Pain and darkness... That was all he could hear and see. How long has he been like this? How long has he been gone? He wants to wake up from it. He knows he isn't dead, but it does feel pretty close to it. Just then, a sudden change came. He could finally see light shining through the darkness and could see once again. Taking a moment for his eyes to adjust, he could see once again. Once he could, he felt groggy and in pain, but at least he knew he was alive.
'Where am I?' He wondered.
"Davis! You're awake!" He looked to the side and saw what he thought was an angel staring down at him. "Thank goodness! You're okay!"
"Kari? Is that you?" Davis asked.
"Yeah. It's me. I'm so glad to see you're waking up and you're okay." Kari said. "Tai! Come here! Davis is waking up!" That was when Davis saw the man he always admired.
"Davis! Welcome back!" Tai said.
"Back?" Davis questioned as he didn't understand. He sat himself up and had a look around. He figured he was in a hospital room because that's what it looked like. He had a look around to see he wasn't the only one in the hospital room. There were three others resting in the hospital as well. "Yolei? Cody? Ken? What is this?! What happened?!" He was starting to panic and worry when he saw his friends like that, but he was still in some pain.
"Easy, Davis." Tai said as he and Kari tried to get him to relax. "You've been out of it for a long time. Your body still needs some time to recover."
"The others are still resting. You just happen to be the first one to awake." Kari said.
"I... I don't understand..." Davis said. "What's going on? How did we end up here?"
"A lot happened." Kari said. "Speaking of which, we should let the others know that Davis is awake as well."
"You're right. They'll be glad to know that, and maybe now Joe could use that medical knowledge to tell us when the others are going to wake up." Tai said.
"Hey! Stop ignoring me! Will someone just tell me what happened?!" Davis said as he was starting to get a little annoyed. There was so much to tell and the two of them weren't really sure where to begin.
"Let's start with this." Tai said as he had a seat next to Davis' bed. "What's the last thing you remember?" Davis tried to focus on that, but some pieces weren't quite fitting just right.
"It's still a bit of a blur..." Davis said as he tried to think. "I remember my D-3 going off for the first time in a long time. It was like it was trying to warn me about something. When I held it near my computer...the digital gate opened once again. I figured that it was great since I could go see Veemon. I didn't wait and went through the gate. I wasn't the only one either. When I got there, I saw the others were there as well. We all met up and then... I can't remember after that."
"It's okay, Davis. We're just glad you're back with us." Kari said. "The thing is...that happened a long time ago."
"What?" Davis said as he didn't get it.
"Davis... A lot happened while you were gone." Tai said. That was when Tai and Kari told him the truth. They told him everything for this all happened not that long after the battle with Ordinemon, as well as meeting Meiko and Meicoomon. During that time, Davis and the others were gone and are now starting to be caught up to what happened.

The Dark Ocean
A lot happened to Tai and his friends. Not only did they reunite with their digimon, but they also made two new friends in the process. However, they also had a few enemies. It was a tough battle for them because they had to fight one of their own, and ended up making the hardest choice: destroying a friend. They thought their troubles were over, but they weren't. There was so much more going on than they thought. One of which was the fact that there was an evil Gennai still out there, and he sometimes takes on the form of the former Digimon Emperor. He was still out there. A powerful being known as King Drasil attempted to "reboot" both worlds, and this evil Gennai aided in that. However, there might be more to this. When Ordinemon was defeated, he slipped away and went to the Dark Ocean.
"The Quantum Sea...or as those digidestined seem to refer to it as...the Dark Ocean." Evil Gennai said as he marveled at what he thought was beautiful when this world is one of pure darkness. "I can just imagine the chaos those pathetic humans would have had to endure if their world clashed with this one."
"It's too bad our original plan didn't quite work, but that's why we have contingencies." He looked behind him and was speaking to someone else that was in that world, a woman. "You managed to get it, right?"
"I did." Evil Gennai said as he held up a black cube the size of a dice. "A piece of Apoclymon's data that was right inside Meicoomon. The very reason Meicoomon acted so savage, and became the cause of the virus. Those digidestined fools never had a clue. Since they don't, we still have the advantage."
"Good." The woman claimed. "The reboot of the Digital World has brought us some new powerful digimon that we can use and help, and now King Drasil won't be able to stop us. After our first plan failed, it would seem that King Drasil has been shutdown for the time being. That means we don't have to worry about his power interfering with our plans."
"But those brats and their pets will surely get in the way. The reboot was meant to break them apart, but now they're even stronger than ever." Evil Gennai said. "Actually, I don't mind that. I still get the chance to have the pleasure of tearing them apart."
"As you will." The woman said. "Of course, your prisoners managed to escape, but are injured and weak. We need to finish them while we still can. You can leave that part to me. I think it's time I step in." Who is this woman? Just what is she and this evil Gennai are planning?

The Real World
"So, let me see if I have this all straight." Davis said. "While we were out of commission; you guys got your partners back, you met another digidestined named Meiko, your digimon lost their memories, they can all become megas now, their memories are back, but you had to destroy a fellow digidestined's partner?" He listed as Kari and Tai finished telling him all that he has missed.
"Yeah. That's about most of it." Kari said.
"And the reason you guys are in a hospital was because I found you locked away in a lab. You and the others needed some real help when Mr. Nishijima brought us back." Tai said with him still upset over what happened to his teacher. "Ever since it ended, Kari and the others have been coming by to make sure you and the others are doing okay."
