The Specter Family Chronicles
Chapter Twenty-Three: Mike and Alex's Big Day in Court
January 27th, 2018
Pearson, Specter, Litt
Manhattan, New York
Since they had been back in New York after returning from Virginia, Mike had been doing nothing but working. Some nights he would fall asleep in Harvey's office, on the couch, and when his boyfriend came in in the morning, he would wake the young man, hand him the fresh suit that he had brought along with him and tell Mike to change before everyone gets here. There is a shower in the partner's bathroom that he sneaks into and is ready to go before anyone else can guess. But this morning, the day of their big case, Mike was a nervous wreck. He was pacing back and forth reading briefs that he and Alex had spent the last three days perfecting. Harvey was watching his boyfriend as he ate his cereal. Mike had been working so hard on this case that he'd barely seen or held his boyfriend. He knows the only way that Mike is going to get through this, is if he calms himself down. Harvey put his bowl down on the bench, and walked around to Mike, grabbing his arms, and kissing him. He stayed like that until he felt Mike relax into his body, then he pulled away, placing both hands either side of Mike's face, telling him to 'relax and eat something'. The young man nodded, thanking his boyfriend, who just shrugged, and went onto tell Mike a story about his first ever big solo case. Harvey and Mike left the condo together, Mike held onto Harvey's hand the entire way to the office, almost as if the man would suddenly disappear. When they got to the firm, Mike hesitated, but let go as they reached Harvey's office. Alex was waiting for him, and they headed into the conference room to put together some last-minute details. Their last two court room forays didn't end up with them in the best position to win. Jessica has already counted them out. Mike is going to prove that they can do this. At eight thirty, Alex and Mike leave for the courthouse, with most of their friends wishing them good luck. Donna hugged Mike as he entered the elevator and told him to call when he's done. Harvey had wanted to be there, to watch Mike in all his glory, but he and Jessica have a case of their own that needs their attention, and he just couldn't pull himself away from it. Rachel had promised to give them the movie length version of what goes on, so they don't feel like they missed out. Once Alex and Mike are in the town car, they begin discussing their strategy.
Harvey walked into his meeting with Jessica and was surprised to see both Tanner and Scottie sitting at their conference table. Tanner was wearing a smile that Harvey really wanted to punch off his face. Dana just sent him a small smile, and a slight nod, which Harvey returned, then took a seat. Louis appeared moments later with a box, slamming it onto the table, before sitting down on the other side of Jessica. Throughout the entire meeting, all Harvey could think about was Mike and Alex's case. He would rather be there than here. Donna was buzzing around the conference room until she was called away by Norma. He's not sure how long they were in that meeting for, but when they exited the room, with the knowledge that they had just lost Vanderstrom to Scottie and Tanner… there was a thickness in the air. Jessica was pissed, it was radiating off her. Harvey could feel it. But it was probably better that Vanderstrom was out of their way. Less likely for the CIA and the FBI to stumble onto things they're better off not knowing. The Managing Partner didn't say a word, just turned and went back to her office, and if she' had a door that would've slammed, she'd have done that. Louis and Harvey awkwardly stood in front of the conference room, waiting until Tweedle Dumb and Tweedle Dumber were out of the office before they turned to one another and began discussing what would have prompted Vanderstrom to leave the firm. He brings in most of their year's billings. Louis suggested that maybe it was because Alex and Mike hadn't won their case, and because Vanderstrom is a holdings company of Calder and Co, they decided to leave the firm. Harvey had thought of that, but he didn't want to believe that Mike had lost. They had put so much time and work into it, everything they had done for that case… But Louis might have a point. If Calder and Co were to break off from Vanderstrom, they could be bigger… bigger than the parent company, and they would bring in three times more than Vanderstrom and its subsidiaries. They had been in that meeting for three hours. When Harvey got back to his office, Donna just looked at him, her face was pained, but her eye twitched. He didn't say anything, just going back over to his desk. He was about to ask her to do something when he heard shouting coming from the hallway, and when he turned around, Mike and Alex were standing right near the door, as if to make a quick escape whilst Jessica was storming towards them.
'HOW COULD YOU? HOW COULD THE TWO OF YOU DO THIS?' Jessica shouted, but she so just wanted to jump for joy.
