Total Drama Enchanted
Chapter 1 - An Explosive Beginning (Part 1)
The screen shows Pahkitew Island in all its glory, a year after the last season of the Total Drama franchise aired on television. The island has finally been repaired and returned to its original state, and along the way it has also been updated in several aspects. The image moves to a renovated dock. Above it stands the most sadistic host in the history of television, with his casual clothes and charismatic smile, ready to start the new season.
"No one asked for it and no one needed it, but we still bring it to you because we know you love it!" exclaims the host enthusiastically. "Welcome, Total Drama fans! We meet again at the same place where you last watched us, Pahkitew Island!"
The scene quickly shows the malfunctioning of the island in the previous season, with various structures rising and shifting, as well as many sudden weather changes. "If you all remember, the island had had some... technical difficulties, but nothing that money can't fix! After several months of repair, with the help of a new sponsor, the island is finally back, more wild and dangerous than ever!"
"Not only have we repaired the damage, but we also gave it an update," he explains while showing several images of various areas of the island, such as a lake, forests, caves, and mountains. "Now the place is filled with many of my fun tricks and surprises that I have cheerfully put out there," he says while letting out a cruel little laugh. "Why? Because I can and because I want to!"
"Everything here will be different, but the rules remain the same" he continues explaining as he toured the campfire area at one end of the island. "A group of crazy and naïve contestants will compete against each other through many deadly challenges in order to win the highly coveted prize of..." he pulls out a silver briefcase from nowhere and opens it in front of the viewers, revealing the incredible amount of: "ONE MILLION DOLLARS!"
He now tours the area where the last elimination method, the Cannon of Shame, was previously located, but was now empty. "At the end of each challenge, one contestant will be forced to go home with nothing but humiliation, shame, and crushed dreams, until only one competitor is left standing."
The host returns to the dock, and you could see the excitement on his face. "Who will survive? Who will be first in the losers' gallery? Who will take the glory? Keep your eyes glued to the screen to find out!"
"I'm your beloved and famous host, Chris McLean, and this is..."
"Total!"
"Drama!"
"Enchanted!"
The show begins by showing a large cargo plane flying on its way to the island where the contest will take place. Inside, in two long rows of seats, were the contestants. At first glance it seems like a bunch of completely different guys, all around 20 years old and with different personalities and motivations. The only thing in common between all of them is that they have recorded an audition to be in the contest and were accepted.
Each of these people, twenty-two in total, were busy in their own world without getting involved in the affairs of others, perhaps due to nerves, lack of interest or because it was a competition known worldwide for being anything but friendly. Most of them spent their travel time with some activity such as reading a book, checking their social networks, eating snacks, or simply taking a nap, among other things.
Suddenly, the cockpit hatch flies open revealing its pilot, who is also the show's co-host, Chef Hatchet. The ex-military man advances with authority towards the new cast, ready to remind them who is in charge here.
"Attention meatbags, because I'm only going to say it once!" Chef boomed loudly to make sure everyone heard him. "We are just minutes away from the drop zone! Prepare for the most painful, torturous, and humiliating weeks of your lives!"
A girl raises her hand and waves it frantically to get his attention. "Yes, you dwarf with pigtails!" the ex-military man gives her permission to speak.
And Chef was not exaggerating, because she was so short that she could be mistaken for a little girl under 10 years old. Along with her short stature, she has ginger hair tied in two pigtails, and wears a white blouse, a long dark orange skirt, yellow gloves, a pink scarf around her neck, and red ballet shoes.
"I just wanted to say thank you so much for having me!" the girl with pigtails began with a smile, "I've seen this show hundreds of times on TV and I never get bored! When I heard the news that you were opening auditions for the new season I immediately went to retrieve the camcorder from the basement, although when I went in there, I couldn't help but notice how dirty the place was and I decided to clean it until it sparkled, and along the way I got my new pet rat. Then I remembered that I had to record my audition, so I stood for hours in front of the mirror rehearsing what I was going to say, but when I started recording I forgot all my lines. It was so embarrassing, but it doesn't compare to when I-"
The girl is interrupted when Chef caught her lips in a fist, while he just rubbed his temples tiredly. "We're already off to a bad start... I gave you permission to speak, not to chatter, soldier!"
The girl stammered what sounded like an apology and Chef stretched her lips before releasing them as punishment. That received a few chuckles from some of those present.
"Excuse me, I do have a question," a blonde boy in a suit called eloquently.
At first glance, the boy really seemed like a businessman. He is tall, blonde, well-combed and groomed, wearing an elegant suit consisting of a light blue long-sleeved shirt under a blue vest, black tie, dark gray pants and black shoes.
The blonde was spending the flight reading a special book for the occasion, and he marks a page before closing it and focusing his attention on the pilot. "I think you made a mistake. Shouldn't you have said landing zone?" he asked suspiciously.
"I can assure you that it's not a mistake" Chef replied with an evil smile. "The island doesn't have any landing strip. You will have to jump and pray not to die in the fall."
"At least you'll give us parachutes, right?" a cowboy-looking girl asked skeptically.
There was really nothing about her that said otherwise. I mean, even her tone of voice is that of a cowboy. She is wearing a knotted red plaid shirt, blue jeans, a yellow scarf tied around her neck, brown high-heeled boots, and a cowboy hat over her light brown hair.
"From what I saw of this show, I think the answer is obvious," a large boy replied dryly, sleepy after taking a little nap.
More than big, the boy could be defined as giant. He was dark, stocky, and had a small beard. He is wearing a beige T-shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his shoulders, large green overalls with the left shoulder strap down, black rubber gloves, and brown work boots, and on his loose shoulder hung a bag full of tools.
"That has to be illegal," said the blonde boy in the suit, now with contempt. "You can't just make us jump like that."
"I don't know about you, buddy, but I'm excited now. I can't think of a better way to start this contest," said a boy next to him with a big anxious smile upon hearing Chef's announcement.
Judging from the boy's appearance, you can tell that he really likes risks. He is slightly taller than the blonde, with dark blonde hair combed to the side, and is wearing a white tank top, a black studded biker jacket, ripped blue jeans, and white sneakers.
"I can already see that someone here has a death wish," another girl smiled with an amused look, putting aside her nail file.
If you could describe this girl in one word, she would be enchanting. She has soft brown skin and curly dark hair, and wears a long, beautiful shiny purple dress and white heels.
"Hey, babe, don't you want to know my wish too?" a boy speaks to her with a rather mischievous smile, while he gives a break to an ice cream popsicle.
The boy's appearance and attitude made it clear that he was not ashamed of anything. He has light brown skin and silver hair, and is wearing a loose cropped white sleeveless t-shirt, a silver beanie, ripped jeans, a multicolored belt, and white tennis shoes. On his wrists, ankles and neck he was wearing several fluorescent sticks of different colors.
"Oh, I want to know! Say it! Say it! SAY IT!" the girl with pigtails begged anxiously.
"You and me, babe, together alone, snuggling, cuddling..." the boy's voice trailed off as he ran his tongue over her paddle and looked at her with that mischievous smile.
Needless to say, the girl in the dress was disgusted and made a face of contempt and repulsion, while she took out a fan so she wouldn't have to see him.
"Ugh, the last thing I needed here: a pervert. So much for keeping me away from the crazy ones" another girl equally displeased groaned as she checked her electric guitar.
Everything about the girl's appearance seemed to scream that she was a rebel. She has white skin made up, with her hair combed to form a dyed pink mohawk with white tips and piercings in one ear, a silver visor that covered her eyes, a black t-shirt with a drawing of a skull, a leather jacket dark sleeveless dress, pink and black leggings, and purple high-heeled boots.
"It's good to see that someone here isn't afraid of success" another boy laughed with a sly smile as he played with a coin between his fingers before tossing it into the air and catching it skillfully.
With just one look you can already see the confidence radiating around him. He has light skin and messy black hair, and wears a purple shirt with a green tie with blue stripes, beige pants, and brown leather shoes.
"If anyone will be successful here, it will be me!" a girl dressed as a pirate exclaimed proudly, standing up, drawing everyone's attention. "With my skills and great personality, I will conquer this competition and claim that loot as my own!"
Seriously, this woman looked like she belonged on Jack Sparrow's crew. She is tall, red-haired and light-skinned. She wears a white shirt, a large yellow and red jacket, brown pants, a thick belt, long white socks, a brown boot on her right foot and a peg leg on the left, and a pirate hat with a white feather, and at her waist hung a sheath with a sword.
"Ahoy, comrades! I'm pleased to travel with all of you on this great odyssey for that shiny million-dollar loot! As captain of an entire crew, I'm experienced in handling the crowd and plowing through any dangerous territory! I have faced great enemies and I have conquered the skies! I have acquired great treasures and I have explored the unexplored! I'm Captain-!"
"Will you shut up now!? This is the third time you've said that!" the blonde boy in the suit complained, trying to read his book again. "Dang it, I'm close to ripping my ears off from listening to so much crap together."
"If you don't like the way I am, I'll personally invite you to jump off the plane!" the pirate girl responded. "In my crew I give the orders! I hope to see more respect from you if we get to work together!"
"I don't remember seeing your name written anywhere on this plane, and I'm not going to respect a grown woman who plays pirates," the blonde mocked. "Unlike you, I am important. It's better for you to respect me."
"And there we go, the pompous kid who thinks is the king," the cowgirl groaned in displeasure, bringing the pirate back to her seat next to her. "Just leave it, girl. His people are nothing more than a spoiled nuisance who think everything belongs to them. I'm sure he hopes to buy off all the competition so they can give him victory. They never put in an ounce of effort to make a living."
The blonde in the suit listened carefully and slammed his book shut, looking at the cowgirl with narrowed eyes. "It's typical of your kind to think that. While I aspire to success and being on top, you're content to wallow in filth and snuggle with pigs. I admit I'm not excited to participate in some silly contest, but now I'm going to show the whole world that I'm the greatest."
"That's not possible. There are many people bigger than you around the world. Even here in the contest there are people more recognized than you" responded a blonde girl, looking at him with confusion, apparently she had taken the saying literally.
And that's what she has been doing the entire flight, staring at them as if she wanted to study them all and taking everything said literally. She is tall and blonde with some purple highlights, and is wearing a black sleeveless t-shirt under a gray blouse, with an open black jacket, pants, and long black boots.
"Roasted" the coin boy scoffed.
"Low blow" the pervert giggled.
The blonde in the suit glared at them before just shaking his head. Then he continues, "I'll just make one thing clear right away: I'm gonna win this competition. I have more than enough skill to overcome any challenge. You're nothing but rungs on my ladder to victory."
"Then stand up and draw your sword!" the pirate ordered, getting up and drawing hers, "Face me and show me what you're made of!"
"I'm not gonna waste my time on someone like you. I have an agenda, and it doesn't say anything about dealing with a megalomaniacal cosplayer lunatic."
