Mito clasped her hands together. "What a beautiful mirror, Hashirama! I cannot believe my clansmen gifted something so luxurious to us!"
Hashirama nodded. "We must find time to thank them. Perhaps a honeymoon to the Land of Whirlpools is on the docket?"
The Mito clone unfolded the comforter to their bed. "Sounds like a plan to me." She said with a cheeky grin.
Clone Hashirama yawned. "Well, I'm exhausted, so let's plan it tomorrow, shall we?" He smiled as he lay in bed beside her.
"Sounds good, honey." Mito kissed him. "Goodnight."
"Goodnight, love." Hashirama turned their lamp light off and the clones went to sleep.
Hours had passed when a chakra signature was detected from the mirror. Slowly, a foot stepped onto the wooden floor, and a Miyashita shinobi emerged. He looked around the room and began reaching for his pouch. In an instant, veiling tiles collapsed. Madara and Hashirama plummeted to the ground, lunging for the man. As he went to step back into the mirror, he turned to face a guarded Tobirama with kunai at the ready. The three men assaulted the intruder and held him as Mito jumped into the air and yelled while placing a seal on his forehead.
"There! It's done. He can't wield ninjutsu." She grinned.
The doors to the bedroom swung open. Reina and the ANBU black ops stormed in. She pointed. "Detain that man and follow Tobirama to base at once!"
"Yes, ma'am!" They said in unison before doing as told.
Mito ruined the seal on the mirror, rendering it useless. "There… now we have a nice mirror and no shinobi flying through it."
Madara grabbed Reina's hand. "To the feudal lords. Stat."
Reina nodded. "Right!" The two jumped off the balcony and made their way out of the village. "I can't believe that worked!" Reina exclaimed.
"He stood no chance. We are all way too coordinated and elite to have failed." Madara smirked. "Now, time to protect the useless royals." He grimaced, earning a chuckle from Reina.
….
In a dark room within the ANBU base, Inosuke Yamanaka invaded the intruder's mind. "His name… Fukase Miyashita."
Tobirama transcribed everything as he spoke. "What are their motives and where are their next targets?"
Inosuke breathed deeply. "They want… they want Reina's power to constantly fuel themselves with power? Their leader, he had preached that her endless chakra reserves could stop them from mindless slaughter, though they still desire to rule the nation if not the world. This way, by taking over, they can ensure their own twisted sense of world peace."
"I'm confused." Tobirama shook his head. "They don't want to kill people?"
"They enjoy it, but in order to gain power and respect they chose to go with Reina as the more humane option. They kill in a ritual to be able to have the powers that they do." Inosuke scoured Fukase's mental landscape. "They've sold mirrors everywhere, but the only ones with seals are residing within the Hidden Leaf and the feudal lords' tower. They wanted to start small as to not create awareness via other nations."
"I see." Tobirama rolled up the paper he wrote on and tied it. He handed it to an ANBU squad. "Send this to Reina and Madara right away."
"Yes, sir!" They disappeared in a flash.
Tobirama gritted his teeth. "I can't believe Reina was right all along… this is going to get ugly." He closed his eyes. "Reina, please get there in time."
…
Reina and Madara were outside of the tower, surveying the land. "No, suspicious action, thus far." Reina commented.
"Lady Reina." An ANBU member said as his group arrived. "From Lord Tobirama." He handed her the paper.
Reina untied the paper and Madara immediately looked over her shoulder. "Oh my god… I was right."
Madara smirked and placed a hand on her shoulder. "That's my woman. Now, let's go inside. You ANBU, come in and aid us in locating every mirror in the building. If there is a seal on the back- ruin it. If a shinobi steps out of the mirror, kill them and destroy their corpse."
"Yes, sir!" They responded in unison.
With the determination of a lioness, Reina smirked and commanded. "Alright, let's head in,"
….
Shika sighed as Kagami cried. "Why is this baby crying so much?"
Chiharu shook her head while lowering her teacup. "Aside from the obvious answer of missing his parents, couldn't say."
"Is there a stuffed animal nearby? Something to calm him down?" Shika inquired desperately.
Chiharu stood up. "I'll look around." The Uchiha elder shuffled around the house when she entered Madara's office. She poked around and saw a chest in the corner of the room. "Oh?" She opened it up and smiled in delight when she found a teddy bear. "Perfect!"
