she responded to his question.

"And," she said. "Important question for you too. Will you be my boyfriend?"

"Most definitely," he said as he leaned to kiss her, pulling her close to him and cupping her face.
