Abraham sat at the table looking at the multiple texts Victoria sent. Her begging him to reply to her texts. He wasn't even sure what to do with her. He didn't want anything serious with her.

He still loves Courtney and didn't want to even think about her with someone else. Nor did Abraham like the thought of her having a life without him.

He was going to do whatever it took to not have Courtney find out about this. Ever. Courtney already had suspicions of it and it took a lot of work and shit for Courtney to trust him again. Not to mention how long it took for her to actually decide if she wanted to try again with their marriage. Courtney was one of the best things to happen to him.

He swiped and deleted the messages from her and put his phone down. He needed to get their relationship stronger so if Victoria came to tell Courtney, she wouldn't believe it.

Good thing he had a trick up his sleeve. He got up and got ready to leave before heading out the door. He drove straight to the person he knew who would help. His mother.

He knocked on the door and waited a few moments and the door opened. His mom, Ariel smiled at the sight of him. She looked just like her son. Her long light brown hair, green eyes, thin body frame and she wasn't that tall.

Only difference between her was their eyes, their body(considering he's taller and muscular) and their skin tone. She was more tan while he was more lighter.

"Hi, Abraham! How are you!" She smiled before hugging her only son.

"Hi, mom. I got myself into a jam." He said sheepishly hugging her back before pulling away.

Her mom furrowed her eyes and looked behind him and saw Courtney wasn't there in the car.

"Did you screw up again?" His mom asked with a sigh.

"Yeah..."

She rolled her eyes and let Abraham in and he sat on the couch.

His mother frowned and sat down. "What happened? It was hard enough to find a therapist last time who was good at gaslighting ."

"I know I'm sorry. I got back with Victoria and everything was good until she confessed her feelings for me and wants me to leave Courtney. We work together and Courtney recently found out. She was sure I was seeing her but I convinced her I wasn't." He explained to his mom.

She glared at him before flicking his nose making him wince. " I told you if you were to cheat never stay with the same girl for too long!"

"Ow! I know! This time I made her sign a NDA...It's just I like the way Victoria makes me feel in bed. It seems like Courtney and my sex life fell out ever since the first time she found out. I couldn't help it. But now Victoria isn't leaving me alone as I asked, plus Courtney seems to be distant always working and going to see her friends-"

"Is she cheating on you?" His mom asked questioningly.

"Nope, I checked. Her phone is clear. Her card payments are out of the ordinary. And if she's not at work she's at home or with her friends." Abraham said confidently.

"I like Courtney. She's a smart girl. But smart girls like Courtney always cheat better than their husbands." Ariel, his mom warned.

He just shook his head. "Don't worry I would know that she's not a cheater. She's too much of a good girl for that. Besides, I know why she's mad. She's been trying to fix things but I've been kinda an ass and dismissive." He said hoping his mom could help.

She sighed once again. " iYiYi, you're lucky I love you and support you. I'll talk to her but you need to fix up your act. You need to pretend to be the guy you pretended to be when she fell in love with you. About Victoria, I have an idea for her but you need to get your trust up with Courtney first for this to work." His mother said with an evil glint in her eye and Abrahams's face mirrored it.

—————————————————————————

Courtney came home after her amazing time with Duncan feeling rejuvenated. She felt like she could take on the world including Abraham.

She walked in and realized nobody was home.

Maybe Duncan is like some weird good luck

She checked her watch and her friends were gonna be here anytime in a few. Courtney just went to the bedroom and stripped to her underwear. Unfortunately, she couldn't sleep nude like she would like to cause the last thing she wanted him to think was she was off her period.

Courtney got in her bed happy to have this alone time with herself before slowly falling asleep.

Soon she woke up to the feeling of something touching her forehead. She opened her eyes to see Abraham pressing a soft kiss on her forehead.

She couldn't help but feel annoyed that she got woke up and that her personal space was invaded.

"Hi sugar, I got you something." He said before setting two small jewelry boxes on the bed.

Courtney raised an eyebrow but sat up and opened the first one. It was an even bigger ring. The silver diamond-crusted band twinkled in the light and the huge diamond with even more diamonds around it shined brightly.

"O-oh my. I...Don't note what to say." She said taken aback. Courtney at the moment couldn't think of a reason why he would get her anything.

Abraham looked at her excitedly. " you like it? I thought that you should have a Bigger ring to show how much love I have for you."

"I love it." Courtney smiled honestly taking off her old ring and putting the new ring on, even though she found what he said full of shit. She got up and put it in her jewelry box before opening the other box he got her. Even though she despises her husband, she loved the new ring and she hated that she did.

She opened the other gift and looked at her gift and was surprised, then her eyes watered.

It was a heart locket and inside was a picture of Courtney and her big sister 3 years before she died.

"Oh my god, I love it." She gushed with tears rolling down her face. Her sister was a very sensitive topic for her and she always got emotional about it.