…
Reina slinked through the darkness, checking every mirror. So many had the seal on them, but not all. It was likely that only a few would infiltrate, write seals on other mirrors, and then a whole army would storm the castle. Just as she rounded a corner, she quickly moved back around it, watching as a shinobi stepped out of a mirror on a wall, stepping onto a buffet table in the hallway before landing on the ground. He was incredibly stealthy and certainly skilled.
In a flash, Reina was behind the man with a kunai to his throat. Mercilessly, she slit it open and the man's corpse dropped to the floor. An ANBU member picked up his body and ran off with it to dispose of. Reina quickly took the mirror off the wall and destroyed the seal before hanging it back up.
….
Arata sat still with his eyes closed as if meditating. "Our portals in the castle are being closed. The feudal lords will soon be unreachable." He was a sensory type.
Nao turned to his clansmen. "You know what to do." He aggressively pointed to the mirrors in the shop. "Full-scale attack!"
…
Inosuke continued. "The base of their operations is a mirror shop in the Land of Wind. That's where they plan on infiltrating from."
Tobirama's eyes widened. He turned to a second ANBU team. "Head to the Land of Wind and destroy the shop. Here is the address!" He handed them the paper. "Make haste!"
"Right!" They all nodded, but as they were about to disappear, a vibration could be felt rattling through the building.
Tobirama looked up, "What now?!" He turned to Insouke. "He's useless now. Kill Fukase."
Inosuke nodded and pulled out a kunai. "With pleasure."
Just as Tobirama opened the door to the interrogation chamber, an ANBU member appeared in front of him. "Sir!" The leader spoke.
"What's going on?!" Tobirama demanded as blood splattered the wall beside him from Inosuke's killing blow.
"The Hidden Leaf is under attack!" The man yelled. "We are currently fighting the intruders while our shinobi evacuate civilians."
Tobirama nodded. "Carry-on. I'll be out there soon." He turned to the ANBU team he almost dispatched. "Along the way, tell Reina and Madara about the attack. Have them return IMMEDIATELY."
"Sir!" They said before vanishing.
Tobirama clenched his teeth, traveling at warp speed to the Hokage's tower. He whipped the door open to Hashirama's office. "Brother! The villa-"
Hashirama's back was to the door, Mito beside him, as he watched outside the window. They slowly turned to face Tobirama, clad in armor.
"Are you ready to unleash hell?" Hashirama smirked.
…
"That's the last of them," Reina said while throwing the last body on the bonfire they formed. "It's strange…"
"What is?" Madara inquired.
"How… seamless that was-" She could barely finish her sentence when an ANBU group appeared.
"Lord Madara, Lady Reina!" He kneeled. "The Hidden Leaf is under a large-scale attack. Your assistance is required at once!"
Reina and Madara looked at each other with horror. "KAGAMI!"
…
Chiharu opened the wall panel to the dungeon room in Madara and Reina's house. "This is where they said to keep him."
Shika made her way down the stairs with haste and placed Kagami in a crib that was waiting just for him. "There there." She cooed to him so as not to cry. "You have a teddy bear to keep you company. Mommy and Daddy will be back soon." She hurried back up to the main level and Chiharu shut the wall.
The elders began turning off all lights within the home and hid in darkness, ready to fight any intruders.
…
Reina and Madara raced through the forest, knowing it would take some time before they reached the village. Reina somehow was faster than Madara, rushing towards their baby. "I hope the did as told. I hope Kagami is alright."
Madara reassured her. "I am sure he is fine. The wall is sealed and can only be removed from someone who has been taught the seal or from within. He'll be alright."
Reina tried not to cry. "I hope so…"
Truth was, Madara was equally as worried and couldn't move fast enough to get home. "He will be." He reassured, but more for himself than for her.
…
Hashirama dispatched wood clones to help civilians and fend off the MIyashita shinobi. Once villagers were close to the tower and the mountainside bunkers, she placed multiple seals of protection around them so no one could be harmed.
Hashirama and Tobirama and various shinobi clans came to fight alongside the ANBU black ops. The Miyashita, however, were formidable. Not only did they travel at light speed through mirrors, but they were well-versed in taijutsu, fire and lightning style jutsu. The smallest of objects with a seal could transport them, making them extremely slippery.
"This is bad." Hashirama grimaced. "We need Reina."
"Why?!" Tobirama inquired. "Just use your Deep Forest Emergence?"
"She can be bait. They want her anyway. And I can't just destroy the village!" He yelled.
