DISCLAIMER: I DON'T OWN MARVEL AND MY HERO ACADEMIA

Prologue.

(The Amazing Spider-Man 2 OST: Harry's Suite. Starts playing.)

"Not all men are created equal."

This is the sad truth when young Izuku Midoriya had to learn that fact when he was at the age of four. For most of his life, he wanted nothing more than to be a hero, saving everyone with a fearless smile just like his idol and the Symbol of Peace himself, All Might. But at every turn and for having that dream, he was bullied relentlessly almost every day, by his former childhood friend turned bully Katsuki Bakugo, his classmates at every school he attended over the years and the teachers who sometimes ignored him, joined in the bullying and so on. His mother, Inko Midoriya, never believed in his dream ever since he declared Quirkless, the type that 80% of the world looks down upon, treating it as nothing more than a disease, a second-class.

On the top of the rooftop, Izuku, with dark green fluffy hair with freckles, wearing his middle-school uniform and a yellow backpack, standing there as he looked at a skinny man wearing a white T-shirt and green cargo trousers, who was shockingly none other than All Might himself. Before this happened, he got attacked by a villain made of dark green sludge and attempted to kill him and take control of his body. However, his attempt was thwarted when his hero and idol swiftly defeated him and contained him in a bottle. Before he leapt out of the scene, Izuku grabbed his trousers and they both took off, not wanting to see him go and wanted to ask him the question he was hoping he answered. And that's where they landed on the rooftop they are now on.

But that didn't stop right there. Just as Izuku explains how he was Quirkless and asks him if he ever becomes a hero without powers, All Might, the hulking behemoth, sprouts out steams from his body and deflates into the skinny form he now sees in front of him. At first, he is in denial and thinks this man is the imposter, but the proof is shown to him when he pulls up the left side of his shirt and reveals to him a horrendous scar along with telling him that he no longer has a stomach and it was five years ago. Izuku wondered if it was the Toxic Chainsaw at that time, but All Might dismiss it. He also told the boy that he smiles just to hide the fear inside him so that people believe he's someone who's not afraid.

All Might was sitting on the floor lying his back on the balcony while looking at his clenched fist as he spoke. "Pro Heroes always risking their lives. Some villains just can't be beaten without powers." He then looks at Izuku with a serious face. "So no, I honestly don't think you can become a hero without a Quirk."

With that shocking revelation, Izuku stands there with a disbelieving look on his face. Completely heartbroken by his idol's words, he looks down quiveringly, refusing to break down crying. "I... S-See."

All Might stand up away from the balcony before saying. "If you want to help people you can always become a police officer. They get crap because heroes capture most of the villains, but it's a fine profession." He walks away and heads towards the door that leads downstairs. Just as he opens the door, he stops for a moment before saying his last words to him. "It's not bad to have a dream, young man. Just... make sure your dreams are attainable. Realistic. Understand."

And just like that, he walks through and closes the door behind him, leaving behind the boy who is shedding tears. Unable to contain his emotions anymore, he fell to his knees and lowered his head, sobbing uncontrollably as he cried loudly. He couldn't believe what was happening to him, His idol and hero, the Symbol of peace and the top-ranked hero, told him he couldn't be a hero without powers, that his dreams should be realistic. He thought he'd say he could be a hero, but he was wrong. He's just like everyone else, telling him that becoming a hero is an impossible dream. He is now broken.

"W-why!?" Izuku cried mentally, his mind couldn't take what was given to him. "Why does this always happen to me? Why am I not good enough? Why does no one ever believe in me? WHY!?"

"Sorry son, it's not gonna happen." The blunt voice from his former doctor, the very same day he was diagnosed as Quirkless.

"I'm sorry Izuku! I wish things were different!" The sobbing voice of his mother when he remembered her hugging him after asking her his question, the day she never supported his dream.

"You'll never be able to hang with the best of the best, YOU'LL DIE IN THE EXAM!" The voice of his long-time bully rang out when he cornered him as he and the whole class of his middle school mocked him.

"So no, I honestly don't think you can become a hero without a Quirk." And finally, the voice of the hero who shattered his dreams as he left the rooftops without even looking back at him.

"Why does everyone keep putting me down, just because I had a dream!?" He continues crying, his mind keeps flooding with painful memories. Memories of everyone telling him to stop becoming a hero. "Why do I have to be born Quirkless?"

"Just pray that you'll be born with a Quirk in your next life, and take a swine dive off the roof of the building."