'Miss Pearson…' Alex began to say, but stopped when Jessica just raised her hand, Harvey was about to stand up, say something, but then Jessica continued
'How could the two of you walk into that courtroom and win this case? I mean, it's bad enough that you won the first time, but then to win this case. How. Could. You?' Jessica said, and Harvey just looked at her, confused, Mike was smirking at him and just punctuated the confused silence with
'We won Harvey, and Calder is signing with the firm, without Vanderstrom. WE WON!' Mike shouted, and he and Alex hi-fived whilst it sunk into the other occupants of the room that this had happened.
Mike and Alex had probably been hugged by or had shaken hands with nearly everyone at the firm as the day progressed. Harvey found out that Jessica had been the one to suggest she "pretend to be mad", so that she could put on her little 'one woman show'. It had taken a couple of minutes, but once it had sunk in, Mike's words that they had 'won', he was immediately out of his seat. He hugged Alex, and then he hugged Mike, picking him up and spinning him around, causing the young man to squeak from surprise, then he was being kissed, and Harvey was whispering dirty things that he was going to do in his ear, and now they're signing paperwork so that Calder can become a client of the firm. Vanderstrom had left them, as one of the terms of the contract that Mike had drawn up, on the count that they win, Calder and Co would become its own company, no longer owned by Vanderstrom. Meaning that they couldn't have the two of them on the same ticket, and because Calder brings in more billings, he was obviously the bigger fish. The news had the firm buzzing. Mike, a Senior Associate, had won one of the biggest cases of the year, and had reeled in one of their biggest clients, all without basically blinking an eye. Jessica was glad that she had listened to Harvey on this one: the kid is good to have around. After the day was done, Jessica let Mike, and Alex (and Harvey) leave early, telling them all to "celebrate, but not too hard". Mike chuckled and took Harvey's hand as they got in the elevator. Alex was telling Harvey all about how Mike did it. Mike was looking down, but Harvey could tell that he was blushing. Alex had mentioned something about Mike "Legally Blonde-ing" the shit out of their case, and Harvey raised an eyebrow at his boyfriend, who blushed harder (if that was possible) and just held onto his hand tighter. Once they had reached the lobby, Alex went off to get his car, and Harvey and Mike made their way outside to where Ray was waiting for them. Mike didn't say anything in the car, nor when they got to the lobby of their building, or in the elevator up to the penthouse. He didn't speak when they walked over the threshold into the condo, or as they got changed. It was only when he had collapsed on the sofa, curled up to Harvey, that Mike said the first words he'd probably spoken for the last half hour. He just told Harvey that he 'loves him'. Alex had been singing his praises, and Mike had been humble, told Jessica that it was 'more Alex than him'. But Harvey knows why, and he knows that Jessica knows why. It's the unfortunate truth.
To celebrate the win, Harvey had told Mike that he could choose what he wanted to do, and what he wanted to eat. Not that it's different from any other night, but the Associate was bouncing on the balls of his feet when Harvey told him that and had a smirk on his face. Harvey didn't know what to expect. But he should have known what he was getting himself into. Now, he's naked. It's not like he minds being naked, if he had his way, he would have Mike walk around the Condo naked all the time, but he knows that is ridiculous, especially given the number of times the rest of their "friends" seem to just show up unannounced. They like that they can be like this with one another. His hands have been tied to the headboard, and Mike is standing at the foot of their bed, a smirk on his face. His shirt is unbuttoned but has not been removed. Harvey feels violated, and tells this to Mike, who just raises an eyebrow and stalks out of the bedroom. Harvey doesn't know how long he's been lying here, but when Mike comes back into the room, he's carrying something… Harvey can't see what it is. They like to play games like this. Okay, maybe they're not games… maybe they're kinks… and most of them are probably Harvey's, but Mike has shown to be just as kinky, if not more so, than he is. That is why when Mike climbs back onto the bed, and deposits his items beside him, Harvey can't help the smile that ends up on his face, seeing the confidence that his boyfriend has to do something like this with him. Excruciatingly slowly, Mike beings removing his clothes. Harvey is already hard; he just wants Mike to take him already. He's leaking pre-cum, and if Mike wants him to cum just like this… well he isn't far away from it. Mike gets up on his knees, and pulls his pants off, leaving him shirtless, but in underwear… Harvey can tell that he's hard as well. Mike straddles his boyfriend's waist, grinding his still clothed arse over Harvey's hard member, and leans down to kiss him. Harvey melts into the kiss. He doesn't even notice that Mike is fingering him, until he feels the finger inside of him. He gasps as Mike enters a second shortly after, scissoring. Harvey's eyes roll back, and he arches off the bed, throwing his head back, neck taut, panting. Mike is kissing, and licking and biting every inch of his skin, then he feels something cold on the tip of his stick and looks down to see that Mike had brought whipped cream with him and was currently licking it off of Harvey's cock. For some reason, that just made it more erotic. The cool from the cream, and the warmth of Mike's mouth… he can usually last pretty well but if Mike keeps this up… and the fingers…. He might not last as long as he usually does… he wants Mike inside of him.
