Chapter 2

Before long, Tony's hand had gone from cupping Angela's face to tracing the outline of her collarbone then moving down tentatively to right above the top button on the pajama top the creepy motel clerk brought for her to wear earlier in the evening.

Angela pulled back slightly from their passionate kisses to look into Tony's eyes and give a slight nod.

"You're sure?" he whispered, their lips mere inches apart, knowing that they were reaching the point of no return.

To answer him, Angela placed her lips on his jaw and began kissing down his jawline to his neck and finally to his wonderfully muscular chest.

"I'm sure if you are," she replied breathlessly looking up into his eyes.

"In that case…," Tony answered, his hands making quick work of the buttons until he was able to slide the top off her throwing it to the ground followed quickly by her white panties.

"As beautiful as I remember," Tony said, letting his eyes sweep over Angela's now naked body.

"You said you didn't see anything!" Angela said indignantly but with a twinkle in her eyes.

"Oh ay, ay oh, I didn't want to lose my job!" Tony replied as he leaned over and kissed her lips lightly. "But I remember everything. Every curve," he continued as he let his hand slide down Angela's arm, over her hip and then down her never-ending leg before bringing it back up to cup her face. "You were, are, so beautiful. I was shocked that you were hiding this amazing body under all those conservative clothes."

"Tony," Angela said her cheeks a bright shade of pink before turning the tables on him and reaching out to once again caress the hard planes of his chest.

"Well, you didn't leave much to the imagination considering all you had on were sweatpants that first night," she said with a giggle.

"You liked what you saw, huh?" Tony responded with a grin.

"I suppose I did then, and I do now," she replied in a low voice as she circled one of his nipples with her tongue before biting down softly.

"Angela," Tony breathed as her actions sent shivers running throughout his body.

The next thing she knew, he had her breast in his mouth while his fingers lightly brushed across her stomach before venturing lower.

Angela gasped and responded by lightly grasping his hard arousal and running her hand softly up and down eliciting a guttural moan from Tony.

They let their hands and mouths explore each other's bodies thoroughly before Tony moved so that he was on top of her. Leaning in for one more kiss, he softly whispered, "Ingrid still has that extra pair of lips."

Angela giggled again and then moaned as he pushed inside of her. She felt incredibly good around him, and he felt incredibly good inside of her.

It didn't take long for them to both completely unravel before slowly drifting back to reality together breathing heavily.

"I told you that you would remember it," Tony said reaching over to pull her on top of his bare chest.

"And so would you," Angela replied again in that deep-throated yet sexy voice.

Tony kissed her forehead before pulling the sheet up over their naked and exhausted bodies.

"Tony, we probably should…," Angela started to say before Tony placed a finger over her lips.

"I know and we will. Tomorrow. Tonight belongs to Anthony and Ingrid," he said as he lightly stroked her bare back causing Angela to drift off into a satiated sleep and he quickly followed…

"Angela, Angela," Tony said placing butterfly kisses all over her face trying to rouse her from her deep sleep. "It's morning. We need to get moving and get back to camp."

"Mmm…it's so warm and peaceful here," Angela mumbled as she opened her eyes to see Tony, his head propped up by his elbow, looking down at her with a satisfied grin on his face.

"I'm surprised you're awake considering we didn't exactly get a lot of sleep last night," Angela said teasingly as she thought back to the two additional times they had made love during the night. Each time more passionate than the time before.

"Madonna-mi, trust me, I would like nothing more than to stay here in bed with you all day, but the kids are going to be worried, and I can already hear what your mother is going to say."

"You're right, you're right," Angela said reluctantly. "Why don't we take turns showering and then we can talk?"

A half an hour later, both freshly showered and wearing their now dry clothes from yesterday, they sat on the bed facing each other with their legs crossed; neither one sure exactly how to start this conversation.

Angela decided to just bite the bullet and say what she was thinking.

"Tony, last night was wonderful especially after finding out we were each other's first kiss. I think deep down we both knew that this would happen at some point, especially with our discussion in the kitchen after my birthday and then again last night."

