Morning came at 9 am for Amon and Robin. Robin woke to find herself hugging Amon's arm. She glanced up, finding Amon's head was hung low and asleep. Staring up at his black hair that had created a curtain around his sharp facial features, Robin knew he was going to be sore since he had fallen asleep like that. Robin carefully sat up, hoping not to wake him, she carefully reached out and brushed his black locks behind one of his ears. His hair was incredibly soft,

"Amon…hey, if you continue…" Robin being interrupted by a phone ringing in the other room, Robin grimaced, Amon's brow furrowed, and a yawn escaped his lips as his heavy eye lids opens.

"Hey did you sleep?" Amon asked as he rolled his neck and grunted as he lifted a hand to work out the kinks in his neck and shoulders. He glanced over at the clocked,

"Hn, get dressed we're already late." Amon explained. Carefully and slowly, he got out from behind her, they did their morning routine but skipped breakfast. When Robina and Amon arrived at the office the girls came to Robin.

"How is Father Juliano?" Karasuma asked, Robin shrugged,

"He is in the hospital and is being cared for. I just want to work today." Robin mumbled,

"Sure, are you alright?" Karasuma asked.

"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine." Robin explained,

"It's a bit slow today so we have been putting some cases into the computer. There is a stack of cases on your desk." Karasuma explained. Robin nodded as she walked over and sat down. She took out her iPod and put the plugs in her ears and started putting the cases into the computer. Karasuma took Amon off to the side,

"What happened out there in Italy?" Karasuma asked. Amon looked over at Robin and back at Karasuma, he knew what was bothering her, but he decided to make it seem as if something else was bothering her.

"She went back to the church to look for Father Juliano. No one bothered to clean the church floors." Amon whispered as he crossed his arms over his chest. Karasuma's eyes widened a fraction, Amon gave a slight nod,

"How is she doing? You know with seeing all that blood?" Karasuma asked quietly.

"She had night terrors again. Today is not a good day to give her busy work like this." Amon glancing at Robin again, he knew that Robin wasn't stupid, with them standing away from everyone else, everyone knew Amon was explaining to Karasuma bits of what had happened.

"She shouldn't be out in the field either. Go, go train with her, she needs to release stress. Training would probably get her mind off things." Karasuma explained.

"Good idea. If something comes up come get me." Amon explained, he walked over to Robin's desk,

"You are with me today." Amon leaving the office,

"What are we doing?" Robin asked as she practically jumped at the chance to get out from behind the computer, they were in the hallway,

"We are training today." Amon explained,

"Hn." Robin following him down to the basement gym. She changed into some workout clothes, a white short sleeve shirt that was made of a material that would soak up the sweat and leave her cool along with the same kind of workout pants that were black. Amon changed into a short black sleeve shirt and a pair of white pants that was made from the same material.

"Stretch first." Amon suggested,

"Do you want to run through the program today?" Robin asked.

"Today you need to use your fists." Amon explained.

"I don't understand." Robin stretching,

"You need to do hand to hand with me today." Amon explained as he grabbed her shoulders. Robin was quiet, she knew what he was wanting her to do,

"Amon…I…" Robin being interrupted,

"I cannot fathom what is going on inside your head, but I think I have an idea from seeing the blood of…" Amon being interrupted, Robin shoved him off her. He nodded, she didn't want to hear about it when she had seen it with her own eyes. The blood of her guys staining the floorboards, her blood that Amon had barely stopped her from walking in.

"That's it, come at me." Amon raising his hands to fight or to block. Robin threw a punch, Amon dodged, she threw another punch and he dodged, she swung her leg low, and he jumped. He noticed her moves weren't sloppy, she was making every effort to hit him and kick his legs out from underneath him.

"Good, come on Robin, hit me." Amon encouraged her, Robin continued to do everything in her power to him, she was even speeding up with her punches and kicks, but Amon was blocking everything she threw at him until she jumped up and swung around with her foot and kicked him in the head. Amon staggered back, but she continued to throw her punches and kicks. Finally, she fell to her knees, she had exhausted herself, Amon knelt down,

"I'm here." Amon whispered, Robin leaned her sweaty forehead against his chest.

"I don't belong anywhere." Robin whispered,

"What?" Amon narrowed his eyes,

"My parents, they gave me to my grandfather, then he gave me to STN-J. I have never truly belonged." Robin whispered. He could feel her tears soaking his shirt, he pulled her away and raised her chin and made sure to look her in the eye. When her head was raised, she saw the busted lip and a small spot by his brow bleeding. She tried wiping the blood from the corner of his lip, but he stopped her.

