On the Nemesis, Dreadwing was speaking to Megatron about recent events as the repairs caused by Optimus' new Star Saber was finished.

"Forgive me, Lord Megatron. While I do not question the wisdom of our tactical retreat, know that I am fully prepared to lead the troops in a counterattack against the Autobots." Dreadwing proclaimed.

"Counterattack? Perhaps you failed to notice Optimus Prime cleave an entire mountain with a single blow." Megatron reminded. "With the Star Saber in his possession, my enemy obliterate us all with a wave of his hand. I must find a way to tip the balance of power back in our favour."

"Do we not also possess a powerful relic of the ancients?" Dreadwing questioned.

"Indeed, the Forge of Solus Prime. But it is useless, except in the hand of a Prime." Megatron replied, until he came up with a sinister idea and laughed. "But might wield that power if I were to control such a hand."

Meanwhile at the Autobot base, Optimus was still staring into the glowing Star Saber as the other Autobots watched in silence.

"Optimus, what is Alpha Trion saying?" Ratchet asked.

Optimus didn't hear him as he was shown to be in some kind of empty void and staring at a bright light in front of him, which then took the shape of Alpha Trion.

"I wish that I could meet you under better circumstances, Optimus Prime, but I fear that Iacon will not withstand the next Decepticon assault." Alpha Trion's voice said.

"So you speak to me from across the ages." Optimus replied in understanding.

"If you are listening to this message, then I take solace that you now possess the Star Saber. I am certain that you have deduced how these Cybertronian relics and Decepticon weapons came to be found on such a remote world. Indeed, I transported them there." Alpha Trion explained. "Not so much to keep them far from Megatron's hands, but to ensure that they reach yours. As you may have long suspected, the Covenant of Primus records events of the future as well as the past. My imperfect understanding of it's runes affords me a shadowy glimpse of what is to come. The covenant's pages foretold that you, Optimus Prime, would journey to a small but significant planet and there engage in a crucial chapter in a war against the Decepticons. They also said that you would one day cross paths with beings from another realm, one that is of unnaturally magic origin, and that they would aid you in the coming battle. I know neither the nature of the battle or it's outcome. I only hope that these relics of the ancients will aid the Autobots in your time of need. Of utmost importance, in a few moments I will launch the last of the relics. The most significant and powerful of them all."

Just then, Optimus' vision conversation with Alpha Trion ended and he lowered the Star Saber down, kneeing in the floor and letting out an exhausted groan as Ratchet approached the Autobot leader.

"Easy, Optimus." Ratchet instructed as Optimus stood back up.

"You're looking pretty worn out, Prime." Cliffjumper admitted. "You should take some time to reenergise."

"So, did Alpha Trion ask about me?" Smokescreen asked before Bulkhead shoved him back.

"What was the message?" Bulkhead questioned.

"You've gotta tell us something." Jazz said.

"It is paramount that we recover the final four Iacon relics, the Omega Keys." Optimus answered.

"Keys?" Arcee repeated.

"To what?" Wheeljack asked.

"To the regeneration of our home planet." Optimus announced.

In Earth's orbit, the Nemesis was flying away from the planet and heading towards the moon as Megatron and Dreadwing stood on the main hanger.

"Earth's moon is a baron rock, is it not?" Dreadwing asked.

"Indeed, Dreadwing. But the moon is not our destination." Megatron said.

When the Nemesis got closer to the moon, something moved from behind the giant orbital rock and it was revealed to be the Decepticon Space Bridge.

"A Space Bridge?" Dreadwing asked in surprise.

"Our very own, relocated here after the Autobots discovered it's whereabouts on Earth. The dark side of the moon is hidden from prying human eyes. And more importantly, we'll out of the Autobots' reach." Megatron explained. "Come, Dreadwing. We shall travel to the one place in the Galaxy which may provide us with the means of defeating Optimus Prime."

Megatron and Dreadwing transformed into their Jet forms and they flew towards the Space Bridge, which activated and sent both Decepticons to their destination once they entered the green vortex.