'Patience Harvey. I'm hungry for my desert,' Mike whispered in his ear, he figured he must have said that aloud.
'Nnnghhh… fuck Mike. What do I get for dessert?' He asked through his panting and moaning, Mike removed his underwear and slicked himself up.
'Me… inside of you. Is that okay?' Mike asked, and Harvey nodded so fast he thought his head might come off… then Mike sprayed whipped cream in his mouth, kissed him, and thrust into him at the same time.
'Oh… God… you are fucking gorgeous Mike. Yes… Yes…. Ah…,' Harvey spouted out nonsensical words, whilst Mike just fucked him into the mattress.

The Condo
Manhattan, New York
When Harvey woke in the morning, he was curled up to Mike, who was still sleeping beside him. The sun was coming through the crack in the curtains and gave Mike such a beautiful glow. Harvey took a moment just to stare at his boyfriend, smiling as he caressed his face, then placed a kiss to his temple, before he moved to pull on a pair of Mike's sweatpants, and a shirt. It's Saturday. They don't have work today, and now that Mike's case is over, they finally have time to just be together, and Harvey is going to take advantage of finally having that time with his boyfriend. He finally knows what Mike feels every time he busies himself with work so much that he doesn't even have time to kiss Mike before he's out the door, and as much as he didn't want to get up, his hunger won out. He was almost done making pancakes, when Mike came into the kitchen, rubbing his eyes, still sleep riddled, sweatpants hanging low on those delicious hips that Harvey loves to grip whenever Mike is…. He stopped his train of thought, and Mike looked at him as if he'd just said something weird. Oh god please tell me I didn't say that aloud? Harvey asked himself mentally. Mike walked around to the other side of the counter, pressed a soft kiss to his cheek, and whispered that he 'love's Harvey's hips as well', before smacking his arse, and going over to the fridge to grab juice for their breakfast. He chuckled when Harvey groaned and turned to face him, pulling Mike into him, and telling him that he's proud of him, for the case and all that stuff. Mike just smiled and kissed him again. They took their plates of pancakes into the living room and snuggled up on the couch. Harvey flicked the TV onto some random channel, which was currently playing re-runs of Mrs. Browns Boys. He and Mike, for some reason, love this show. The first time they had seen it, they couldn't stop laughing. It still brings them the same amount of laughter. Mike had lamented that one day he would love to travel to London, or just any other country. Harvey had been thinking about their honeymoon and had run some ideas past his sister… and okay. He hasn't proposed yet, so he doesn't even know if Mike will say yes (of course he will), but he's been planning this for almost three months now. Their anniversary is two days before Valentine's Day. It's their first one together ever, and Harvey, who never really put that much stock into the holiday before now, wanted to make it special.
