The Carousel Murders

Chapter 14th

Ten minutes later...

Leroy Jethro Gibbs was angry. He had to try to explain to Jack Sloane why it was his job to go undercover abroad at the U.S.S. Donaldson.

Angry he was as with Sloane inside one of the empty autopsy bays. "I told you, Jack for the last time that I was asked by Naval Intelligence to go undercover," he replied with the coldness of his tone.

Standing directly in front of him showing her emotions.

"Why you, Jethro?" she asked again for the final time. She waited to pounce on the 72-year-old.

He was seething with his hands behind his back. "Look! I came back here to work with this case and hopefully maybe move back to Washington, D.C. after my time in Alaska," he says calmly.

"And just what you plan to find out the truth and the one man that has already killed three men on board the U.S.S. Donaldson?" she harshly remarked with her question.

He moves in closer to her with his breathing somewhat heavy at the moment. "Close the case with either arresting this man or killing him outright Jack!" he says, grabbing her by the right arm to make sure that she understands him in what he's telling her.

"Hey!" pulling back her arm to hold it from the pain. "You're hurting me, Jethro." she cries out with Gibbs to let go of her arm for the moment.

"Sorry, Jack. I have a job that needs to be done. I will let the others to continue on with the case. While I will be ready to board the U.S.S. Donaldson." he responded with leaving passing McGee while shaking his head with his friend leaving.

Special agent Jessica Knight continued to stay with her as part of the protection including having security guards on rounds for 24 hours.

Knight was sitting in a brown chair while watching Suzanne work on her exercises, with Doctor Walters taking over. She had Suzanne to be helped off the bed for balance and with helping to strengthen her legs and arms.

For a brief moment...

Suzanne had lost her balance while taking a deep breath before continuing her exercises.

Jessica Knight had received a phone call from McGee letting her know that Leroy Jethro Gibbs was going undercover on the U.S.S. Donaldson to catch the serial killer. She wasn't pleased about it that her former boss was taking chances with his life...
