Author's Note: Happy New Year. To start off this hope-fully good year, I've taken the liberty of uploading the first chapter of this as well as some other Marvel/Disney Channel shows. I hope I did it well.

For this fanfic, I have made Ms. Marvel in Gravity Falls. There will be some Inhuman elements in this fic too. I hope you enjoy it.

Any and all comments are welcome.

"Hey, Kimberly. Kimberly. KIMBERLY!"

The teen girl with dark-brown hair and a golden bolt on her shirt turned to her boss, an elderly man in a suit and fez with a strange fish-like symbol on it. "You talking to me, Mr. Pines?"

"That's your name, isn't it?"

"No, sir. It's Kamala, Kamala Khan. It's Muslim."

Stan Pines, the owner of the Mystery Shack knick-knack shop, sighed in exhaustion. "Whatever. Look, break time's over, so I need you to nail signs in the forest."

"By myself?" Kamala asked. "Sir, you know the woods is no safe place for children."

"What, are you afraid of a squirrel?" Stan asked. "Fine. Let's go find you a buddy."

Kamala had been reading a comic book during her break, but now that it was over, she put it away in her pocket and followed her boss to the front of the shop. There were four people there at the time besides them. One was a fat man with a dark-green hat and a matching shirt that had a question mark. The counter was being worked on by a red-headed teen girl with a flannel shirt and a fur trapper hat. The last two were a pair of twin siblings, a brother and a sister. The sister was a pre-teen with braces and a red sweater that had a shooting star on it leaving a rainbow trail. Her twin brother wore a red shirt and a black jacket. He also hot on a brown baseball hat with a star on it.

"Look alive, people." Stan called out for everyone to hear. "I need someone to go with… Kamala?"

"That's right."

"Okay. And hammer signs out in the spooky part of the forest."

"Not it!" said the pre-teen boy, Dipper.

"Not it!" repeated his sister, Mabel.

"Also not it." Said the fat man, Soos.

"Nobody was asking you, Soos." Stan said.

"I know, and I'm comfortable with that." Soos said before eating a chocolate bar.

"Wendy," Stan called out to the red-headed counter girl, "I need you to go with Kamala and hammer these signs."

'I would, but I just can't reach." Wendy said barely even putting her arm out.

"I'd fire all of you if I could." Stan said. "Okay then. Let's make it… Eenie, meenie, miney… You." He pointed at Dipper.

"Oh, man." Dipper groaned. "Grunkle Stan, whenever I'm in those woods, I feel like I'm being watched."

"This again." Stan groaned.

"I'm serious." Dipper said. "Something weird is going on with this town. Just today, my mosquito bites spelled out 'BEWARE'." He held out his bite-covered arm for his great uncle to see.

"That says 'BEWARB'." Stan corrected. "Look, kid, the whole 'monsters in the forest' thing is just local legend, drummed up by guys like me to sell merch to guys like that." He pointed at a fat, sweaty man who giggled over a bobblehead. "So quit being paranoid."

Dipper sighed as he was given the signs that needed to be hammered. Kamala approached him nervously.

"On the plus side, this could give us a chance to better know each other."

"Yeah, I guess." Dipper said.

Out in the forest, Dipper and Kamala continued to nail Mystery Shack signs to the trees. Dipper grumbled to himself, but it wasn't quiet as Kamala could hear him.

"Grunkle Stan. Nobody ever believes anything I say."

"Hey, I know you're mad at your great uncle," Kamala said, "But Gravity Falls isn't that bad."

"How could you not see any of the weird stuff?" Dipper asked.

"Dipper, my family's from Pakistan, a whole other country. Everything seems weird to us. It just takes a bit of an open mind to get used to all this. Perhaps you need something to keep you entertained during your summer vacation here."

"Yeah? Like what?"

"Like… Ooh! What about this?" Kamala reached in her back pocket and pulled out the comic she was reading earlier. The cover showed a blonde woman with a red and blue bodysuit on with a golden star at the center. Dipper read the title on the cover.

