Chapter 5

Olivia woke up and stretched. It was still early. She found Lucy asleep on her floor. She left her sleeping while she used the bathroom and brushed her teeth. She checked on Noah first to gauge him. She left him sleeping peacefully. She then went to Riley's room. Riley was out cold. She knocked on Amanda's door trying to give her more privacy. "Come in." Amanda was dressed. She looked like she had been up for hours.

Olivia leaned against the door, "You're up and dressed." Amanda shrugged and Olivia noticed she was living out of her bag. "You have dressers and a closet. We're probably staying for a while. You should unpack." Olivia thought she looked tired. "Did you sleep okay?"

Amanda stopped and looked up, "Liv, just stop okay." Olivia straightened up. "I stayed last night, but I'm going to find a hotel. I can't put anymore on you."

Olivia watched her grab her bag. She stepped in and closed the door. "Do I scare you or something? Why wouldn't you stay? Unless you're worried about that ass of yours." Amanda didn't answer. "Maybe last night I wasn't clear. I know you need help and I know you hate asking for help." Olivia stepped closer, "But look around, I need help too and I'm not ashamed to ask. Stay and help me."

Amanda agreed. "Liv, what is this? What's happening between us? Is it what I think and feel?"

They were in the middle of a huge case and Olivia just wasn't sure. She was Amanda's boss and no one knew but she was also up for lieutenant. "I don't know, we'll figure it out. Hey, you're dressed first. Start by waking up Riley and she can help you with breakfast."

Olivia knew she had to take a different route with Amanda. She grabbed Noah and changed him. She put him on her bed and listened to him babbling. She rubbed Lucy's back. "Morning. The floor is hard. Why didn't you get in my bed?"

Lucy shrugged and saw Olivia wasn't going to back down. "Is the park shooting my fault?" Olivia was looking at her wondering what Lucy was talking about. "I saw Nina in the van. My friend Nina."

"Liv, breakfast is ready. Riley's eating pancakes. Want me to take Noah?" Olivia waved Amanda to come into the room.

Lucy looked at them. "Lucy, did you see the shooter?" Lucy began to breathe heavily. She fell into Olivia's lap and cried. "Shhhh it's okay baby." Olivia calmed her hoping Riley wouldn't hear her.

Lucy explained Nina had texted her asking where she was. She told her at the park with Noah and that she had been staying with Olivia. "I didn't know she wasn't my friend. I heard her scream my name from the van before the shots. Nina grabbed the gun and he hit her."

Amanda didn't think Lucy understood. She knew that if Nina grabbed the gun, she saved Lucy. "Lucy, who was the shooter?" Lucy shrugged, "I didn't see him." Olivia told her to go eat and take Noah.

Amanda watched Olivia stand up. She grabbed Lucy's blanket and folded them. Then she made her bed. "Liv, she's lying." Olivia nodded. "You're not going to press her?" Olivia shook her head and explained they would run the address of Lucy's building and Nina's information to go a different route. "I guess we have a lot on our plate tonight."

They left together when the kids were settled with the officers. They spent the day running information and getting ready for the night. They came up empty. "Let's put our focus on the job tonight. I'll talk to Lucy more."

They set up at Richmond Hill Motor Lodge in Queens. They were in adjoining rooms with eyes on Carisi. Amanda paced back and forth. "Amanda, are you okay?"

Amanda realized she had to calm down, but being in the room was freaking her out. "Yeah, sorry. I'm good. I hate hotels." She said she was good but Olivia had a hard time buying it when she jumped as Fin entered the room.

He closed the door. "Okay, the girl is on the way." They gave Carisi the word. They watched him open the door and a young girl slowly walked in.

He locked the door. "So how much?" She looked younger the more scared she became. She asked if he wanted a massage. He laughed and the crew thought he played the role well. "A massage. I want it rough!" The young girl began to cry. "That's what I want and if you can't do that, get me someone who can!"

The girl cried, "Please. I can call someone." Carisi watched her make a call, but wouldn't let her leave. It didn't take long for a knock at the door. Fin and Olivia jumped up to break it up. Olivia stopped Amanda, "Hey, keep the tape rolling."

They waited watching Carisi open the door with a gun in his face. "Wait! Don't! I just wanted it rough and you sent me the Virgin Mary." The man kept the gun on him. While the woman checked the girl.

She looked at her face and body. "Selena, what do you want to do?" Olivia gave the go. That's who they wanted. They burst open the door and Fin knocked the man with the gun on the head and he fell to the floor.

Olivia entered through the adjoining door and told them to get their hands in the air. Selena says the girl is her cousin and she was trying to help. "Save it!" She bent down and promised the girl that she was safe.

The squad looked at Selena through one mirror and the unknown man through the other. Amanda shrugged, "Her lawyer is in the way. We ran prints on him. His name is Arthur Jones." Olivia looked at the young black man playing it cool. "His lawyer's on the way too." Olivia wondered how these two could even afford it.

