AN: Here's the next chapter hope you enjoy!
Shouta looked over at where Izuku and Hitoshi were talking. He figured Izuku might go to him first since he forbade him from talking to Bakugou. The blond almost blew a fuse over it. If he hadn't then Izuku would never venture out toward his other classmates which is what he told him. Bakugou only scoffed in return before stomping away. As much as Shouta appreciated the blond being there for Izuku, he needed to learn to socialize with others. He couldn't rely on Bakugou for everything or he would never grow. At least he'd given him someone comfortable to start with. After what seemed like too long Shouta made this thought known with a narrowed look to the green haired boy that it was time to move on. Izuku saw him and went off to the next student. After Hitoshi, Shouta figured he'd go to someone else he was a little more comfortable with or someone who wouldn't mind his approach. He was thinking maybe Iida, as class rep, or Mina, who was sociable and had invited him. As of late Izuku was predictable in his decisions, but no. Izuku pulled a wild card on him and headed for Todoroki. Shouta sighed. That probably wasn't a good idea.
Todoroki was the one person Shouta expected him not to talk to and later apologize for not doing so. Izuku looked like, despite the timid approach, he was on a mission. He had only seen that look once, when Izuku asked to speak to him and learned the horrors he endured. He had a purpose in mind as he approached the iciest student of his current homeroom class. His eyes showed a determination, a new drive, that would keep his feet going despite the overwhelming panic to turn tail the other way.
Todoroki was doing quite well in all his classes and had excellent judgment, technique, and reflexes. What Shouta expected of the son of the number two hero and someone who got in based on recommendations. There was one aspect Todoroki was failing that he wasn't getting graded on. Social interactions. Shouta would immediately fail him in that regard, but he wasn't one to talk. At least he begrudgingly had a couple friends and got along, sort of, with his co-workers and fellow pro heroes. Not once had he seen Todoroki talk to one of his classmates except when necessary in a training exercise and was often rather cold toward everyone. Not to mention he had a rather unorthodox costume and not once showed any sign of fully using his left side, the fire he inherited from Endeavor. Sure he used the bare heat from it to melt his ice, but not once had Shouta seen a flame.
When the first initial flame started he thought it was Todoroki until he saw Izuku's sleeve burnt away and smoke seeping off. Shouta couldn't believe it and was immediately on his feet to go to him. Izuku learned how to use Todoroki's quirk and Shouta couldn't figure out why on the Earth he would do so. This could only spell disaster in more than one way. Concluding that Izuku now knew two volatile quirks at his disposal with the capacity for so much more. Not that Shouta thought Izuku would use them incorrectly, but if gotten out of control, it could end badly. Lucky enough he had pretty much control over Bakugou's, but this was a whole new different skill and Shouta was aware from watching Endeavor that emotions along with their quirks don't add up well. This was asking for someone to get burned. Aizawa sighed and figured it best to intervene before the matter got out of hand and bridges were burned.
"No! It's me copying your quirk factor! Not his! Yours! Me using my quirk to do this makes this my quirk and no one else's! Do you know what that means? It's your quirk, not his!" He heard Izuku's voice scream echoing through the gym.
Before he got a chance to take a step and break up the fight that would undoubtedly happen that section of the gym exploded. The floor caved in on itself like All Might had just punched it and the blast of wind that would flow it blew everyone off their feet. The cement broke apart and rained down coating the area and anything around with a layer of gray dust. Shouta looked up to the place in a fog of steam, mist, and dirt. He couldn't see anything as his students' shouts echoed.
"What the fuck?!"
"What happened?!"
"Is everyone alright?!"
"I'm fine!"
"Just some bumps and bruises!"
