So I'm currently watching this awesome show on Amazon Prime. It's so damn good and Lee Yeon is hot as hell. Ayleen is American and is portrayed by Emily Blunt. Her hair color is chestnut with a single blue and white streak. Her eyes are blue-grey. I do ship Lee Yeon with his main love interest but decided to write from another perspective. I hope fans of this show will enjoy this story as it progresses. On another note I had another wisdom tooth taken out hence how I found the show. Lmao. All characters in Tale of the Nine Tailed belong to their respective creator. I only own my OC's. Also for the who are wondering what happened to "A Phoenix's Warmth" it had to be deleted due to a review that was unacceptable. It can still be read on my Archive of Our Own under the same username here.
Ayleen's POV
"I can't believe I'm even here when I could be at home writing," I told my cousin Lydia.
"Weddings are a good place to seek out a mate" she replied.
The whole reason I was even in South Korea was due to finding my said other half. Yet I've been here six months and my fated male had yet to show himself. Wyverns such as myself and Lydia only had one mate during our lifetime. My brother-in-law was a dragon and like us, they mated for life.
A friend of Derek and Lydia's was getting married today and Lydia bless her heart somehow managed to get me invited to this ridiculous event. I didn't know the bride or groom so being here was a waste of my time. But Lydia and Derek were looking out for me so I swallowed my pride and decided to attend the ceremony and reception.
Hell, maybe I might find some inspiration for my new book. I wrote a variety of books in the fantasy, science fiction, teen, and adult genre. As of late I've had really bad writer's block.
"You look nice by the way" Lydia whispered in my ear.
The dress I wore was a pale blue. It took a while to find it but it was a gorgeous dress to wear to a wedding. I needed a drink so I waved over a waiter and took the strongest looking wine they had. The room was soon filled and I watched in boredom as the bride walked down the aisle. Not gonna lie she looked beautiful.
My inner beast suddenly woke up from her sleep. She was agitated and she bore her fangs.
"Hey did your inner Wyvern just act up?"
"Yeah," Lydia confirmed.
"Something of the supernatural is here" Derek added. "But I cannot say what right now"
I used this as an excuse to down the rest of my wine and I looked around the room trying to find out what supernatural being was here. They had to be using glamor which was a technique all supernatural's possessed so humans wouldn't detect us.
The ceremony was quick and I was ready to freaking leave already.
Bored aren't we?
You have no idea I answered my other half. Shifters could communicate with our animal counterparts. Do you know what is here?
No, whatever is present is hiding themselves
With the ceremony over the guests had to leave the room so the reception could be set up. I chose that time to watch the latest episode of House of the Dragon. I let out a growl when the other guests were voicing their displeasure or freaking out.
"What the hell is going on?" I demanded from Lydia and Derek.
"Apparently the bride had cold feet, she's gone"
Gone? How does a woman dressed in all white flee with so many people in one setting?
How indeed?
During the pandemonium, something got my attention. A man close to my age casually walked by and he was hot!
His hair was a similar color to mine and he had my inner beast's interest as well.
"I see you eyeballing that guy" Lydia teased elbowing my ribs. "Want me to introduce you two?"
I shot her a don't-you-dare-look while Derek chuckled.
Later.
I growled in frustration and shut down my laptop. I still had writer's block and I was starving. But it wasn't human food I craved but that of wild game. The closest place to hunt at this time of night was Fox Hill. There were plenty of woods in that area and I could take the bus home after I finished hunting.
But it was easier said than done to fly in my true form carrying a purse. A half-hour later I arrived at my destination and hid my purse in a tree where it wouldn't be found. Then I shifted to my true state and took flight. As a Wyvern my scales were pale blue with white embedded in them. My wing membranes, claws, and horns were also white.
I remained in the sky until I found what I was looking for. I dove down and surprised the massive buck that I snuck upon. My teeth bit into the stag's windpipe and that was all that was needed to kill it. Using my fire I cooked my prey until it was to my liking and I proceeded to devour my meal.
All that remained was a corpse and I snorted before reverting to human form. I retrieved my purse with little difficulty and headed to the bus stop. A human male drunk off his ass lay on his back while a teenage girl sat at the stop bench.
I sat down beside her and swore when I realized I still had blood on my mouth. I forgot to wash it off!
"Here miss"
The girl offered me some Kleenex and a bottle of water. I thanked her before undoing the bottle and poured water onto the Kleenex.
"Did you get into a fight?" the girl wondered.
"Nah just a nosebleed, I get them from time to time" I answered as I wiped the stag's blood from my lips.
"I hate them, they tend to come at inconvenient times" the girl added.
"Especially if you're in bed trying to get some sleep" I chuckled.
The bus was coming and I stood up at the same time the girl did. As she boarded the drunk protested about his leg. I hated seeing an innocent human being hurt so instead of getting on the bus I checked to see if the man was alright.
The poor bloke looked at me and he had a scar on his left eye in the shape of an X and it was shut. The bus driver asked if I was getting on.
"No, I'll get the next one!"
Before I could help the drunk up I noticed the same guy from the wedding!
It would seem the odds are forever in our favor my Wyvern half joked.
Now isn't the time to be quoting from "The Hunger Games" I scolded her.
My eyes didn't leave the man even as the bus pulled away.
"Miss? My leg still hurts so do you mind helping me?"
"Yes of course my apologies"
I helped the man onto his feet and hell I even got him onto my back. Carrying him wasn't easy but somehow I managed and let him back onto his feet by the sacred tree he asked me to stop at.
"Ah thank you miss, I think I'll sleep soundly tonight"
"You should get your leg looked at tomorrow when you're sober"
The human chuckled at that.
"I think I will thank you for your kindness"
A taxi chose that moment to pull up and after telling the driver where to go I turned to bid the man I helped goodnight. But he was nowhere to be found.
"Well shit" I mumbled before getting into the taxi.
A short ride later I was dropped off and an accident scene was before me. I paid the driver and asked someone what the hell happened. Apparently, everyone on the bus died except for the girl I spoke to earlier. She was being taken to the hospital and as I looked at the bus I saw blood.
I think divine intervention was involved here, we could have been on that bus and gotten seriously hurt
Agreed but that male we saw isn't here
We will see him again, I think he could be our mate
I rolled my eyes before calling it a night. I would visit the girl tomorrow to see how she was doing.
