Da Shoppe

Chris merrily hummed the jazz jingle of Da Shoppe as he led the contestants towards the shop.

"Welcome to a hotspot of this competition: Da Shoppe! Owned by the one and only: Chef Hatchet!"

Da Shoppe was a market stand with plenty of belts hanging off of the ceiling, only high enough for Chef to reach aside from the few tallest competitors. Along the sides were the overflow of food and tools for the contestants to use throughout the competition. On the main panel of the stand was a menu consisting of everything Chef Hatchet had to sell.

"A First Aid Kit, 3 coins; Bow and Arrow, 3 coins; Flint and Steel, 4 coins…" Kairo read off some of the survival items.

"Sewing Supplies, A Chicken Coop, A Cabin?" Evelyn read off with surprise. "Aren't these things kind of essential? And it says there's only one of everything?"

"Nah nah nah…" Chef shook his head. "Those are just for the luxuries. One o' every luxury item. We got tons o' survival gear. Now, listen up, maggots! This is important if you don't want to go to your camps empty!"

All the contestants quieted their chatter.

"The rules for my shop are simple. You have the money. You pay the sales price. There are no taxes, heh heh heh… yet!"

The contestants gasped.

Chef continued. "I have multiples of the survival items and food items." Chef pointed to those sections of the menu. "Sometimes, I might be out of stock, but try again tomorrow. In the meantime, since we are legally obligated to try to keep you all alive, the crew will help out with gettin' what y'all need… given you can pay."

Wendy elbowed JT. "This'll be interesting!"

"The luxuries can also be purchased just by the sales price," Chef moved on. "But there is only one of each. Meaning, only one guild, or person, can have the item. Whether they decide to share is up to them."

Selena walked up to the sign. "So, you're telling me you have this?" She pointed at a menu item.

Chef nodded. "That's an item from our miscellaneous section. Things that we may or may not want to get rid of. They have the same 'only one of each in stock' rule as the luxuries, and the purchaser gets the owner's rights."

Selena stroked her chin after reading 'Michael's Clothes.' "So that's where they went…interesting…"

"And the same 'owner's rights' rule applies to items in our game advantages section." Chef narrowed his eyes. "These are the things you can buy to help yourself out in the game. There is also only one of each, so choose what you buy wisely. Y'all could ask me for the rules for each of them, but you are also given directions upon purchase. So don't waste my time with pointless questions."

"This is very interesting… This game is nothing short of my real life! Gamble some money, buy some things, sleep, repeat. I think I have a good understanding of what digs we should score today."

"In order to keep things fair," Chris continued with the rules, "we will be taking turns when it comes to buying things at Da Shoppe, since, you know, there are only one of some items."

Chef held some giant scissors in his hands. "And to promote sales on the first day of my opening, all items are 50% off today!" Chef tied a red ribbon around his shop and narrowed his eyes. "Get it while it's hot!" Chef held up the 7-layer chocolate cake.

Chris held his arm up. "You will be given some time to discuss strategy before the official grand opening!"

Kairo held his arm up. "Is there any way we can be given a map of where our campsite will be located?"

Chris thought about it. "Nah! Not knowing will make the surprise that much better!" Chris got a phone call. "Hello? ... Huh? ... What do you mean giving them the maps beforehand will help them survive better? … Oh, fine! Have our Gemmy's taken away from us then! … … … Ugh! Fine!" Chris hung up the call. "Okay, so the lawyers think it'll be better if you all knew where you lived! I thought that was cleared up, but no, I guess not! So here you go!" Chris threw the maps at the guilds. "Your discussion will start in exactly two minutes!"

Game Mechanic: Da Shoppe

Rules:

Contestants will pay sales price for each item, unless there is a sale.

There are multiple of the food items and survival items.

There are only one of the luxuries, game advantages, and miscellaneous items each.

If contestants spend all their coins in their possession, they will be sent to the Sarim Desert.

For the opening sale of 50% off, contestants will be given 5 minutes to discuss what items they should buy and what coins to pool. They have been given maps to their locations which lets them know what biome they will be living in, and which items will better suit their living experience on The Jazira.

