Chapter Seven

Remus Lupin was what some would consider a smart Werewolf or least he thought he was, so when given the chance to run he took along with Nymphadora's mother and father. Now he was living in one of the lesser known Potter Properties in America, having been there a year now, he couldn't help but wonder about his first Cub Harry and if he was doing alright. He felt like he was letting James and Lilly down again by not being there for Harry.

Except it was Harry who told them to run in the first place, the reasoning was because Harry was being used for slaughter and if Remus didn't leave, he would be forced to make Harry corporate into fighting the Dark Lord. After all Remus was the last link to James and Lilly Potter, the last of a true family Harry had left.

So, Remus got the Tonks family to leave with him, that was a feat in and a half, first Dora wanted to stay and fight since she still believed in Dumbledore and the lies, he was spouting. But when she read the letter from Harry, she knew that they had to leave; convincing her parents was another story but once the read Harry's letter they agreed to leave everything behind and go Muggle.

To Ted that was easy after all he was a Muggleborn but for Andromeda it was a bit harder for her since she was raised a Pureblood, even living with Ted for all those years she still wasn't quite comfortable living as a complete muggle. It took her a while to get to doing things without Magic, but she got the hang of it quickly, and now having magic was a thing of the past.

Every night they would sit and listen to the Wizarding Wireless, their only link to the wizarding world left. Praying that they wouldn't hear the names of the ones they left behind being listed as dead, and every morning they would thank God for living through the night.

They would take weekly trips into town for supplies and Remus would search the faces of the new people in town hoping that one day he would come across Harry or even Hermione. Knew that with one came the other and it was just James and Sirius all over again except Hermione was more like Remus in being the voice of reason.

Little did Remus know that Harry was just a few towns over from where he currently was, if only he went east instead of west, he would have found Harry and Hermione. Of course, Harry and Hermione weren't Harry and Hermione anymore, no they were James Evans and Mia Black. Hermione had taken Sirius's last name since she really didn't know her mother's maiden name, she felt she owed it all to him, because without him letting her take whatever book she wanted from his family library they wouldn't be where they were now.

Life in Boston was getting better and better for Mia, she had her closest friends with her, great job and a sexy Irish man for a boyfriend. In the months since her birthday, things have gotten better for them; James was passing all his classes on his own without any help from Mia, Frank's girlfriend was slowly becoming apart of their little group, Pandora was now assistant teacher at her day care and thinking about going back to school for a teaching degree.

It was around Christmas time that things got a bit dicey when Death Eaters appeared in Wizarding Boston, Mia was there getting their monthly edition of the Quibbler when a Raid started on the Ally. She barely made it out without being seen by the Death Eater that turned out to be Draco Malfoy, once she was back on the muggle side of Boston, she had to keep checking her surroundings in case she was followed. Thankfully she wasn't and was able to get back home without any issue, later that night after work and before the others went to work the next day, she told them of seeing Draco on the Wizarding side. How gaunt and hollowed cheeked he looked, almost as he was skipping meals, how he wasn't alone. How his Aunt Bella was there leading the charge but thankfully the American Auror's arrived in short order and took care of the Raid before it really began.

It seemed that the American Auror's were a lot more equipped and smarter than their English counterparts. Luckily nobody was hurt or yet killed in the Raid, the Death Eater's that were left, were captured, and taken to the Ministry in New York. Names of witnesses were taken, Mia could here some of the patrons of the Ally were wondering how much longer till the Dark Lord makes his break for America and if we were prepared for such an attack like they hadn't seen since Grindelwald.

There were rumors that Harry Potter was dead at the hands of the Dark Lord and that's why things had gotten so bad there, instead of fighting him themselves they put their hopes and dreams on a young boy who had no reason to fight a grown mans battle. At least that's what the American Wizards were saying, they also said that if Harry was alive, they hoped he was living a Dark Lord free life.

Mia thought that was funny, all they had to do was look in Muggle Boston at the Meat Packing plant or the local University and they would find the Savoir of the Wizarding World in Britian. Of course, nobody from their old life would recognize any of them, let alone Harry who now goes by James.