The smug voice of Bakugo he remembered just before he left the school. Izuku turns his head and stares towards the edge where it leads to the ally. After what he experienced in his whole life and with his dream and ambition completely shattered, he was very tempted to follow his bully's advice. Ending his pain right then and there, doing the whole world a favour and ending his existence for good. No one in the world would care if a Quirkless person like him committed suicide. It was evident when a girl without powers killed herself and no one batted an eye at the girl's death, saying it was a good thing she was gone or the world was better off without her.

But will it be worth it? Will he go through with it and hope he will gain a Quirk in his next life? No, it wouldn't. It will give Bakugo and everyone like him the power to beat down others like him. Izuku shook the suicidal thought out of his head and slowly rose his upper body from the floor, wiping the overflowing tears from his eyes as he began to calm himself down.

(The Amazing Spider-Man 2 OST: Harry's Suite. Stop playing at 3:28.)

But he was interrupted by the sudden loud bang as he looked up and saw smoke miles away from him, rising to the sky as he heard another explosion again within the dark smoke. Under normal circumstances, he would always go towards the scenes and wonder which hero would save the day. But now? He doesn't care anymore. His dreams are now shattered. His interest in heroes is now gone, reduced to ash. He narrowed his eyes coldly at the dark smoke before standing up and heading straight to the door, not bothering to see what was going on. All he now cares about is heading home and nothing else, because he is now done...

...With everything.

It was now evening when Izuku just arrived at the entrance of the apartment buildings with numbers on them. He walks towards the third building and up the stairs to reach the second floor, where he and his mother live. He grabbed the handle of the door and twisted it, opening the door as he walked right in. He closed the door behind him before letting out a tired, yet broken sigh. Looking cold, yet lifeless as he dropped the bag on the floor and continued to walk through the hallway, forgetting to take off his red shoes. He looked to his right to see a door with a little board with All Might pointed twin hairs and the name spelt 'Izuku'. His face hardened and quivered at the sight of it, he had all of All Might's collection and posters all over his room in an organized fashion. Not wanting to see it anymore, he quickly looks away with his eyes closed trying to suppress his tears and anger before continuing walking.

Entering the main room, he saw none other than his mother, Inko, sitting on the purplish-blue sofa looking at the TV and drinking her tea. She heard someone coming just after she finished her tea and turned her head and saw a depressed young boy, she smiled happily seeing her baby boy again. "Hey Izuku. How's today?"

Izuku standing there with his head down, didn't say a word which got her mom concerned, wondering what happened to him. "Izuku, what happened?" She asked again but she still got no word out of him, only his head lowered as the response. Her concerns only worsened as she moved to the side of the sofa and patted the spaced seat. "Come. Sit down with me. I want to know what's wrong?"

Izuku was silent for a few seconds until he finally nodded and walked towards the sofa before sitting next to Inko. Everything was silent except the TV playing as the boy still looked down brokenly. Inko placed her cup down on the coffee table and looked at her son with a worried, yet caring expression. "What is it, Izuku? Can you tell me?"

Izuku, once again, stayed unresponsive for a while until eventually, he was able to get his words out, albeit breaking and cold. "I... I happened to meet All Might not too long ago."

Inko was surprised to hear that. "Oh. That's... great news. Did... something went wrong?" Her baby boy always wanted to meet All Might for so long and he had been idolizing him for as far as she could remember, but why did he sound broken and upset? This doesn't add up.

Izuku didn't answer her straight away, thinking if would it be okay to tell her about All Might's condition. He decided not to because it's unlikely she doesn't believe him, just like she doesn't believe him to be a hero. That thought made him frustrated as his mouth shifted but was suppressed. He continued. "I ask him if it's possible to become a hero even though I don't have a Quirk. Do you remember, when I ask you that question?" Inko nodded with a painful face, remembering hugging her son her dear life when she cried with him. "He... he told me I can't become a hero without powers, saying my dreams need to be attainable and realistic." His tears started forming in his eyes. "Hearing him say all that. It hurts."

Inko watched him breaking down in tears as he silently sobbed while rubbing his eyes and she was hurt to see her boy in such a state. She knew it had to be said that he was reaching the impossible dream no matter how painful it must be. Izuku is her precious son, and she loves him too much to the point she doesn't want him to get himself killed and be a hero, that's why she doesn't want to support him. With no Quirk, he can't reach that dream, it's just a fact. With him now facing a reality, he could maybe rebuild his new life and find something that wouldn't put Izuku in any danger.