Once they had finished breakfast, Mike cleaned up, and then went to shower. When both he and Harvey were showered and dressed, they resumed their places on the sofa, and put on a movie. If there was one thing, they both know, it's that today, they're not doing any work. If Mike can help it, he isn't doing any for the next week. Alex and his wife Mira had invited them over for dinner on Tuesday night, to celebrate the win, and Harvey had jumped at the chance. Alex is one of the only other lawyers at the firm that he would even consider spending time with outside of it. Alex is the kind of guy you want on your side if you were to ever challenge Jessica for Managing Partner… not that that thought has crossed Harvey's mind… *wink*. Mike's still damp hair was cool on Harvey's shoulder where his boyfriend's head was resting. He ran his hands through the damp locks, then up and down Mike's sides, making him shudder, then rested his hand on Mike's waist, pulling him close. They had started watching one of Donna's movies that she had left here, but when that was finished, they called up their Netflix cue, and went back to catching up on the episodes of their shows that they had missed whilst they were in Greystone. Mike loves these moments. Where he can just be with Harvey, outside of his suit, and outside of the firm. He can close his eyes and imagine what his life in the future will be like with Harvey, and how they're going to have more adventures together, and he imagines what their future children will look like, and okay… he's stretching a bit, but still. It's a nice image to wake up to and go to sleep too. Mike was lightly dozing; it was about ten thirty am when the doorbell rang. Harvey groaned, apologising to Mike, and pressing a kiss to his temple when he had to get up to answer the door. The young man just curled himself around a pillow that smelt like Harvey and closed his eyes again. He didn't hear Harvey talking to anyone, until his ears were met with a voice that grated on their nerves: Travis Tanner. What the fuck is this douche doing here, and why did Harvey let him in? Mike stood up and walked around to the other side of the couch, crossing his arms, and doing his best puppy glare at the man his boyfriend despised. Whatever Tanner is doing here, it can't be good, and the apartment feels tainted now that Tanner has stepped inside of it.
'Ah, just the young man I wanted to see. Mike, I heard about your extraordinary win yesterday. Congratulations,' Tanner said, ignoring Harvey's glare, and Mike's scoff.
'Yeah, thanks for taking Vanderstrom off our hands. Calder signed with Harvey after the trial, and thanks to you he was free to take him on,' Mike said, and Harvey beamed with pride… and maybe some lust.
'Calder would be stupid to sign with PSL. Vanderstrom said that they were the parent company?' Tanner replied, frowning in confusion.
'They were, up until yesterday afternoon when Calder and Co became its own company, splitting from Vanderstrom. By the way, Calder brings in more billables than Vanderstrom. Seems like Vanders was only big because of Calder. So, guess we win again. Congrats with your sinking ship,' Harvey replied, showing Tanner to the door, smiling as he pushed the man outside, then closed it in his face, he turned to kiss Mike.
After the run in with Tanner, Mike and Harvey settled back down into their lazy day. Mike had gone to make popcorn, and Harvey had grabbed some other snacks for them, as well as some beers. Mike was explaining what Alex meant by 'Legally Blonded', and Harvey chuckled and shook his head. When Mike heard the opening lines to the Legally Blonde movie begin to play on the TV, he glared at Harvey, whilst the other lawyer just said that he wanted to 'imagine it was Mike', even though the young lawyer declared that Elle Woods would always be a better lawyer than he could ever dream to be, and she is much more stylish. He said this as he snuggled back up to his boyfriend, holding the bowl of popcorn. Harvey agreed with the stylish comment, Mike whacked his chest but was smiling. He told Mike that because Elle Wood is a "Fictional" lawyer, it doesn't count, therefore Mike is better. To which Mike replied that he is also, technically, a "fictional" lawyer. Harvey just looked at him, then they burst out laughing. If anyone knew that they were sitting in their apartment watching Legally Blonde on a Saturday afternoon, Harvey would probably die of embarrassment, not that he has anything against the movie, just that… well he does have a reputation to uphold. Although why anyone would care about his TV habits in the first place baffles him. Mike was snuggled into him, they were eating junk food and drinking beers, and watching crappy (although Harvey liked this film which he would never admit) TV. It was almost four pm by the time they got through the end of their Netflix roll. The sun was beginning to set, and the cold was beginning to creep in. Harvey wrapped a blanket around them, and pressed a kiss to Mike's head, moving to deepen it when the man looked up at him. He pushed his boyfriend back until he was straddling his waist, and they made out for a while, grinding their hips together, trying to get that sweet friction. Mike was making the most seductive noises in the back of this throat, and it was almost going to be a situation, until the doorbell rang again. Both men groaned, and Mike sat up as Harvey got off of him, heading back over to the foyer, and yanking the door open again. This time, it was Donna, holding a bottle of wine and a bag of what he assumed were clothes. He asked the woman if she ever spent time at her own apartment, to which she scoffed, said that 'she does', and entered the condo as if she owned the place. Mike greeted Donna with a hug, whilst Harvey declared that he wanted 'Chinese' for dinner and was placing an order. Donna took her bag to the guest room, and opened the wine, grabbing two glasses. She filled them both, handed one to Mike, then made a toast to him, before basically sculling the whole thing. Mike raised an eyebrow, but Donna just shook her head, and walked into the lounge.