"Look who's talking, declaring himself the champion," the cowgirl mocked. "You're like a dog that barks and never bites. All you do is blather on about how great you are, but I don't see anything great in you."
"I agree with that" the scoundrel boy scoffed, enjoying the conflicto with the coin boy.
The blonde in the suit looks at them with narrowed eyes. "Just wait until we get to the island. When the games start, I'll make you eat your words."
"And you're going to fill that fancy suit with mud?" the coin boy asked, "Aren't you feeling hot from wearing three shirts?"
"If I'm going to be on television, I have to maintain a good appearance. My image here could influence my future."
"I agree with that," the enchanting girl agreed, taking one last look in her handheld mirror. "I've seen enough of this show to say that looks are an important factor. The prettier you are, the more support you get from the fans."
"Aw, I want to be pretty too!" cried the girl with pigtails.
"I can show you how," she smiled in response. "We could even be best friends!"
The pigtailed girl's eyes shone with stars as a huge gasp escaped her mouth. "HOORAY! I HAVE A FRIEND! Wow, that was easier than I thought!"
"If it's no problema at all, I would be happy to be included in the social circle of friendship too, please" asked the blonde girl with purple locks.
"YAY! MORE FRIENDS!"
Away from all that discussion, a green-haired boy looked at them disturbed. "Wow, these creatures are so loud and boisterous."
Like the last girl, he too has been watching them carefully, although this time more with caution than curiosity. He had brown skin, yellow eyes, and green hair shaved on the sides, and was wearing a purple t-shirt, dark green sweatpants, blue sneakers, and a watch on his left wrist.
"Hmph, don't need to say it twice," grunted another boy sitting next to him as he carved a wooden figure with a knife.
If looks could kill, his would have already killed everyone there. He has light skin, red hair and a black patch over his left eye covering a scar. He wears hunter clothing, consisting of a blue scarf tied around his neck, a light blue T-shirt under a leather vest, dark pants with buckles at the ankles, a double metal belt at the waist, and a weapon holder on each leg, and leather boots. On his back he has a mini jet pack and he wears two bullet belts crossed on his chest.
"I'm tempted to cut out everyone's tongues just for some peace and quiet" he continued as he finished his wooden figure of a tiger and put his knife in his boot.
"Oh, that sounds like fun! I'd be happy to join!" another boy said with a creepy smile and unhinged glowing eyes.
This guy's appearance made it seem like he came out of a creepypasta. He was extremely tall, with completely white skin, black painted lips with a line that goes up to his equally painted eyes, and messy black hair that covers his right eye. His clothing consists of a black polo shirt, black and white striped sleeves, shoulder pads full of black feathers, a top hat with a drawing of an eye, short black pants tied with two suspenders of the same color and a belt, his abdomen is bandaged, black gloves, a white scarf around his neck, long socks with black and white stripes matching the sleeves, and black clown shoes.
"Though I don't think you'll get what you want. All they'll do is scream and cry in agony as they bleed to death until they choke and pass out, if they don't perish first, and they'll leave a huge mess that they'll probably force you to clean up later".
"Hmm" the hunter actually considered it. "That's a fair point" in the end he dismissed the idea of silencing them himself.
Meanwhile, far from the conflict, another girl was just looking at the others with some nervousness, as if she wanted to start a conversation, but she doesn't know how. "Come on, this is your chance to meet people. You didn't open your mouth the entire trip. Say something," she muttered to herself.
Compared to the rest of those present, she was quite… average, with nothing to highlight. She has light skin and blonde hair tied in a ponytail, and wears a light blue and white sweatshirt, blue sweatpants, and white sneakers.
"It's common to be nervous in this environment," a boy told her, sitting near her in the lotus position with his hands together and his eyes closed.
That way of sitting plus his clothing already gives a clear idea of the boy's personality. Asian with long black hair tied back with chopsticks, wearing a blue and black kimono that covers most of his arms and legs, as well as a large part of his body, leaving part of his torso, hands and feet free, the latter covered by white bandages except for the fingers.
"Oh, I'm so sorry! I woke you up!" the blonde girl apologized.
"Don't worry, I wasn't asleep. Just meditating," the Asian boy clarified, stretching his legs to sit normally again. "Let me guess: this is your first time away from home?"
"It's so obvious?" the blonde girl lamented. "How did you find out?"
"I suspected it because of your shy behavior. You have no experience with other people your age."
"You found me out easily" she started stroking her ponytail shyly.
"You could say I'm on the same page," he admitted. "I know people my age, but I've never been the most social one in the group. I've always been a loner."
"So, you also came to meet new people?"
"To be honest, that's not what I came for. I'm here for the grand prize. But that doesn't stop me from trying to develop my social skills. What about you? Did you come for the million dollars too?"
"To be honest, I'm not that interested in the million," she admitted. "Yeah, it would be great if I won, but that's not the reason I came. I've watched every season and it seemed like a place to make friends, as well as an opportunity to be away from home for a while."
"Any problems at home?" he asked with signs of concern.
"No, no! It's okay!" she was quick to avoid a misunderstanding. "It's just that my father is very strict and has my whole life planned out in an agenda. I barely have any free time for myself. Like, on Mondays I have piano, ballet, cooking and fencing class. And the rest of the days are equally loaded."
"Mm, I get it. You want to enjoy this brief freedom before you have to get back into the routine."
"Exactly! I barely managed to convince him to let me come here, and I plan to enjoy this to the fullest!" she declared excitedly, before returning to her shy position, "I know it seems kind of cheesy and silly..."
"I don't think it's silly. I completely understand your motivation," he said with a calm smile. "Life will always be more pleasant with friends to accompany you."
"Personally, I don't share that opinion" spoke another girl sitting near them with her feet on the seat and her knees up to her chest, with a large briefcase sheltered between them.
That way of speaking, plus her emotionless gaze, makes her seem more like a robot than a person. She has pale skin and short blonde hair, with freckles across her cheeks and nose. She wears a yellow shirt under a green sweatshirt with diamond patterns, green fingerless gloves, round green glasses, dark green pants, and white shoes.
"I think that these friendships are a waste of time. Time that I can use more fruitfully by developing new formulas and creating more advanced inventions" she declared, without moving from her position for anything. "Before coming, I took the time to watch the entire series to accumulate knowledge, and something I couldn't help but notice is that many past contestants have made decisions based on emotions and morals, and that cost them dearly. Being a logical person, I plan to keep a cool head at all times and not get distracted by nonsense like friendship."
They both listened to her attentively and are certainly not very pleased to hear such apathetic perspective, but they have only just met her to give their own opinion about it.
"Well… each to their own way, right?" the blonde girl shrugs.
"Even if I don't agree one hundred percent, I understand that everyone has their own way of seeing the world," the Asian boy responded calmly.
"But an important part of this contest is alliances!" another girl joined the conversation after taking one last selfie and uploading it.
An obvious geek if having your face glued to your cell phone screen the entire trip was evidence. She has brown skin, curly brown hair, and braces. She wears black glasses, a white t-shirt under a white, orange, and purple plaid short-sleeved shirt, blue jeans, and white sneakers with black details.
"I also watched all the seasons in a single afternoon, including its spin-off, and I can assure you that alliances are VERY important to go far. Without friends, you'll not have votes in your favor and you can be voted out just because nobody knows you" she told the scientist.
"An alliance and a friendship are not the same. I'm willing to cooperate when necessary, but nothing beyond that. My intellect will be enough to overcome this childish game."
"Tch, please don't make me laugh," another girl mocked, with a thick Russian accent. "Do you really think that brain of yours will save you? To survive, you must be big and strong to destroy any obstacle that stands in your way."
Despite being a woman, she is anything but feminine. She is big, robust, muscular, with dark skin and thick, fairly long dark bushy hair that falls to her knees. She is wearing a green tank top, black combat pants and combat boots.
"I suppose you are one of those who are pure muscle without brains" the scientist replied.
"Don't talk any nonsense. Your brain is useful for your scientific things, but in this competition, physical condition is key to winning challenges. Maybe you will survive a couple of days with those scientific things, but when the time comes, I will crush you like a mosquito."
"And that kind of behavior won't help her get far. The arrogant ones are always voted out first" commented the geek girl.
"Chatter all you want, but in the end only one can win, and that will be me. I will crush any mosquito that dares to get in my way with my bare hands" declared the sturdy girl forming a fist. "Just look at you, so soft, so small, so weak..."
"Ooh, strong statements we have here," said the coin boy, watching the little scene with interest.
"You think strength is everything, but that couldn't be further from the truth" the Asian boy spoke.
The Russian girl didn't like hearing that, "What do you mean by that?"
"You believe that being big and strong is the most important thing, but you should not underestimate the little ones. Underestimating your opponent is a mistake that can lead to defeat."
"Oh, I understand what you're saying! The bigger they are, the easier they fall," said the coin boy with a smile.
The Asian boy frowned a little, not happy with that insinuation. "I didn't mean that. I just said that you shouldn't underestimate anyone so as not to be caught off guard."
"Being a smartass, huh? I see you already think you're wiser than the rest of us. Just let me tell you, you won't get far so pretentious."
"Nyet. That's not gonna happen. When I'm done with you, you'll wish you hadn't done that audition," the Russian girl threatened, looking at him with more contempt than usual.
"Holding a grudge is not healthy. It clouds your judgment and makes you lose sight of the goal" the Asian boy gave some words of wisdom.
"Exactly my point!" the other boy smiled victoriously.
The Russian girl snarls at the Asian boy, "I was planning on just crushing you because I didn't think you were worth my time, but now I'm going to enjoy ripping off your limbs."
The coin boy watches the new conflict with amusement, when he notices the geek girl's rude look. "What?" he deigns to ask.
"What were you thinking throwing coal like that?"
"I didn't do anything wrong. I just pointed out the facts" the boy smiled cunningly, happy with his work, and then noticed another look on him, that of the hunter. "And what about you?"
"Do you think I didn't notice what you did?" he murmured to him closely.
"What are you taking about?" he asked, feigning innocence.
"You caused conflict on purpose. That way when the games start, they will target each other and not bother you" the hunter guessed, before giving him an evil smile. "Good job" he congratulated him.
"Thanks" he smiled proudly, "It's like my thing."
"I like you. I wouldn't mind working with you just for this occasion."
"Likewise. I could use someone powerful at my side."
"Better me than that crazy guy over there" the hunter points to another boy sitting nearby.
Said boy, sitting on his haunches, was finishing devouring a raw fish, before grunting in despair. "When are we gonna arrive? I'm starving! If we don't get there soon I'll have to resort to cannibalism."
With his rags and feral attitude, this boy seems to want to imitate Tarzan. The boy has dark skin and long, messy brown hair with some leaves and twigs, with a portion tied with a ribbon, and is wearing an open brown shirt with the sleeves torn off, combat shorts, and was barefoot. His hands and feet were stained with mud and his nails were long and sharp.
"You just swallowed a bag of raw fish" the scientist pointed out, looking at him with disdain.
