"You going to be okay?" Adrien asked, as he and Marinette gathered up their things at the end of the day. Marinette hadn't had the best day at school, and Adrien wanted to cheer her up. "I have a bakery shift I need to get to. I'll see you tonight for patrol though." "Okay."

With a quick hug and kiss, Adrien watched her go. "I need to cheer her up, Plagg," he whispered to his Kwami, "but how."

It was hard to focus on fencing that day. Marinette was always their to cheer him up, so he needed to the same for her. But no ideas were coming. Maybe a surprise visit to the bakery?

Gathering his things, Adrien set off. Even if Marinette wasn't working the front counter, he could at least get a snack. A short line wound its way outside, and Adrien sighed. "Come on, buddy. We'll try the back entrance into the kitchen."

Transforming in the alleyway, Claw quietly opened the door, skidding to a stop when he peeked around the corner. Marinette was gazing at her bracelet Adrien had given her for her birthday, a abandoned dough ball next to her.

"I just want to feel special, Nikki. I just feel so boring," Claw could hear her say. He stepped back, thinking. Wanting to feel special, huh? Then he got it, and quietly made his way back outside. "Daggers In."

"Are we finally heading for the cheese store?" Plagg grumbled. "My belly is talking." "Later, we're going to make Marinette feel special today."

Adrien liked going to the flower shop on the corner, as the bright colors and lovely scents always cheered him up. He and Marinette had spent many happy hours here, giggling and trying different flowers on her latest hat creations. There was one time where they had run screaming from a shop when some bees decided Marinette's hat would make the perfect new home.

Bluebells were Marinette's favorite flower, but he wanted a more vibrant flower. He gathered a bouquet of black-eyed Susan, adding a pink rose to add a slight Claw Noir touch.

Adrien was feeling good as they headed down the block, stopping at Starbucks for special coffee and French toast platter.

It took some time to arrange it on a special tray, but soon Claw deemed his surprise ready. He and Marinette shared a secret spot and he texted her to come join him.

"Claw, I'm not really in the mood…." Marinette begin as she appeared, stopping in her tracks. "Surprise, my love. I wanted to cheer you up."

Marinette's eyes and voice grew soft. "You….you did this for me?" "You would have done the same for me, Princess." "I don't know what to say." "The french toast sticks aren't going to eat themselves," he grinned. "I'll eat them, but only if you share them with me," Marinette stepped closer.

"But first there's something I need to do," she wrapped her arms around Claw, giving him a hug then a kiss. Claw purred, and Marinette shed a small happy tear. It was the simple gestures that made her love him even more.