"Yeah. See?" Kari said as she showed she's been leaving flowers for all of them. It was lovely, but something was bothering Davis.
"That is a lot to take in. I almost can't believe all that really happened. There's just one thing that's bothering me." Davis said.
"What is it?" Tai asked.
"It's more like...what I'm not hearing." Davis said as he seemed upset. "What I'm not hearing...is that you guys didn't really look for us!" Suddenly, he grabbed Tai by the shirt and pulled him towards his angry face. "What the hell, Tai?! We were gone all this time and you didn't even try to look for us?!"
"Davis, calm down. Keep your voice down." Tai said.
"We were missing and you didn't even question it?!" Davis said as he ignored it. "You guys didn't even try looking for us! Why? Too busy with your new friend?! What about Veemon and the others?! Do you even know what happened to them?!"
"Davis, it's not like that." Kari said.
"And what about you and T.K.?!" Davis said. "We were a team, but you two didn't do anything to try and help us! You didn't contact us or anything?!"
"Davis, we just assumed you guys were safe." Tai said. "When Gennai came disguised as Ken and took Meicoomon, Matt went to talk to Himekawa. She said she was keeping tabs on you and the others, so we assumed you were safe."
"You believed a complete stranger?! You just said she was the reason we were missing! You didn't even know we were gone!" Davis said. "Now we don't even know if Veemon and the other digimon suffered the same fate as Agumon did with the reboot! I thought we were friends, and you and the others completely bailed on us!" This is the first time Davis ever got so angry with Tai. He can't even look at him anymore. "Just get out! Some leader you are." He said as he just shoved Tai away. Tai didn't want to upset Davis anymore, and Davis' words hit rather hard. He did what Davis asked and just left the room.
"Davis, I swear it wasn't what you think." Kari said as she tried to explain.
"Kari, I rather be left alone right now." Davis said as all that anger was causing his head to hurt. "I think I still need some rest." If Davis doesn't even want Kari around, he must be angry. Kari just did the same thing as Tai and left him alone with her leaving the room. After what just happened in the room, Tai went and had a seat outside and thought about what Davis just said. Those things Davis said were true. What could he and the others have been thinking? He looked up to see Kari joining him.
"Well, that didn't go the way I expected." Tai said. "I thought for sure he feel happier once he saw you."
"Let's just give him some time." Kari said, but she was feeling the same thing.
"He's right." Tai said. "Why didn't we notice anything sooner? Why didn't we try to get in contact with them? We should have known something was off."
"We were all together again at that airport. When they didn't show, we just assumed Veemon and the others didn't come back." Kari said. "Besides, Cody goes to a different middle school than we did. Ken lives on the other side of town."
"That's still no excuse." Tai said. "For crying out loud... Himekawa had a D3 and D-Terminal on her. Those had to belong to Ken. We should have known something was off, but we did nothing."
"A lot of new digidestined got those during the battle with MaloMyotismon. She could have gotten that from anywhere." Kari said.
"It's still no excuse." Tai repeated. "Before, I would have charged straight into battle. Now, it's like I see things differently. I've felt like that really since that whole thing with the infected digimon started. I wasn't thinking like I did before, and now our friends were held prisoner because of that."
"Tai, Davis looks up to you. He's admire you since we were kids." Kari said. "I'm sure we can work things out with him. You and Matt argued a lot, but that just made you two closer." Kari thinks they can fix things and Tai certainly does want to. Kari wants to as well. Davis and the others are just as important to her and she wants to help her friends. After giving it a moment, the two of them went on back to the room.
"Davis, I want to explain things..." Tai said, but that was when he noticed something. He and Kari were shocked to see that Davis was gone. "Davis!"
...
Davis
After his little argument with Tai, Davis snuck out of the hospital. Knowing what he does now, he had to get moving. He changed into his regular clothes and hurried as best as he could, but his condition was making things difficult. He had to lean against a wall for support, but he had to try.
"I've got to get back to the Digital World... I've got to find Veemon and know if he's okay." Davis said as he was really worried what might have happened to Veemon with all that he was told about. He just needed a way to get there.
"Can you believe those digimon?"
"Yeah. They're dangerous."
"Why can't they just stay in their own world?" Davis could also overhear a few people talking about digimon. What happened before is causing more negative thoughts about the digimon. Davis doesn't like hearing about that, but he'll have to worry about that later. He needs to worry about his own digimon at the moment. He kept trying to move, but that was when he heard something above him.
"What the..." He looked up and saw something was happening. It was like some sort of portal was opening up right in the sky. "What? Is that one of those warps Tai mentioned?" That means something is coming. It was actually something big as something fell right out of the warp and crashed right into the ground and caused the area to shake. Davis looked up and saw it was a DarkTyrannomon. It just stood there and didn't do anything, but that made things uneasy. "What's DarkTyrannomon doing here? I thought those guys beating Ordinemon solved the problems?" This was weird, and only getting weirder. Someone in a black robe stood on DarkTyrannomon. When she looked around, she spotted Davis and smirked right at him. It looks like their troubles aren't over just yet.
AN: Okay! I'm going to give this story my best shot, but I might need a little help with this one. If there's something from tri you think is unanswered or unresolved, let me know and I will try to appeal to it. I got a general idea of what's going to happen in this story, but some of it will be made up as I go. I'm not even entirely sure how long this story will be. Despite that, let's try to get some reviews or whatever we can going.
