The next day...

At the police station

Marshall sat in his cell, alone and miserable. He felt as if he was wrongfully arrested for a crime he didn't commit, but his friends were so quick to turn against him. Or at least, they seemed to have.

How could my friends, and even my own brother, think I'm some kind of murderer? I wouldn't harm a soul! Marshall thought to himself, still in disbelief at the situation.

He had managed to get one, single call before being thrown into the cell. He made his one call to Everest. But with the distance, and the harsh conditions of the storm that always seemed to surround that mountain, he didn't know how long he had to wait for the message to arrive.

Meanwhile, only a couple rooms over, Ace was going through all the evidence to find something, anything, that could be used to prove that it wasn't Marshall. But he came up empty handed. All the evidence he searched through only proved it to be Marshall even more.

He was beginning to get frustrated, he knew it couldn't have been the dalmatian, he was too innocent and, admittedly, dumb to pull it off. Plus the motive made no sense to him, why would Marshall have committed the murder in the first place? Ace couldn't come up with a reason, and neither could anyone else. This was the one thing the others needed in order to bring justice down upon him, and it was the one thing Ace needed to not be found, in order to give him more time.

At the resort

Skye and Everest were in the resort, discussing to one another about the jetpacks, with Skye informing Everest of more tricks she could do mid-flight, when the snow pups puptag began glowing. Everest looked down at her puptag and held it, seeing that it was Marshall calling her, or rather, who sent her a voice message. Everest was confused and began playing the message.

Hey Eve, I won't be able to visit you today, or probably for a while. I'm having some... legal trouble... and don't worry! I didn't do anything bad, but everyone seems to think I did, and I don't know what to do. I'll try to get this resolved though, and I'll make sure the first thing I do afterward, is come visit you at the resort. The message then ended, and Everest stood there, shocked from what she heard. Skye, who didn't hear the message, tilted her head and looked at her with a confused expression.

"What's wrong Everest?" Skye asked the snow pup, confused about what was happening.

"I-I need to go." Everest replied before throwing on her jacket and rushing out the door. Everest hopped into her snowcat and began speeding down the mountain, full of questions for the other pups about what happened to Marshall.

Skye stood there, even more confused about what was going on. She tried to follow her but couldn't, so she got her jetpack on and began flying down the mountain, toward the lookout, hoping to meet Everest there.

20 minutes later...

Everest pulled up to the lookout and parked her snowcat outside, immediately hopping out. Soon after, Skye arrived, and the cockapoo quickly landed nearby, before rushing to Everest, who was entering the lookout.

Inside the lookout, the remaining pups sat, watching the news on TV. Chase was the only one who noticed Everest enter the lookout, and almost immediately knew why due to the expression of anger on her face.

"What happened to Marshall!?" Everest asked everyone, yelling. The other pups all jumped a couple feet and turned to face her, startled from the sudden noise. Chase calmly raised his paw and pointed toward the TV.

Recently, It was announced that Marshall, a famous member of the PAW Patrol, being their firefighter pup, medical professional, and Third-in-command, has been arrested under charges of murder.

It was reported that the victim was a stray pup, recently having moved to Adventure Bay from Barkingburg after being fired from her job. He is currently being held at the Adventure Bay Police Department until-

Everest stared at the TV in shock, mouth agape. No, this can't be true, can it? Everest thought to herself. Skye stood behind her, also shocked from the news that someone she had treated as an older brother had been arrested for murder.

After another moment, Everest turned toward the door and rushed outside, peeling out of the parking lot and entering Adventure Bay. She knew exactly where she was headed to find answers.

At the police station

Ace was still searching through all the evidence, but still finding nothing to proof Marshall's Innocence. He was beginning to lose hope when he sat down in a nearby chair to just think.

The police pup sat in silence for a minute before deciding to watch the footage one more time. Maybe he missed something, he didn't know. He watched through the footage again but then he noticed something about the Dalmatian in the tape.

The eyes.

He noticed the eyes of the Dalmatian that committed the murder were green, while Marshall had blue eyes. Ace rewinded the tape and watched again, making sure he wasn't seeing things. But he was right, the Dalmatian in the tape did indeed have green eyes.

Ace almost hopped out of his seat in excitement that he finally proved his uncle innocent. He immediately called the other police pups into the room and showed them the tape.

All the others were also shocked that this one detail was missed, all except for Artemis, who was just confused. Ace left the room and called the other PAW Patrol pups, telling them the news as well as he went to chat with Marshall, when Everest burst through the front door of the station.

"Oh, hey Ever-" Ace tried greeting her but was cut off.

"Ace, what happened?" Everest asked the police pup, clearly pissed off.

"M-Marshall got arrested... for murder... but don't worry! He's innocent!" Ace replied, although he probably should've worded it better.

"If he was innocent, then why is he still in a cell at this station!?" Everest asked, just getting more pissed off as time passed by.

"Because we just found out that he was innocent!" Ace replied, this succeeded in calming Everest down a little, but not by much.

