-Castelia Sewers
-Nate's PoV
Obviously, the one time I take initiative on something is when it doesn't work; and that was why I was currently trekking through the sewers with Hue. I had gone over to the Castelia Gym to see if it was open, since I knew that Gym Leaders deal with problems related to criminal organizations that are too large for police to handle and besides, I knew Rosa would come over to challenge the Gym once she was through exploring the city, so I fiugred I would make a note of where it was so I could come back to cheer her on. But when I had gotten there, I found that the Gym was closed. I was almost about to head back to my hotel room, when I noticed two figures meeting up at the front of the Gym. One of them was a girl who couldn't have been older than my age.
She was wearing the brightest pink dress I had ever seen in my life and her violet hair was sticking straight out in the air. She looked familiar, as if I had seen her somewhere before. The person she was meeting was an older man with graying hair, wearing a black three-piece suit and tie combo that made him look more distinguished than his sharp but worn features. "So, he still hasn't come back from his little trip to the sewers?", the man asked the girl. "No, he is prone to go on trips for inspiration, but I think this one is taking too long for my tastes. So have your reports given you any important infromation?"
"Yes, it would seem that the statements you have heard from two of your suboordinates are true. A criminal organization has risen up once again in the Unova region, but they seem different the one my colleague dealt with two years ago. We still haven't pieced together what they are planning. I will need the cooperation of you and people of your caliber in order to deal with the threat I fear is approaching Unova." "Agent, I would remind you that there is no one of my caliber who is available to help you, only I possess the skill that makes me worthy of my title. The old man has retired for good, spending his days off the mainlain and those two heroes have disappeared from the region. I will make sure that my suboordinates aid you whenever trouble arises with this new threat."
"Glad to see your new position hasn't gone to your head, Iris. I'll keep in touch". And then the girl and the old man both went their separate ways. I was having a hard time pieceing what I had heard. The only person I had heard of named Iris was a Dragon-type specialist who lived in Opelucid. And the old man mentioned a new threat to Unova, different from what happened two years ago?
Could this be the same people I had dealt with at Flocessy Ranch and Virbank Harbor? I figured Hue would like to hear this, so I walked through the streets to find where he and Rosa were staying at Narrow Street. I had told him what I had overheard at the Castelia Gym, so of course he dragged me over to Thumb Pier to stop the people in black, calling all sorts of unrepeatable names along the way. The two of us trekked through the murky depths of the sewer. We battled and capture the wild Pocket Monsters of the area together, namely Rattata Zubat, and Grimer and occasionally met Trainers that would only battle with me for some reason, as if Hue was invisible.
I was starting to think that maybe I had misheard the conversation when we finally spotted two people clad in black, whispering to each other and keeping away from the other Trainers in the sewers. They were wearing the same logo and uniform as the people at Virbank Harbor, and when they spotted the two of us they brought their Pocket Monsters, a Scraggy and Sandile and ordered attacks on us. Hue brought out Cornell and ordered him to combine his Leaf Tornado with Napalm's Flame Charge to knock out the Grunt's Pocket Monsters in one fell swoop. The attack was stonger than I had expected, but I would turn down a win. "How could we lose again to these ****?! ******, the boss will **** us over if we mess up another job!""Would you relax, and stop swearing in front of kids! We got the Pocket Monsters we needed to "obtain", so it's no sweat if we lose anyhow! Besides, I think our ride will be here shortly".
"What are you planning, you *******! What more can you take from me, I mean from the people of this region?", Hugh wasn't done with his rant, but a figure appeared behind the two people wearing black uniforms. It was a blond-haired man, calmly stepping through the grime of the sewers, who looked directly at me through his gleaming glasses while in his pristing white labcoat, black shirt, pants, and shoes. He was holding a white tablet that he looked at every second or two. "Not bad, the two of you beat my Grunts pretty easily. Then again, it is clear that you had help. But I see lots of potential in you"-he continued to fixate on me-"so maybe you will consider battling me sometime so I can test your strength myself".
Then he pulled out a Pocket Ball, and a green Pocket Monster with a egg-shaped head appeared and its hands glowed for a brief second before the three of them vanished completely. Hue and I couldn't even say anything before they were gone. "Where did they go, what if there are more of them still hiding out here?", Hue began to look suspiciously around us. "Nope, I think that was it. I haven't seen anyone else around here." Another figure appeared, this one a younger man wearing brighter colors and sporting a more cheerful expression.
"You're welcome for the save, by the way." "What are you talking about?", I asked him. "Did you really think you could've knocked out those Pocket Monsters on your own in one attack? My Leavanny, Mary, heard the two of you walking through the sewers and muttering curses about those Grunts, so I figured you had come to battle them. I thought I would see if you could handle yourselves. When your Snivy and Tepig countered the Grunt's Pocket Monsters, I could tell that you were novices, so I had her use Leaf Tornado also to deal with them quickly. You both need to improve on your battling skills if you intend to deal with those guys more than once. Anyways, I'm off to the Gym. I can't spend another minute in these sewers", the stranger then walked off as me and Hue pondered his words.