Tobirama pointed. "If you couldn't tell, the village is already being destroyed!"
"I don't want to change the damn landscape of our home!" He roared before charging into battle.
…
Hours had past and the Uchiha couple finally arrived, but to much of their horror, the village was ablaze. There were conflagrations and destroyed buildings everywhere.
"Shit!" Reina said as she and Madara made their way closer to the outskirts where most of the action was happening. Reina stopped and bit her thumb, dragging blood across her palms to summon her bunnies on a collapsing roof.
"Hello hello!"
"Hello mother!" The wispy creatures pranced around her.
"Go save the villagers and wipe out all of the Miyashita clan!" Reina commanded.
"Of course, mother!" They sang before disappearing into the village.
"It seems as if your brothers and the village shinobi made a dent in these assholes." He looked ahead. "We need to find your brothers and regroup."
Reina nodded as the two of them hastily jumped over to where Hashirama's chakra signature was. "Hashirama!" Reina yelled as she saw him.
Hashirama turned to see his sister and friend when two shinobi appeared behind them. "Behind y-!" He couldn't even finish his sentence when the two shinobi were killed in an instant by Madara's Amaterasu. "Well… fight fire with fire." He nodded in approval while panting.
Reina ran over to Hashirama, Madara following right behind. "Who is coordinating this attack?!"
"We aaare~!" A voice called from atop a pile of rubble.
Tobirama landed beside them. "We?"
The man laughed. "Uh, yeah! Are you deaf or something?" He turned and began running off towards the edge of the village.
"Hey!" Reina roared and ran after him, her family following suit.
"Reina!" Madara called. "He's headed towards our home!"
Madara quickly used his Susano'o as they approached their him. "You're done!" He yelled.
The man chuckled and stood outside their front door. "I'd rethink that if I were you." He said while opening their front door. "Come on out… brother."
Reina held out a hand. "Madara! Stop!"
Madara stopped dead in his tracks as a figure emerged from the darkness of their home. Madara's eyes widened with fury. "No…!"
Slowly, a tall, slender man, with warm skin, caramel brown hair, whiskey eyes adorning glasses, and a tattered blue scarf emerged with baby Kagami in his arms. He smirked and held a kunai to the baby's throat.
Arata Mita giggled and turned to the Uchiha and Senju. "Attack and the baby gets it!" He said with a grin.
"That's… that's Nao." Reina fell to the ground, tears streaming down her face. "No… our… our baby…"
Madara walked over towards her and held her in his arms. "It's going to be alright."
As if he didn't exist, Reina disregarded Madara and screamed at the top of her lungs. "NAAAAAOOOOO!" She roared with pure hatred. "HOW COULD YOU DO THIS?! YOU WERE PART OF THEM ALL ALONG!" She cried but raged through her tears. "YOUR PEOPLE RUIN LIVES! HOW COULD YOU?!" She wept and shook her head, turning to her brothers. "And you guys… never told me Arata Mita was a Miyashita."
"They were tied to your past." Hashriama spoked firmly. "We didn't want you to be hurt and lose control, so we kept him at bay by taking control of your life."
Tobirama lowered her head. "And by not being transparent we further ruined it."
Reina banged her fists on the ground. "WHY?! WHY?! WHY?! WHY?! WHY?!" She wept.
Nao sighed. "I'm sorry Reina… but now you can see how ugly your own family is… and it's not like that Uchiha bastard didn't know either. He wanted your power just as much as we did anyway."
Arata chimed in. "That's right. Do you really want to aid people who have ruined your life at every corner? Come with us and we'll stop fighting and your baby will live. What do you say?" There was a long silence before he continued. "You can be with the man who you once truly loved." When he received no response, he sighed. "Listen, time's a tickin' Reina. We haven't got all night."
Arata lost his composure and his face contorted into true rage. "YOU MEAN TO TELL ME YOU CAN'T DECIDE BETWEEN PEOPLE WHO'VE HURT YOU ONCE VERSUS PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN SABATOGING YOUR LIFE THIS ENTIRE TIME?! REINA! WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN REDUCED TO?! ARE YOU REALLY THIS PATHETIC?! HELP US! HELP THE WORLD!" He smiled again as if switching personalities. "All we want is world peace… and we need you for that… We need you. You're… Valuable."
Time stopped for Reina as she heard his voice ring through her head. "You're… valuable… valuable… valuable…"