Shouta rushed over to the desolated area; he was thankful to hear that everyone else not at ground zero seemed alright. Todoroki had been practicing with his ice in ways he could subdue those who were good at close combat. Izuku had barely used the fire and added his own ice. However whatever caused them both to burst into flames heated the area and the chilly air which caused it to explode. If Todoroki could somehow control this it would be a devastating attack. They were lucky the damage wasn't any worse and Cementoss could easily fix the damages. He might have to buy the man a gift basket for this. That was an issue for later. Now he didn't dare think of the boys who were in the middle of it all. What was Izuku thinking?
"Izuku!" Bakugou yelled as the area cleared and he blasted his way over toward the fallen green haired boy who had collapsed against a pile of rubble.
"Todoroki!" Iida yelled, going to the other side of his fallen classmates.
Shouta went toward Izuku immediately. Todoroki could handle the backlash of his own quirk and not to mention he was a healthy teenage boy. Izuku's body was still healing, having only just gotten the approval to start getting his body back into shape with a few pounds he recently put on. Shouta feared this might set him back further or cause complications.
Bakugou cradled Izuku, whose body was covered in dust, to his chest as his red eyes looked over the boy and would occasionally look up to glare at anyone. He told Izuku to stay away from that Icy-Hot motherfucker. He wasn't the friendliest of people and Bakugou could tell there was some sort of baggage there Izuku didn't need added to his own. However, the little shit in passed out in his arms, Izuku, just couldn't mind his own fucking business. A fact about him that would never change and as much as Bakugou didn't want it too, sometimes he wished it would.
"Take Todoroki to Recovery Girl!" Shouta yelled before kneeling down next to them. Out of the corner of his eye he saw Shoji carefully pick up the other fallen teen with Iida not quite shouting directions to the rest of them. The bits he heard said if they were seriously hurt to please see Recovery Girl and someone needed to go get another teacher. In the meantime they were to get dressed and return to the classroom for further instructions or updates. Good, he didn't need to worry about the rest of the class and could focus solely on Izuku.
"Mr. Aizawa." Shouta couldn't believe the soft voice that came from normally shouting blond. Bakugou's eyes bore into his own as they then looked down at his arms.
"He'll be okay." Shouta reassured him. "Here, let me take him."
Bakugou hesitantly went to pass Izuku over and as soon as Shouta touched his arm he winced and dropped it immediately. The kid's skin was on fire.
"The fuck?" Bakugou asked.
"He's scorching."
"No he's 's fucking freezing."
Shouta took a step back and really looked at Izuku. Half of his clothes were in tatters, but that was the least of his problems. From the looks of it Izuku was unconscious and had burns all over his left arm and hand. As he got closer the burns didn't look third degree, but his skin was bright red and a couple places were blistering. At least second degree. The half that was cradled against Bakugou was shaking and he could see where his clothes were wet. Most likely from a layer of frost that had melted off from Bakugou's higher body temperature.
"Can you carry him?" Shouta asked. The heat from his left side shouldn't bother Bakugou and he'd be able to gradually warm his right.
Without a word Bakugou lifted Izuku who let out a small groan and rushed out. Shouta still couldn't wrap his head around what Izuku was thinking at that moment. What was driving him? This kid…
Everything was spinning. His entire world had been turned upside down. His head hurt. His heart hurt. Nothing yet everything made sense. As he slowly opened his eyes he squinted at the bright lights training to remember exactly what happened. He had been talking and suddenly his entire point of view erupted into flames, literally and figuratively. It was maybe a less than ten minute conversation, but everything said sent him spiraling. What he said struck a little close to home. It caused a fire to burn inside him that he hadn't felt in a long, long time. A fire created by the gentlest of touches and voice. Raising his left hand to his head he looked at it. He couldn't believe it, he used his fire. For an instant nothing around him mattered except his desire to one day become a hero. A hero he wanted to be.
Todoroki sat up and looked around. He was in the nurse's office on the far bed by the window that was blocked by a curtain. It was quiet except for the soft breaths he could just behind the curtain where a shadow sat.
"Midoriya. He did something reckless so I'd feel better. Why?" Todoroki whispered as he just continued to look down at his hands.
