CHAPTER 1: A NEW BEGINNING

The horrible feeling of being conscious of being asleep overwhelmed him. Everything was dark, but the pain in his body was gone. "Am I going to be dead?" thought Aegon. And that's when someone gets drunk and throws himself off a forty-fifth floor, that's the logical thing to do. Besides the best thing to do, if you've just been thrown like a dog out of the company you yourself founded, and left in ruin.

Aegon Martell had never had an easy life, abandoned at birth, and moving from orphanage to foster home. He had started working from the age of fourteen mowing lawns in wealthy homes, even working three jobs at once to pay for student loans at Caltech, which had earned him a scholarship to graduate school in biomedicine and electronics. He still remembered when he graduated and created his cryptocurrency had made him a billionaire at the age of twenty-eight.

The glory had been as sweet as it was brief, because one of his old classmates, whom he had made a partner in his company, had committed embezzlement, even framing him while that scoundrel was buying a mansion in the Bahamas. They didn't even give him time to defend himself, and that added to the market crash, overnight he was left with nothing, and about to be arrested by the authorities, in an apartment that was being foreclosed!

He had turned to all his "friends" and they had all turned his back on make matters worse, during a medical check-up, a strange lump had been detected.

Most curious of all, when the emergency services found him, he had a wry smile on his although his heart had already stopped beating, he could see how his body was put in a bag to be taken to the anguish began to well up in him."My God" he said to himself, unable to believe his misfortune, for he had believed that with death he would find peace "I have entered hell!"

"You have not entered hell" said a sweet voice.

Aegon felt a small halo of surprise and hope, and before he knew it he was walking on clouds. The cold air rushing through his body was overwhelming, and he felt like an atom at the sight of an endless ocean. So he kept walking until he soon found a sweet girl with snowy skin, golden hair and cerulean eyes, like the white robe she wore, believing her to be a cherub. But what caught his attention was the flying lizard that hovered over him.

"Where am I?" asked Aegon in distress.

"You're dead" said the girl as she ran a hand over her head "oh...but if true, let's just say this is a test."

Aegon was startled and backed away.

"But what kind of proof can one ask of a dead man?" asked Aegon with no small amount of trepidation. To which the girl smiled at him.

"To enter heaven!" said the girl with glee as the lizard fluttered with equal excitement.

"To enter heaven?" wondered Aegon. He was no philosophical genius, but suicide was one of the deadly sins in virtually all religions. Then he heaved a sigh, knowing how without thinking about it he had made the worst possible decision.

"That's right!" she said energetically "Tell me Aegon do you know Song of Ice and Fire?" the girl asked with a sly smile.

Aegon sighed, how could he not know the saga. His name apart from being the same as a Dutch insurer, was the name of the first lord of the seven kingdoms and five others that followed. I still remembered the teasing I had suffered at school and the jokes about my father being Rhaegar, because besides his last name was too much, but what was I going to do, it was the name they gave him when they found him in the firehouse.

"Yes, I know her" he replied still chagrined "But what does that have to do with me?"

"Very simple" replied the girl flying around her in perfect synchronicity with her lizard "George RR Martin's story, has reached so many people, that the thousands of dreams of his followers have shaped in the subconscious has gone to Father Dream, and have resulted in another reality, the creation of the Game of Thrones , start sending people to improve it. And congratulations you have been selected, to have a great role."Aegon was surprised, he didn't think he was going to be ready for that world, but he didn't have much choice to be honest, he had already been treated worse than Jon Snow in his life, and he had backstabs with Ned Stark that might well have been a the other hand, the idea of living again had not seemed bad to him either, but his pessimism was beating him, besides, if there was any truth in the world, it was that it could always get worse.

"And what would I have to do?" asked Aegon, fearing falling into the clutches of Ramsay Bolton or the Mountain.

"Make things better, we know you know a lot and your knowledge plus a good position could do wonders in the seven kingdoms" she said with a big smile, while pointing at him with her little hands as she flew around him "but rest assured, if you do a good job, when your time comes, I will open the gates of heaven for you myself"

"By the way who are you?" he asked confused.

"My name is Octarya Vithelyris" said the girl "I am a direct descendant of the people of the shadows, who taught the Valyrians to create and control the dragons" however my existence fell into oblivion like my people, and now I am in heaven because they took pity on me.

Aegon found all this too strange to object to, but he knew he did not need to ask what would happen if he failed. So he watched in fear lest the earth swallow him up into hell. Instead, he felt his body fade away, as the girl looked up at him with steady eyes and an innocent smile.

"Cheer up!" he told her as his eyes sparkled at her "And remember, in life there are only two paths the easy and the right one, choose well!"

"But...!" he tried to say, but he felt like he was already flying in the wind as if he were a withered leaf with no direction.

"See you many years from now!" the little girl shouted to him in farewell mode as she waved her arms with her lizard mimicking her gracefully. "I wish you the best of luck...you're going to need it" she said looking down at the earth with some concern.

"we will send you a dragón" Said the little girl.

Then Aegon was plunged into utter darkness, though he began to feel warm and comfortable in his prison as he dozed for who knows how long. Until his peace was disturbed amidst the screams of a woman. And it became light, and cold as he had never felt before in his life. Unable to help herself she screamed, though she soon fell silent as she opened her eyes for the first time, to see the midwife smiling at her.

"It is a boy my queen!" said the old woman, as she wrapped him in blankets, and handed him to the bedridden woman.

Aegon stared at her, and she was save for the odd feature of the nose, identical to Emily Carey. And there was no doubt in his mind, her mother was Queen Alicent Hightower. The young woman, cradled him and smiled weakly at him. Aegon had never experienced a mother's love, so he was overcome with the warm feeling every child deserved, as an older man entered the room.

He had long, silver-blond hair a sparse but well-groomed beard, that was undoubtedly King Viserys I Targaryen. Behind him stood an older man with brown hair and beard, and a brooch in his hand. That was his grandfather Otto Hightower.

"Alicent..." said the king with a sincere smile, as he approached slowly, but you could tell he was nervous.

"It's a boy your majesty" said the queen with joy "I have decided to name him Aegon...if your grace will allow me."

"Of course" said the king as he took his newborn son in his arms and cradled him. Aegon stared at his father, who was surprised that he was not crying. Aegon smiled happily at him, though the sad smile on his father's face did not escape him, no doubt still mourning the death of his first wife and son. And that sentiment left a very bad taste in Aegon's mouth, and the king a bittersweet feeling to say the least.

"Ah right, my father is a fool" thought Aegon staring at the king. And he had read the books, and if there was a podium among the most imbecilic characters of Game of Thrones, Viserys Targaryen, would occupy the first place followed by Roberth Baratheon. Aegon from that very moment began to look at his father with contempt, thinking how weak and preferential he had been to his firstborn, who entered the room, and gave him a polite look, but one that did not hide his disdain for his person. "This man is not going to make things easy for me at all, and on top of that I am a newborn" he hated the fact that he could do nothing.

Aegon narrowed his eyes and looked at his Rhaenyra coldly. The time when Aegon Martell was beaten like a stray dog was past, and he would not let her or the psychopath who had his idiot father for a brother finish him off, he would not allow the dance, nor all the tragedies that came with it. If he wanted the gates of heaven to open for him, he would have to stop them.

"Very well dear sister" he said as he returned to his mother's arms, and watched as both women looked at each other with forced kindness "Would you like a seat? I'll give you the one reserved in hell for me" said Prince Aegon Targaryen, the future second of his name, the elder, the usurper, as he closed his eyes to rest. Faint rays of sunlight illuminated him, while the queen looked out the window. A great task awaited him.