Meanwhile, the Autobots were expressing their excitement over the fact that they had an actual opportunity to bring Cybertron back to life.

"Pack your gear! We're going back to Cybertron!" Cliffjumper remarked.

"Now this is the kind of good news I like!" Jazz stated with a big smile.

"I still can't believe this is happening!" Bumblebee replied joyfully, causing Ratchet to laugh in happiness.

"Well, believe it now, Bumblebee." The Autobots medic said. "Civilisation, at last."

"But I just got here." Smokescreen admitted.

"Remember oil baths. First thing I'm gonna do planet-side is soak for an entire solar cycle." Arcee said with a blissful smile.

"Hahaha, I can't wait to tell Willow!" Bulkhead chuckled in happiness, until everyone's moods turned depressing when they realised they might have to say goodbye to the Hexside Squad.

"And…Luz." Arcee said softly.

"And…Amity." Cliffjumper added.

"Gus, too." Wheeljack muttered.

"Hunter…" Bumblebee said with a sad expression.

"And…Vee." Jazz whispered.

"And Skara, I guess." Smokescreen said, feeling a little depressed since he has just started to bond with his witch friend.

Ratchet didn't say anything, but he was also a little depressed over the fact that he might have to say goodbye to Luz and her Witch friends. Smokescreen managed to hold in his feelings and he approached Optimus, who was working at the main console to decode the next Iacon coordinates.

"Uh…Optimus, keys open doors. Can they really revive an entire planet?" Smokescreen asked.

"While I am unfamiliar with the lore of these Omega Keys, Alpha Trion knew many secrets." Optimus replied. "And the ancients possessed technology that has long been to what we consider modern science."

On the other side of the Space Bridge, Megatron and Dreadwing flew out of it and they arrived at Cybertron. The two Decepticons began soaring through all the ruin cities that were lost during the war for Cybertron.

"The devastation to our home is worse than I remember." Dreadwing said solemnly. "Curse the Autobots to the pit."

(Linebreak)

"Whatever their function, this much is certain. We cannot restore Cybertron without all four Omega Keys in our possession." Optimus told the Autobots.

"Which means we can't afford to lose a single one to Megatron." Arcee added.

"That's gonna easier said than done." Cliffjumper said.

"Four sets of coordinates from Alpha Trion remain encrypted. It is logical to conclude that each corresponds to the location of one of the Omega Keys." Optimus explained as he looked at the Iacon database on the main console. "I must not waver until I decode them all. The future of our home world depends on it."

At the same time, Megatron and Dreadwing arrived in a rusted section of Cybertron and they arrived in front of a door, which slowly opened to reveal a small room with something sacred inside.

"A tomb?" Dreadwing asked, slightly surprised by what he was looking at.

"One known to contain the remains of Primes." Megatron replied as he approached the tomb. "Please, tell me you're not adverse to desecration."

"It is just that being in such a place evokes powerful emotions. Considering the fate of my twin." Dreadwing said.

"Then you should delight in our purpose here, to exact our revenge of Skyquake and all of our fallen brethren." Megatron told him.

Dreadwing then grabbed the lid of the tomb and he used all his strength to slid it off, grunting loudly in the process. When the lid was off, Dreadwing stepped back in shock from seeing the body inside the tomb as Megatron brought out his blade and swiped it down at the body.

Back at the Autobot base, Ratchet was building a metal object for Optimus as the Star Saber laid next to him.

"You shall require a more practical means of carrying such a blade." Ratchet told his leader, who continued working at the main console.

"I feel funny saying this, but I'm not sure I wanna go back." Arcee admitted as she and her teammates were discussing the possibility of leaving their Hexside friends.

"Who knew we'd ever get so used to our new home." Bulkhead said.

"The whole thing hasn't been perfect, but it was all still great." Wheeljack commented.

"I just don't think I'm ready to say goodbye to Hunter and the others." Bumblebee said.