The Sahra Guild

Contestants: Eleanor, Hansel, James, Jianne, Kairo, Laurie, Luna, Selena

"Alright everyone! Here's how it'll work!" Kairo excitedly clapped his hands.

"Yes!" Selena clapped her hands louder. "We need plenty of food, so I'll get on that! And fire, so someone has to get the flint and steel!"

"Allow me to interject!" Kairo said as politely as possible. "But, as a studied survivalist, I have a different plan than yours. Food is absolutely essential, but all I need are two sticks to make the fire. Since we are located in a desert-ish area, sticks may be difficult to come across, so we should stockpile now and later, we can use what we come across. Does that sound good to you?"

"Well, yes!" Selena nodded with a smile. "You seem sure of yourself, Survivor Man, so please, by all means continue."

Kairo nodded. "The next thing we must worry about is water!" He looked at the map. "We are most nearby to the ocean than any other guild, so-"

"We should go for the buckets." Eleanor nodded. "I can handle that one!"

"Good! The next thing is shelter…"

Eleanor butted in again. "The tarp is affordable! I can handle that one too. We just need to pitch it up…"

Jianne shrugged. "I'm a fast learner."

"Me too!" Laurie pipped up.

Hansel quietly nodded. "I can help with the architecture. I can work up a design just by looking at it."

"And I shall guide you!" Kairo cheered. "Last thing to make us feel comfortable is hygiene!"

The guild stared at the menu for a bit.

"Well," Selena shrugged, "there's a sponge in the miscellaneous category."

"The First Aid Kit could also help with cleaning up our cuts and scrapes." James said because no one else was bringing it up.

Jianne nodded. "Okay, game plan, now. We know Eleanor will buy the tarp and the buckets. Selena will buy the food…"

Selena nodded.

"Good." Jianne nodded. "Kairo, you can handle the sticks?"

"Yes, I shall also handle the pot."

"Okay, The First Aid Kit? James?"

"Actually," Luna finally spoke up, "I will take that one."

"And the sponge?"

Laurie shrugged. "I guess I'll handle the sponge."

"Great!" Jianne cheered. "We have a game plan!"

Confessional: Luna: The Sahra Guild

"I know I'm not saying anything much, and that makes you sad because you're watching this because of me. But the others had a better idea of how to make this island life… doable." She sighed through gritted teeth.

The Majraa Guild

Contestants: Amethyst, Braden, Declan, Katniss, Larissa, Vivian L., Vivian P.

Declan started up the conversation. "So… does anyone have a good idea of what to buy? This sort of stuff isn't really my strong suit…"

Vivian Locke peered closely at the map. "We're near a body of water… a river. We could probably find a freshwater stream."

"Water… good." Katniss held her thumb up. "Food… we needs meat. Me buy sharp for hunt. Me teach hunt." Katniss stopped. "Any…people do hunt?"

The guild collectively shook their heads.

"Me teaching hunt."

Vivian Perez nodded. "I'm sure some rice would pair nicely with that."

Katniss nodded. "Me buy rice."

Amethyst handed Vivian Locke a hand-written note. Vivian read it out loud. "What other resources are we around?" The musician looked at the map. "Well, it says we're in the forest. Bug spray would be nice if we had the coins for it."

Larissa chimed in. "A good shelter would be a cheaper solution for that problem, I think. If we're in the forest, there could be some good foliage we can use."

Amethyst passed Vivian Locke another hand-written note. "I can buy the rope for that, as well as some flint and steel for a fire." Vivian Locke nodded at Amethyst. "Sounds good."

"If we're going to do that," Declan chimed in, "then we should also buy the big knife. It'll double as something to hunt with, and something to collect materials with. Oh, and just to be clear that I'm not trying to force a purchase on any of you, I'll get that one."

Braden counted in his fingers. "Food, water, shelter… I think that's everything!"

The Kaniun Guild

Contestants: Drake, Evelyn, JT, Lizzy, Tony, Wendy, Winter

Wendy took a good look at the map. "We landed in the canyon! YEE HAW!"

Winter gasped. "Oh, that'll be beautiful! What kind of resources are there for us?"