Abraham smiled and stood up. "I'm glad sugar let's get that necklace on." He said grabbing the necklace before standing dangerously close to Courtney's backside. Abraham gently moved her hair out of the way and kissed her neck softly sending goosebumps down her neck. Abraham thought this was a good sign while Courtney was trying not to cringe, the overwhelmingly emotional moment was now gone.

He put the necklace on her and stepped away.

"Why did you buy me these gifts?" She asked.

"Well I've been talking to my mom and she says I haven't been the best husband. I have a lot of work to do, however, this 25,000 is a start and it's only going to get better. I'm going to get us counseling and I'm gonna be here for you more. I'm gonna try new things and be more emotional with you. I'm serious about putting this effort in." Abraham said holding her hands in his before kissing both of them.

Courtney would've fallen for that line months ago but she saw right through him. She knew he was covering his tracks things must've backfired with Victoria or she was going to find something out. It was the same thing over and over with him. She isn't going to believe he's changed until she sees it with her own eyes. However, Courtney knew if he was to change she'd be long gone for that.

Thankfully the doorbell chimed through the house breaking the doubtful moment Courtney was having. "Crap, I gotta get dressed." She rushed before quickly jogging to the closet.

Abraham waited till she was gone before he sighed and plopped on the bed. This was going to be harder than he thought. The spark she used to have in her eyes for him was dull. For a split second, he saw it when she opened those gifts. He knew Courtney wasn't materialistic, buying gifts wasn't going to be enough. He needed to pull her heartstrings.

Courtney came back out with fitted khaki flared pants and a white fitted shirt with a matching khaki blazer. She grabbed her white strap heels before rushing to the door.

"Who is it!" She called out to buy time. Courtney barely had any time to put lipgloss on she realized before quickly putting on her shoes.

Courtney noticed there was no answer but she was rushing too much to think about it. She just assumed it was her friends and Duncan.

She finger-combed her hair and grabbed the door handle expecting to see Duncan and her friends. She took a breath prepared to face all of them and opened the door only for her face to fall. Instead of seeing her friends, she saw her neighbor Gretchen.

"Hello. Don't you look nice... I wonder who for." Gretchen smiled sarcastically. The smile seemed to make her wrinkles more prominent and it reminded her of the Grinch.

Courtney frowned. "Hi. And I dress for myself."

Gretchen gave her a look that made Courtney feel like she knew something Courtney didn't. "I just wanted to talk to your husband. Legal matters." She smiled coyly.

Courtney's face turned into a scowl but before she could say anything that was on her mind, she heard Abraham approaching them.

Courtney's face immediately turned into an annoyed smile. Abraham knew Courtney didn't like her, so it wouldn't be out of the ordinary.

"Legal matters? Well sure I have some free time before my wife's company comes over." Abraham said inviting her inside.

"Courtney's company? Which one she has a few people always come over." The older woman said faux sweetly as she walked in and sent her a sly glance.

"We'll I really don't think it's your business," Courtney said mimicking Gretchen's tone. She was silently fuming.

"Hmm, nice decoration. Duncan must've helped a lot when he came over that one time." Gretchen said faux innocently before sitting on the couch.

Abraham gave Courtney a confused look and Gretchen pretended not to see.

Courtney wanted to set that old bitch on fire. Her blood was boiling and yet her heart dropped in her stomach at Abe's reaction.

"Yeah no, I did the decorating. He only built the new bed frame and trashed out the old one, but did a fantastic job. Abraham saw it and loved it right babe?" Courtney said lying smoothly before looking at him. Courtney knew Abraham would believe her.

Abraham nodded with a smile. " Yeah he did a great job," he replied no longer getting confused. Courtney sent her a victorious smile and folded her arms at Gretchen challenging.

Gretchen put on a single smile before replying. "I bet he did. I bet Courtney loved what he did."

Courtney's eye twitched in anger before smiling sweetly. "Yeah, she loves the bed she's been wanting to change the bed frame for a long time. But back on track, so what can I help you with." Abraham asked sensing Courtney's annoyance.

"Can I speak to you in private? I need confidentiality for this question." The elderly lady asked.

"Of course. We can just go to my office." He said before leading her down the hall and entering the room together. Courtney instantly began to panic while also planning different ways to murder her without being caught.

Courtney saw the door still open She quietly tiptoed down the hallway and listened in.

"So I know of an affair going on and I want to know how the cases work for this type of thing work..."

"Well stepping into adultery that has no involvement with you in any way can be messy, are you sure you want to get involved?" Abraham asked.

"Of course. I don't mind getting my hands dirty." She answered and Courtney could hear a smile in Gretchen's tone.

Courtney clenched her jaw. That fucking old bitch.

"Can you also give me some advice about infidelity..."

Courtney knew now how dangerous this old cow was. She had to be extremely careful with her.

"Okay well, do you want to tell me more about-". Abraham then closed the door and retreated further into the room.

Courtney knew that Gretchen was playing checkers and right now she was backed into a corner. Now she's gonna really have to stay home with Abraham and make him believe that she was devoted and loyal.