"Yeah, I don't think I'd ever wanna leave Vee." Jazz said in agreement. "She's been through a lot and needs tons of support."

"I wouldn't wanna leave Skara, either. She's the first organic friend I've ever gotten to make." Smokescreen added.

"We've made friends here. Family." Cliffjumper expressed.

"They could always find a way to reach our planet. Their magic is capable of doing nearly impossible things, after all." Ratchet told the others as he continued working, hoping to raise their spirits.

"Besides, I've been fighting for so long, I don't know if I can do anything else." Bulkhead admitted.

"You can go back into construction." Ratchet suggested. "The power of the ancients may breathe life back into Cybertron's core, but our war-ravaged cities will surely require rebuilding."

"I wouldn't make any travel plans yet. We still have to locate these Omega Keys and secure them before the Cons do." Arcee reminded.

"Yeah, like that'll be a problem. Optimus has the Star Saber, now." Smokescreen assured confidently. "Megatron's end is in sight."

"The kid's got a point. I mean, it's not like bucket-head can just build his own giant sword." Wheeljack agreed.

Speaking of Megatron, he had arrived back on the Nemesis and was laying back on a medical table with Knock Out standing next to him.

"Yes, I can do it, Lord Megatron. If you're certain that's what you really want." Knock Out said.

"Like nothing I've ever desired before, doctor." Megatron declared.

"I shall induce stasis." Knock Out informed as he prepared to press a button on a nearby terminal.

"No! I wish to bear witness as you attach my new appendage." Megatron replied.

"Coming up." Knock Out said, shifting his hand into his buzz saw blade.

As Knock Out got to work cutting off Megatron's right arm, the scene shifted to show a large container that had the severed arm of an ancient Cybertronian Prime inside.

Meanwhile, Optimus had finished decoding the first Iacon coordinates to the first Omega Key as it was shown on the main console.

"Autobots, I have decoded the first set of the final four coordinates. Divide into teams in the event that I'm able to decode another before the first team returns." Optimus instructed.

"I'm on Team One." Smokescreen announced. "Who's with me?"

"I'll go with ya, kid." Jazz replied, walking to the Ground Bridge next to Smokescreen.

"After you, sir. Buddy? Commander?" Smokescreen said as he didn't know what to address the Autobot Lieutenant as.

"We'll just be teammates on this one." Jazz told him. "Stick with me and everything will go smoothly."

"Those two get more alike everyday." Arcee whispered.

"Too true." Cliffjumper agreed.

"This should be interesting." Ratchet said before he activated the Ground Bridge.

Jazz and Smokescreen transformed into their vehicle modes and drove into the Ground Bridge.

(Linebreak)

On the Nemesis, Megatron walked into a large room where the Forge of Solus Prime was laying on a table. The Decepticon leader had a new arm replacing his cannon arm, which was crimson-red and had some yellow highlights. Megatron chuckled sinisterly while looking at his new arm.

"Yes." Megatron said before he picked up the Forge, causing it to emit a large amount of blue energy when it sensed the presence of a Prime from Megatron's new arm. "At long last, the power of the Primes belongs to me!"

(Linebreak)

In the middle of the Egyptian desert, the Ground Bridge appeared in midair and Jazz and Smokescreen drove out of it. The two Autobots transformed and aimed their blasters around for any signs of Decepticons.

"First ones here." Smokescreen said after looking around the area.

"I ain't picking up a locator beacon, so that's gotta mean the relic's still buried. Looks like it's right…" Jazz said while looking at his scanner device, which beeped rapidly when he pointed it at a distant ruin area. "There."

(Linebreak)

Back on the Nemesis, Megatron was reportedly smashing the Forge of Solus Prime onto a familiar dark substance as Thundercracker, Skywarp, Knock Out and Dreadwing watched.

"So, what does that thing do again?" Skywarp asked. "We've had it on this warship for so long, that I can't remember it's purpose."

"The Forge of Solus Prime possesses the ability to create anything from raw material." Dreadwing explained.