"But," she continued taking a deep breath, "I value our friendship so much and can't imagine ever losing it if things didn't work out for some reason. Plus, we're raising two young children together, and I know after everything they both have been though with losing a parent one way or another, we wouldn't want to ever put them through that again. You've become Jonathan's surrogate dad just like I feel I've become Sam's surrogate mother."

"You're right, Angela. I don't regret last night at all, but maybe that's all it's supposed to be for right now. I feel like Sam and me are right where we're supposed to be."

"And," Tony continued averting his gaze away from her intense brown eyes, "I'm your housekeeper. We don't need to provide any more fuel to the neighborhood gossips."

"Tony," Angela said softly placing her finger under his chin to raise his gaze to hers. "I wouldn't care what you did, but yes, you working for me does present some obstacles, least of which is whatever the community busybodies think. I think though that we're both saying the same thing. That this was a special night that we'll both cherish for the foreseeable future while we continue to build our friendship and be the best co-parents to our two amazing children."

"I agree, Angela," Tony responded reaching over to squeeze her hand. "I think there's more to our story, especially in light of what we found out this weekend, but we shouldn't start skipping chapters now."

"Exactly," Angela said squeezing back. With that, Tony stood up and pulled her into a quick embrace before they walked out the door of the seedy motel room that would now hold a special place in both of their memories forever.

And as the days and weeks went by, they were able to slip back into their normal routine with maybe a little more flirtation than before. Once in a while, they would catch each other's eye, when no one else was looking, and give each other that secret look they had perfected over the last year acknowledging that keeping their hands off each other was difficult but necessary.

A lot had happened in the last few weeks, first with celebrating Sam's 13th birthday (Tony was still irked at himself that he'd let his jealousy show when they were discussing what night to have Sam's surprise slumber party, and Angela let it slip that she had a date on that Friday night. But, he supposed that was the way it was going to be whenever either one of them went out with someone. He shuddered to think what would happen if either of them became serious with anyone but couldn't see that actually happening anytime soon.).

And then Tony had stepped in it by basically forcing Mona to admit that she'd had an affair while she was married to Angela's father. He followed up that faux pas by setting Angela up with his friend Wally which he initially thought was a great way to help Wally get some self-esteem back; never thinking in a million years that Angela and then Mona would actually be interested in the guy! The fall of 1985 was becoming busier and busier until the day everything changed….

Angela woke up that morning annoyed to find that the headache she'd gone to bed with the night before was there to greet her. In addition, her stomach was doing flip-flops while that pain in her lower back was a reminder that she wasn't getting any younger. Forcing herself to get up, she dragged herself through her morning routine before coming downstairs to the kitchen where the smell of the eggs that Tony had made for the kids immediately assaulted her senses after she pushed through the kitchen door.

"Mom, you don't look so good," Jonathan said looking up after she entered the kitchen.

"Yeah, Angela, you kinda look like you're going to barf," Sam added not so helpfully.

"The kids are right, Angela," Tony said turning away from the stove to get a good look at her. "Are you feeling ok?"

"Actually, no," Angela said with a sigh. "I think it might be the stomach flu, but I was going to try and push through it. There's a lot going on at the agency today."

"Ay-oy, oh-ay, I don't think that's a good idea looking the way you do. And, you don't want to get anyone else sick including the kids. Why don't you go back to bed, and I'll bring up some tea and crackers in a bit?" Tony said, a concerned look on his face.

Angela wanted to push back but truthfully, she was feeling worse by the minute, and she certainly didn't want to infect other people. She nodded her head before gratefully heading back to her bedroom.

Once she had stripped off her work clothes in favor of one of her favorite cozy nightgowns and crawled back into bed, the nausea seemed to subside a little. "What a time to be sick," she thought to herself. She couldn't remember the last time she'd had the stomach flu. In fact, the only other time she remembered feeling like this was when…Angela's eyes grew wide as she sat straight up in bed taking a deep breath to calm her nerves. It couldn't be, could it?

Just then, she heard a knock on her bedroom door followed by Tony calling her name softly…