Inko shifted her seat closer to him and wrapped her arm around his shoulders, hugging him tightly in an attempt to calm him down. "I'm so sorry Izuku. It must be very hard for you." Izuku continues to sob quietly as she holds him close. "I... think this could be a good opportunity for you. Have a fresh start, find a life you can at least enjoy, and maybe-"

"Is that all you have to say?" Inko was cut off by Izuku's cold, yet strained voice. She looked at her son and saw his mouth shifted into a quivering scowl. Before she does anything, he stands up immediately and faces her angrily. "Restart my whole life? As if it was easy!?"

Inko was taken aback by his anger and his raised voice, feeling utterly hurt by the way he talked to her. Trying to calm the situation, she stuttered. "I-I never said it would be easy."

"My whole life is never easy! Ever since I've been declared Quirkless, I've been beaten down and laughed at almost every day up to this point! Saying I will never achieve my dreams and that my entire existence is a mistake! Just because I am Quirkless!" Izuku shouted in fury as tears poured from his eyes, looking at his mother with anger who was shocked and hurt by what he said. "People telling me I am useless, that I am pathetic, nothing more than a worthless, good for nothing, DEKU!"

Inko was beginning to tear up at what she was hearing, watching her boy letting out his frustration and anger, and also listening to what he's been going through. She stood up and tried to get close to him, to which he took a step back. "B-baby, please, calm down. If you want, I can call the principal and stop the bullying, and maybe transfer you to another school if it's not suited for you."

"I've tried to tell the principal about what I've been going through, three times! And do you know what happened? He mocked me, saying that I deserved it for being a powerless brat! He said that to me, before beating me down for good measure!" He angrily revealed to her who gasped in shock as tears dripped from her eyes. "And even if I do get transferred to another school, it wouldn't be any different! It will be the same thing all over again!"

"Th-then we could get you into home-schooling! That way, you wouldn't have to worry about others hurting you!" Inko is beginning to break down. She couldn't stand seeing her baby boy breaking down at the tipping point and was trying to find a solution to keep him from harm. "A-and it could be a good chance for you to figure out what you want to do."

"You still don't get it, Mom!" Izuku snapped back at her, making her flinch and step back. "All I ever wanted was to become a hero! Someone who always saves people with a smile! Just like All Might! But all I got was nothing but only ridicule and belittlement, not once did I get any support or validation from everyone. Bakugo, people growing up, the teachers, All Might." He then pointed his shaking finger at his mom and growled. "Even, you."

Inko gasped silently and stared at him heartbroken, completely at a loss for words and distraught about what he said to her. "Izuku, I-I... I don't understand."

"You never once supported my dream of becoming a hero." Izuku snarled at her with anger and resentment. "It's almost like you gave up on me the moment I've been diagnosed as Quirkless!"

"Th-that's not true, Izuku!" Inko choked up, sobbing at the thought of her son blaming her. "A-all I ever wanted, w-was to see you n-not get hurt!"

"And how's that working out!?" Izuku asked her rhetorically, ignoring her sobbing as he continued. "If you seriously don't want me getting hurt then why didn't you do something to prevent that!? Sure, I'll admit, I always brush them off saying it was an accident, but you knew something was off, didn't you!?" All Inko could do was lower her head in shame, indicating he was right which got him more mad. "Why do you even bother taking care of me? You could've left with Dad when he planned to go overseas. I always bet the reason why he left was because he couldn't handle raising a Quirkless child with you!"

That is when Inko begins crying, holding her mouth with her hands as she looks at him and shouts with leaking eyes. "H-how dare you, Izuku! That's not why he left!"

"How dare I? How dare YOU!" Izuku barked at her, breathing heavily from the overflowing emotions he kept while walking home. Feeling like he had enough talking, he closed his eyes, took a quivering, deep breath, and shakingly exhaled. Izuku opened them and stared tearingly at his distraught mother. "I'm done. Done with everything." With those last words, he turned around and headed straight to the door.

"Izuku! Wait!" Inko reached her hand out to try to stop her boy, but he didn't listen and opened the door, stomped out and slammed it shut.

Silence filled the whole room as Inko's legs started to shake and eventually, she fell to her knees and cried while covering her face. She failed her son completely as a mother. She allowed all of this to happen and she did nothing to stop Izuku's pain. She never supports Izuku's dream because she's scared for his life and thanks to her ignorance and inaction to do anything, he suffers severely for it. She was terrible to him and couldn't help but agree with everything he said... but not all of it.

"I... I need to find him. Tell him how sorry I am. And tell him the truth about Hisashi." Inko thought as she wiped the tears from her eyes and stared up with determination. She stands up and heads to grab her coat, puts it around her and then puts on her heels. Making sure she got everything, she opened the door and stepped outside before closing it behind her and locking it afterwards. She looks over the balcony to see if her boy is there but no sign of him anywhere. Feeling he could not be far, she quickly went down the stairs and rushed out of the apartment area, hoping to find Izuku and bring him home.