They usually don't mind when Donna comes to stay with them, but Harvey was annoyed that she hadn't texted beforehand. Donna smirked, asking if she had 'interrupted something', getting her answer when Mike blushed, and snuggled back down into the blanket on the couch, whilst Harvey prepared things for dinner. After their food had arrived, they sat down to eat it, and Donna requested that they watch something gory, something with murdering and blood in it. The two lawyers shared a look, then put on The Walking Dead. Donna excitedly agreed, wrapping herself in a blanket and snuggling into the armchair, whilst Mike just wanted Harvey to take him again. About halfway through the first season, it was eight o'clock. Mike decided that he was bored of watching TV, and whispered something in Harvey's ear, just as he got a hand around his boyfriend's dick, telling him that he must 'be quiet', because Donna is here. Harvey sent him a look, one that he would usually run away from at work, but instead he just smirked. He moved his hand up and down, thumb running over the slit, and he felt Harvey squeeze his hip, as if to stop himself from making any noise. He was doing rather well, kept his focus on the TV (he was more thinking about all the dirty things he wanted to do to Mike instead of what was happening, but sure. He was focused), and was for the most part, succeeding in not releasing any of the moans that he so desperately wanted to… until he felt Mike's fingers trace his hole. He jumped slightly, alerting Donna to something, but she just thought it was because he was afraid and spent the next five minutes arguing with him about it, whilst Mike just drove his finger in and out, acting as if he was just watching TV and not finger fucking his boyfriend. Donna eventually turned her attention back to the screen, and Harvey sent a glare to Mike, who just winked and inserted the second finger, leaning over to kiss Harvey to prevent another scene from before. It was so good, Harvey wanted to throw his head back, let Mike have his way with him, and he's so close to the edge. He just wants to let go. He subtly nodded to Mike, who began hammering his prostate with his fingers. Harvey felt himself cum, not losing eye contact with Mike, who just winked at him, finishing him off, before the two settled back down to watch the TV. Harvey grumbled that he 'needs to change' and got up to go to the bedroom. Mike just chuckled.
'So, why the gory show Donna? Something happen between you and Jake?' Harvey asked when he returned, and if Donna noticed that he was wearing different pants, she didn't say anything.
'He left for China this morning, on a "business trip". We argued because he wouldn't take me, but all his colleagues were taking their wives or girlfriends,' Donna said, cheering when someone else was stabbed, Mike looked over at Harvey and whispered 'help'.
'You don't think it's a legit business trip? I can check it out if you want me to Donna,' Harvey said, feeling protective of his friend.
'Thanks Harvey, but I'm trying this new thing where I trust people. However, if he calls me tomorrow and he doesn't sound like he's in China, we'll go ham, okay? Oh, and Harvey? Nice pants are they Mikes?' she asked, and Harvey blushed, whilst Mike just chuckled earning a glare from Harvey, he just kissed him.