She grabbed Fin and entered the room seeing Selena's lawyer walk in. Selena immediately tried to explain her way out of it. Her lawyer held up his hand for her to be quiet. "Save it! We have been tracking you and with what we have you could face 10 years minimum." She turned to her lawyer, "I suggest you get her to tell us something." They walked out and they could tell Selena was terrified. She told her lawyer she didn't say anything.

They continued watching through the observation window. Amanda spoke, "That's not a look you give when your lawyer comes in. Did you see the look of terror on her face?"

Fin agreed, "Selena worked for those pimps and had to know about Ellie, Missy, and going after Noah. Liv, she's a victimizer now we have to build a case against her."

Carisi came in, "I have some good news! We found that kid Luna. We went to Serena's place with a warrant. She's in the kid's room." Olivia turned and grabbed Carisi, leaving Fin and Amanda to watch those two carefully.

Olivia saw the scared blonde girl. She walked in and smiled sitting next to her on the couch. "Hi! Remember me?" She gave her space. She was sad to see her bleach blonde hair was now so dirty it looked brown. She nodded. "Are you hungry?" She nodded again. "Carisi get her something please." When he left Olivia tried something, "My name is Olivia. Your name isn't Luna is it?" She shook her head. "Okay, well when you trust me maybe you can tell me what it is."

Carisi returned with a sandwich and chips. It was late, but they had to get to the bottom of things. "How do you know Selena?"

She took a bite and chewed. "She's in charge of us. I don't really know much, but the other girls said she used to be like us." Olivia questioned who was us and how many. "There are a lot of girls. I'm 14. Some are a little older. They make them sleep with people. I'm still a virgin. They just took me."

Olivia watched her eat. "Where are your parents?" She explained she used to live in Florida. Then her mom moved to Georgia with her dad, but he drank, did drugs, and beat her and her mom. "How did they get you?"

The girl sighed, "We moved back to Florida. I thought things would be better with my grandma but she died and my mom didn't like me anymore. She said I ruined her life." She wiped a tear from her eye. "She pulled me out of school and said she was sorry. She wanted to take me on a girls trip. She said we were going to Mexico. I was so excited. She bought me a fancy dress and took me to a restaurant. I met this man. They never said his name though. My mom sold me to him." Olivia shook her head. "He took me to Selena that night. He made me strip. He told her no one could touch me before him." Carisi took notes and they stepped out to talk it out. "Olivia, my real name is Kim." CPS sent Kim to the hospital.

Barba shook his head, "Tenancingo is the center of sex trafficking in Mexico. Pimping is their main industry and it is a poor village except for an area of mansions 5 stories high. Get Federal officers here."

The task force was able to ID three key people. As the squad looked at the men they all saw it. "This man is somewhere in the US, possibly New York. His name is Teodoro Juarez." Olivia pointed, claiming it was Angel, the man from Quickride. They realize he's gone, probably fled back to Mexico. "Looks like we're taking a trip."

Olivia had to wrap it up for Noah's sake. "Selena, tell the truth and cooperate and we will get your son back." Selena shakes her head if they want her to talk, she is worried they are going to kill her baby. Olivia passed her the photo of Ellie. "It's not a trick. Her son deserves this.

Selena sighed, "Ellie was smart and had spirit and that is always trouble. Everything they did, never broke her, that's why they killed her. Ellie was rare. They pushed drugs in her to control her. She always wanted to know about Noah."

Amanda walked in with Olivia on the phone, "Riley, you listen to Lucy. I'm on a big case, but I will be home tomorrow night." Riley quickly asked about Amanda. "She will be home too. I will tell her you said hi." Amanda spoke to Riley and then the conversation started. Olivia gave them a minute. "Okay Ri, be good and kiss Noah for me." Olivia hung up the phone, "She's a charmer. She gets it from me.

The squad went crazy seeing Nick enter. "You didn't think we were going without you. You did great work Nick. Welcome back." Nick hugged Olivia. He knew he owed it all to her. He had messed up and she had given him another chance. They hopped on a flight and tried getting some rest.

When they got off the plane they jumped in vans. Olivia reminded everyone about vests. "Okay, he's leaving with his wife only. All the kids are inside. Proceed with caution. They drove through the gate as Angel and his wife were leaving.

Guns were pointed and Olivia yelled, "Angel, it is over! Fin read him his rights. Angel smiled and told his wife to call the lawyer. He told Olivia that she was stupid and he knows about the baby and where she lives.

Fin jumped to her defense, "Are you threatening my Sergeant's kid?" His wife causes a distraction Angel elbowed Fin and reaches for a gun, but Fin fires first and shoots Angel. "It's over now!" Olivia watched him lay there dead, but got the feeling it was far from over. Now they had to get back and find out who the next one was in line.
