Hello. I'm sorry I'm late, but I'm here now. This is a sick fic and Caspian is being an overprotective husband, and we love it.
Caspian woke up to the most beautiful woman in the galaxy by his side. The Gentle Queen, the High Queen, and many more. The royal titles just can't do the justice to describe how truly beautiful she is both inside and out; he can't really believe that she is his wife. His queen, his querida. In some peaceful mornings like this in their private castle, he just likes to watch his wife peacefully sleep. Susan became more tired day by day since she was pregnant with their second child. Caspian doesn't really mind what gender it might be, despite being raised by fairly sexist people, but he loves everyone equally. Susan finally woke up because of her senses; she sensed Caspian staring at her with his dreamy eyes and such.
"You're staring again, my love." Susan said in her usual morning voice.
"What can I say, mi vida? You look so peaceful and beautiful when you sleep." Caspian told her with pure love in his voice. Then he proceeded to give her a long kiss and then he removed the covers from her stomach and settled his head underneath her breasts so that he could talk with their unborn child. Susan melted inside as she watched him talk so gently with their baby.
"Love, I think we should get up now. Annelise will be up soon and we both know how energetic she is in the morning." Susan told her husband, even though she had no wish to get up herself. Caspian got up from her stomach and then started to kiss her neck. She purred in pleasure, but this moment was interrupted by a whine outside their door.
"Mummy! Daddy! Look what I found!" Annelise called out and then rushed back to her parents' spacious backyard, which was guarded by a fence. Beyond that point, the woods started.
"Well, I guess we have to wake up since our beloved daughter has found something." Susan said. Both of them sighed and got up, and Caspian quickly left to see if their daughter had found anything possibly, potentially dangerous. Susan however, felt a little dizzy and brushed it off so she wouldn't worry Caspian over something little. She started to get dressed by putting on a simple and flowy dress. She stopped wearing a corset anywhere but special occasions. Not if Caspian had anything to do about it. The dress was in a periwinkle colour and had a black ribbon as a belt to go with it. After getting dressed, the feeling of the dizziness still didn't leave, if not slightly increased.
"What did you find querida?" Caspian asked Anne as he followed her through the garden.
"Look at this bird! Isn't it beautiful?" Anne asked, while pointing her tiny index finger up at the tree. Caspian looked up to see the said majestic bird. It was indeed, as phoenixes are known to be smart creatures. The Pheonix decided to play along with the little princess.
"Your Majesty, I am here to remind you of the council meeting in Cair Paravel, with the Lords, and especially, Aslan is back and he would like to catch up on what's happening in Narnia." The Phoenix spoke.
"Thank you for reminding me and for letting me know, great Phoenix." Caspian replied, and the Phoenix flew away to Cair Paravel.
"Bye Bye Mr. Phoenix!" Anne called out. To her surprise, Caspian swept her off her feet as she giggled and screamed, as he carried her to the dining area for breakfast.
Susan was preparing a light breakfast since she was feeling more and more dizzy but not enough to be noticeable. She prepared some scrambled eggs, with butter toast and sausages. It didn't take long as they all eat lightly in breakfast.
"So what do you have for schedule today?" Susan asked Caspian, as she took a small mouthful of food.
"A meeting with the lords, paperwork, and apparently Aslan came back so I have a meeting with them. I think Peter will also join me. What about you?" Caspian asked her.
"Archery practice with archers and the junior archers, some paperwork and teaching history in the University." Susan replied. Narnia has prospered even more in education as the Telmarines joined in. They needed everyone to get along so Caspian ordered to make a University for everyone, to surprise Susan as she always wanted to give everyone education.
"My love, please be careful when you are practising Archery. I don't want a situation where you or the baby is hurt." Caspian told her with worry in his tone.
"Of course Caspian, I'll just demonstrate and instruct anyway." Susan told him as she was getting up to wash the dishes.
"Mi vida no sit down, I will wash the dishes." Caspian told her as he rushed to the side. Susan was amused but she took a seat anyway.