"And in this case, said raw material would be a big hunk of Dark Energon." Knock Out added.

"With something like that, Lord Megatron will definitely be able to make something that will rival the Star Saber's power." Thundercracker proclaimed as they continued to watch Megatron smash the Dark Energon with the Forge.

(Linebreak)

Jazz and Smokescreen arrived at the Egyptian ruins and were walking towards an entrance, but the Autobot rookie had some things to say.

"Uh, Jazz, I…I just wanna talk to you about something. I never meant to endanger Skara. Humans of Witches squish easily, I get that now. Even if they have magic powers." Smokescreen said sincerely. "I was really getting along well with Skara and I'd hate it if anything terrible happened to her."

"I get what you're trying to say, Smokes, but Skara's not the whole reason for yesterday's mess. Team Prime just can't have any casualties, wether the members are Cybertronian, Human, Witch or even Basilisk." Jazz explained. "Arcee lost her first partner back on Cybertron, so none of us wanna go through that again."

"Not gonna happen, Elita Guardsman's honour." Smokescreen replied before he thought of something from Jazz's sentence. "Wait, Cliffjumper wasn't Arcee's first partner?

The two Autobots then walked into the underground ruins, which was definitely where the Omega Key was.

(Linebreak)

As Megatron continued using the Forge to craft a new weapon from Dark Energon, Soundwave approached the Decepticon leader and displayed a beacon's location on his screen face.

"You have decoded the next set of Iacon coordinates." Megatron realised. "Excellent work, Soundwave."

(Linebreak)

Back in the ruins, Jazz and Smokescreen slightly crouched down in the tight area and they followed the scanner's beeping guidance.

"Heh, nice of the humans to pile all these rocks ontop of our relic, Huh?" Smokescreen said sarcastically.

"It sure is cramped in here." Jazz agreed.

He used a flashlight to guide their way and he soon saw that the scanner was beeping uncontrollably at a certain area. Jazz and Smokescreen came to a stop and they looked at the walls, which were displaying ancient Egyptian tapestry of two men holding a key-like object in the air.

"Pretty much spells things up, doesn't it?" Smokescreen.

"Sure does. Give me a hand with moving this thing, kid." Jazz instructed as he put both his tools away.

Jazz and Smokescreen pulled on a piece of the wall and it slid out of it's position, allowing both Autobots to see the Omega Key inside. Once the key was in their possession, Jazz and Smokescreen began to make their way out of the underground ruins.

"The ancient humans must've thought the Omega Key was a gift from the gods." Smokescreen theorised, holding the key in his hand.

"Guess they weren't wrong in some way." Jazz quipped.

The two Autobots then made it out of the ruins, but were shocked to see Megatron standing in front of them.

"The relic. Now." Megatron demanded with a glare.

"Two against one, we can take him." Smokescreen said in confidence.

However, Megatron pulled out something from his back and it was a huge blade made up of Dark Energon, glowing in the sinister purple energy that was the Blood of Unicron.

"Ratch, we need a Ground Bridge! ASAP!" Jazz stated urgently.

Not giving them any chance, Megatron swung his new sound and it blasted out a wave of dark energy that sent Jazz and Smokescreen flying back and crashing onto the floor, with the Omega Key landing near them. As Megatron approached them, Smokescreen got back up with a painful grunt before he brought his blaster out and started charging at Megatron while shooting at him. Megatron deflected the blasts with his blade as Jazz recovered and fired his blasters for cover. But then, Megatron launched another energy wave at Smokescreen and the Autobot rookie had no time to react as he was blown away and crashed into a pyramid with the energy wave creating a massive explosion on him.

"KID!" Jazz yelled in horror after witnessing everything.

When the dust settled away, Jazz saw that Smokescreen had completely vanished as a sign that he was most likely disintegrated by the energy wave.

"No…" Jazz whispered remorsefully as he fell to his knees, while Megatron stood over him and held the Omega Key in his other hand.