This year Christmas was a wonderful event, they took the time to enjoy the events around the city and Mia even took part in the Christmas Mass with Murphy. To him that was one step closer to getting her to join him every day, Conor was slowly making moves on Pandora who thought he was cute but wasn't sure if he was her destiny or not.

It wouldn't be fair to him, if they dated and her destiny showed up to whisk her away. Frank was thinking about telling his girlfriend his secret, at least about his magic and not really being 17. She didn't need to know that bit, that was a secret that they all promised to keep no matter what, they all knew that they would have to tell their significant other's about their magic if they were serious about them.

Frank was more than serious about his girlfriend; he had even gone out with Conor and Murphy to buy an engagement ring for her. Now he just needed to sit her down and tell her about magic and hope she wouldn't reject him.

Pandora quietly looked into Frank's future and liked what she saw, so she had no problem with him telling her about him having magic. It was going to turn out to be one of the best decisions he ever had since coming to America, that and starting to look for a Flat of his own. After he couldn't bring his girl to his home that he shared with James, it wouldn't be fair to her.

Mia was getting closer and closer to her destiny, just one more year and everything would fall into place and Pandora would no longer be needed, now James, James would follow Mia to the end of the world and back. Those two needed each other in their lives, just like true siblings they may fight but, in the end, they had each other's back.

When Mia left for Ireland James will be right behind her, because without Mia, James would be lost. Mia is what kept James from going back to becoming a sacrificial lamb being led to the slaughter. Which would mean everything they had worked so hard to achieve would be useless, and Dumbledore would have won.

That is something no one wants to happen, that is why James must go with Mia when she leaves in just over a year. By the time she is ready to leave, the vision's Pandora have been getting since arriving in Boston will be set in stone and nothing short of a massacre will stop them, maybe not even then.

Pandora volunteered to take over the monthly trips to the Wizarding side or least help Mia when she did go, after all they were going to need a lot of healing potions. She didn't tell Mia that of course that would just make the older girl worried about what was coming and Pandora couldn't have that just yet. Besides she had a letter to the Quibbler she wanted to post, it was time for the other set of Twin's in their life to make an appearance and what better way to get their attention was to put an ad in the Quibbler.

She knew that they read it more now than before since the Prophet had gone downhill long before Fudge died. The ad was a simple coded one that only the Twins could crack.

Wanted: A set of Magical twins willing to relocate to America and join the lost ones.

Was all it said, she knew that the twins would respond with a similar code just for her or one of the others to crack. She knew it was better to ask forgiveness than permission but for some reason the Twins were needed soon, maybe it was because they could brew whatever Potions that were going to be needed or something else entirely, she wasn't sure yet.

She just knew that they were needed and now was the perfect time to get them to America. Mia knew that Pandora was up to something when she volunteered to take her place into go to Wizarding Boston. Mia really didn't want to give up her monthly trips so she agreed to let Pandora come with her, maybe between the two of them they could get a better perspective on the war back home.

So that Sunday, the day Mia had set aside to go to Wizarding Boston, she and Pandora set out on the bus to Downtown Boston and from there an out of the way Mystical Shop that was also a doorway for the Magical side. Instead of having to tap their wands in a certain way, they just had to say that weeks password that was carefully hidden among the clues given in the pictures on the walls.

Once on the other side Mia and Pandora split up, Mia going to the Animal store like she always did looking for a kitten that reminded her of Crookshanks and Pandora armed with Mia's infamous beaded bag headed toward the Apothecary to start their monthly stock up of healing potions. By the time it was to meet back up in front of the Mystical Shop, Pandora had bought as many potions as she could this time around and set an order for more the next month.

Mia had found a kitten that reminded her of Crookshanks and could almost pass for one of his own, if had ever had the chance to have some. Unfortunately, Crookshanks died just before Mia left for America and she thinks Ron had a hand in it due to the way he was acting after she found out about it. She knew Crookshanks never got along with Ron even after the whole Scabber's issue, Crookshanks just didn't warm up to him the way he did Frank and James.

Crookshanks also love Pandora because the little witch would sneak him bacon in the mornings when it came for breakfast. She asked the lady in the shop to hold on to the little guy and that once she talked to her roommate she would be back for the kitten.