"YOU BASTARD!" Bakugou screamed, flinging the curtain back and grabbed Todoroki by the collar and lifted him up to get in his face. "WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO?!"
Behind Bakugou, Todoroki caught a glance behind him to see Midoriya still unconscious on the other bed. Izuku's entire left arm and hand were wrapped in bandages and he had little scorch marks all over his face. From what he could see, his right side was also covered, but the skin he could see was red and splotchy.
"Is…he okay?" Todoroki asked.
"LIKE YOU SHOULD GET TO FUCKING KNOW! NOW ANSWER MY QUESTION DAMN IT!"
"Bakugou!" Shouta shouted coming into the room with Recovery Girl hot on his heels.
"Do not wake him." Recovery Girl said in a stern tone.
"No! He's answering me right the fuck now or I'm blasting his ass!" Bakugou said in a much lower volume, but raised his palm that popped.
"Bakugou! Don't make me tell you again or you'll be asked to leave and I won't let you see him for a while." Shouta threatened.
Whatever their teacher meant did the trick as Bakugou let Todoroki go who fell back onto the bed. What did Mr. Aizawa mean by that? Todoroki assumed 'he' meant Midoriya. He figured Bakugou and Midoriya were close, but why did their teacher have authorization if they saw each other.
"Tch." Bakugou said before turning around and returning to Midoriya's side. His hands itched to reach out and touch him, but he resisted. He didn't want to hurt him so he settled for keeping his hands close as possible and his eyes trained on his face.
"Is he okay?" Todoroki asked their teacher.
"He'll live." Shouta answered. Whether or not he was in trouble and remained that way was the question of the day when Shouta was done with him once the kid finally woke up. "We want to know what happened?"
Todoroki didn't know what to say. Midoriya said things to him he probably never told anyone else. Was there a level of trust between them to keep the conversation they had a secret?
"I…we talked."
"No shit dipshit. We gathered that." Bakugou's voice called as he turned at them. Aizawa turned around a moment to glare at Bakugou who only rolled his eyes and snorted.
"If it helps any, I know all about Izuku's past." Shouta said.
Izuku? Their teacher called him by his given name. Todoroki looked over at him. Their relationship was peculiar. He was aware that Mr. Aizawa had saved Midoriya after the USJ incident, but Todoroki thought that wouldn't give rights to use personal names. Aizawa seemed awfully close to Midoriya. Were they related somehow? How did their relationship continue on after being saved?
"He said he understood me. He said some things that I had forgotten. I think I'll be okay, but is he really? Those injuries…" Todoroki said as his eyes flickered toward the left side of his face.
"He got to me in time and he's recovered enough where I was able to use my quirk to heal most of the damage to where they'll be like first degrees. Both of your body temperatures have returned to normal, but I'd like to keep you here for a little while longer. When he's awake and has a little more energy I'll try to see about healing him, but he'll most likely have some scarring. They may fade eventually, but only time will tell." Recovery Girl explained. "Now, Aizawa, don't you have to report to the principal and Bakugou can go back to class."
"Like hell!" Bakugou yelled.
"I won't have you in here yelling while my patients are trying to rest. Now leave. You can come back later after he's awake." Recovery Girl glared as she pointed to the door.
Bakugou knew it was a losing battle. Despite not liking to lose, he wasn't about to lose privileges seeing Izuku. Aizawa and the nurse would see to it. Plus the old bitty said he could come back later and school wasn't in session much longer. As soon as the fucking bell rang he was going to be here. Probably with the entire class at his heels, but he'd be the first fucking one here.
"Fine. I'll be back. Don't mess with him Icy-Hot!" Bakugou said, pointing at Todoroki harshly before he left. As much as he wanted to slam the door closed he chose not to.
"That kid." Shouta sighed.
"He's protective of the boy. Can you blame him?" Recovery Girl said.