Meanwhile, back at the lookout

Skye and Chase were riding the elevator up to the top floor, having just gotten Ace's call and hearing the news that Marshall was innocent. When they got to the top floor, both of them exited the elevator and went to the balcony to converse.

"So, what exactly happened?" Skye asked the police dog, concerned but relieved after hearing Ace's call.

"Apparently, someone who looked like Marshall committed murder in Adventure Bay, they did it directly in front of a camera. I thought they were just stupid at first, but now I think it was on purpose to frame him." Chase replied, leaning on the railing and staring at the town ahead of him.

"So you arrested him and caused all the media... lies about him being a murderer, Because someone resembling him did it?" Skye asked, also shocked that he'd turn on Marshall, someone he treated as a brother, so quickly.

"It wasn't just a resemblance to him! I watched the tape, it was almost a complete match to Marshall!" Chase replied, rasing his voice, causing Skye to fall back a little. Seeing this, Chase calmed himself down and apologized to her. "Sorry Skye, I-"

"Don't worry about apologizing, it's fine." Skye responded, she then joined him in staring out at Adventure Bay, smiling as she admired the town. She then remembered the reason they came up there. "How do you think he'll react to everything once he returns?" Skye asked, referring to Marshall.

"I-I'm not sure. I'm hoping he'll forgive me, but I'll understand if he doesn't." Chase replied, lowering his head at the thought of his brother hating him.

A couple hours later...

Ace and Everest returned to the lookout, with Marshall riding along. They parked their vehicles and hopped out before Marshall immediately rushed to the doors and entered the lookout, ready to meet his friends again.

When he entered, all his friends looked at him for a moment before everyone except Chase leaped onto him, which did cause him to laugh, something he definitely needed. After he got everyone off of him, he noticed Chase standing at the edge of the elevator, watching everyone. Marshall was confused for a moment before he noticed the stare. He knew what that stare meant, it was Chase's 'we need to talk' stare that he occasionally gave Ryder when something major happened. Marshall gulped before asking the question.

"What's wrong Chase?" Marshall asked, having a slight idea of what it was about.

"Meet me outside." Chase replied sternly as he walked past everyone to the door. Marshall stood there, watching him for a moment, before following behind him. Some of the other pups tried to follow him but he stopped them and told them to let him and Chase have a private conversation, alone.

Once he got outside, he looked around for the shepherd before seeing him in the distance, sitting at the cliff, next to his favorite tree overlooking Adventure Bay. Marshall slowly approached the police dog, and sat down next to him.

"So, what is it that you wanted to talk to me about?" Marshall asked.

"I wanted to apologize." Chase replied, lowering his head and staring down at the water below.

"For what?" Marshall asked him, already knowing what he wanted to apologize for but not wanting to demand one from him if he was wrong.

"For falsely accusing and... arresting you." Chase replied, lowering his head even more and closing his eyes. He expected for Marshall to either not accept the apology or blow up at him, but he was wrong.

"It's alright, brother." Marshall said, accepting his apology and smiling at the shepherd. Chase quickly raised his head and stared at the dalmatian.

"Really?" Chase asked, confused.

"Yes, really. I was shown the tape afterward and I understand why you all immediately thought I... did it, the person on the tape did exactly match my description afterall." Marshall replied.

"You... actually understand? You're not playing some cruel joke?" Chase asked, a bit suspicious.

"No, of course not! I actually mean it." Marshall replied, Chase finally smiled back, and thanked the dalmatian for accepting his apology. Which Marshall was quick to accept.

The two of them then began returning to the lookout together. Now it was time to explain everything to everyone else, which Chase wasn't exactly sure he was ready to do, but he told himself that he had to. Besides, If anything happened, Marshall was right there with him.

Somewhere in Adventure Bay, exact location unknown

An unknown canine wearing a white mask, covered in blue spots, was on the phone with their leader, discussing something important.

"I found the person and... dealt with them accordingly, but they didn't have the briefcase on them." The canine reported to their master.

"That means they must've given it to someone else. Find out where that briefcase went, we can't let it get to Chase!" The person on the phone said.

"Don't worry, it won't. I'll make sure of it." The canine told their leader, the person on the other end then ended the call.

The canine looked down at their phone, looking for another number. When they found it, they called it, hoping for the person to pick up.

"Hello, this is Sylvia." Sylvia said, introducing herself to the person calling her.

"Hello Sylvia, I need you to find out who currently has that briefcase, and quick! before it gets into the paws of the PAW Patrol." The canine told her.

"Alright sir, I'll get back to you soon with the location and it's carrier." Sylvia replied before ending the call.

"You had better." The canine said before shoving the phone into his suit pocket and leaving the room, ready to deal with the next carrier, once they were identified.

That's the end of Chapter 4.

Marshall has been proven innocent and has been reunited with the rest of the team. But what's this? Sylvia is working with The Architect? Or is it really her? Guess we'll find out in a future chapter.

But not next Chapter, next time will be a chapter dedicated to Skyse and Evershall. A break from the ABPD drama and The Architect's schemes, which both Chase and Marshall definitely need.

Anyway, until the next chapter, bye everyone!