"Anne let's go upstairs. Let's get you dressed up for school." Susan told Anne. Anne rushed upstairs to her bedroom to get dressed. Susan walked upstairs leaving Caspian to wash the dishes. Susan still couldn't fight off the dizzy feeling, which now turned into mild nausea. She still brushed it off, thinking she'll be ok as she goes on about the day. She thought it was not noticeable, but Caspian noticed that something was off.
They all went to Cair Paravel together, Susan rode with Caspian on Destrier whilst Anne rode her talking horse named Grace. Anne learnt to ride when she was just 6 years old. Susan and Caspian both agreed to go together from now on when Susan got pregnant with their second child until the child was born. They were both excited to find the gender of their baby after a few weeks(yes now they also have modern healthcare). Anne went to her school and both of her parents said goodbye as they galloped off to Cair Paravel.
They both entered the massive castle while being addressed immediately by everyone. Lucy came running in to hug both of them while Peter, Edmund, Trumpkin and Reepicheep came behind her.
"Susan! Caspian! It's so good to see you!" Lucy exclaimed while hugging both of them tightly simultaneously.
"Lu, you literally saw them yesterday, we have dinner everyday together." Edmund said.
"It doesn't matter I miss them anyway. I only have two sisters Susan and Lilliandil so I will always show appreciation to them, and Caspian is the only brother who isn't mean." Lucy shot back. Caspian laughed at her remark.
"Hey! I am not mean!" Peter called out.
"Sometimes you are!" Lucy called back.
"Calm down! We have to get things done. Besides Aslan is coming!" Susan told them. They all hurried off with their duties, leaving Caspian and Susan alone.
"Love are you sure you'll be alright? There's something off about you today, you know you can tell me anything right-" Susan cut Caspian off.
"I am fine, really, I mean look at me! If I was really sick I wouldn't move an inch from our bed being the lazy pregnant woman I am." Susan said trying to calm him down, when in reality Susan wanted to go home and go to bed and throw up. That's how nauseous she was.
"Ok, fine I will go to the council meeting then, please tell me if anything's wrong, and be careful." Caspian told her and give her quick peck on the lips.
"Yes Caspian I'll be ok. Now go! The lords are waiting for their King." Susan replied.
Archery practice
It was a hot and sunny day. It was a long day especially for Susan. She taught the student in the University, finished some paperwork but she couldn't finish most of them because just looking at the paperwork made her nauseous. The archers were practicing and Susan was instructing the junior archers. The weather was strong that day, and that didn't help Susan with her nausea. It has become worse and it was slightly noticeable. She was teaching a little Telmarine girl and she was very enthusiastic and energetic. Susan didn't notice that Caspian was watching her from the resting benches. Caspian was gazing at her, thinking how lucky he was. He always thought that. Every chance he gets.
Susan's condition was getting worse and worse. Her eyes started to see spots, she was feeling dizzy and dizzy by the moment, she let out a soft whisper.
"Caspian"
Thud
Thankfully an archer caught her just in time before she could fall on her back. Caspian ran as fast as he can to her side. Susan was unconscious at the time and Caspian quickly carried her to the nurse.
"Caspian" Susan's voice was startled but weak. She was currently in their royal chambers with Caspian by her side. Lucy, Peter and Edmund were standing outside to see if their sister was ok. Caspian let them know and they left to give Caspian and Susan some privacy.
"My Love why didn't you tell me earlier?" Caspian asked her, Susan noticed that he was clearly hurt.
"Why didn't you tell me that you were sick? I thought we promised each other that we'll tell each other everything!" Caspian told her with anguish in his voice.
"I am so sorry Caspian... I-I thought that i-it's just a mild dizziness, I thought I was going to be fine. I-I didn't think I will collapse like that. I am so s-sorry. I should've have told you earlier." Susan told him while she cried openly. Caspian quickly caught her in his arms and kissed her sweaty forehead. He wiped the tears away and lifted her chin up.