So the cheating wife sat on the couch preparing for herself for any outcome when they left. Soon the door opened and Gretchen walked out beaming.

"Thank you for helping me! I'll definitely take everything you told me into consideration." The older lady said walking into the living room.

"Anytime. If you're looking for a shark lawyer, I'm your guy." Abraham called out to Gretchen as she walked towards the door.

Courtney didn't say anything to her, she was too busy not trying to take a fork from the kitchen and shove it in her eye.

"Thank you. And don't worry I won't be the one needing a lawyer." Gretchen chuckled before walking out the door letting it shut behind her.

Courtney seethed as she sat on the couch.

"Are you okay?" Abraham said behind her before walking over to sit down next to her.

"Yeah, I just hate that woman. She's such a fucking bitch." Courtney said annoyed.

"Oh come on Courtney, true she has...lack of a filter but that's old people for you," Abraham says.

"She's rude, selfish, arrogant, nosey, jealous, and manipulative." Courtney scowled.

Abraham sighs and pulls Courtney close to him.

Courtney wanted to pull away but now that Gretchen was around she has to give more than she wants.

So instead of getting up to pretend to go to the bathroom, she stayed and let him hold her.

"Well if you don't like her I don't." He says caressing her shoulder before kissing her forehead.

It was a moment of silence before Courtney sat up and looked at him.

"I have a question."

Abraham looked at Courtney silently telling her to proceed.

"What exactly did you and your mom talk about?" Courtney asked curiously.

Abraham opened his mouth to answer but the doorbell ringing stopped him.

"I'll get it," Courtney said before kissing his cheek and standing up.

She went to open the door and was happy it was her friends along with Duncan.

"Hi everyone go ahead and have a seat in the dining room and we can talk about the stuff there. I had Abraham order food for everyone, so help yourself." Courtney greeted everyone while leading them to the dining room.

Abraham gave everyone a flashy smile but didn't miss the dirty look Heather shot him.

Courtney and her husband locked hands and followed them. She felt kind of weird holding hands with her husband while the guy she was cheating on him with was right there.

But she knew Duncan wouldn't care. Or that's what she thought, she missed Duncan eyeing their hands being held and the different ring around her finger.

Shortly Courtney left to go get more water while Abraham went outside to have a phone call on the balcony.

Courtney went into the fridge and grabbed another jug of water. She desperately needed a break from playing the happy wife in front of them. Not to mention she'd have to pretend to work things out after they leave.

She heard footsteps and mentally prepared for it to be Abraham, but when she turned around it was Duncan. Her heart fluttered at the sight. She suppressed a smile and put on her facade.

"Oh, it's you. What do you want." She simply said folding her arms. Duncan smirked and just shrugged. "The one and only. I'm looking for the bathroom princess."

Goosebumps painted over her skin as she heard him call her that name. "It's uh d-down the hall to the right."

Duncan turned to go to the bathroom and she turned back around and let out a giddy smile.

"I think you should show me where it is," Duncan said smoothly but his eyes had a mischievous tone to them.

Courtney bit her lip and looked over into the doorway where Heather was bossing everyone around.

"Fine. Only because I want to be a good host." Courtney said walking down the dark hallway with Duncan in tow. They were on the other side of the apartment now far away from the others. Duncan opened the door and pulled Courtney inside before pushing her against the bathroom door making it shut.

"God you look so hot in that outfit." He whispered in her ear before kissing her ear and neck. Courtney felt like her body was being lit on fire. She let out a silent gasp and lifted a leg around his waist. Duncan pulled the leg she lifted around tighter pushing his hardening dick against her. Right when she was going to moan Duncan kissed her passionately.

She knew this was so risky and the worst place to do this, but he made her do things she'd never usually do. And she loved every second of it. Courtney wrapped her arms around his shoulders and grabbed his hair making him groan in her mouth. A familiar pounding from down south only got stronger and stronger. It hasn't even been 4 hours and Duncan made her feel like she was starving.

Soon he pulled away and winked at her. " I think you should get back out there for your hosting job" he teased.

Courtney blushed but fixed up her appearance. Duncan pulled her close gently caressing her lower back before and gave her one final kiss.

Courtney eagerly kissed back before pulling away to get back to the party.

Meanwhile, Abraham stood outside looking at his phone screen. It was Victoria.

He looked at the string of text messages she left before sighing and answering the phone.

"What do you want, I told you that it's off." He said annoyed.

"You had some lawyer contact me? Two can play that game, Abraham." Victoria snapped into the phone.

"You left me no choice. You threatened to break the NDA. This wasn't anything more than a simple affair." The unfaithful husband said in a hushed tone.

" you should've thought of that before making those promises you bastard!"

"Goodbye." He said before hanging up and blocking her number...again.

A/N: Uh oh what do You think is going to happen now. What's going on with Victoria,Abraham and Ariel? Will he succeed in getting her heart? And Duncan and Courtney are being risky. Will they pay for it in the long run?