Shouta pinched the bridge of his nose. "No. I can't, but he also needs to understand that Izuku can do things for himself."
"Do they know each other?"
Shouta cursed to himself. He forgot Todoroki was in the room. It was no secret to the class that Bakugou and Midoriya knew each, but he didn't know how much they knew. Bakugou didn't seem like the one who would tell the class his traumas and Shouta was sure that Izuku hadn't said anything about his.
"Yes. They were childhood friends." Was all Shouta told him.
"Up until his capture?"
"Yes."
"He said his father made him."
That comment sucked the breath out of him. Shouta then let out a heavy sigh before looking at Izuku. This kid seriously couldn't catch a break as he looked on at the peaceful expression. He was aware that Izuku probably only told him the basics of his father and what any justice system thought would be useful. Having children for the sake of making better quirk combinations was illegal and hard to prove. Now that he thought about it, he was probably looking at two products of such an atrocity. Unfortunately, he couldn't do much about it in either situation. Endeavor was the number two hero unless there was quite a bit of evidence and Izuku's would be near impossible to carry anything since his mother was gone. Wasn't like Izuku's father needed any more charges against him. If he was the villain All Might says he is then he's already going away for life.
"I'll ask him about it later. He didn't say too much about his father when we spoke. Was there anything else?"
"No offense Mr. Aizawa. I feel like it doesn't concern you and it should be fine now."
As much as Shouta wanted to disagree he couldn't. As long as it didn't affect their school life or caused any other issues he guessed he could let it go this time. He could ask Izuku about it later. The kid might let it slip out one way or another. For now, it was a heated talk that got out of hand.
Everything hurt when Izuku finally started regaining consciousness. Green eyes opened to see a white ceiling before wandering down to another sight of white. His arms, all the way to his fingertips were wrapped. He let out a small groan in frustration. He overdid it. Izuku internally cursed at himself. He was aware that when he first learned how to use Todoroki's quirk he needed to sit with his quirk on for a little while and allow his body to adapt to use it immediately. If he had, then his body wouldn't have gotten burned. When he first used Kacchan's his hand was red, but that faded and his palms eventually adapted. He thought things were getting better and now he was screwing things up again and causing problems. He couldn't help it. Todoroki just looked so sad. Every time he used his quirk Todoroki looked like he was battling within himself. Izuku just wanted to help and now looked where it landed him. He let his emotions get the best of him and those determined his actions. He could only hope that it helped. That would make everything worth it.
"I'm glad you're awake. Midoriya, you have my apologies." Todoroki said seemingly out of nowhere.
Eyes blinking slowly at the boy who was bowing at his bedside. Todoroki's eyes were trained to the floor as he seemed like he couldn't, wouldn't look him in the eyes.
"What for?" Izuku said in a rather hoarse voice.
Todoroki rose from his position and disappeared. Izuku wondered if he did something wrong before he heard the sink in the bathroom turn on. A second later Todoroki returned with a cup in his hands and offered it to him. Oh. That was kind of him. Izuku graciously accepted the cup as he took a drink, noticing the cup and cool water felt colder than what someone would normally get from a simple sink.
"I seem to have indirectly included you in my problems and I apologize for the harsh words I said to you. I had no right to say any of those things to you."
"It's okay! You didn't know!" Izuku said frantically.
"Regardless, that was inappropriate of me. Trauma isn't comparable." Todoroki said, sitting down in the chair Bakugou once occupied.
"You're right, but that doesn't mean we can't move on and show we're better than what's happened to us. Sometimes we need help from others. I'm just learning this myself. For a long time I didn't think help would ever come, but it did. Now I just remember that I can also give it if no one else will." Izuku said, smiling at him. If only Kacchan and Shouta could hear him. He'd probably get a head smack from at least one of them, but they'd be happy to know the time they spent drilling these lessons into him was actually paying off.