"It's ok my love, but promise me, that we will tell each other everything, especially in critical times, I know you were doing it for me so that I am not worried the entire day but please my love. Don't ever put yourself or our baby in danger like that. What if the archer didn't catch you? What if I wasn't there in time? What if you collapsed in the bathroom and no one noticed? My love I know this time it was not serious, but if it was, I don't know how I would live without you. You are my very soul, you are the owner of my heart. Please my love. Tell me everything from now on. Tell me everything that's bothering or hurting you because I won't bear it if it costs you." Caspian told her as tears welled into his eyes. Susan was moved by what he said. Susan hadn't thought of it in his perspective or Annelise's. She was selfish. She only thought in her perspective.
"Yes Caspian, from now on, I will always tell you everything. I am so sorry that I have been selfish." Susan told himsorrowfully.
"No, I won't have you beat yourself up for that." Caspian said.
"Am I forgiven?" Susan asked.
"Only for a kiss." Caspian said as they brought their lips together. They kissed all their sorrows away until they were out of breath.
Susan recovered in a few hours with some medicine, water and food. Then Susan got dressed to go to pick up Anne from school. Caspian helped her, much to his enjoyment(if you know what I mean) and he wasn't letting her out of sight anytime soon. Susan showed some annoyance but in a humorous way because secretly she enjoyed it. She loved it when Caspian turned all overprotective husband mode, she thought it was hot. After a lot of comments of how beautiful his wife is and making out sessions they finally got ready and they left Cair Paravel to pick up Anne from school. They left with Destrier and picked Anne from school only to return to Cair Paravel to spend the night there with their family.
Dinner was uneventful but still amusing as always. Lucy and Edmund arguing with their sarcastic remarks and comebacks, Peter and Caspian were talking about swords and battles and how jealous they are of Anakin as he had a cool lightsaber. Anne babbling about what she did in her school to Lucy and everyone laughing how smart she actually is for an 8 year old. Lucy bugging Susan for details about her and Caspian. Susan didn't mind sharing the details, she was glad that she has someone to vent to including Lilliandil. Lilliandil was just listening to everyone's conversations. Peter sometimes overheard Susan and Lucy and he glared at Caspian who just shrugged.
"Don't look at me, you do this with your wife Lilliandil too, it's not only me it's a universal thing. How did Anne came to be-" Caspian was cut off by Edmund.
"Enough we are eating! Seriously brother you have to stop! This will make me throw up!" Edmund told Caspian.
"Well he started it!" Caspian said referring to Peter.
"Shut up three of you. Honestly! Literally no one is better than the other. Constantly arguing! Just change the topic." Susan said.
"Mummyyyy. How are babies made?" Anne said very curious about what her dad said earlier about how she came to be.
"Look! Caspian just look! Look what you made our daughter question! This is not the time to tell an eight year old!" Susan exclaimed. Lucy and Edmund was snickering, Peter not far behind, Lilliandil was amused and smiling and Caspian was wide eyed dreading and regretting everything he said and questioning his existence.
"Princess how about I give you 5 chocolate bars and then I'll tell you when you're a little older? How does that sound?" Caspian pleaded.
"Ok daddy!" Anne gladly agreed.
"Great just great now you'll give her a sugar rush!" Susan whispered.
"It's going to be fine I will take care of it." Caspian whispered back. Edmund and Lucy were red refraining from bursting to fits of laughter. Peter is just there shaking his head, and Lilliandil who was silent most of the time, silently giggling.
They finally finished their dinner. Caspian gave Anne her 5 chocolate bars and Susan let her eat one for tonight. They all got into their respective parts of the castle. Edmund was playing with his chess set alone for a couple of hours, Lucy was reading a book and then went to sleep. Peter and Lilliandil were doing certain things... and Caspian was taking care of Anne by running around the halls to drain her energy from the sugar rush, while Susan just stands there with her hands on her hips and a face that screams I told you so. But after all of that everyone drifted off to a peaceful slumber...