"AND I'M STILL HUNGRY!" the feral boy cried, before looking at the boy sitting next to him.
This boy had spent the entire trip sleeping, even with the noise of the engine and the others present, the turbulence and the storm, including the leak that fell right on his open mouth, making it evident that he was very sleepy. He has light skin and curly light brown hair, and wears a yellow t-shirt and a blue hooded jacket, green board shorts, and orange flip-flops.
The feral boy sniffs at it for a couple of seconds before taking an arm and slowly begins to gently chew on it. Apparently that served to wake him up for a moment, because the sleepyhead opens his eyes a little and looks at him with his tongue tasting his arm.
The feral boy pauses for a moment before saying: "This is exactly what it looks like."
The other simply looks at him for a moment longer and withdraws his arm back. "Get your own, dude" he told him while sucking a thumb on said arm.
The feral boy just shrugs his shoulders and starts scratching behind his ear with one of his feet. All of this was seen by the two boys who were pointing at them, who remained perplexed and inert about it.
"Those two aren't gonna last" the hunter then said.
"No way" the coin boy agreed.
While all this was happening, one girl stood silently on the sidelines of it all. She kept a friendly face but her eyes had captured every last detail of the others, and then she wrote it all down in a small notebook in a surreptitious manner. She had light skin and purple hair, and was wearing a pink tank top with black trim, a purple jacket with shoulder pads, gray jeans, purple high heels, purple sunglasses on her head, and a handbag of the same color hanging from her right shoulder.
When she finished writing down everything she needed, she saw that Chef Hatchet, who had left for the entire scene, was already back for jump time. Before he could announce it, she raises her hand to speak: "Back to the topic of parachutes, you'll provide us with some, right?"
"Oh, of course we'll give you parachutes. We're not monsters," Chef smiled with false sympathy. "But unfortunately, the budget had to be used on things that the host considers more important, like a new hot tub, a cottage and new outfits, a banquet just for us, and things like that."
"Why I'm not surprised?" the mechanic lamented.
"For your good luck, the budget was enough for this!" he then continued, holding a single parachute.
"That's it?" the cowgirl questioned indignantly.
Chef frowned hatefully at that response. "Typical of young people, they're so ungrateful. If you don't like it, then you're going to have to fend for yourself… starting right now!" the cook grabs a lever next to the hatch and lowers it with an evil smile.
The alarm blares and the room flashes danger red. The place shakes in turbulence and the wind whips them while the contestants watch in horror as the loading hatch slowly opens to reveal the cloudy sky.
"Have fun, meatbags!" Chef says goodbye, throwing the parachute through the cargo hatch in free fall.
The first to react is the businessman, who observes his only salvation being lost in the sky. "Get out of my way!" determined to claim it, he pushes past everyone in his path and jumps outside.
"Oh, no you won't!" the cowgirl shouted, having been of the ones he pushed. She also runs and jumps to claim the parachute for herself.
"Let the games begin, I guess," said the coin boy, following the example of jumping without thinking.
"COWABUNGA!" the reckless boy exclaimed and also jumped without fear at all.
"That's nothing! I'll show you how an expert does-!"
"MOVE!" the military girl pushed the pirate and they both fell too.
The rest tried to hold onto something, but the wind was too strong. One by one, they all fell until only the hunter was left, who clung to the same hatch with his nails while his body dangled.
"THIS IS SO EXCITING!"
The hunter notices that the feral boy with a crazy smile was standing next to the open hatch and the wind and turbulence did not affect him in the slightest. With one hand he still held the sleeping boy, who was barely waking up with all the scandal.
"Are we there yet?" he yawned, not realizing that his life right now was hanging on his partner.
"Hold on, my friend!" the feral boy ordered, placing him on his back. "Hold on like a featherless sparrow to his mother!"
"What thing?" the sleepyhead was still processing the situation he was in.
"ONTO THE ADVENTURE!" he shouted as he took a big leap outside.
The hunter was still holding on tightly, and he saw Chef looking at him with an evil smile. He gives her a murderous look and makes death signs. In response, Chef pulls a bowling ball out of nowhere and rolls it across the ground, until it directly hits the hunter's face, causing him to let go and fall with the others.
"There are days when I hate my job" Chef spoke to himself as he closed the hatch, "But then I can take it out on these rookies mercilessly, and it'll go away!"
Screams of horror could be heard in the sky, all while the contestants plummeted with nothing to save them. The first to jump, which was the businessman, pointed his body in the direction of the parachute. Thanks to that, he managed to reach the backpack and was about to put it on, when suddenly another body collides with him, deflecting him away from the backpack.
To say the businessman was upset was an understatement to say, "Hey! What's wrong with you?!" he yelled at the culprit.
Said culprit, who was the cowgirl, did not feel sorry for what she did, "You push me to the ground, and I push you harder!" she replied as she caught the parachute.
"Don't even think about it!" he shouted, using the same trick to return to the backpack. Three feet away, the businessman does a flip in the air and kicks the cowgirl in the face, knocking her away from her and retrieving the parachute, all while he says: "I caught it first! Get lost!"
The cowgirl recovers from the kick and glares at the businessman. "If a fight is what you want, then a fight you'll have!" she also uses the trick to propel herself towards the parachute and delivers a strong punch to the businessman in the face, although this fails to push him away. "Like I said: you push me and I push you harder!"
The fancy guy didn't like that a ranch girl was challenging him and pulled the parachute, only for her to pull it back. The cowgirl was frustrated by how persistent he was and tried to grab the parachute from him, but he wouldn't budge. The two continued to struggle and yell hatefully, until the backpack could no longer hold up and broke in half, breaking the parachute in the process.
Seeing how their chance to survive the fall had just been destroyed, they both did the most normal thing in the world: blaming the other for their own misfortune.
"You freaking son of a…!"
"You miserable piece of…!"
And the two start fighting like animals while continuing to plummet.
The others continued screaming and crying in horror, trying to think of some way to save themselves. Some, however, already had a solution. The hunter is one of them, thanks to the fact that he had brought a jetpack with him. When turned on, the power is more than enough to stop him from falling, and he can now fly freely through the air. Now that he's safe, he decides to go to the trouble of saving the one person he didn't completely dislike.
The coin boy who enjoyed causing conflict certainly did not enjoy the situation he was in right now. Without the parachute within reach, there was nothing he could do, and desperation made it harder to think of anything. To his good luck, his salvation came when the hunter with his jetpack caught him by his arms.
"I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting this show of kindness from you!" he admitted after sighing in relief.
"Don't get used to it! I only rescued you because you can be useful to me!" the hunter responded bluntly.
"Fine with me!" the boy had no problems with that.
However, when he was about to relax, another guy appears and hugs him around the waist. "Oh yes! Best place in the house!" said guy turns out to be the perverted boy, who smiles shamelessly when he notices where he was clinging and the look of confusion and discomfort on the coin boy's face.
In a second, bewilderment turns to contempt and he tries to get rid of the guy, not caring if he has to drop him again. "Let go of me, you idiot!" he shouted, shaking his body to force him to let go because his hands weren't available.
"Make me!" the pervert accepted the challenge with amusement, holding on tighter.
This dispute did not go unnoticed, since all that movement caused the hunter's flight to become turbulent. "Hey, morons, stop moving!" he growled, but was ignored. "I swear, if we crash-!" the jerks became more agitated. "Last warning!" which did nothing to stop them, which led him to make a decision.
"You know what? The hell with you" and he drops them. Once he regains control, he sighs for peace of mind. "Much better" he said before continuing with his flight, not bothering to save anyone else.
"What a way to treat your comrades!"
The hunter hears this and sees the pirate, who apparently also had a jetpack with her. She's not happy to see him drop potential allies and she was willing to let him know.
"As the captain of an entire crew, it is my duty to maintain order and take the reins! Each one of them is my responsibility! We always watch each other's backs and treat us with due respect!" she gave her speech, before looking at him with disdain. "But you, miserable hunter, do not have a shred of honor! Willing to let a comrade die is simply degrading! That lack of commitment to a team will cost you dearly! I will not allow such acts to be committed while I am here to stop-!"
"You talk too much" he growled in response, pulling out a gun and shooting not at the pirate, but at the jetpack. The pirate quickly notices and makes evasive maneuvers, gracefully dodging the gunshots, before flying straight towards him and pulling out her sword with the same intention of sabotaging his jetpack. However, the hunter was also an expert in evasive maneuvers.
A frantic battle raged as two flew through the sky, doing their best to take down the other with the sounds of thrusts and gunshots echoing through the air.
Other contestants already had a solution prepared, like the scientist, who takes a pack of chewing gum out of her pocket. She chews on one for a few seconds before removing it and stretching it, so that it incredibly inflates like a balloon twice her size, and serves to slow her fall.
"Science saves lives once again!" she declared proudly.
Another with her solution was the guitarist girl, who takes off her jacket and part of her clothes, revealing a wingsuit underneath. She extends her arms and legs to remove the wings and begins to glide through the air. "I have to congratulate my designer on this!"
"Hey, cool suit! Great minds think alike!" the reckless boy walked past her with his own wingsuit in use. "Where did you get yours!?"
"They did it for a performance, one where I jumped onto the stage from a helicopter!" she replied, remembering that day fondly. "How about you!?"
"It was used for one of my first stunts! I've never left home without it since! You never know when you'll need it!"
The guitarist laughs thinking about that. "You're crazy!" she called him but in a funny way.
"You don't stay behind!" he replied with equal amusement.
"AHHHHHHHHH!" they both hear a scream nearby, only to see the geek girl screaming and falling, while recording another video with her cell phone: "What's up, my followers?! My first experience in Total Drama and we start the way everyone expected! The hosts didn't wait and are already trying to kill us! Excited for this new experience!" she cried with a thumbs up, trying to stay positive despite the terrible situation she was in. "Maybe I'll survive, it wouldn't be good publicity for the show if someone dies on the first day! But if I don't make it, tell my mom… TO DELETE MY INTERNET BROWSER HISTORY! Don't forget to subscribe to stay tuned for news!" she finished the video and uploaded it, then put away her cell pone, clears her throat and continue with her screams.
Luckily for her, she is saved by the guitarist, who catches her and puts her on her back to keep her safe and plan smoothly. Seeing that she is no longer in danger, she takes out her cell phone again and records another video: "Great news, my followers! I'm safe now! All thanks to one of the most popular and beloved youth singers in the decade!" she points the camera to show her savior and the other boy in the background as well.
The guitarist smiles and waves at the camera: "What's up, music fans?!"
"Here ready to live to the fullest!" the daredevil exclaimed happily, sneaking into the video, before being suddenly hit by another boy, the sleepyhead, who lands right over him. The daredevil manages to regain his balance and places the sleepyhead on top of him in the same way the girls did. "Wow, buddy! Brutal entry! Where did you come from!?"
The boy seemed to be unaware of his surroundings, looking at everything confused. "I have no idea! One second that cannibal was holding me, and the next I'm here!"