"Can I ask?" Todoroki said cautiously. He was curious and had so many questions now. Who was actually after him? Was it his father? How was this boy able to smile despite the horrors he had probably seen? "I know Mr. Aizawa said you could tell us what you want, but…"
Todoroki didn't expect Izuku to tell him anything. He respected that choice. Todoroki knew he wasn't the most forthcoming of the class.
"I'm sure you know I was kidnapped by my father actually about six years ago in July. He's a villain and that's all I'll say on that matter. He…he killed my mom because she was no longer useful to him since my quirk had finally appeared. I found out a little later that it was my quirk that he wanted, but it ended up being a failure in his eyes as he didn't get what he wanted."
Todoroki didn't let his surprise show as Izuku continued.
Izuku only told him bits and pieces, telling him he wasn't quite ready to tell anyone everything again and that it wasn't his burden to bear. He simply explained what Todoroki already knew. His father had kidnapped him thinking he had the quirk he wanted, but when he didn't he simply left to suffer in despair at the hand of others. Barely any mercy involved. Izuku was like his siblings, but instead of his father ignoring him he essentially punished him. He didn't go into depth about those sufferings.
Todoroki wanted Izuku to tell him everything, but for now he extended the trust and told him about his father, the number two hero, and the quirk marriage to surpass the number one hero. That his mother was the one who poured hot boiling water over his left side. Izuku hid his shocked expression less than Todoroki as his eyes widened and looked downward.
"My old man's a scumbag and I won't be his toy anymore. I want to become my hero. I'm sorry that my bullheadedness ended up injuring you."
"No! It's fine! I'll be okay. It's not so bad." Izuku said, smiling at him.
Todoroki could only feel a pressuring guilt when he remembered he said Midoriya was looking for pity and was a charity case. UA was protecting this boy. A boy who deserved to be protected. He just wouldn't let him feel bad. Midoriya was most likely going to have burn scars covering his body the rest of his life.
"I'm really okay with it."
"Huh?" Todoroki questioned.
"If it leaves marks."
"How can you say that?"
"You can't see them right now and I often keep covered, but uh…my father's doctor I guess you can call him that used to…experiment on me."
Todoroki's blown eyes didn't hide this time. He remembered the first day Midoriya was in class and he had that panic attack. It was most likely caused by Kaminari's electricity. Being experimented on was a rather wide area to cover.
"They…"
"Just needles and surgical tools really, but it left scars that look kind of suspicious to anyone looking. If these scar and cover those I'll be fine with that knowing I got these by helping someone." Izuku said.
Todoroki gave a small smile and lightly shook his head. That was such a peculiar way to look at it. Todoroki could see in his eyes he was serious and they didn't really know what would be left of this incident until Recovery Girl got another look.
"Thank you Midoriya."
"Huh? I didn't do anything."
"But you did. What you said made me think about the people in my life. The people who matter. One day I will use my quirk, to its fullest potential, to become a hero I can be proud of."
"One day?" Izuku asked, confused.
"I won't use it. Not yet. Not until I talk to her. My mother. After the Sports Festival." Todoroki explained. Todoroki committed himself to his declaration. He would one day use his fire, but not until he talked to his mom. She needed to know who he had become and the person he was going to be. Although the thought of seeing her again filled him with worry, this would be the first step he would take in becoming a hero.
"Well then, I can't wait to see the hero you'll become Todoroki." Izuku said, smiling at him.
"You too."
"Oh, uh, I'm not sure about that." Izuku asked as he fiddled with his fingers. Everyone kept calling him a hero. What did being a hero truly mean?
"I thought that being related to Mr. Aizawa would influence you." Todoroki commented seriously.
"What?!" Izuku gawked as he dissolved into a couple giggles. Despite sounding like a joke, by his tone Izuku knew he was dead serious.
"Are you not related to Mr. Aizawa? You both seem close and he uses your given name. Also he said that Bakugou is your childhood friend, but they were careful to hide that they knew one another."
