A very unforgettable shoreleave

There were shoreleaves more unforgettable than others.

The one on the Planet with the Amusement park (that was how the crew nicknamed it, to Jim's great fun and Spock's incomprehension) would certainly go down in history. A very strange shoreleave, like Jim said, a statement Dr McCoy would be the last to deny.

Everything ended well, yes, but McCoy would not forget any time soon what happened to him. It took quite some nerves of steel to become an officer in Starfleet, and even more the flagship's CMO. McCoy went through more crazy situations in a couple of months than through his entire career. He felt that he had the necessary qualities to be able to respond accordingly to all kind of situations, and that included dealing with both his very stubborn superior officiers.

But Alice in Wonderland, really ? The doctor had considered very seriously the possibility he was going mad. Because, really ?

And he didn't even want to begin to talk about him coming back to life.

Ah. At least, it gave him the possibility to get more acquainted with Tonia Barrows. Jim's new yeoman had not been exactly discreet during her last check-up. McCoy was a gentleman, but he wasn't blind, thank you very much. He had eyes, and hands, he intended to use, if Tonia's looks indeed told what she was really thinking.

Judging by her eagerness to pull him towards the forest near the river, far, very far from the Rigel II dancers, he got it right.

- Bones ? Everything alright ?

A hand sneaked on the grass, grabbing the communicator before opening it. The doctor smiled, before answering, his voice far much more relaxed than usual.

-Jim ?

The captain smiled too, amused, as he recognized the tone in his friend's voice. Sitting, he grabbed Ruth's hand, caressing it from his lips before asking :

-Just coming to check if everything is alright. Nothing to report ?

-Absolutely nothing. McCoy smiled a little bit more, sharing a look with Tonia who smiled too, before kissing his shoulder. Jim ? How long do you think we can stay here ?

Tonia straightened, and sat on his lap before leaning forwards, her skin touching his. The doctor caressed her back, pushing her closer. At the end of the line, the captain's answer was delayed, his voice distracted when he finally answered.

-At least three days ? Spock is in charge of the ship, there is nothing to worry about.

The doctor's smile increased, before he said :

-Excellent. See you in three days, then.

With a click, he turned off the communicator, before sending it into the grass, far, far away from the tree where him and his lover were hidding, far away from noizy ears. His hand slid into brown hair, as at the same time, hungry lips found his.

An unforgettable shoreleave, indeed.