The others just laugh about it, amused by the boy's confusion.
But someone who was not amused was the dwarf girl, who could only scream and cry in fear as she waited to be buried several meters underground, or turn to mush when she hit the ground, or catch fire like a comet, or whatever usually happens to people in this situation.
"GOTCHA!" her salvation exclaimed as she caught and hugged her to keep her safe. The dwarf sees that it was the enchanting girl, who somehow had a parachute too. "You're safe now, dear!"
The short girl's eyes fill with tears and cries with happiness as she wraps her arms and legs around the other girl's body in a tight hug as if her life depended on it... because it does, all while repeating: " THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!"
"You're welcome! That's what friends are for!" she moaned, as the hug he was giving her was too tight, "But I won't be able to save us if you don't let me breathe!"
Meanwhile, the girl with the notebook was one of the few who remained calm and she did not let herself be overcome by fear. She holds her bag in front of her and presses the buckle, opening it to let out two metal bars that extend and rise, and then release a huge cloth sail. The handbag had been transformed into a hang glider!
At the back of it there was a small rocket that was used to move around and travel through the air freely. Something very useful when its owner was willing to help. "Don't worry people, I'm coming!" she maneuvers the hang glider like a professional and manages to catch two contestants, the mechanic and the shy girl, who cling to both sides of the cloth.
The mechanic breathes a sigh of relief, "Thanks for the save!"
"Thank you! We owe you one!" said the shy girl as she cried with relief.
"No need! Just doing my duty!" she maneuvers the hang glider to fly towards the island that was in sight. "All in one day of work!"
"Wait! What about the others!?" the shy girl then asked, remembering the boy she was chatting with before the fall.
The hang glider's owner made an embarrassed face in response, "I offered my help to others, but they didnt hear and chased me away, even telling me to go to hell! Two even pointed their guns at me!" she admitted, not feeling proud that she had left them when she could have helped them. "The only one who didn't push me away was the boy with the kimono! He told me that he could handle himself and I should focus on rescuing others in need!"
"Do you think they'll be okay?!" the blonde asked, worried about the others.
"I wouldn't worry! It looks like they're all going to fall into the water near the island!" the mechanic said reassuringly, pointing to the ocean below them.
"He's right!" the purple haired girl agreed. "Only two are falling en route to the island on purpose! And unless there are some dangerous animals in the water, they should all be fine!"
The mechanic grimaces in confusión, "Why do I have the feeling you just jinxed it!?"
Back with the cowgirl and the businessman, they continued fighting like children. "This is your fault!", "You were the one who wouldn't let go!", "I had seen it first!" "No one knocks me down and gets away with it!", "You're a mad cow!", "And you're a mangy cat!" and more shouts and insults like that were thrown at each other, having completely forgotten that they were now in free fall...
¡SPLASH!
The dip finally arrived and the two contestants were now floating in the middle of the water, approximately a kilometer away from the island. However, that was not in the interest of the two, since they were only focused on continuing their fight.
"Look what you did! Now you're going to pay for my dry cleaning!" the businessman claimed.
"And you will pay for my new hat!"
"I'm not spending my money on that crappy hay!"
"And I'm not going to comply with the whims of a fragile piggy bank like you!"
The fight continued, until they noticed the dorsal fin of a shark swimming around them. That was enough to stop the fight as the two felt chills upon learning that they were at the mercy of the sea animal. Being a few meters away, the shark comes to the surface and opens its mouth full of sharp teeth ready to devour two prey in a single bite.
The two contestants did nothing but hug each other while screaming in horror waiting for their end. But today everyone is in luck, because their savior literally falls from the sky in the form of a feral boy who lands right on top of the shark, sinking them both.
When they resurface, the feral boy is shown to be riding the shark. "Your teeth will make a pretty necklace!" he was grinning wildly as he held on with tooth and nail. The shark jumped and thrashed to get him off of it, but the feral boy wouldn't give in that easily. Finally he takes the reins, or rather the fin, and guides the shark to carry him in the direction of the island.
Waiting on a dock back on Pahkitew Island, Chris McLean watched the spectacle through binoculars, pleased to see such good results. "We're not even halfway through the first chapter and there's already conflict on the horizon. All I can say is... we're off to a great start!"
"Indeed!"
"AHHHH!" the host jumped with chills when a dark and resonant, one could say demonic voice sounded right next to him. He turns to see the strange creepy clown standing right behind him with his huge unwavering smile.
"Where did you come from!?" he asked between shivers.
"From the womb of my mother, who gave me birth with great affection," the creepy man responded, remembering her fondly. "But if you're asking how I got here first, well, I took a shortcut."
"Eh, very good then- AHH!" the host did not pay much attention to the clown and turned around, only to be surprised again, although not intentionally, by the curious girl and the green-haired boy looking directly at his face. He certainly wasn't enjoying being taken by surprise like that, "Let's see, what about you?"
"Mother decided to honor me and my brothers and sisters by incubating us until we hatched, and once we spread our wings we began to fulfill our glorious purpose, which is to serve her and make her wishes come true" the green-haired boy eloquently explained.
"My parental units created me from scratch with the best quality parts, carefully designing every last detail in order to create the perfect child. I am the result of their great work and effort" the curious girl explained in a technical way.
Chris just gives them a dismayed look in response.
"Ahem, young ones" the creepy man caught their attention, "He just wants to know how you got here before everyone else, not your origin stories. Save it for when it's more relevant later."
"Oh... We just flew here" they responded in unison, although the girl with excitement and the boy with indifference.
In the end, the host just shakes his head and leaves them behind. "Weirdos," he spat, "That's what I get for trusting that new sponsor. This better not become a problem."
While Chris went to greet the others, the three strange contestants are left alone to chat. "Judging from those facial expressions, I can safely say that he is feeling a lot of negative emotions right now. Was it our fault? Did we do something wrong?" the girl asked nervously.
"Don't blame yourself, dear. That egomaniacal host should know what he was getting into when we were selected" the creepy man replied.
"Let that creature deal with his issues. I have my own" said the green-haired boy. "Once I fulfill my duty, I will not have to spend another second in this horrible place."
"Ooh, what kind of issues, if I may ask? Do you need help with that?" the creepy man offered, wrapping his arm around the boy's shoulders, "We can even make a deal! What do you say? Give me your help and I'll help you!"
"If you need help, I will be pleased to provide you with my services" the curious girl also offered.
"It's not in your best interest to help me" the boy replied, slipping his arm around his shoulders. "My duty is much more important than this... program thing they're running. You don't have the slightest idea what's coming."
The creepy man laughs in response. "And you much less so, hehehe…" his laugh is much more sinister now.
"It's okay if you want to do it alone, but I have researched that everything in life can be easier if you accept the hand of those around you. If you aren't able to do it alone, you should just ask for help" the girl responded with a friendly smile.
However, the boy took it the wrong way. "Are you foolish creatures saying that I need help? I'm Mother's favorite! I earned that title through my merits and achievements!"
"Mother's favorite, huh?" the creepy man looked at him funny. "I wish I had that, but I'm not going to waste a wish on something so childish."
"Saddly, I can't relate to being the favorite," the girl lamented. "I would love for them to decide to create others so I can call them siblings."
"Alright, enough talk!" the host exclaimed to silence them and reclaim the screen for himself. "It's finally time to receive the other new victims! And the next one to arrive is..."
A whistling sound could be heard approaching, until the earth exploded when something resembling a comet fell a few meters away. Chris had prepared himself and took out an umbrella to cover himself from the sand storm that caused the explosion. A crater formed and in the center stood the sturdy girl, standing on her haunches with one fist on the ground. Although she didn't show it directly, she grimaced as she resisted the pain of her numb body. That fall was not her best idea, but it was worth it to be the first to arrive...
"This is how you make an entrance" she growled as her body slowly recovered and she stood up to leave the crater. But when she does so she gets a bitter surprise: "HUH!? And where did those weaklings come from!?"
"I already asked them and didn't tell me anything useful. I wouldn't bother" the host responded with a shrug, before continuing with the presentation: "And who's next to arrive? The answer is over there!"
He points to another who was also heading towards them in free fall, but in a more controlled manner. That person was the boy in the kimono, who moved gracefully through the air until he was pointing towards the nearest tall trees. A few meters away he extends his hand and catches the tip to begin to slow his descent.
He glided a few laps around the tree before jumping towards a huge branch and using it to slide and jump towards another tree that happened to have some vines on it. He catches one and swings to continue his descent until the vine reaches its limit, so he uses it to propel himself up so he can land cleanly on his feet near the group.
Relieved, the Asian boy takes a deep breath and relaxes: "Perfect landing."
"Tch, smug" the Russian girl was not impressed, although she was still a little down for not being the first to arrive, "At least I still got here before you."
"If it helps you sleep at night" the Asian boy commented calmly, but the mocking tone was evident.
"I must admit, those two were great entrances" commented the host. "Unfortunately, the rest are practically safe from serious injury, so we'll just wait for them to arrive."
"Wouldn't that be a positive thing?" asked the curious girl.
"Speak for yourself" the creepy clown answered pitifully.
The other contestants were finally reaching the false safety of the island. The first were those who rode hang gliding. When they touched dry land, the purple-haired girl presses the same buckle and the hang glider transforms back into a handbag.
Behind them, the scientist also arrives with her air balloon made of chewing gum. Now that she no longer needs it, she takes out a needle to pop it and then throw it away.
The singer and the daredevil also arrive with their respective loads safe and sound. "Celebration snack!" exclaimed the sleepyhead, now fully awake, taking out a bag of chips. The others were going to grab some, but he moves the bag out of their reach. "What do you think? Get yours!"
The next to land are the already self-proclaimed 'best friends' on the parachute. "You manage to catch the parachute? Good one, sister!" the singer congratulated her.
"What can I say? I'm that great!" the enchantress accepted the compliment. "Now that we're finally here, CAN YOU LET ME GO, PLEASE!?" she growled, trying to shake off the dwarf who kept her eyes closed the entire descent and never realized that they had already landed. She remained clinging to her friend tightly, much to the latter's chagrin.
"AHH! SWIM FOR YOUR LIFE!" everyone heard those screams and saw the coin boy and the pervert boy swimming at full speed towards the shore, because they were being chased by a: "SHARK!"
The funny thing was that the shark is the one that the feral boy had tamed and was riding towards the shore. Apparently, he finds the idea of chasing two prey along the way amusing, since he was laughing like a madman during the entire chase.
The two boys manage to reach dry land but they did not stop until they took refuge behind the sturdy girl. The shark arrives shortly after and gently sets its rider ashore, before giving him a high-five. "Thanks for the ride, my friend! Cheers to the wife!" the feral boy said goodbye with a smile that he shared with the shark.
The others present who saw them just stood there perplexed about it as the shark returned to the water.
"You made friends with a shark? Dude... You have to teach me how to do that! Show me your tricks!" the reckless boy pleaded.
"I have tons of stories from my life in the jungle! Like my love story with a pineapple!"