"Lemme tell ya one thang! Lotsa climbing for scoutin'!"

"Oh brother." Drake muttered.

"Could we hunt for our food?" JT asked. "I'm just wondering because I do a lot of eating. You know," JT shrugged, "just a warning."

"I also eat quite a bit," Tony spoke up.

"Oh please, all sorts of animals live in the canyon, which means we have to be careful!" Wendy spoke up. "Lotsa predators! Bear traps would be good. Like huntin' off the clock!"

JT nodded. "That sounds good. I'll get some beans and dried meat!"

Evelyn spoke up. "What about carbs for the rest of us?"

Wendy showed the guild the map. "Here is our campsite, and here are the things within a mile's radius. There's plenty of foliage in the canyon for us to live off of, and it might be smart to stock up on the meat while we can. Also, lookie here! There are some rice terraces! As much as it seems like the canyon is the most unlivable, I think this is where the Ancients use'ta live! We must've lucked out! The thang I'm most concerned about is water. We'll be doing a lotta walking, and it doesn't seem like we have a good spot to catch'a drink."

Evelyn nodded. "Then I'll get the water bottles. They're only seven coins right now."

"I'll get the flint and steel then." Tony held his thumb up. "Fire is just as important as water."

"I mean," Wendy began talking, "I can use two sticks to make a fire! Believe me, I did it! But I guess if you want to make some too, then we can get the flint and steel. Just warning you that it might be a waste."

"It's an investment I'm willing to make. Besides, Wendy, we will need you for the climbing and scouting."

"Go on, sweetcakes, I never said it was a bad idea. And that does take some responsibility off ma shoulders."

"Speaking of fire," Drake continued, "I can buy us a pot. It might help with water too. If we left it out while it rained, we could have a great source of water like that. If there are rice terraces, this is probably a rainy area."

Lizzy clapped her hands. "Great! And I will get the pillows and blankets!"

The guild went silent.

"Um," Winter questioned her, "are you sure?"

"One thousand percent!" Lizzy explained. "I can't sleep without a blanket."

JT shrugged. "I'd let you use my tank top. I don't need a shirt to sleep anyways."

"I don't think the pillows and blankets are a bad idea. We could all have some comfort while the others don't. I do appreciate a good night's sleep." Evelyn suggested.

"Thanks for the comfort, Lizzy!" Wendy encouraged. "I think we covered all ground!"

The Aljibal Guild

Contestants: Christopher, Cole, Harry, Jeremy, Mason, Rosa, Trevore

Mason held the map upside-down while concentrating super hard.

Rosa shook her head. "Who gave him the map?"

Trevore shook his head. "I wish we could buy all the luxuries! That would be so nice. It'll be like living at home on the island."

Harry shrugged. "The only difference here is that you don't have any television."

Trevore thought for a second. "I wonder if we could ask! That sounds like a good idea!"

Mason nudged Harry. "Hey! That was a good one!"

"Thank you!" Harry said.

"May I take a look at the map?" Jeremy asked.

Mason turned the map around and right-side up for Jeremy to see.

"Okay, we're in the mountains… great. It'll be cold, so fire is our best resource. I can get us some flint and steel." Jeremy turned to his contestants. "How will the rest of you contribute?"

"I will get the knife because I'm a knife guy," Mason punned, "but also because they are the most useful tool in a survival setting, besides the flint and steel."

"I'll get some food." Rosa stepped in. "The rice and beans for all of us."

"I'm getting the compass." Christopher put his coins in.

"Hey," Harry complimented Christopher, "that's a good score."

"Well, we have a map, and maps and compasses go together!"

Trevore thought about it. "Well, I am getting the duct tape!"

"To do what exactly?" Rosa asked.

"Well, because, it's, like, super useful!"

"Not as useful as the knife!" Mason pitched in. "It's even good for jokes!"

"I'll get us the buckets." Harry changed the subject. "It will be useful when it comes to gathering materials.

Jeremy gestured towards Cole. "What do you intend on buying?"

Cole stood in a thinking pose. "I'm not quite sure yet. Let me go last, I'll think of something then. It's difficult when plenty of good options are taken though. Our time on The Jazira will be nothing short of an adventure!"