"Captain Marvel?"

"Yeah! She's like the coolest superhero in the history of comic books!" Kamala said. "When I first moved here with my family, it was hard to fit in. But then, I bought my first Captain Marvel comic, and ever since, I never lost my confidence. I would really love to be just like her."

"Yeah… but I don't think superheroes are my thing." Dipper said. "I just need something that can help me understand this town better."

Dipper turned to continue putting up signs. But as he hit the nail on one of the trees, an unusual sound was heard that got both his and Kamala's attention. It was a metal clanging noise that came from the tree that was supposedly wood.

"What was that?" Kamala asked.

"I don't know." Dipper said as he felt around the tree. Suddenly, he felt a small opening. He observed what was inside the tree and saw a mechanical box with levers on it. "What's this?"

Dipper flipped a switch, and then, something made Kamala trip. The ground underneath her foot moved revealing a secret compartment.

"You okay?" Dipper asked as he approached the hole.

"I'm fine, but what's that?" Kamala asked.

Dipper reached inside and found a large book covered in dust. He blew it off and observed the cover, which was an image of a left hand that had six fingers on it. At the center of the hand, the number 3 was displayed in black.

"Okay, this is weird, even for this town." Kamala said. "What's up with that book?"

Dipper scrolled through the pages studying the contents written in it. "It looks like some kind of journal. This entry here reads as such, 'It's hard to believe it's been six years since I began studying the strange and wondrous secrets of Gravity Falls, Oregon'."

"Someone else has been looking at this town?" Kamala asked. "Any idea who wrote this?"

"I can't find the name." Dipper said. "But take a look at this entry here. 'Unfortunately, my suspicions have been confirmed. I'm being watched. I must hide this book before he finds it. Remember: in Gravity Falls, there is no one you can trust.'"

"He? Who's he?" Kamala asked.

"It doesn't say that either." Dipper said. "All this time, I knew there was something strange about this town, and this journal may have all the answers. Huh? What's this?" He noticed something small lodged in between two pages. He turned them to find a long, thin crystal in a shade of dark blue.

"Someone's into crystals." Kamala said taking the crystal for a better look. "Who would…"

"HELLO!" Mabel greeted from out of nowhere. Her surprise appearance took Dipper and Kamala completely by surprise.

Kamala's startle made her drop the crystal she had on her and it fell onto a nearby rock. Once it hit, the crystal shattered instantly and a blue whiff of smoke burst out. The wind blew the smoke right at the three kids.

"Mabel!" Dipper cried out. "Do you know what you've done?"

"I just wanted to see how you guys were doing." Mabel said. "You know, the woods can be pretty romantic."

"What?" Kamala asked suddenly blowing the smoke away. "Mabel, you've got the wrong idea. Dipper and I barely know each other. We're just new friends at best."

"That's not even the pressing issue right now." Dipper said. "We found this journal and… Kamala, don't panic."

"Huh?" Kamala asked looking at Dipper. "Why?" She got her answer when she looked down at her hands and feet. She disobeyed Dipper and began to cry out in fear. Then again, who could blame her? After all, she was quickly being covered by a strange, black mineral that crept over her entire body.

Kamala tried to fight it, but everything that was petrified stood immediately still. "Help! Somebody help! What's happening?" Kamala panicked as the mineral made its way to her head. She stopped struggling once she was completely covered.

Dipper stared in absolute horror along with Mabel at their friend. "Oh, boy! Oh, boy! Oh, boy! Oh, boy!"

"Dipper, what happened?" Mabel asked. "What happened to Kamala?"

"I don't know!" Dipper responded. "This shouldn't be possible! Maybe it has to do with that smoke that came out of that crystal! But how are we fine?"

"Uh, Dipper, what do we do?" Mabel asked. "How do we tell Grunkle Stan?"

"We can't! Not until we know what's wrong with her!" Dipper yelled out. "We've got to fix this!"