"Yeah, I think we've heard enough" the mechanic immediately silences them. "Now the missing ones arrive" he points to the shore where the cowgirl and the businessman arrived, both exhausted after a one-kilometer swimming race.
"I beat you... pompous boy" the cowgirl said as she caught her breath, too tired to even get up.
"It wasn't... a race" the businessman replied in the same manner. "But if it was..., I'll just say... you cheated."
"Oh yeah?... How?"
"You started closer... Not fair... Rematch!"
"With… pleasure!"
Meanwhile, the sturdy girl has had enough of having the two scrawny men using her as protection without her permission. "Get off me, mosquitoes!" she takes them by the ankles and holds them both with one hand each effortlessly. "I'm not going to protect two insignificant scums!"
"Not even for a… special treatment?" the pervert suggested, acting flirtatious.
"Fair enough, name your price. How much do you want to be my bodyguard?" the coin boy asked, pulling out a bill and rubbing it in her face. "Come on, I know you want it."
The sturdy girl drops them headfirst in front of her and steps over, using them as a mat. "When are we going to start this competition, host? I'm tired of waiting!"
"Let me check" said host does a quick count of everyone present. "Almost all of us are there. Only two more to go and we can start". He then notices something in the sky swooping towards them. "And speaking of, here they come!" he takes off running towards safety.
"Take cover!" the purple haired girl shouted. Everyone reacts and he starts running like crazy looking for a safe place. A few seconds later, something resembling a screaming comet crashes into the sand, forming another crater.
Everyone goes to check and finds the last two missing contestants, the pirate and the hunter, moaning in pain and covered in bruises and possible broken bones from the abrupt landing while their jetpacks were smoking and sparking from the damage they received. Despite that, the two tried to kick the other with a lot of effort and pain in the process.
"Savage..." the pirate called him between grunts of pain.
"Crazy..." the hunter answered in the same way.
"Best entry yet!" the host exclaimed, not caring about the safety of his future victims in the slightest, although those who watched the show should already know that this is nothing new. "Now that we are all here, we can finally begin!"
After recovering from the fall and taking a breathe, the twenty-two contestants were in the bonfire area at the west of the island. There were several cut logs and half-buried barrels that could be used as seats, but not enough for everyone, so some had to stand during the presentation.
"Welcome everyone to Pahkitew Island! This will be your home for the next few weeks of this season" Chris announced, proceeding to take out a sheet of paper with names written on it. "Before we start, let's do a quick call. When I call your names, wave to the camera."
"Ginger" the dwarf greeted, waving her hand energetically.
"Otis" the mechanic gave a small gesture as a quick greeting.
"Clover" the purple-haired girl waves with two fingers on her forehead.
"Nigel" the coin boy snaps both hands and smiles at the camera.
"Agatha" the Russian girl crosses her arms and snorts with a frown.
"Julien" the pervert was sucking on a lollipop and slowly moved it away from his tongue leaving a trail of saliva.
"Karen" the enchanting girl blows a kiss to the camera.
"Raymond" the daredevil raises his hands in a rock & roll gesture with a fierce smile.
"Maggie" the cowgirl adjusts her hat with determination.
"Frederick" but then the businessman complained: "I'm Felix, you moron."
"According to your audition, your name is Frederick, although you have also being called Fred, Freddy or Fredward."
"And I plan to change it later. Address me as Felix or I won't answer, and that doesn't suit you."
"Okay, okay, sheesh... Felix" the businessman crosses his arms and snorts disdainfully.
"Rita" the scientist adjusts her glasses without saying anything.
"Hunter" the hunter growls like a predator watching his prey.
"Erika" the curious girl raises her hand and makes a circle as an attempt at a greeting.
"Yoshi" the Asian boy bows his head in reverence.
"Bianca" the geek girl makes an OK gesture with her hand and winks at the camera.
"Isaac" the creepy clown just keeps smiling, but for a moment his eyes blackened and the image distorted into static.
"Sonya" the singer makes the rock & roll gesture with one hand and sticks her tongue.
"Diego" the feral boy was eating another raw fish and bites off its head with his sharp teeth.
"Chantal" the pirate makes some strange poses to exalt herself while exclaiming: "Captain of the Ravenous Condor! Champion of-!"
"Yeah, yeah, no one cares… Tony" the green-haired boy just raises an eyebrow without saying anything about it.
"Pearl" the shy girl quickly greets the camera with a small smile.
"And finally, Lucas" the lazy boy continued eating his snacks without taking it seriously.
"That's everyone! Now we can start with the fun" Chris finished the counting and is excited to talk about the good stuff. "As you can see, the island has changed a lot since last year. Now it's full of dangers that I happily decided to add everywhere. You'll have to watch where you go, because you never know when you will take a wrong step."
Many of the contestants show concern upon hearing that, but the rest just scoffed or rolled their eyes.
"However, the producers decided to show you some mercy and managed to recreate some classics of the old Camp Wawanakwa, such as new cabins, communal bathrooms, and a dining hall. All of these are free of these dangers, unless I'm with mood for some pranks."
"Which is all the time, right?" Karen asked emotionlessly.
"Exactly! I would recommend sleeping with one eye open. Or in your case, Hunter, not sleeping at all" the host mocked, before jumping when a knife shoots in his direction, grazing his head, until it sticks against a nearby tree. The hunter didn't like that they made fun of his only good eye and gave him a murderous look.
But Chris wasn't going to let it go either. "It seems you didn't read the contract, which dictates-"
"The use of weapons and electronic objects from outside the island without permission is prohibited and will be confiscated until further notice" concluded Felix, taking out the special book for the occasion. "And yes, I took the trouble to read the whole rulebook of this contest. I know every single rule by heart."
"That's gonna get very annoying, I'm telling it" Otis commented.
"First of all, I had no idea there was a rulebook," the host admitted before continuing. "But he's right. You can't use all that stuff you brought. You have to hand it over."
Hunter growled, not wanting to give up his prized possessions. "You heard it, beast. Hand over your weapons" the pirate mocked, sitting at a distance.
"You too, Chantal" Chris added, "And all those who brought electronic devices or weapons too, come and leave them over here."
"But this sword is my most prized possession! I earned it when I defeated-!"
"And I don't care. If you don't turn it in, you're automatically disqualified from the contest."
Chantal grumbled before throwing her sword to the ground in front of Chris. "And also the ones you have hidden". She grumbled again as she began to pull out other swords and various weapons from anywhere, like one that she used to hold her hair, others that she kept inside her clothes, even a whole pile of knives that fell from her boot.
"How can you even walk?" the host deigned to ask.
Yoshi, who had brought a pair of katanas, was more understanding and left them too without much fuss. Seeing them follow the rules, Agatha takes out some knuckles and leaves them with the pile. Nigel pulls out his knife to which he plants a quick kiss before putting it down.
However, there were some objects that were allowed in the end, such as Otis' tools, Rita's briefcase full of chemicals, Raymond's skateboard, Sonya's guitar, and Maggie's rope. Chris allowed them to keep it with the warning that it would be confiscated if they were used to attack someone.
"Well? Are you going to give up that hang glider of yours too or not?"
"Give me a second!" Clover answered Felix's question as she checked her bag one last time before leaving it. "I was just making sure everything was in good condition. I have very important things for me in there."
"Let's not forget the electronics" Chris continued. "Bianca, hand over your phone."
"But I need to stay connected to my social networks!" she expressed, horrified at the thought of leaving the screen for just a moment. "How can I live without having a screen glued to my face at all times?"
"You'll have to live with, or without it."
"What if I receive a notification?"
"You ignore it."
"Or a text message?"
"Same answer."
"If someone calls me?"
"What a pity."
"But what if-?"
"Hand over your phone now!"
It looked like tears were threatening to fall as Bianca kissed her phone before standing up and walking towards the host. In front of him, she extends her arm with the phone ready to let it go. Chris takes it, but upon pulling it he discovered that its owner was still holding on to the device. "Let it go! These are the rules!"
"I CAN'T DO IT!" she cried trying to get him back. "MY SOCIAL LIFE IS IN THERE! I WON'T BE ABLE TO LIVE WITH MYSELF KNOWING THAT I RECEIVED A NOTIFICATION AND I DIDN'T MARK IT AS READ!"
While Bianca and Chris struggle over the phone for a while, Chantal ends up getting rid of all of her weapons in a pile that was just as big as her. "Take care, my precious ones. Mama will come back for you" she says goodbye and returns to the group, in the process breaking up the fight by lifting Bianca over her shoulder and taking her away, forcing her to let go of the phone.
"Don't worry, your phone will be fine... if it wasn't in my hands" Chris said, dropping said device into the water.
Once standing, the geek girl had to witness this and falls to the ground on her knees and arms like an anime character to mourn her loss. "I feel like a part of my soul has been torn from my being" she said very melodramatic.
"There go my hopes that you were of the more normal ones" the host lamented, before directing his attention to another very stubborn person, "There's only you left, Hunter. Hand over your weapons."
"Ugh, fine" he grunted in resignation, proceeding to throw away all of his weapons in sight. Then he started throwing away the ones he had hidden in the same ridiculous way as the pirate. "This will take a while."
Five Minutes Later…
"I think that's it" Hunter said standing next to a pile of weapons that was comically three times taller than him. How he kept all those weapons is and always will be a complete mystery.
"You think?" Otis scoffed in disbelief.
"Mm, not bad" Chantal couldn't help but admire that.
"That's it, huh?" Chris didn't believe it and pulled a metal detector out of nowhere too, scanning him to be sure. He slowly passed it over each part of his body and nothing suspicious was detected, until he reached the patch and detected something metallic. Chris gives him a suspicious look in response.
Hunter sighed as he stuck a couple of fingers into the patch and pulled out a tranquilizer dart with a skull danger sign. "Extremely powerful, it can put any animal to sleep regardless of its size" he explained before handing it over.
Chris threw the dart with the mountain of confiscated things, so he could finally continue with the presentation. "Now that we're all clean-"
"Speak for yourself!" Diego exclaimed, proud of his dirtiness which he calls 'camouflage'.
"-we can continue. As you can imagine, venturing onto the island can be a guaranteed death sentence, but it can be worth it because somewhere there is hidden a... immunity idol!" he takes out a replica of it, which is just a miniature figure of Chris' head carved in wood. "Whoever finds it can use it in any elimination ceremony to nullify all votes against them and ensure their survival for one night."
That did catch everyone's attention, being aware of how truly useful that piece of wood can be. The most strategists were already making plans to take advantage of it, and the rest just wish to find it.
"The only thing here that doesn't change, and never will, is the confessional. I remind you that there you are free to express opinions, discuss strategies, or simply vent. I will give you a few minutes to go and give some preliminary thoughts of the season."
Confessional
Pearl - "Well, so far everything is going well. Not counting the dangers, the possibility of dying, and some very... extravagant contestants, everything is going great. I just hope I can get along with everyone."