Re-Group

Contestants: All, except Allen

Chris held his stop watch. "Time is up! Contestants, please quiet your chatter so the rounds can begin! Chef?"

Chef cut the red ribbon with his ridiculously large scissors. "Da Shoppe is now open for business!"

"Instead of taking turns, like a boring host, we will go by categories. First up is food! Line up!"

Katniss was the first in line for the food. "Me wants rice." Katniss put 2 coins on the counter.

"One bag of rice. Anything else?"

"No." Katniss ran back to her guild with the rice. Vivian Locke held her hand up for a high-five. Katniss smacked her hand as hard as she could.

Rosa came up to the counter next with four coins in her hand. "Could I get a Bag of Rice and the Bag of Beans?"

"You got it!"

Rosa slowly carried bags back to the guild. She slammed them on the ground once she got there.

JT was next in line. "I need a bag of beans and some dried meat."

Chef looked surprised. "That's it?"

JT nodded. "Yes, my man!" JT took the food back to his guild easily.

Selena was last to the counter. "Hey Chef! How are you today?"

"Tons of business today. I'm afraid this will be the last day it'll be like this though. You know, opening and whatnot."

"Oh, I hope it doesn't go that way." She made some small talk.

"Probably will. There's about 100 people on this island, and only 30 actually pay me. Anyways, what can I get for you?"

"We're gonna need some rice and some dried meat." Selena handed her coins to Chef.

"Anything else?"

"You know what?" Selena stared at the menu some more. "Get us some salt and pepper too!" She handed Chef another coin. "Thank you!"

"My pleasure!" Chef handed Selena all the goods. She gently carried her food to her guild.

"Any last minute purchases?" Chris announced to the cast. "That ends that food round! Onto round 2! The Survival Gear round!"

A montage of contestants coming up to the counter, handing in their coins, and collecting gear for their guild played.

Kairo managed to swing by the counter first, landing his guild 20 Sticks and a pot for 13 coins.

Harry swung by next carrying 3 buckets for his guild for 4 coins.

Declan reached the counter after Harry, nearly bumping into him in the process. He came back to his guild with a Knife and 5 coins less than what he originally had before.

Luna came back to her Guild with the First Aid Kit.

Vivian P set the large pot down next to the rice.

Christopher enjoyed spinning the compass around after purchasing.

Wendy thanked Chef for the Bear Traps.

Tony purchased the flint and steel in a very similar manner to Selena's purchasing. This time though, Tony held up the line.

Eleanor came back to her guild with her arms full of the tarp and buckets. Kairo and Hansel helped take the load off of her arms.

Katniss successfully made her second purchase of bow and arrows.

Drake placed 4 coins on the counter, and Chef handed him the large pot.

Amethyst passed Chef a note and the appropriate amount of coins for each item she wrote down. Chef came back with rope and the flint and steel.

Jeremy, not even realizing that the round had started, ended being last in line, securing his own flint and steel.

After Jeremy, Mason stepped up to get his knife.

Confessional: Mason: The Aljibal Guild

"Now I can say that I was first in line."

End Confessional

"What a haul for each guild!" Chris rubbed his hands together. "Good luck taking these things all the way back to your campsite!"

Lizzy nudged Evelyn. "Luckily, we have a solution!"

"Next Round, the luxuries!"

Lizzy sprinted up to the counter, even though it was only her and Evelyn to the counter.

"Pillows and Blankets!" Lizzy put 10 coins on the counter.

Chef handed her seven pillows and three queen-sized blankets. "Next!"

"We just need the water bottles!" Evelyn handed Chef 7 coins.

"There you go!" Chef gave Evelyn a carrier with seven bottles, even though eight bottles could fit on it.

"Anyone else want to buy some discounted luxuries?" Chris looked around at the contestants.

No one else stepped up.

Two interns slapped [ SOLD OUT ] stickers over the Self-Purifying Water Bottles and the Pillows and Blankets.

"Onto the miscellaneous category, and we'll end it with the game advantages!"

Trevore skipped up to the counter first. "Chef, I would like to buy some duct tape!" Trevore handed Chef 3 coins.