It took a lot of effort, but Dipper and Mabel managed to drag the Kamala statue back to the Mystery Shack without anyone noticing. They set her up in their room after which, they took a minute to breathe.

"This is so messed up." Dipper commented. "Grunkle Stan said I was being paranoid, but there's definitely something weird about Gravity Falls. And now, Kamala's caught in the middle of it all."

"Well, how do we fix it?" Mabel asked.

"I don't know." Dipper pulled out the newly-discovered journal and flipped through the pages. "There's a ton of weird stuff in this journal that apparently makes up half of the town. Curses, monsters, secret puzzles. I don't know if there's something like this statue stuff here. It could take me hours to study all this."

"We don't have that kind of time!" Mabel cried out. "Any minute now, Grunkle Stan's going to ask where Kamala is? How are we supposed to explain to him that…"

CRACK!

The sound of rocks splitting caught the twins off-guard. They turned to see a crack beginning to form on the statue's chest. They began to panic once the crack grew.

"OH, THIS IS BAD!" Dipper yelled out. "SHE'S COMING APART!"

"I'LL GO GET THE GLITTER GLUE!" Mabel yelled out. But before she could leave the room, the rock fell apart, and Kamala was fine.

After escaping her encasement, Kamala dropped on her hands and knees coughing out a bit of rock dust. She shook herself awake before standing back up on her feet.

"Whoa. What happened?" Kamala asked. That's when both Dipper and Mabel rushed over to hug her.

"Oh, thank goodness you're okay!" Mabel cheered.

"We thought you were gonna be trapped as a statue forever!" Dipper said.

"Huh?" Kamala asked. "Look, I don't know what's going on, but I know that after getting out of those rocks, I need a nap. And I think I need to go home."

"Oh. Of course." Dipper said. "We'll go over everything when you feel better."

"Thanks guys." Kamala said.

"Well, since you're gone, I guess you'll miss out on the chance of meeting my boyfriend." Mabel said proudly.

"Wait. Since when did you get a boyfriend?" Dipper asked.

After coming home, Kamala was welcome back by her mother, Muneeba, and her father, Yusuf. When asked how her day was, she said it was uneventful. She didn't want to tell them about the crystal that turned her into a statue because they would either not believe her or not allow her to work at the Mystery Shack again. Either way, she had to pretend none of it ever happened.

After putting away all her things, Kamala took a breath of great exhaustion and rested in her bedroom. She rested for an hour before feeling better. She saw that the sun was about to set, so she readied herself again before heading back to her parents.

"Where are you going?" Muneeba asked.

"I gotta meet up with Dipper and Mabel for something." Kamala said. At least this wasn't a lie.

"This late?" Muneeba asked.

"I'll be home. I promise."

"Ah, well, I don't see why not." Yusuf said. "Just be sure to text us when you arrive. Wouldn't want you to get lost."

"Thank you, Abu." Kamala said. She hugged her parents before leaving the house.

Kamala made it safely to the backyard of the Mystery Shack. She texted her parents that she was safe and approached the gift shop. But before she could, a loud breaking sound in the woods stopped her. When she saw the cart fly out of the forest, Kamala jumped away. She got up just as Dipper and Mabel got out.

"Dipper! Mabel! What happened?" she asked. "Dipper, where's your hat?"

"FORGET THAT!" Mabel cried out. "LOOK!"

Kamala turned and saw something that she never would have expected to see. A colossal figure emerged. It looked like a red, monstrous gnome monster, and it was made up of a bunch of little gnomes in red, pointy hats. One of them stood at the tip of the hat controlling them.

"WHAT'S GOING ON HERE?!" Kamala asked.

"Yeah… Turns out my new boyfriend wasn't human!" Mabel said. "I thought he was a vampire!"

"I thought he was a zombie!" Dipper said.

"Turns out, we were both wrong! He's just a bunch of creepy gnomes who want to kidnap and marry me! That guy at the top is their leader, Jeff!"