"N-no." Izuku laughed. "Don't tell anyone. The only people who know are Kacchan and Hitoshi, oh, I mean Bakugou and Shinsou, but I'm living with Mr. Aizawa for right now. Kacchan and I did know one another from our childhood and I met Hitoshi while I was captive by preventing him from meeting a similar fate."
"That makes more sense." Todoroki whispered. "Why do you say it like that?"
"Like what?"
"Preventing. It sounds like you saved, helped him. Whether or not I think you'd be an extraordinary hero, Midoriya. You've already done so much. Even more so than people you don't know."
Izuku's mouth dropped a little. He…did do that. Hitoshi said so. Shouta said so. Kacchan said so. Now Todoroki said so. Did it have to be so? Was he a hero despite that action ending up with some many people dying? Izuku looked down at his hands to see the white bandages snuggly, but not tight around his hands. No matter how much he glared and bore his eyes into them he couldn't see the blood he was looking for. The red he adamantly alleged he spilled with his own bare hands. He knew even if he ripped through the bandages the only red he'd find would be the skin inflamed by his own choices to save, help someone else.
"MIDORIYA!"
Both boys jumped as the entire class barreled into the nurse's office attempting to climb over each other.
"OUT OF MY WAY YOU MORONS!"
Izuku snickered as he realized Kacchan not literally blasted his way through them to get to his side. He pushed them out of the way as they all pouted and complained at him.
Bakugou admittedly the idiots in class got the jump on him. When he returned to the classroom he ignored everyone badgering him about if he knew anything. All he said was they'd be fine and that shit was their business. He was going to ask Izuku later though. However, there was always one moron who asked the question everyone at least wandered once.
"What's the relationship between you and Midoriya?"
Everyone had burst when that ponytail asked. She always was a little nosy. He looked and knew at least 3 people knew the truth. Eyebags for obvious reasons, Four Eyes probably had some inkling, and he told Shitty Hair. He'd tell Izuku later, but he told them they knew one another before he had been kidnapped.
"So you were childhood friends!"
"You could say that."
"What did I say Icy-Hot!?" Bakugou yelled.
"Kacchan, it's fine. Todoroki and I were just talking."
"Talking is what got you into trouble in the first place you damn nerd!"
Izuku wasn't going to feed Kacchan's ego and tell him he had a point.
"Please don't worry about what happened. I…made a choice and this is the result so please don't worry about it. All of you." Izuku said as he made eye contact with each of them. Todoroki may not show it, but Izuku could tell he was relieved he didn't say anything. This would be best kept between them. Neither one of them needed their family drama held out for everyone to know. At least they both knew that they could talk to one another.
"Fine. But you better be careful from now on." Bakugou said.
"I will. Actually now that you're all here. I want to trust you all with something. I want to tell you about my quirk." Izuku said.
"Please don't force yourself Midoriya if you don't feel comfortable in doing so!" Iida said immediately right after.
"It's okay. Thank you Iida. I feel like if I'm going to be around you I should at least tell you that. It's a part of me that I've recently come to accept, embrace, and like. My quirk, in a simple explanation, lets me use the quirk of another person as long as I know it does." Izuku explained. "Kacchan?"
Bakugou rolled his eyes before popping his quirk a little. Izuku's hair floated before his green eyes flashed red and Bakugou's quirk shut off completely.
"Wow! That's Mr. Aizawa's quirk!" Uraraka said.
"Yeah. Since I know Mr. Aizawa's quirk comes from his eyes and shut off the expression of quirk factors I am able to use." Izuku said, turning his quirk off and rubbing his eyes for a second. "But I unfortunately get all the side effects. He wasn't kidding about the dry eye."
"Can you copy quirks like mine?" Ojirio asked.
"I'm not sure and those are a little more difficult since it's a physical manifestation." Izuku said. "All your quirks are amazing regardless. I didn't have many friends growing up so I can't wait to get to know all of you!"