Laurie made it up next. "I just want a sponge." She handed Chef 2 coins.

"There you go, sweetie."

"Anyone else? Doesn't look like it." Chris made the final call. Two more interns stepped up to the menu board. "Time for game advantages."

No contestants stepped up to the counter.

Confessional: Evelyn: The Kaniun Guild

"I would kill for a game advantage, but I can't let anyone else know that I have one! I just have to hope that I can get a game advantage on another sale."

End Confessional

"Final call?" Chris teased the contestants.

Cole walked up to the counter. "Chef? I would like to buy the mystery box." He put 10 coins on the counter.

"In front of everybody?" Chef teased Cole as well.

A pirate voice came over Cole. "What is a pirate with no treasure? This'll be the loot of the game. You scalawags best watch their behinds!" Cole headed back to his guild with the mystery box.

Confessional: Cole: The Aljibal Guild

Cole reverted back to his normal voice. "And we just have to add a little drama to Total Drama."

End Confessional

"So there we have it!" Chris threw his arms up. "Each Guild has acquired what they think is enough for this season of Total Drama. If they need anything else, Chef?"

Chef took away the 50% off sale sign.

"They will have to pay at full price." Chris continued with his hosting. "Contestants, please make your way towards your campsites, and be on the lookout for mail."

Confessional: Hansel: The Sahra Guild

"Let the games begin…"

End Confessional

The Aljibal Guild

Contestants: Christopher, Cole, Harry, Jeremy, Mason, Rosa, Trevore

The Aljibal Guild was the first to make it to their campsite due to their compass helping them find their way. A large sign marked where their campsite should be as well as some information the contestants decided to ignore for the time being… Except for Harry.

Harry read the sign out loud, mainly to himself. "The Aljibal Guild, also known as the Mountain Guild, lived among the mountains, specializing in mineral resources. Many had dread living here due to the harsh climates, most notable in the summer with dry, hot days and freezing cold nights. Many came here in search of employment. The mountains were also home to many of the prisons of The Jazira. Enjoy your freedom here in the Mountains, and good luck in your competition!"

Rosa shook herself off. "I feel much better up here than down there."

"Our nights will be cold though," Jeremy rubbed his hands together.

Cole set a bucket of water down. "It was a spectacular idea to collect things on the way, Harry."

Harry saluted. "I'm just doing my part for the team… or guild, I should say."

Mason looked around the area. "I think this is my spot." He dug a hole and stuck a large branch in the hole, marking his shelter. He arranged all the branches in a large circle, creating a perimeter around the campsite. "And the fire will go in the middle of camp. Just because we are fire doesn't mean we should be on fire." Mason chuckled at his own joke.

Cole chuckled a bit as well.

Jeremy set the kindling down, as well as some rocks in a small circle. "Trevore, bring those sticks over here. We should start on a fire immediately. Harry, Mason, Rosa, continue working on the shelters. Christopher and Cole, bring the water we collected over here."

Trevore threw the sticks on kindling Jeremy was arranging and sighed. "Who made you the leader?"

"Nobody," Jeremy shrugged, "I'm just trying to help us all along before nightfall."

"Okay, because I wanted to help with the shelters."

"Go ahead. I can start on the fire. I did some research on survival before coming here." Jeremy got to work and sighed as he reflected on the guild that he had been assigned to work with.

The Sahra Guild

Contestants: Eleanor, Hansel, James, Jianne, Kairo, Laurie, Luna, Selena

The Sahra Guild arrived at their designated campsite next. Kairo stopped to read the sign. "The Sahra Guild, also known as the Desert Guild, lived among the desert often specializing in owning various trinkets and valuables. Many who came here hoped for trading in and purchasing collectable items. Many of whom lived here often became the most stolen from. Good luck in your competition!"

"Oh that's epic!" Selena commented. "This reminds me of Crios Cath!"

"Is that one of the former seasons?" Kairo questioned.

"Yeah, it's one of my faves!"

Confessional: Selena: The Sahra Guild

"They really need to make another season like Crios Cath! It was soo epic! Oh wait, I guess this is that season! Fuck yeah!"