"What manner of treasure did Iacon send us this time?" Megatron asked, pointing his new blade directly at Jazz. "I would slice you in two right now, but I need you to deliver a message. Tell Optimus Prime that if he wants this relic, he must come and claim it himself."

The Decepticon leader tossed the Omega Key into the ground as a Ground Bridge appeared near Jazz, who knew that he had no other choice but to deliver the message to Optimus.

(Linebreak)

When Jazz arrived at the Autobot base, he explained what had happened to the other Autobots.

"And then, Smokey got blasted into that pyramid and was…gone. Like he was turned to burnt atoms." Jazz explained with his head down in sadness.

"Poor kid." Bulkhead lamented.

"It should've been me. I did nothing but stand there shooting at Megatron when I could've knocked Smokes out of the way." Jazz proclaimed in guilt.

"Jazz, don't blame yourself. You did everything you could." Arcee reassured.

"Arcee is right. It could just as easily have been you." Ratchet added.

Just then, Bulkhead, Bumblebee, Cliffjumper and Wheeljack brought out their weapons.

"I say we go claim a piece of Megatron's miserable metal hide!" Wheeljack stated angrily.

"I'm with you, Jackie!" Bulkhead agreed.

"He's gonna regret what he did to Smokey!" Cliffjumper announced.

"Let's go get that spawn of the glitch!" Bumblebee shouted in a mad way.

"No. We have already lost another one of our own, today. I will not risk more lives." Optimus declared, more calmer than the others. "Given what Jazz witnessed, it stands to reason that Megatron now possesses might to equal the Star Saber. Which means only I have a chance of recovering the Omega Key."

"The fate of Cybertron rests upon it's retrieval." Ratchet said.

"Wether Megatron knows it or not." Cliffjumper added.

(Linebreak)

Later back in Egypt, the Ground Bridge reappeared and Optimus walked out of it with the Star Saber resting on his back. As Optimus walked through the sand-covered ruins, he then saw the Omega Key on the ground before noticing Megatron walking towards him.

"Claim your prize, Optimus. If you can." Megatron said challengingly.

Optimus noticed Megatron's new arm and was shocked by it's appearance, recognising it as the arm of one of the original Thirteen Primes, Liege Maximo.

"By the Allspark, Megatron, what have you done?!" Optimus questioned in horror.

"This? I find it affords me certain advantages, such as the use of the Forge of Solus Prime." Megatron replied before he pulled out his new evil sword. "My first creation, fashioned from the very blood of Unicron. I call it the Dark Star Saber. Slayer of Primes, if you will."

Megatron let out a loud battle cry as he charged at Optimus, who activated his battle mask and pulled out his Star Saber before charging at Megatron as his weapon glowed brightly. Megatron swung an dark energy wave at Optimus, who jumped over the attack and launched his own energy wave in retaliation. Megatron used his Dark Star Saber to slice the energy wave in half before he shouted out and did the same thing again at Optimus, who cut through his energy wave with ease. Optimus quickly used a piece of the ruins to jump over an energy wave and he brought his Star Saber towards Megatron's Dark Star Saber. The two great enemies engaged each other in a huge sword battle while sending energy ripples across the whole area before they soon came to a stalemate.

"At last, we take our rightful places, Optimus. As gods, wielding the power of the cosmos." Megatron sneered before he grabbed Optimus by his throat and pinned him against a stone ruins.

"I am but a soldier, Megatron. And you are a prisoner of your own twisted delusions!" Optimus stated, knocking Megatron away with a strike from the Star Saber.

Megatron immediately recovered and launched an energy wave at Optimus, who quickly rolled out of the way as the energy wave ended up destroying one of the Egyptian pyramids. Optimus and Megatron went back to clashing their blades against each other, until the Decepticon leader was able to slice Optimus on his right arm and leave a cut mark on it.

"My Dark Star Saber has tasted one Spark tonight." Megatron said, referring to when he destroyed Smokescreen. "It still thirsts for that of a Prime!"