It's been almost two hours since Izuku stormed out of the apartment, and have been walking around aimlessly just to have time for himself. The sun has now been set, leaving the sky dark with numerous stars. The boy has yet to calm down after a huge fight with his mom so he decides to continue to stay out for who knows how long.

Currently, He is inside the small shop to buy himself a drink. He took the bottle from the aisle and headed towards the cashier who didn't look a bit friendly. Putting the bottle on the counter and placing the money he had that was somewhat over the price of the drink, the cashier tells him. "That will be 552 Yen."

Izuku blinked and looked at him with a confused eyebrow. "What? But I thought it was 184 Yen?"

"It may be said that, but I raised the price." The cashier said as he looked at him with cold eyes as he placed his pointy finger on the counter between the money and the drink. "You can either spend the money on the price or don't at all. It's the store's policy."

"But the price on the aisle said it's 184 Yen," Izuku told the retailer, still confused about the sudden price. "And you suddenly not going for the price tag? Why do that?"

"Because I'm in charge in this store and what I said says so. If you can't afford to pay what I told you then you can just step aside." The cashier then gives him a taunting look. "What, your daddy didn't give you any more money today, huh?

Izuku narrowed his eyes at him when he mentioned his father. "My Dad died in the plane crash when I was six."

"Well, it's not my problem." The cashier taunted with a smirk. "Now are you gonna pay it or not, schoolboy? You're holding the line."

Izuku stares coldly at the smug cashier for a moment before letting out a tired sigh, grabbing the money from the counter and heading to the exit. but just as he leaves, the mysterious man with black trousers, a grey long-sleeved shirt, a black vest coat, sunglasses and a black winter hat which covers his hair walks up to the counter, places six cans of beer on it and 'accidentally' pushes a mini aisle to the floor next to the cashier, causing Izuku to stop and turn his attention at the scene.

"Really?" The cashier raised an eyebrow at him disappointed before shaking his head and started cleaning the floor up.

But as he cleans up, the man takes the opportunity and quickly bends over the counter to grab cash from the cash register. Just as he took them, Izuku noticed something on his left wrist, revealing a tattoo of the toxic symbol with a crown above it. After he took the cash, he turned to the boy who looked back and tossed the bottle at him which he juggled a bit before caches it. The boy looked at the bottle before looking up and saw the man rush from the counter and quickly exit the other door.

Izuku looked back at the bottle and for a moment of thinking, he shook his head and placed the bottle on the edge of the counter before leaving. As much as he wanted to take the drink, he was not going to steal it out of pettiness from the cashier who wanted to cheat and have more money. And speaking of the said cashier, he rose from up after he cleared all the mess the thief made and looked around and saw him not there, along with the money which got him in disbelief and was loss for words.

Outside, Izuku stopped between the two doors of the shop he left and placed the money he had back into his pocket. Just as he finished, the cashier ran out of the shop and yelled out. "Hey, somebody stop that guy! I'm being robbed!" He then turns towards the boy he taunted and begged. "Hey, kid. A little help?"

Izuku narrowed his eyes at him before spreading his arms out a little and replied to him with irony. "Not my problem."

The cashier looked at him in shock before turning around and running after the robber, yelling out in the hope someone would help him. Izuku shook his head as he walked ahead and later crossed the road. Just as he walked to the other path, he suddenly felt a vibration and a faint noise coming from the left side of his pocket. He took it out and saw a call from his mom, which got him to look annoyed. His mom has been trying to call him at least five times, but every time she calls he always hangs up because he feels he doesn't have the right to talk to her after what happened. Hanging her up once more, he places the phone back and starts walking, passing by the car crash as two men argue something about stopping at yellow lights. Just as he turned left of the pathway-

BANG!

(The Amazing Spider-Man OST: Ben's Death. Starts playing at 0:42)

He suddenly stopped when he heard a loud gunshot not far behind him. He turned and saw the robber standing next to someone lying on the ground before he suddenly ran off and headed towards the dark ally close to him. A sudden sense of dread filled his chest and mind as he looked at the person as he walked towards to get a closer look. Once he got closer and saw who the person was, his dread of fear came to reality as he saw a familiar woman on the ground holding the gunshot wound on her bottom chest while gasping for air.

"No..." Izuku silently gasped as he looked at her in shock and horror, shaking his head a little and moving forward. "No no no no no no no. MOM!" He rushed over and knelt beside her, Holding her raised hand tightly as he looked at the chest wound that was spreading blood on her shirt. "Mom! Mom!"

