Chapter 7
Powers Awaken - Part 2
It's been a few days since the gang checked into the Hemisphere. It was the middle of the night.
Matt laid awake on his bed with one thing in mind. He remembered the fight against the barbari-ants, and how he briefly used his powers during that time. How he felt more in control during that time.
Matt spent a good while thinking to himself, Why did I feel in control then? After spending so long unable to control them, why then?
After a while, one thought came to mind. The thought that maybe in order to control his powers, he needs to let them come to him.
Matt sat up and turned towards the others. They were still asleep. He had his chance to test his theory, and he was not going to waste it.
Matt walked out of the room as quietly as he could to not wake anybody up.
Matt walked out of the hotel and made sure no one was around. Once he knew the coast was clear, he stopped, closed his eyes, and took deep breaths, staying as calm as he possibly could.
After five minutes of standing silently, he felt a surge of power flowing through him. He opened his eyes and looked at his hands. They were glowing teal. He looked down and saw that he was an inch above the ground.
Matt shouted in excitement and took off at high speeds.
Once Matt was high enough, he stopped and looked around. He was very high in the air and it was an amazing feeling. He wondered, "What else can I do?"
Matt closed his fist and focused hard, and a ball of teal energy formed around his fist. He released it and sent the energy up into the stratosphere.
After a while of flying around and blasting energy for the fun of it, Matt noticed the sun rising. Right after, he started to feel tired. He realized that he's running out of energy from using his powers so much, so he flew back down to the ground.
Matt landed softly in front of the Hemisphere. He walked inside and went back into his room. He got onto his bed and passed out.
Right as he passed out, the alarm clock went off, and the amphibians woke up.
"Matt, wake up," said Aaron as he tried to shake Matt awake. "It's time to go explore."
Matt groaned, "I'm not in the mood. Maybe some other time."