Nigel - "What do I think of my new companions? It seems that only half can be considered 'normal'. The rest are just pure lunatics who look like they came out of an asylum."
Ginger - "Hi everyone! I'm Ginger! And I love making new friends!"
Sonya - "A lot of my new companions are a little weird, but they won't stop this pace!"
Felix - "I really don't understand how they accept those savages in this contest. It seems like I'm in a crazy farm. Anyway, none of those losers are gonna last. With my skill, knowledge and cunning, I will overcome any obstacle and claim the victory."
Maggie - "I see I have a lot of tough competition. Seriously, some even act like raging bulls. But that won't stop me from taking home that award."
Clover - "I'd be lying if I said I wasn't interested in competing, but I can't let it distract me. The mission takes priority."
Julien - "Well, it seems I have a lot of people to have a fun time with."
Chantal - "That host better not lose my precious weapons! I earned them by defeating my enemies and claiming them as trophies!"
Erika - "Greetings, I am Erika. Definitely a real girl."
Diego - "I have already smelled everyone here. Their aromas give them away. Almost all of them have evil in their hearts. But there was something strange, one had an insect stench, another only reeked of oil and metal, and one had no soul at all."
Bianca - "Chris thinks I'm nobody anymore because he threw away my phone, but what he doesn't know is that now that I make money from my online content, I always buy a new phone every year. Now I have five phones, not counting the confiscated one" she pulls out said phones, all with different colored cases. "Fear not, my followers! I'll keep you updated!"
After most of them went through the confessional, Chris decided to take a short tour of the new establishments, such as the aforementioned new cabins where they will sleep. Some wondered if they would be more comfortable than those commonly seen in previous seasons, but most did not raise fake hopes.
A little more walking until they reached the place. As many expected, the cabins are practically the same as always. Made of old wood and supported by concrete blocks. Old, dilapidated, filthy, moldy, and other words like that to describe them.
"Let me guess: Like the confessional, you also rescued these from the bottom of the sea?" Karen guessed.
"Nah, those were already in pieces by the time they sank. These cabins are brand new!"
"And how is it possible that these look even uglier than before?" Sonya dared to ask.
"Because we built them with the same pieces that sank! Same wood taken from the sea, same broken bunk beds with loose springs-" suddenly a pair of raccoons scurry through a window "- and same wild vermin."
"How exciting..." Otis said dryly as he shook his head.
"You don't have to tell me twice!" Diego smiled without noticing the other's discontent.
"Go check them out! After all, that's where you will be sleeping for the entire contest."
The contestants did just that. Some just take a quick look at them without being impressed, as the producers managed to recreate the interior as well despite the horrible materials to work with.
"Ugly, stinky, and falling apart... Just as I expected" was Karen's opinion. "They're still mixed, right?" she asked the host, receiving confirmation.
Confessional
Felix - "Take a deep breath, Felix. Remember, you chose this. You must prove that you can do it."
Maggie - "I don't see what they're complaining about so much. Back on the farm there were times when we had to sleep in the barn with the cattle. I slept on hay. That's like sleeping on a herd of porcupines. For me, those beds are a gift."
"Make way, rats" Hunter was the first to enter and was going to claim his own bed, but when he sat down it folded and broke into pieces, sticking with splinters and springs, while a swarm of termites came out of there. "Gah, stupid bunk beds!"
Some laugh at his misfortune, but stop when a knife shoots past them until it sticks in the door. "I thought you had left all your weapons behind" Nigel told him.
"That's what they think" Hunter replied as he removed the splinters. "I wasn't going to give in to all of them. I never leave the house without one well hidden. Not even the metal detector could catch it."
He notices the curious and disturbed looks, "I won't say where I hide it. I suggest not to ask questions if you don't want to know the answer" he retrieves his knife and maneuvers it between his fingers. "But if it makes you feel better, this is the only one I have left."
"Why I don't believe you?" Nigel scoffed.
Near them, Lucas also tries another bed that doesn't instantly fall apart and lies down on it. "It's been a long time since I've been in a real bed" he worms his way onto the mattress and finds a comfortable position, "Eh, softer than my inflatable mattress. That's already a victory. Good night everyone!" he falls asleep immediately and starts snoring.
"Get up!" Hunter wasn't going to tolerate a sloth as a teammate, so he just picks up the mattress and throws Lucas to the floor.
"Dude, what the hell?" the sleepyhead was tired of the hunter's constant murderous glances, "Literally, since we started the trip you haven't stopped frowning. Doesn't your forehead hurt? And isn't it uncomfortable with your scar on the road?"
With that he was trying to be funny, but the rest knew that he was just stirring up a hornet's nest. If possible, Hunter's scowl deepened and he tightened his grip on the knife.
Trying to stop a possible murder, Raymond intervenes and stands between the two. "Hey, how about we get some snacks? I'm starving!"
"Go ahead, I have a snack for a while" Lucas responded, taking another bag of chips out of his jacket.
Hunter just grabs the daredevil's hand and twists it. "Don't put your hand on me again or I'll rip it off" he growled in response, although you could tell he was calmer.
Confessional
Lucas - "I don't get why he gets angry. It was a legit question. Such a drama queen."
Raymond - "Lucas seems to be one of those people who goes to concerts and hides all his snacks in his jacket no matter how obvious it looks, but they still get away with it."
Meanwhile, Otis also secured a bed before trying it out. He was not worried about them, convinced that he can repair them if necessary. But something that did worry him was one of his companions, more specifically the creepy man, who had to duck to get through the door.
"No offense, but I think you're too tall for these beds" he told him bluntly.
"Oh, don't worry! I won't stay in those filthy beds" Isaac proceeds to crouch down and slowly get under the beds, squirming like an invertebrate until his entire body is inside. Despite being in broad daylight, a sinister darkness formed under the beds where the clown hides.
He extends his arm and drags it over the bed above until he points at his partner. "I'm much more comfortable here. I hope you don't mind". He pulls his other arm out from the short side and offers it to him as an invitation: "Want to keep me company here? Come on, don't be shy! I don't bite!"
Otis only needed a second to make his decision: "Yeah, no. I'll sleep outside" and he then leaves the cabin.
"I'll wait right here if you change your mind!"
Otis goes outside and yawns, already tired of everything. The plane crash was enough action for one day, but he knows this contest is just beginning and he won't be able to catch a break until the day is over. Better to seize the moment.
"Want some?" the mechanic jumps when a fish touches his cheek. Behind him, hanging upside down holding from the ceiling with his feet, was Diego with a smile and the fish on offer. "You look tired, my friend! You can't rest now, or the predators will smell your weakness!"
"And what are you doing on the roof?"
"Building my nest!" he takes out various branches, leaves, and vines that he will use as materials. "I'll sleep here, to protect the herd! Keeping away any vermin that wants to eat my new friends alive!"
"Uh-huh, okay. Good luck with that" he hurried to see him off, wanting to get away from the madness as soon as possible.
Confessional
Otis - "I haven't even been here for half a day and I already have two crazy people who want to be my friends. On the one hand, it is strategic to get allies quickly. But on the other... I'm afraid of losing my sanity."
"It wasn't enough that they were made of rotten wood" Felix complained as he ran a finger over the dust-covered bunks. "I would think Chris would put on some quality stuff on this so-called awesome show with the increased budget and new sponsor."
"Have you never seen this show?" Raymond asks. "Chris is a total narcissist. He surely wasted the budget on a new 'cottage' full of self-portraits of himself."
"We should be grateful for what we have" Yoshi said, sitting on his own bunk, "At least that host gave us a place to sleep and eat, considering that in the previous season they didn't have any of that."
"I prefer to sleep on the floor than use these pillows that seem to be stuffed with rocks..." Felix holds a pillow and is surprised to feel how heavy it is. He checks and notices something that makes him angry: "Hey! These ARE full of rocks!"
Tony had also entered the cabin and began to look closely at the bunk beds, as if he had never seen them before. He watches Nigel and Julien settled into their own bunks, and understands its function as a sleeping area.
"What is this?" he asks the others, holding up a pillow, one that is indeed filled with feathers.
"Uhm... a pillow" Raymond responds incredulously. "You act like you've never seen them."
"I come from far, far away" Tony responds, admiring the softness of the pillow.
"You're practically... out of this world" Isaac comments, poking his head out from the shadows under the bed.
On the girls' side they also had their opinions. The first to react was Ginger, who gasped in horror at how dirty the cabin was. "OH MY GOSH! THIS PLACE NEEDS A LOT OF HELP!" she squealed before pulling out a duster and starting to clean.
Karen, Maggie and Pearl try out the uncomfortable beds, although Pearl's bed breaks and she gets splinters all over her, earning a laugh from Karen, while Maggie seems comfortable with her bunk bed. Chantal was taking in her new surroundings and inhaled deeply before exhaling and doing her thing: "Alright, comrades! Time to put things in order!"
"What are you talking about now?" Karen asked, although she feels like she's going to regret it.
"As the captain of an entire crew, I have the distinction of saying that I'm the most qualified to take the helm and lead this new team! With me in charge, I'll be sure to guide us to victory and crush anyone who stands in our way!"
"...Okay..." was the only response she received.
Confessional
Karen - "Better her than me. The leaders will always be the target in the votes. If the team fails, in the end the blame falls on her. If she wants to be a leader despite everything, then go ahead."
"Who died and put you in charge, mosquito!?" Agatha boomed as she walked in followed by Erika. "If anyone is going to run this ship, it's gonna be me! I'm the biggest, the strongest, the most-!"
"Noisy, loud, rowdy" quoted Maggie, tired of all the hubbub. "We get it, you two are powerful women. There's no need to crow about it like roosters in the morning."
"Instead of competing, you two could agree and work together" Pearl suggested hopefully and innocently. "You are authoritative, imposing, and have the same goal."
"Nyet! My goal is to achieve this victory on my own! I don't need help from some tadpoles for this! You all would just be dead weight!" was Agatha's response.
"That's a cute thought, but I've led hordes into the sky alone! I've earned the respect of my crew on my own, and I can do it once again here!" was Chantal's response.
The two looked at each other with daggers, determined to take down the other who wants to steal her 'deserved' position as leader. They head towards their own beds, when Erika tries to stop them: "I would suggest you two to be careful. The wood of those bunk beds is too loose and damp. Any extra weight could cause-"
"I didn't ask for your opinion!"
"Thank you, Erika, but I know what I'm doing!"
The warrior and the pirate jump to the top bunk and exactly what Erika tried to warn them about happens. The two bunk beds break and fall to pieces, knocking the two girls to the ground and covering them with dust and splinters.
Confessional
Maggie - "Although it may not seem like it, those two are the same. And that worries me. If they end up on the same team, they will argue for leadership and break the rudder, taking us towards a reef to sink us all."
When everything calms down, Julien suddenly enters with a mischievous scoundrel's smile. He stands in the center for a few seconds until… "So, babes, who would like a show?"