Bakugou bit his lip which didn't go unnoticed by Todoroki who kept his eyes trained on the blond who didn't notice because his eyes were on Midoriya. What Todoroki did notice was the look of confliction in his eyes. Midoriya said they were friends so shouldn't Bakugou be happy Midoriya was finally opening up. He'd ask about it later when Midoriya wasn't around. As the echoes of the class talking with Izuku, Todoroki looked at the boy who saved him. It was so simple. Just a few short sentences and Todoroki felt like he owed him his life. He guessed he was just going to be added to the list of people that Midoriya Izuku saved, whether or not he wanted to be a hero or not.
"I have something I want to announce. I'll tell Mr. Aizawa later, along with the principal. If they let me…" Izuku said as everyone watched on expectantly with suspense. Izuku looked at each one of them. Hitoshi gave him a small smirk and Izuku looked at the scared boy he saved from meeting the end of the doctor's experiments. Tortured and possibly losing his life, if not worse, becoming a mindless being. He closed his eyes and took a breath. The man who gave him access to Blink. He did what he said; he got out. Yes, the man was a criminal, but Izuku wanted to do right. He thought about Shouta. The doctor wanted him and Izuku refused to allow that nightmare to become true. He looked at Todoroki and despite his stoic features was going to step forward and leave his past. Lastly, Izuku turned to the one constant in his life. Kacchan. Izuku would save him every time without a second thought. He wanted to stay by his side and keep the promise they made from before quirks. Kacchan was his best friend and he was going to be an amazing hero. One that never gives up and fights until the battle is won or he'll die trying. A hero Izuku admired and wanted to fight alongside. He found some answers to Hound Dog's homework. "I think I want to be a hero."
"FUCK YES!" Bakugou yelled as he fist pumped. The class laughed at the gesture before they cheered for Izuku's choice. A choice he made all on his own.
"I'm still thinking, Kacchan, but I'm more sure than I was. I want to talk to someone first and no matter what they say doesn't mean I won't try. I just need an answer to a question and I need to get control over my quirk." Izuku interrupted. "I still need to work with it. I can't allow it to hinder me and how am I going to save people if I don't use my full power?"
Izuku smiled at the others and Todoroki nodded along, fully agreeing with the statement.
Izuku joyously talked and listened alongside them, but his mind still wondered. Could someone like him possibly be a hero?
"See now Aizawa. All is well." Nezu said as he sipped his tea and they watched the feed from the nurse's office.
Shouta's heart soared with pride. It also looked like he had some homework. He would get his kid to become the hero he knew he was. He would be there when Izuku finally could say with his entire being that he wanted to be a hero. No uncertainty. No doubt. There was a quirk specialist in Hosu that could probably see Izuku after the Sports Festival. Internships would be the perfect time to plan a visit as Shouta wouldn't have to worry about missing class or going on a weekend.
"Although I'm cross with you principal, what you said to him was apparently something he needed to hear. Izuku has really grown leaps and bounds since then."
When Nezu revealed to Shouta about talking to Izuku earlier before their class, Shouta wasn't happy. He knew Nezu tended to say things that tend to be more on the blunt side of cruel. However, once hearing his boss out and what he had actually said, Shouta couldn't be mad. He could see it, but Izuku was drowning at the choices presented to him. Izuku was the strongest child, strongest person, he had ever met. He just needed people to support him and help get to where he wanted.
"He truly will rise and maybe even surprise himself. So Aizawa, are you going to discuss it with him?" Nezu asked as he smiled into his cup.
"I'll show him what I'm feeling now. Proud and let him know I'll support him." Shouta answered. He and Nezu only looked in afterward to check on them once classes had dismissed. Mainly just to see if Izuku had woken up and they happen to hear the end of the conversation and Izuku's reawakening dream. It was only a matter of time.
"Not that," Nezu shook his head as the grin only got wider. "Telling him that you want to officially foster him with the intention of adoption?"