End Confessional

Kairo spoke up. "Okay, everyone, we can get ourselves set up nicely and quickly if you help me help you." Kairo handed Hansel a stick. "Could you draw in the sand what you were thinking about for a shelter?"

"So it'll look a little something like this…" Hansel drew up a diagram. "We don't have much tension or friction here in the loose sands, so we'll have to rely on gravitation force, given it doesn't get too windy here. We can put all the tension on the poles, though, to give us a sense of being blocked out." Hansel finished drawing and explaining.

"Excellent! Get started right away! You can find yourself a little team to help you."

Confessional: Hansel: The Sahra Guild

"Aaand now I have to ask other people for help! Great… I wonder who would want to help a guy like me."

End Confessional

Hansel tried to set up the shelter by himself. Clearly, the tarp was difficult to balance on his own, and the wind did not want to help him.

Eleanor grabbed the other end of the tarp.

"Thank you." Hansel said.

"It looked like you could use some help." Eleanor held the piece still as Hansel put up the post as far as he could.

"Could you walk as far out as you can?"

Eleanor did just that. Hansel planted the posts down. Together, they managed to put the tarp over the roof.

"It would be nice if we could weave some leaves to give up some more coverage and support." Eleanor said.

Hansel nodded. "I'll let Kairo know we're headed out then."

Confessional: Eleanor: The Sahra Guild

"Something good about this season is that there aren't any idols hidden about. There's less distrust when it comes to other people leaving the site. But it does make me wonder if there are coins all throughout the island instead of just the desert. There has to be a way for us to get more coins. Some of those items in the shop were expensive."

End Confessional

James, Jianne, Laurie, Luna, and Kairo gathered around the fire that Kairo, indeed, made by rubbing two sticks together.

"I have to say, my man," Jianne patted Kairo on the back. "I'm impressed by the fire."

"It was nothing. We can talk about it later when everyone is here. Has anyone seen Selena?"

"She's napping." Luna checked her nails. "She said something about not sleeping at night."

Jianne shrugged. "Hey, she can get sleep however she wants. As long as we're all ready for the challenges, that's the most I can ask for. How's dinner coming along?"

"Oh, it's coming." Laurie stirred the pot some. "It'll be good, but hopefully we don't get tired of eating the same thing."

"It'll likely taste a bit different depending on who makes it." James nodded.

Hansel and Eleanor came back with tons of long grass.

"Where did you get that from?" Jianne asked.

"There's a delta down that way," Eleanor pointed, "according to the map. Hansel and I followed it to see what was there."

"We're going to weave this into our shelter for structural support." Hansel said.

"Allow me to help you this time." Kairo stood and helped the two with the weaving.

The Majraa Guild

Contestants: Amethyst, Braden, Declan, Katniss, Larissa, Vivian L., Vivian P.

Everyone sighed with relief when arriving at camp. Vivian Perez set down the bag of rice. "It's a good thing we didn't get too many heavy items."

"Yeah," Larissa set down the pot, "I wouldn't want anyone getting hurt before the first challenge. Anyways, I'll get started on a fire."

Declan looked upon the sign of their campsite. "The Majraa Guild, also known as the River Guild, lived nearby the river often housing most of the population of The Jazira. This river civilization hosted the main society, often where people grow up and branch out into one of the three other guilds. Those who chose to stay were often grown up to be the politicians of the time. The main guild, however, consisted of the main artisans crafting the essentials such as clothes, shoes, and other fabrics. Good luck in your competition."

Katniss returned, despite nobody noticing she left, with a haul of large branches. She pointed to Vivian Perez. "You and me make home."

"Uh, okay?" Vivian Perez went along with the shelter building.

Confessional: Vivian Perez: The Majraa Guild

"I don't even know why I went along with it. Building is something I'm not good at!"

End Confessional

Amethyst handed a note to Vivian Locke. "Let's go gather some water. Okay!" Vivian picked up the pot. "Amethyst and I are going to get some water."

"Sounds good." Larissa gave a thumbs up.