He had made the mistake of letting Donna in on the knowledge that he's going to propose to Mike in March. After she had spent the first five minutes screaming (literally) with excitement, she was finally calm enough to listen to Harvey's plans, that he and Helena had been going back and forth on. She also demanded to be added to the 'Wedding Planning Committee', which when Helena heard the name, immediately got on board with. Harvey groaned, knowing that this was going to spiral before he'd even had the chance to do anything about it. Donna asked him if he'd gotten the ring, to which he said yes, that he was hiding it somewhere Mike wouldn't find it. Donna was so excited that when Mike entered Harvey's office that morning to start the day, she was awkwardly trying to make a conversation, and ended up saying something stupid, before literally running out of the office. Harvey had his head in his hands, and when Mike asked him if he was okay, he was tempted to just say "no Mike I just told my secretary, who is like sister to me, that I'm going to ask you to marry me and now she's acting like an idiot around you, because she has to keep it a secret from you for two months, but how was your morning" instead he just groaned and Mike handed him a file, a glass of water and some painkillers, before kissing his forehead and stating that he'll be 'in cubicle town' if he needs anything. Harvey chuckled at the last part of Mike's sentence, grabbed the pain killers and water, and took them, before opening the file that his associate had given him. Calder is closed for now, but he does have a meeting with the man next week, just to tie up loose ends. Mike's handling of the case was so well done, that it's being talked about in the papers… only Mike's name isn't anywhere near it, it's all Alex. Whilst Alex is always talking about how Mike was the one who helped, they're more interested in Alex, and how Alex handled the case, and whilst Mike is handling it like a pro, Harvey knows that it hurts his boyfriend to not be able to stand in the limelight and take that credit. Alex doesn't know about Mike… Harvey was tempted to tell him, but Mike begged him not too. He figured that Alex was his only other 'real' lawyer friend here, and he doesn't want to lose that. A little after nine, Harvey got a call from Helena, apparently, she had heard from Donna again. This is going to be a long day.
Mike had been back and forth between his desk, the file room, and Harvey's office. They have started doing inventory on their past cases, and whilst they have been digitised, they still need to go through the files and find which ones they don't need to keep anymore. When Harvey entered the conference room, he was almost hit in the face by boxes. Buried somewhere in the room was his boyfriend, and when he finally found him, he made Mike stop working and eat lunch. He had gone down to the hot dog guy and gotten them food and something to drink, because Rachel had mentioned that Mike had skipped his lunch, and he knows that isn't good for someone with epilepsy, to have nothing in their system. Whilst they ate, they worked in silence. Every now and then Mike would ask a question, Harvey would answer it, and another pile would be created. By the time they had finished their lunch, Harvey had removed his jacket, loosened his tie, and was standing over the table beside Mike, flicking through files. It was like he was back to being an associate again, but he didn't mind it. It was something different. Jessica stopped by at two-thirty to remind him of their three o'clock meeting, and was shocked to find him working beside Mike, considering Harvey's usual stance on 'meagre firm related things', but she supposed that it would be his only chance to work with Mike today. Donna had been acting really strange around Mike all day, and when the associate had brought it up with Harvey, he just told him that it was probably some 'girl thing', and that they should go back to focusing 'on the work'. Something is going on. Molly had called Harvey, asking if what Helena had told her was true, and whilst he heard his sister giggling in the background, Harvey made them swear that they wouldn't tell anyone else. Mike had been so caught up in the work that he hadn't even noticed that it was almost the end of the day, until Rachel came by the conference room carrying her jacket, and bag and looked at him like he had grown three heads. She asked if he was going home with Harvey, and Mike looked around, noticing that it was dark outside, and his watch read that it was after ten pm. Mike thought about leaving, thought about going home, crawling into bed beside his boyfriend and having a goodnight sleep, but he had to keep going. The more he gets done now, the less he'll have to do tomorrow. Or so this was his thinking, until he was literally dragged out of the room by Donna and wasn't released until he was in the back of the town car. Mike entered the condo and was met at the door by Harvey.
'Donna text you,' Mike said tiredly, he didn't have the strength to argue.
'Yes. I know that you think you need to prove something Mike, but you don't. You won that case; you brought over Calder. Jessica isn't going to fire you. You're safe, we're safe Mike. We need to relax now,' Harvey said, as he undressed his boyfriend for bed.
'I know that. I just… you know how my mind works Harvey. I just have to keep myself busy, especially with everything going on and you, Donna and Molly all being weird… I just… needed something to distract me,' Mike replied, climbing into bed, and curling up to his boyfriend, sighing in content.
'We're not acting weird…' Harvey said, frowning but Mike had already fallen asleep.