Optimus and Megatron locked blades with each other, only for Megatron to slap his foe away and make him fall against the floor. Optimus got back up and Megatron yelled out loudly before bringing his Dark Star Saber down onto the Star Saber with all his might, causing the legendary weapon to suddenly shatter into hundreds of pieces. Optimus' eyes widened in shock from seeing the Star Saber now destroyed and all the pieces disintegrated into nothing, while the Autobot leader fell to his knees and hands in defeat. Megatron victoriously held the Dark Star Saber over Optimus to finish him off.

"And so it ends. Just as I envisioned, with your head beside my new trophy." Megatron said while grinning deviously, raising his new weapon for the killing blow.

"Oh, you mean this?" A familiar voice asked as Optimus and Megatron saw Smokescreen, fully alive and holding the Omega Key. "Finders, keepers."

While surprised at first, Optimus quickly stood up and he attacked Megatron with what remained of the Star Saber. Smokescreen started to rush in to assist Optimus.

"Smokescreen, fall back!" Optimus called before Megatron shot out an energy wave, causing Smokescreen to avoid it.

Optimus and Megatron struggled against each other, but Optimus managed to shove Megatron to the ground and kept him there for a bit until the Decepticon leader punched him away. Megatron launched another energy wave, but Smokescreen suddenly made him and Optimus phase through the attack once he was close.

"Ratchet, Ground Bridge!" Optimus ordered on the com-link.

"No!" Megatron yelled in anger from seeing the energy wave did nothing.

"Missed us." Smokescreen said mockingly.

A Ground Bridge appeared behind Optimus and Smokescreen, prompting them to quickly run towards it. Megatron yelled in absolute fury and swung an energy wave at the two Autobots, but they managed to get into the Ground Bridge and it closed up, causing the energy wave to hit nothing but air. Stepping out from the sandy atmosphere, Megatron laughed in evilness as he knew that Optimus stood no chance against him now that the Star Saber was destroyed.

"Run, Optimus, run! Those trinkets from Iacon will not save you. Not when I now possess the power to TEAR THIS WORLD APART!" Megatron shouted mightily, holding the Dark Star Saber up and making it emit a storm of evil energy.

(Linebreak)

At the Autobot base, the other Autobots watched Optimus enter the area as Ratchet escorted him away for a quick recovery. However, they were all shocked to see Smokescreen show up from the Ground Bridge.

"Smokescreen?!" Bulkhead asked astonishingly.

"And Omega Key number one." Smokescreen replied as he showed the key to the others.

"You're alive." Cliffjumper said, feeling relived and surprised.

"But…how?" Arcee asked.

"Yeah, I saw you get blown away and there was nothing left of ya from that attack." Jazz recalled.

"I, uh, decided to borrow the Phase Shifter." Smokescreen admitted, revealing the device on his wrist.

"Again?!" Ratchet asked in disbelief as he was repairing Optimus.

"Good thing, too. The wave from the blast hit me like a wrecking ball." Smokescreen explained while having flashbacks of that moment. "The impact must've activated the Shifter. I don't know how long I was unconscious. But when I made my way back outside, Optimus and Megatron were deep in an epic throw down. I waited for the right moment to make my move."

"You're learning." Jazz said, impressed by Smokescreen's efforts.

"So can I keep it?" Smokescreen asked hopefully. "I mean, it is really working out for me."

"I mean, he's really good at using that Phase Shifter." Cliffjumper said. "Better than any of us."

"Fine, fine." Ratchet replied, knowing he was outvoted.

"Yes, signature weapon!" Smokescreen cheered.

However, everyone's happiness turned to sadness when they saw the destroyed Star Saber laying on a nearby crate,

"You got yours. Optimus lost his." Wheeljack said with a depressed expression.

"The balance of power shifted again." Arcee said softly.

"While he may have wielded the power of the ancients for only one day, Optimus does not require it to be mightiest if warriors." Ratchet replied as they all turned to see Optimus back at the main console, busy with decoding the last three coordinates to the remaining Omega Keys.