Outside, some contestants like Clover, Rita and Sonya were doing their thing, when they suddenly saw Julien get thrown from the girls' side and fall into a puddle of mud.
Confessional
Bianca - "As I said before the fall, alliances are important to advance in the game. I want to get along with everyone so that I'm not their first choice in the votes. Plus, I have the chance to do something that I already wanted to do since we left the airport!"
"What's up, girls?" Bianca arrives to say hello, but she doesn't receive any greetings back because everyone is distracted, Clover with her notes, Rita with her chemist, and Sonya with her headphones. "Hi, girls!" she tries again to no avail. In the end she simply touches the singer's shoulder to get her attention, and she succeeds.
"What's up, sister!" Sonya greeted after finally noticing her, "Are they calling us back?"
"No, it was just me... like three times."
"Oh, sorry! It always happens to me. I get lost in the rhythm and everything around me fades away."
"Sorry for not answering, Bianca. I tend to get lost in my mind constantly" Clover also responded, embarrassed.
Confessional
Clover - "Many people have already warned me that I have a mumbling problem. I can't help it. I tend to overthink the things and end up mumbling non-stop until someone has to come to stop me."
"I did notice your presence, I just chose to ignore you" Rita answered bluntly. "But now that you have my attention, go ahead. What's so important to disrupt science?"
"Um, nothing important. I just wanted to say hi and meet my new teammates. You and Clover were very quiet during the trip."
"That's it? You're wasting my time" Rita grabs her things and leaves.
"Wow, that scientist could do with toning it down a bit" Sonya said about it. "If she's going to be like this all the time, she won't get very far in the contest."
"Well, if she prefers to be alone, that's her business" Bianca shrugs and directs her attention to the purple-haired girl. "What about you, Clover? You've got your face glued to that notebook like I'm glued to my phone. What do you write that's so important?"
"Nothing, just... my travel notes" Clover answered somewhat uncomfortable. "I like to document my travels, the adventures I live in each tourist place."
"Ooh, can I see?" she was now interested.
"No!" she hurried to answer, only to realize her mistake. "Sorry, it's just… I'm too embarrassed to show it."
"Don't feel like that! It can't be that bad" Sonya was also interested.
"It's easy for you to say it. You're a music star. You know how to deal with public attention" Clover said, trying to change the subject. "And speaking of which, what are you doing here? Aren't you already famous and rich?"
"Famous? Yes. Rich? I wouldn't put it that way. My manager is the one who controls the earnings from my performances" she responded, starting to play a little melody. "I don't care about the million or the fame. I mean, it would be great if I win, but it wasn't on my priority list when I auditioned."
"And what was that priority?" Bianca asked intrigued.
"To take a break! Don't get me wrong, I love my singing life and I wouldn't change it for anything, but there are times when it's exhausting and you need a break before continuing" she stretches her arms and back to emphasize what she said. "Also to look for some inspiration. Let's see if this time for me in nature can generate a brainstorm for new songs."
"But why did you choose to come to Total Drama? Everyone knows that it is one of the deadliest reality shows that exist" Bianca began to use her phone as a microphone.
"For the money, so my manager doesn't nag me about wasting my time on a 'dumb show'. So, I plan on enjoying my time here while I can!"
"Interesting!" Bianca proceeds to write everything down on her phone.
Confessional
Sonya - "I know what that girl Bianca was up to: a celebrity interview. She already wanted to do it before the flight, but the moment she saw me there, she squealed with joy and fainted, and was asleep for most of the trip. She only woke up an hour before landing. I honestly have no problem answering her questions, as long as it isn't anything too personal or starts acting stalkerish, because if it gets to that point, I'll have to take matters into my own hands… again."
"You said you have a website, right?" Sonya then asked.
"Yes! And a channel on each social network!" Bianca replied excitedly. "There I upload all kinds of content such as gameplays, reviews, reactions, fanarts, podcasts, and other things."
"I remember my early days when I was uploading music videos online before I became popular! I had some much trouble editing them. Your tutorial videos were a lifesaver back then."
"Really?" the geek girl was in disbelief. "Those were some of my first videos! Before I showed my face!"
"I've been subscribed to that channel since the beginning!" she smiles warmly. "I love your content! I always watch a video of yours to relax! They're so entertaining!"
"Really?!" she screeched as her eyes shone like stars.
"I mean it! You're really good with editing and computers. Congrats on your current millions of views."
"Oh! Hehehe... Thanks!"
Seeing the two girls talking passionately, Clover smiles in relief and leaves to continue with her notes.
Confessional
Clover - "Glad that worked. It was easy to divert their attention away from me. Those two are very passionate about their things, like I am about my notes."
Bianca - "O. M. G! I can't believe a superstar is one of my followers and she even supports my work! Best. Day. Ever!"
"What are those?" asked a voice above them.
The two girls raise their heads and see Tony watching and pointing with intrigue at Bianca, specifically at her mouth.
"What are you taking about?" the geek girl raised an eyebrow, uncomfortable with how he's pointing at her.
"You have robotic teeth" he pointed out, moving his finger toward her mouth as if he was hypnotized. "They're so shiny... I want to touch them."
"Uhm, are you talking about my braces?" she slowly backed away from the finger that was too close to her face for her liking.
"Braces..." it's as if he had never heard that word and took it as a great discovery. "Fascinating".
"Hey! What do you think you're doing, bro?" Sonya called him and used her guitar to push him away.
"First: I'm not your brother. I don't know you at all. Don't call me that. Second: I don't think, I am investigating you creatures. I saw something new and I couldn't resist. You specifically have all those metal fragments embedded all over your face for no apparent reason other than aesthetics. Such a waste of materials" Tony responded, pointing to the piercings, before admiring the musical instrument, "And what kind of device is this? What is its purpose?"
"Its purpose is to create sweet melodies, break eardrums, and it is perfect for scaring away crazy people."
"A multipurpose weapon? What a curious design" he commented, analyzing the guitar closely and ignoring the threat.
Sonya was confused by those observations as if everything was new and unknown to him. But before they continue arguing, Bianca decides to intervene: "I'll take care of it, if you don't mind."
Confessional
Bianca - "I'm the only girl in a house full of boys, I think I know a thing or two about them. I know they're not all the same, but it wouldn't hurt to try to get to know him better."
"Hey… Tomy, right? Tell me, what do you like to do? Videogames, wrestling, partying?"
"To make Mother proud! It's my purpose and my greatest pleasure" he answered proudly, not caring that she had spelled his name wrong.
"Interesting" Bianca takes out her phone and writes it down, "Tell me-"
"That's one of those weird communication devices that everyone here has their faces glued to all the time" he interrupted her and took the phone from her to examine it. He proceeds to touch it, look at it, sniff it, lick it, chew it and listen to it, but he doesn't find anything interesting. "I don't understand the reason for your obsession with these devices" he holds it up with two fingers, having lost interest.
Suddenly, the phone rings and the screen lights up showing a clock and the time marked. "IT'S GONNA EXPLODE!" Tony flinches and knocks it to the ground before stepping on it and breaking it in half, all greeted by a horrified gasp from Bianca and a dismayed look from Sonya. "And they are extremely fragile" he concludes his observation and leaves without saying more.
"It was just the alarm" Bianca moaned as she picked up the pieces and cried for her loss.
"Do you want me to teach him a lesson for you?" Sonya offered herself with her guitar in hand like a club.
"Nah, I'll be fine" the geeky girl quickly gets over her loss and pulls out another phone happily.
"Good one, sister!" the singer congratulated and extended her hand, which was reciprocated by a high five.
Confessional
Sonya - "I've dealt with all kinds of freaks, some savages, some perverts, some crazy ones, but that guy Tony is something new. It's like he's lived his entire life under a rock at the bottom of the sea."
After they have made themselves comfortable, Chris leads them out of the cabins so they can continue. While continuing their walk, some get bored of the views and start chatting with each other to pass the time.
"So...who's excited about all this?" Bianca was the one who started it.
"I am!" Ginger squealed happily. "I want to play and make new friends!"
"It'll be fun until we start with the eliminations" Raymond said, making some nervous and erasing some smiles. "Don't get me wrong, most of you look cool, but sooner or later you're going to have to leave the competition."
"Most of us?" Karen asked with an eyebrow raised in suspicion.
"There are people here who are kind of... weird" he responded pointing to a certain guy with dark clothes and a top hat.
"You're talking about me?" Isaac asked, his smile still on his face.
"No offense, buddy, but your choice of clothing is pretty disturbing."
"I like using it" he explained, running his hands over the straps. "Any problem with that?"
"No, I just don't want you to give me a heart attack every night."
"Oh, that would be hilarious!" he laughs at the dismayed faces of his companions.
On the other hand, Pearl was walking in silence thinking about a topic of conversation, or if she should open her mouth to begin with. She knows they've only just arrived and still not sure if it's a good idea to say something with all the fighting that's already happened so far. She was still trapped in her mind until accidentally bumps into Nigel.
"Oh, forgive me" he apologized.
"No, no, it was my fault. I'm so sorry. I didn't see where I was walking" she rushed to apologize in his place, all embarrassed.
"No issue, no one got hurt" he smiles to calm her down. "Nice name, by the way. Pearl... It fits you perfectly, like a ring on a finger."
"Oh, hehe... Thank you very much" she responded with a blushing face.
Confessional
Nigel - "I'm known in many ways, but my favorite is: Nigel's the name, and charming is my game."
"How do you think Chris will assign the teams?" Maggie asked them.
"Last season, the teams were assigned based on who had parachutes and who didn't. Who knows? When thinking about this crazy show, surely that deranged psycho host will blow us up and assign us based on who comes out unscathed and who doesn't" Rita theorized.
"That sounds amazing!" Raymond was excited.
"That sounds horrible!" Erika was horrified.
"Get used to it, dear. Those who have already seen this show know that this is not a surprise" Karen told her, "Every episode can be that volatile."
"Do you think they'll assign captains?" Pearl asked, nervous about being assigned to said position. She doesn't have enough self-confidence to lead a whole group of people that she can't even engage in conversation with yet.
"I don't remember them ever doing that before" Bianca responded, being one of the people who knows the most about the show. "I think it's more fun for the audience to see us fight for that position."
"If I have to fight for it, I'll gladly do it!" Chantal exclaimed, confident in her abilities.
"I'll squash any mosquito that thinks can take that job from me!" Agatha exclaimed, crossing her huge arms.
"Please don't make me laugh" Felix spat. "A leader must know how to command authority and respect, and I don't see anything worth respecting in you two" that comment earned ugly looks from the two girls.
"But here you are, acting like you deserve respect" Maggie scoffed.
"Unlike those two crazy chicks, I'm not delusional and I do have my feet on the ground. I know the rules inside and out. I have more self-control and my mind is focused on the prize."
"Do I have to remind you that you literally charged us like a buffalo to save yourself?"
"That's called taking the initiative. Another important quality of a leader" he answered bluntly.