Confessional: Amethyst: The Majraa Guild (A Few Days Later)

"I know it was the isolation that helped me begin to speak up to everyone. I knew it was going to be hard, but I never thought it would be as hard as it was. It must be the added pressure from the cameras everywhere."

End Confessional

Katniss flexed at Declan. "You do hunt?"

Declan flexed back at her. "No, but I can certainly try!" Declan picked up the knife. "Braden, come along with me!"

"What? Me? I-I don't know if this is a good idea…"

"How about… hunting for more sticks!"

"... I wouldn't mind that…"

Declan nodded. "Okay, you can get the sticks, and I can try to hunt."

Confessional: Declan: The Majraa Guild

"I mean, my last name isn't 'Huntington' for no reason, right?"

End Confessional

The Kaniun Guild

Contestants: Drake, Evelyn, JT, Lizzy, Tony, Wendy, Winter

The Kaniun Guild made it to their campsite thanks to Winter's navigation skills.

Tony read out loud the sign. "The Kaniun Guild, also known as the Canyon Guild, lived here in the canyon often specializing in agriculture due to the expansive canyon. The Canyon, named Qatilat, was the heart of survival for people in The Jazira. However, many of whom lived here suffered from the predators of the Canyon, hence why the Canyon was named Qatilat, after danger. Good luck in your competition!"

"Okay," Winter stepped back, "now I'm afraid of our campsite."

Drake patted Winter's shoulder. "I'm sure we'll be fine. It's just the history of this place."

"And we have bear traps!" Wendy held up the bear traps. "Whatever predators come across us, we will eat first. Anyways, we should probably find some good open land or a cave."

JT set down the Bag of Bean and the Pot. "I like the idea of a cave. Less work for us, but maybe bad on the predators. We didn't really buy much for a shelter besides the Pillows and Blankets."

"Sounds good to me." Wendy said. "Winter, mind handin' me the map?"

Winter handed Wendy the map.

"JT and I will search for a cave, and I'll mark where we choose." Wendy and JT walked away with a few of the camp items.

"Winter and I will get some water." Tony announced.

"Oh, I guess I'm going then." Winter jogged to catch up to Tony.

Left at the campsite were Drake, Evelyn, and Lizzy.

Evelyn shrugged. "Well, I guess it'll be just the three of us until Wendy gets back."

"Or," Lizzy rolled her eyes, "we can follow them."

"You can follow them." Drake sat down by a rock. "I'm cool with chilling here until either JT or Wendy gets back."

"Okay." Lizzy gathered some of the pillows and blankets and walked away.

Evelyn approached Drake with a kindling. "Ever make a fire before?"

Drake nodded. "A few times."

The Next Day

Within the delta, there was a clearing with a table. Five contestants were seated at the table, each of them eyed each other, not knowing what was happening.

AN: Happy New Year everyone! I forgot to wish you last chapter, but it's what's in the present that matters. I really wanted to get (Part Two) out to you guys as soon as possible so you can have the complete chapter, so I'm glad I was able to do that. Now we have another game mechanic introduced, and there is still so much to uncover with this game (and will be introduced in the second episode). There are still a few more game mechanics to introduce, but I'll try to summarize as much as possible because there is a lot going on this season. So much that I regret not posting about them throughout my hiatus. But nothing to worry about. I will catch everyone up.

I want to thank you guys for leaving reviews too. I read them multiple times a day because they just make me so happy, so thank you.

EN: And we get more time with our thirty thieves! I hope you're enjoying them as much as we have! Now we have everyone (except Allen (don't worry he's still in the game, just stranded in the desert)) in their campsites with their guilds and we're starting to see some dynamics forming! Yo, Cole bought the mystery box! Man after my own heart, though I suppose I wouldn't have done it literally in front of everyone. I suppose time will tell both whether that was the right call, and also what's in that box!

I think, whenever a strategic resource is purchased from Da Shoppe, I'll write my thoughts about it to keep myself occupied in addition to thoughts on contestants as they're eliminated.

AN2: Aaand Doobop and I have a discord server (I mean, technically, it's his), but I have gotten the permission to put the link on my profile, so it's there now, and check us out. We're a happy lil community and we'd love to have you join us!

AN3: And, as always, thank you for reading!
