"No looking back," Sybbie told herself as she left the hangar for the night. There were rumors of something big happening in the morning, and she had just finished tuning up Charlie's plane. Every item on the checklist had been checked and double checked. There was nothing more for her to do. Perhaps pray. She hadn't been in the habit of doing that.
"Where are you going, Sybbie?" Sally asked.
"I don't know. Perhaps some drinks. Want to come?"
"I suppose we won't be needed tomorrow morning. I'm not tired."
"I know I won't sleep at all tonight. Let's go."