Inko barely opened her eyes, turned her gaze towards Izuku and weakly smiled. "I-Izuku..."

"I'm right here Mom. I'm right here." He assured her before raising his head and shouting out. "CALL AN AMBULANCE! SOMEONE CALL AN AMBULANCE!"

"Izuku..." Inko weakly speaks out, gaining the panicked boy's attention as she continues looking at him with a sorrowful smile. "I... I'm so sorry... Y-you ran away because of me... and it's my fault."

"No Mom. I'm the one who should be sorry." Izuku shook his head, looking at her with tears in his eyes. "I-If I didn't shout at you and left the house... and if I should've listened to you back then... then..."

"Don't... don't say sorry, Izuku," Inko assured her son with tears forming in her eyes, trying her best to hold his hand with her might. "Y-you were right. I-I never once supported your dream of being a hero... A-and I should've done something to end your pain, but I did nothing... I... I let you down, Izuku... I let you down."

"Mom..." Izuku was trying his best to hold back his tears, wanting to tell her she didn't let her down and that the blame was all on him, but didn't say anything as Inko continued.

"And you father... He-he didn't leave us because you were born Quirkless... He loved you just as much as I do... t-the reason he left was because he wanted to protect us... from the people... who were targeting him..." She tried to hold back her cough but couldn't as she turned her head aside and coughed out blood, scaring Izuku more for her life. She returns her gaze to her son. "Izuku... listen to me... there's his briefcase on the bottom drawer of my closet... H-he told me to get rid of the case if I found it before he left... I don't know why, but... but I didn't destroy it because... because it's the only thing that helps me remember him..." She stares at her son as the light of her teary eyes begins to fade. "Go... and find the briefcase... Maybe... maybe you will find something I ... wasn't able to see."

"Mom, please, stay with me!" Izuku's tears started falling at the sight of her eyes beginning to close, along with her grip starting to loosen. "I-I don't want to lose you! I don't want you to go! Stay Strong! Please!"

"I... always... love you... I-Izuku..." Inko smiled as her voice became quieter and her teary eyes were about to close. "Go... be... a hero... I... believe... in... you..."

With her final breath, her eyes finally closed, letting off a single tear that ran across the side of her face. Izuku kneeled there in shock, no longer feeling the tightened grip from her mom. His face turned into sorrow and despair, sobbing at the fact she was now dead in front of him and holding her hand to the side of his cheek. He could hear the sirens coming but he couldn't focus on anything other than his mom. He yelled at his mom, and ran away, resulting in his mom following him. He let the robber run away with the stolen money and as a result, his mom died, because he did nothing to prevent it.

"This is all my fault." He choked and sobbed as he continued grieving over his mom's death. "I'm sorry... I'm so sorry."

A.N: Prologue done! And quite the depressing start too. I hope I made this as believable as it can be since this has been quite a while since I wrote.

This story has been on my mind ever since I started writing My Hero Suicide Squad and it's been bugging me ever since. When I first started developing this, I wondered 'Who will he be?' since My Hero Suicide Squad is a DC story while this is a Marvel story. I've started making a list of Spider-Man's rogue galleries, with almost all not fit for the role because some characters from MHA have similar traits. Not to mention other stories out there have Izuku taking the role of certain characters on both Fanfiction and Wattpad so I wanted to do something different and separate.

That's where Scorpion comes to mind because he's similar to Spider-Man in terms of powers and is part of the same arachnid-based species, along with other things. While the Scorpion from the Marvel universe only has certain traits like strength, speed, and the ability to crawl on any surface like Spider-Man, I wanted to add more traits of whatever the scorpion can and one power from Spider-Man, including the trait of one hero which involves the suit he wears.

As for the romantic part of this story, which I'm quite a sucker when it comes to it, that will be different too. While stories have main characters partnered up with popular characters in movies, shows, anime, manga, and comics, I set him up with the one who is in the MHA world but isn't part of the main storyline and the spin-off version(Though the other reason why I picked her is that she reminds me of the certain cat burglar we all know and love). In fact in this story, almost all characters who are not part of the main story will be included, all with a story origin of their own.

And just to let you readers know that this is the third and FINAL MHA story. I'm not gonna make any more involving MHA after this and wanted to write stories with a different franchise. However before I do that, I need to update my other stories a little and write a couple of chapters of this first because I need to make up for lost time. I already started writing the next chapters of one of my stories, though that might take time, hopefully not too long than it already is.

So, if you like the story, feel free to fave and/or follow. Leave the review to tell me your thoughts and what I should improve in the future.

Until then, true believers, see you all in the next chapter!