She had a feeling that Pandora wouldn't mind having a kitten around, but she wanted to make sure and to see if Murphy was allergic or not. Those were her only obstacles now that kept her from getting the kitten that day. "You know Mia if you want that kitten its okay with me, I am ninety percent sure that the twins aren't allergic to cats." Pandora said once they met up for the trip back.

Mia used to Pandora saying odd things every now and then just stared at her in shock, but instead of arguing or sounding stupid she turned right around and went to get the kitten in which she named Morgain after finding out it was a girl. She bought all the necessary accessories, like a commode, a carrier, toys and enough food for a few days plus a collar for identification in the muggle world.

Just like kittens in the muggle world the kitten had all her current shots and was ready to go home in a matter of minutes. When the three of them returned home, Murphy was there waiting to take Mia out on a last minute date, a picnic in the park. Upon seeing the kitten, he couldn't help but fall in love with the little girl almost immediately, she just had these big bright blue eyes that reminded him of himself.

He laughed when he heard the name Morgain, he grew up on stories of King Aurther and his half sister Morgan le Fay. He thought it was a cute name for a cute kitten, not realizing that Morgan le Fay and Merlin were actual people who lived and went to Hogwarts. Merlin was in Slytherin and Morgan le Fay was a Ravenclaw, both going on to be historic figures in both the magical and muggle world with the tales of King Aurther and his knights of the Round Table.

Morgain took a liking to the Irish man in the matter of minutes, 'Well that's a good sign.' Mia thought as she watched Morgain and Murphy play on the floor. "Was there something you wanted to ask me Murphy?" Mia asked as she was setting up the commode.

"Aye, I was wondering if you want to join me for a picnic in the park. They are having a showing of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet tonight and I know it's one of your favorites." Murphy asked from the floor. "Of course, I will go with you Murphy, that sounds like a wonderful date." Mia said with a smile on her face.

After making sure Morgain knew where her food dishes where along with her commode, Mia left with Murphy for a wonderful night in the park. Pandora just shook her head and proceeded to take the potion bottles out of the bag and put them in a safe dry place that only she knew of at least for now. When the time came, she would tell Mia where she had hidden them, then she proceeded to decode this month's Quibbler.

Back home in England a Certain editor was getting ready to head to bed when a strange Owl came knocking at his window. He figured it was just another customer with their feeble attempts at decoding the hidden messages he liked to leave in the Quibbler, it was a customer but not one he thought he would ever see the handwriting of again.

He knew his daughter's handwriting anywhere, the letter was short and simple

Dear Quibbler Editor,

I am an English Witch living in America who would like to place an ad in your paper, I have become dissatisfied with the way the Prophet has made Harry Potter out to be a fraud and a liar. Since moving to America, I find myself in need of some good old fashion laughter and to do that I need to place the following ad.

Wanted: A set of Magical twins willing to relocate to America and join the lost ones.

Thank you in advance and here is ten gallons to cover the cost of the ad.

Sincerely,

An English Witch

Xeno was in a happy place now, he knew his beloved daughter was safe and living in America, some near a Magical city so she got her monthly copy of the Quibbler. He knew in his heart that she was still alive but to see her writing was better than any other letter he got as an Editor. Setting aside the letter in safe spot in case Dumbledore came visiting again in hopes of finding out if had heard from his daughter or one of the other three runaways, he went to bed thinking of making a special edition of the Quibbler and sending to the Twins in question.

He always sent them a special paper each month, one that held updates he didn't put in his other paper. He also was the only one to still run their ads for the Joke shop, the other's refused to run the ads due to now being owned and operated by the Ministry. Or should he say the Jokeistry, because ever since Fudge died and Umbridge took over the Ministry has become one big joke. The Aurors were just Death Eater getting paid to hunt down Muggleborns who didn't register, and the Unspeakables had locked themselves in their section of the Ministry.

Neighbors like Aurther Weasley was subjected to daily inspections at home and at work, Amos Diggory and his wife had disappeared late one night just after Fudge was killed and the Ministry was taken over. They don't know if it was the work of Death Eater's or they just decided to leave on their own accord, but their place just sat empty now.