Alex and Mira's House
Brooklyn, New York
They had just finished dinner at Alex and Mira's, and were now sitting in their Den, having some drinks, and just chatting. Alex was recounting the time when he and another associate played a prank on Louis. Mira whacked her husbands' shoulder, but he just laughed, and Mike had to chuckle along. Harvey had taken Alex up on his offer to have them over and promised that they would return the favour sometime soon. He had also mentioned to Alex that he was planning something special for Mike on Valentine's Day, and whilst he hadn't mentioned getting engaged, when Alex said it like he was guessing, Harvey couldn't help but explain his plan. With another person in the know, Alex promised that it would be 'one hundred percent safe with him… and Mira'. Harvey rolled his eyes but was smirking at the same time. Add another two people to the list who wanted to act weird around Mike. Donna was still trying to get out full sentences to the puppy, who had given up on trying to figure out what was going on. He just put it down to 'lady business' and didn't say anything else about it. Lily had called him early today and had a chat to him, and Richard had invited Mike to join him and the guys for their 'father/son golf day', to which Harvey was excited to have Mike with him, because he finds real Golf rather boring, but Mini-Golf… he finds that fun. Richard was excited that Mike would be along as well. Mira asked Mike about his family, and he told them all about them, not mentioning that they weren't here, and he elbowed Harvey when he went to say something to the contrary. They had flicked the TV on, just for some background noise, but the story about the case came on again, and Alex grumbled that they never mentioned that it was Mike, that they only talk about him, and apologised profusely to Mike for it. The young lawyer just told him that it was fine, Jessica promoting the firm's image, and they needed an "experienced lawyer" spearheading the campaign rather than some lowly associate. He really just wanted Alex and Mira to drop the subject, and luckily, they did. Vanders was also on TV, he had been interviewed as he came out of court, having lost a case that Tanner was apparently handling. Mike couldn't help but chuckle, earning the raised eyebrows of all the other occupants of the room. He just shrugged and mumbled 'no regrets' under his breath.
Harvey and Mike didn't leave Alex and Mira's until well after eleven pm. Mike had never thought that he would have another friend at the firm, especially because most of the associates are idiots, and for some reason they still hate him, even more so now that they know about his relationship with Harvey, which Kelly claims she 'didn't leak'. Ken was probably the one who leaked it and considering that he had almost tried to kill Mike back in Greystone, it isn't surprising. He's always sure to carry to pens on him just in case Ken tries to throw out one. Alex had made them leftovers to take home and had given Harvey a bottle of his favourite scotch, with Mike was surprised about. He didn't think that Alex knew about that, but apparently, they've had drinks before. Mira was determined to fatten Mike up, because she thought he was 'too skinny', and he'd laughed along, but something had struck a chord in the back of his mind, and when he was in the bathroom washing his face, the scars on the sides of his hips caught his attention, and he found himself remembering something… then he was vomiting in the toilet. His head was spinning, he was trying to close his eyes, but he'd rested his head on the cool tiles of the bathroom floor to try and ward off the nausea. Harvey was going through the condo flicking off lights, and tidying things up, but when he found Mike in the bathroom, he was terrified that something had happened to his boyfriend. Mike just muttered something about 'feeling dizzy', then proceeded to throw up in the toilet again, whilst Harvey just held him. He didn't want the thoughts in his mind. He didn't want them to come back and haunt him anymore. He couldn't see the image clearly though, whatever it was, was blurry in his mind, which isn't something he's used to, having an eidetic memory and such. He had taken his medication, he had eaten something, he had been drinking water. Harvey holds onto him, as Mike just rocks back and forth on their bathroom floor. Their silence was punctuated by Mike's sporadic vomiting fits. Harvey had his cell in his hand, and had called Molly, apologising for waking her. He was terrified. He doesn't know what is going on. She told Harvey to check Mike's temperature, if it's above 104, take him to the ER. Mike sat back against the cold tiles, he was burning up, Harvey could feel that much. He was muttering apologies to Mike, telling him that he was going to help him. Molly was trying to keep Harvey calm as well.
'What is the reading, Harvey?' Molly asked through the phone.
'102. Is that bad? Molly, I don't think I can move him without him vomiting,' Harvey said, trying to help Mike up, only for the young man to wretch into the toilet bowl again.
'Put Mike in the bath with lukewarm water. That might help his temperature go down. Take it again in about an hour and check. If it goes above 104 go to the ER. He might just have a fever,' Molly said.
'Okay, I'm putting you on speaker Molly, don't hang up,' Harvey said, running the water whilst holding Mike's hand as the younger man tried to maintain consciousness.
A/N: I don't know when the next upload will be. I'll probably take some time until after my move until I'm settled, and then start it up again. Thanks for understanding, and have a fantastic day. D.