"It's the end of the line, kids!" Jeff said. "Mabel, marry us before we do something crazy!"

"THIS ISN'T CRAZY?!" Kamala asked as she stood between the gnomes and the twins. "Listen, you circus of lawn ornaments, leave Mabel alone! It's clear she doesn't want this!"

"You stay out of this! This doesn't concern you!" Jeff yelled. He motioned for his gnome giant to step closer.

Kamala didn't move away. In fact, she got herself ready to push, even though she knew it was impossible.

"I said… leave… her… ALONE!" Kamala yelled out as she thrusted her hands.

Suddenly, as she pushed, her hands expanded to a bigger and wider size. The hands became big enough to break the giant gnome apart upon impact. Jeff was pushed so hard, he went flying backwards into the forest. As soon as Kamala, Dipper, and Mabel found out what just happened, their jaws dropped while gnomes were scattered everywhere. They then retreated back into the forest.

Kamala's hands began to shrink back down to normal size. Though they were back to normal, Kamala couldn't help but keep staring at them. She looked on over to Dipper and Mabel who shared her shocked expression.

"What was that?" Dipper asked.

"I… I don't know." Kamala answered. "I honestly don't know."

After gathering their bearings, the kids returned inside the Mystery Shack. Stan Pines was there counting bills of money. As soon as he noticed the mess the three were in, he commented.

"Yeesh. You three get hit by a bus or something? Hey. Wouldn't you know it? Um, I accidentally overstocked some inventory. So how's about each of you take one item from the gift shop? On the house, y'know?"

"Really?" Mabel asked.

"What's the catch?" Dipper asked.

"The catch is, do it before I change my mind. Now take something."

The twins found their things. Dipper got a new hat that had a blue pine tree on it. Mabel got herself a grappling hook. Meanwhile, Kamala found a blue domino mask that she could wear around her eyes. She liked how she looked in the mirror.

After which, the three went on up to the twins' bedroom where they finally addressed the elephant in the room.

"So… you can grow your hands." Dipper said to Kamala.

"Not just that." Kamala said. "I think I have stretching powers."

"That's awesome!" Mabel yelled out.

"It must have been that crystal smoke." Dipper said. "You breathed it in, you turned into a statue for a time, and when you come out, you're super elastic."

"But you and I breathed that stuff too." Mabel said. "Why didn't we get powers?"

"I don't know." Dipper said. "Kamala must be special somehow."

"I know I'm special, but this is really bizarre." Kamala said. "Did you find anything about this in that journal you found?"

"Not really." Dipper said. "I spent most of the day trying to be certain that Mabel's boyfriend was a zombie."

"Well, about that," Mabel said, "Dipper, I'm sorry for ignoring your advice. You really were just looking out for me."

"Oh. Yeah. Don't mention it." Dipper said.

"I'm just sad that my first boyfriend turned out to be a bunch of gnomes."

Kamala shrugged with a chuckle. "Hey. Maybe next time, it will be a vampire."

Mabel shared her humor. "You're just saying that."

"Hey." Dipper said holding out his arms to his sister. "Awkward sibling hug?"

"Awkward sibling hug." Mabel said hugging her brother. They both patted each other on the backs twice which made Kamala smile.

"It looks like we've got our work cut out for us." Kamala said. "I got powers. You two were attacked by gnomes. Dipper found a strange journal in the middle of the forest. And somehow, I doubt that'll be the weirdest thing we're gonna encounter."

"Right." Dipper agreed. "It all must be connected somehow. Our uncle told us there was nothing strange in this town. But who knows what other secrets are waiting to be unlocked?"

Once he was sure nobody was there, Stan went into the gift shop and approached the vending machine. But he didn't put any coins in. Instead, all he did was press a few buttons. After that, the machine opened up a secret passageway behind it. Stan looked side to side suspiciously before heading inside and closing the machine behind him.

This summer vacation was starting to get weird and marvelous.