"On the farm I'm the one who handles the whole cattle and keeps them in their place. That's enough to nominate me for captain" she commented mockingly.
"Unlike your stinking cattle, we're not dumb animals that you can ride and control with a rope."
"Wanna bet?" she glares at him while holding her rope around her hands.
"Go ahead, do it" he challenged her with a sly smile.
"I want some of that too!" the mischievous Julien already had a craving.
"Careful there, sister! Remember, they only let you keep it as long as you don't attack anyone, no matter how deserved it may be" Sonya stopped her, glancing disdainfully at Felix, who snorted in response.
"Aww, I already wanted it" Julien moaned disappointed.
"Ha! As if anyone is going to respect a mastodon who doesn't stop snorting all the time and a delusional girl who thinks is a pirate" Nigel mocked.
"I don't think so, I AM a real sky pirate!" Chantal was tired of no one taking her seriously.
"Of course, dear, and I'm the Wizard of Oz."
Confessional
Nigel - "Chantal better quit this 'sky pirate' thing and start behaving like a real person. No one asked for another Leonard here. The only good thing is that it already makes her a target in the voting because of how annoying she is. So far no one seems to take her seriously or want her around. It'll be easy to convince others to vote her out."
Chantal - "What's up with all those buccaneers? Why doesn't anyone believe me? Tch, if they think they can underestimate me, they're making a big mistake!"
Agatha was already tired of all that and wanted to start with the first challenge so she could crush the competition and show who is the greatest present. At that time she noticed Lucas looking at her with confusión, and she didn't like that. "What are you looking at?"
He looks at her for a few more seconds before daring to say it: "Okay, I'm gonna bite. Are you a man or a woman?"
That short and simple question brought a deadly silence. No one was able to understand what was going through the boy's mind to dare ask that question, especially to someone so brutal and addicted to violence.
Confessional
Nigel - "Is he serious? He's crazy!"
Rita - "How immature."
Raymond - "He really loves stinging the hornet's nest."
Diego - "THANK YOU FOR ASKING IT!"
Agatha looked at him as if she was really going to follow through on her threat to swat him like a mosquito, but they were all in for a surprise when she finally replied with: "It's none of your business."
Confessional
Julien - "Eh, I didn't expect that one."
Agatha - "Father instilled in me that my gender is not relevant at all. Whether male or female, I must be the biggest and strongest to survive anything. Those comments no longer affect me."
"I'm curious too now. Don't get too agitated, babe! I'm fine with anyone!" Julien was now just kicking said hornet's nest for fun. "I'm just worried that you'll break me in half. I don't think I can handle all of that" he gestures to point out how sturdy she was.
"You're like one of those test dolls, just male version" Rita said disdainfully.
"Bravo, that was a good one" he commented and clapped sarcastically. "Is that how you're going to put it? Do you want me to be your test subject?"
If Julien's intention was to upset Rita, he's doing a great job if the look of disgust and the shivers were proof enough. But before he could continue, he receives a strong hit from Sonya's guitar.
"Enough craziness for this episode, don't you think so?" she smiled as she held her instrument triumphantly.
Confessional
Sonya - "You have no idea how many punishments I had to deal with this bad kid" shows off her guitar proudly. "I don't need any bodyguards to defend me. I'm not the helpless little princess who needs protection that my manager and my parents like to think. With my guitar I have come out of many difficult situations unscathed."
Julien - "You're all probably wondering why I'm so 'annoying' and I continue to be so despite getting kicked in the shin. The answer is very simple: because I love doing it! The fact that everyone takes it out on me makes it clear that it affects them, and I'll keep doing it just for fun. Let's see how long they can handle my great personality."
Chris continues showing other tourist places in the area quickly until he reaches the dining hall. "And to finish the tour, we have our dining room where you will receive two meals a day: breakfast and dinner."
"What about lunch?" Lucas asked.
"You'll have to discuss that with our star chef," he replied before noticing something in the sky falling towards them. "And speaking of the devil, everyone give a big round of applause to the show's co-host: Chef Hatchet!"
Said cook parachuted in front of them and stood up with authority. However, all the applause he received was from Ginger. The rest still couldn't get over the fact that the ex-military let them fall out of a cargo plane just like that.
"Yo, Chef, where are our suitcases?" Felix demanded to know.
"Why don't you see it yourselves?" he smiled evilly as he pointed to the sky, where the same plane was still flying, but now he was blowing smoke from one of the engines. Now that there is no pilot, and Chef accidentally on purpose forgot to activate the autopilot, the plane simply plummets and disappears into the distance, until the sound of an explosion is heard in the distance.
Confessional
Bianca - "The flight was 16 hours, and we all had to sleep in those seats together. I'm sure our suitcases had a more comfortable flight than us."
"With the tour concluded, it's time to start the first challenge!" Chris then announced.
"Say what? But we just got here! I'm tired!" Lucas complained.
"You were asleep the whole trip! Don't complain!" Felix scolded him, slapping the back of his head.
"First challenge already?" Bianca questioned an important detail: "What about the teams?"
"I decided to start simple and straightforward: it will be a free-for-all!" that earned surprised looks from almost all the contestants. "The first challenge will be a race around the island! The first to make a complete lap will be the winner!"
"What's the prize?" Nigel asked.
"What all the contestants want most: immunity in tonight's vote!"
"No teams? That means we're all in danger of being eliminated" Hunter guessed with a ruthless smile.
"Why so smiling? You're also at risk" Julien mocked.
Confessional
Hunter - "A race to start with no teams is perfect. It gives the opportunity to define who is in better shape and who is dead weight. And of course, the last one to reach the finish line will be considered the weakest link and will be eliminated."
Agatha - "This race is important, because it will separate the strong from the weak. It will help me see who will be the best competition. My goal is to reach the final rounds with the strongest ones, so that my victory is absolute."
A screen emerges from the artificial ground next to Chris and shows a map of the island, marking the route that the contestants must follow and the reference points. "For this race you will have to cross a forest full of surprises, a labyrinth of underground caves, a large lake and a waterfall, a very steep rocky mountain, and all the wildlife. As simple as eating cake!"
"That's debatable" Felix commented with his hands on his hips.
"And don't forget about any traps you encounter along the way! If you stumble, you must swallow your pain and continue. Remember the cowards and weak people do not win this contest."
"That's also debatable" Felix commented again, remembering some curious winners in past seasons.
"But... it might be a good opportunity to explore and look for the immunity idol! Who knows? Maybe you guys will stumble across it and find it by chance, if you don't die along the way."
Confessional
Nigel - "That idol could be my lifeline. I have no hope of winning this race, so I should take advantage and form some alliances along the way, to try to gain some power in tonight's vote."
Chantal - "The immunity idol has to be the most powerful item in the contest! Whoever has it will have all the power for one night! I need to find it! That loot will be enough to earn me the respect of my comrades!"
Hunter - "I must find that idol as soon as possible. You never know when you will be targeted in the voting. At any moment my bad attitude will create a target on my back, but I never pretend to be something I'm not. Right now my goal will be to win this race and meet my competition. I'll have time to track this quarry tonight."
Agatha - "They make too much of a fuss about that piece of wood. The fact that they are so determined to get it only makes it clear that they're not going to give everything in the challenges. I don't need that idol! I'm just going to win every single challenge and get the immunity with my efforts. I'll make it to the finals with my skills alone!"
"Alright! Let's get started!" Raymond exclaimed, bumping a fist into his palm, excited by the action.
"Pay attention, contestants, because I hate having to repeat simple things. The dining hall is the starting line and it's also the finish line. To win immunity you must go inside and ring a bell that'll be waiting for you. You have until sunset to do the race. If no one makes it by then, no one gets anything! Any questions?"
"You lost me at the 'Pay attention' part. Can you repeat it all?" Julien asked more to annoy than anything else.
"Can I keep any pet beasts?" Diego asked.
"Can we take shortcuts or do we have to play fair?" Nigel asked.
"The last place will be eliminated?" Pearl asked.
"What if someone dies on the way? For example, if it gets killed 'by accident' or something like that" Isaac asked, causing everyone to shut up and look at him disturbed.
"Final answer: I don't care!" Chris answered, before raising his hand with a megaphone, making everyone get ready and take their positions to start running. "Are you all ready!? On your marks! … Get set! …"
The image on the screen shows the expressions of each contestant, demonstrating their opinion about the start of the competition. Some like Chantal, Clover, Raymond, Maggie, Nigel, Julien, Sonya and Karen showed confident smiles, others like Ginger, Lucas, Bianca, Erika, Diego and Pearl were very excited to start, and the rest, that is, Felix, Hunter, Agatha, Yoshi, Rita, Otis and Tony, all had serious expressions. The only one with an unreadable expression was Isaac, who just stood there with his unchanging smile without giving any hint of his emotions.
"START!" the host sounded the megaphone siren to finally start the race, but unfortunately he was in the way of the cast. "Wait, watch out my face! Not my hair! I just ironed these clothes!" but his screams of horror were left in the air as the runners didn't think, or rather didn't bother, to surround him and only pushed him to the ground to walk over him.
Confessional
Karen - "Yeah, that was on purpose. I can already imagine all the torture Chris will put us through. We have to enjoy these little pleasures in life."
They all ran towards the forest, quickly disappearing from sight. Back at the starting area, Chris stands up showing several footprints on him. He pulls himself together from the accident, fixing his hair and brushing the dirt off his shirt. Once that's done, he turns his attention to the camera to do his thing:
"And so begins this new season! Will they survive the treacherous traps? Will they manage to reach the goal unscathed? What will come after that? And the question that generates the most intrigue in the audience: Who will be the first eliminated from the season? Find out when we get back, here at…!"
"Total! Drama! Enchanted!"

Author's Notes
Well, to start the first weekend of the new year, here I bring you the first chapter of the remake of Total Drama Enchanted. I hope to be able to complete this story this year so that next year I can release the next season. I know it's a pain to wait, but since this remake will be the final and official version, everything that happens in the future will follow this story. I ask veteran readers to please be patient. Until then, you can enjoy this new version and even compare it with the original. You can leave your reviews whenever you want. Everyone is welcome.
In general, it is the chapter that received the most changes, because now instead of all the contestants arriving one by one in a row, now they all arrive together at the island on a cargo plane, similar to the second cast on a boat in Revenge of the Island, and the third cast in an blimp on Pahkitew Island. This helps generate more tension much faster. The seeds of conflict have already been sown and some of the most sly contestants are already executing their strategies. And based on this, the following chapters will be affected as well.
And of course, the biggest change was suffered by some of the contestants regarding their personalities, and now they have more presence in the story. In the original, or now called beta version, many contestants passed without pain or glory. In this remake, everyone here already have their goals clear and interact more with the others.
I think that's all to comment on for now. What do you think of this remake? I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did writing it. As I said, only the first few chapters require an immense rewrite. The last chapters do make me more pleased, but they will still have slight changes. See you soon when I publish the second part, which will hopefully arrive this or next month. Bye-bye!
