CW: Amamatsu

Summary: Kaede realizes that she and Rantaro hasn't shared their first kiss yet; she sets to change that.

Author's Note: I'm participating in Flufftober! I am using an unofficial prompt list, though, so yeah. First day's prompt is First Kiss! :)

I really like Amamatsu, but haven't gotten around to writing anything for them until now. Enjoy!

"You two haven't even shared your first kiss yet?! Haven't you guys been dating for, like, almost a year now?!"

Kaede awkwardly chuckled as she took a sip of her drink—couldn't go wrong with pink lemonade—as she and her best friend strolled down the sparse streets of the town. "I don't know... It's just never come up, I guess."

Tenko, eyes widened in disbelief, took a sip of her own drink—sweet tea—and swallowed it before speaking again. "Kaede, that's one of the first things you do when you start dating someone!"

Kaede gulped another mouthful of her drink. "I know that. I'll do something about it soon, I promise."

"Actually, you could do something about it right now!"

"Huh?"

Tenko pointed in front of them, and Kaede followed her finger to see Rantaro, Kaede's boyfriend, standing a good distance away. He was examining whatever was behind the glass of the storefront he was standing in front of.

"Hey, Rantaro!" Kaede waved as she and Tenko approached him. "I thought you had work today?"

"Hey, Kaede." Rantaro pulled her into a side hug and waved at Tenko. "Hey, Tenko. And I got the rest of the day off. Someone threw a brick threw a brick through the store window."

"Are you okay?" Kaede pulled away from the hug and quickly inspected Rantaro. "You didn't get hurt, did you?"

Rantaro chuckled at the gesture. "Of course not. I'm talking to you right now, aren't I?"

Kaede ran her free hand through her hair, shaking her head. "Oh. Right."

"Well," Tenko started, giving Kaede a hug. "I guess I'll leave you two to do... whatever you guys do alone." With that, Tenko turned on her heel and began skipping off down the street.

After waving her best friend off, Kaede turned to Rantaro. "Well, if you're not busy... Maybe we could hang out at my house? I've got a couple piano I want to play for you."

"Sure."

The two smiled at each other and began walking in the opposite direction Tenko had went off in. A few minutes passed before Kaede spoke up again.

"Hey, so... I want to know your thoughts on something."

"Shoot."

"Well, I was talking with Tenko earlier, and... She noticed that me and you, we haven't had our first kiss yet. I know we hug and hold hands and stuff, but... I thought it was weird, I guess."

As soon as the words came out of her mouth, Kaede wanted to shove them back in. Maybe that hadn't been the right thing to say.

To Kaede's slight confusion, however, Rantaro let out a relieved sigh. "I honestly feel the same way. I noticed that too, but I didn't want to bring it up and make you feel uncomfortable."

Kaede blinked. "Really? You wouldn't have made me uncomfortable."

"That's a relief." Rantaro's grin stretched just a bit wider. "Well then, can I kiss you?"

Kaede giggled. "Of course."

The two temporarily stopped in their tracks, allowing Rantaro to lean down and plant his lips on Kaede's. She could practically feel her boyfriend's smile throughout the kiss, and it never left his face even after they pulled away and began walking again, hand in hand.

"Don't be afraid to tell me anything. Got it, Mister?" A playful pout punctuated Kaede's statement.

Rantaro chuckled. "Noted."