"You are my partner, Robin. Your place is by my side through thick and thin I will stay by your side as well. Do you need more training today or have you released the pain and hurt for today?" Amon asked,

"Yeah, I'm done…for today." Robin slowly standing, Amon helped her up.

"You really should not keep promises you can't afford to keep." Robin mumbled, Amon grabbed her wrist, she turned around, he held the side of her neck,

"I will keep this promise. I could never betray you, Robin." Amon staring in her green eyes. She put her hand to his wrist that held her neck,

"One day you may have to. I will not let what happened to my family happened to you." Robin gently removing his hand and walking away.

Thanksgiving

Everyone had the day off and Amon and Robin were both cooking all morning and jamming to music, er, Robin was at least, Amon was just as much as his brooding self. Robin seemed to be in a good mood and her spirits were high. She was cooking a few things Harry had taught her.

"Give this a taste and see if it needs more salt." Robin holding a spoon with a hand under it to catch any drips, Amon bent down as Robin fed him.

"Hm, its perfect." Amon nodded,

"Good." Robin getting a hot pad to protect the kitchen bar counter from the hot pot.

"Who is going to eat all of this?" Amon asked,

"We are remember, you are supposed to be working out." Robin explained.

"I have been." Amon huffed,

"We could take some to Michael and your brother." Robin explained, Amon nodded, Robin's phone was going off, she ran over and picked it up, answering before even looking at the caller.

"Father Juliano, hi." Robin's smile fading fast,

"Happy Thanksgiving to you. Um, I am here at Amon's place cooking dinner tonight. How are you feeling?" Robin asked curtly, her tension building. Amon focused on cooking, but he could feel her giving off heat.

"I don't want it." Robin trying to stay calm,

"No, I said I don't want it so stop trying to give it to me." Robin closing her eyes as the overhead light in the smalling dining area busted,

"Look, Amon just dropped some soup and I need to help him clean it up. Goodbye Father Juliano." Robin hanging up. Amon was by her side and already picking some of the broken lightbulb out of her hair.

"You aren't hurt, are you?" Amon looking her over,

"I'm alright. Just don't let the food burn. I'll clean this up." Robin mumbled. She turned her phone off and threw it onto the couch and went to get a broom. That night they sat in silence with tension building still. Amon left the table and got something from the fridge. When he came back, he had two glasses and poured Robin's glass first.

"Thank you." Robin giving him a small smile, he nodded as he walked around to his chair and poured a glass for himself. He had noticed Robin still used formalities with her grandfather. It wasn't as if Father Juliano had ever tried being Robin's grandfather, the way Robin spoke of him he was more of a ruthless trainer to her.

Teaching her hard and fast, unrelenting as far as Amon could tell since she had tried to save herself when her balcony had collapsed. All that stuff she had seen and the attack on her home in Italy. If Father Juliano had not trained her so well, she would never have survived that attack on her and her men.

"Robin, you need to finish eating." Amon explained softly, he watched as she just played in her food with a spoon and stared at nothing. Her eyes had a far away look in them, he came around from behind her catching her off, she swung at him, but he caught her wrist, before she could hit him, although he wasn't prepared for her to swing with her other hand and that's what she did, she took her other fist and tried slamming it into his face. He ducked, then caught her hand,

"Robin, I am not going to allow you to hurt yourself." Amon pulling her tight against his chest,

"Its not fair." Robin shouted at him, she tried to jerk free, but he had a good grip on her,

"Why? Why did they both have to leave me?" Robin whispered. Amon held the back of her head and had his other arm wrapped tight around her waist.

"I don't know Robin." Amon closing her eyes. He wanted to cry for her because the way her parents died, they had been selfish, they had left her with only her grandfather to raise her, which he had never revealed that he was family, until now.

"I've got you." Amon clearing his throat, instead of crying he found himself getting pissed, he was pissed because no one had told her how her parents died, and he was pissed that the old man never told her they were family.

~Who does that to a kid?~ Amon's hold on her growing tighter, he sat her down on the couch and gave her the bottle of her favorite wine. He knew she wasn't going to eat so the next best thing was to let her get drunk and deal with the aftermath. Robin threw it back, as she closed her eyes she saw her guys, they were at her little Thanksgiving party too and laughing and being drunk.

Robin started laughing and she wasn't even drunk yet. Amon ate by himself as he watched Robin keep drinking. That old man's voice playing over in his head, explaining how the locket was her mother's and how her parents died. He got up and grabbed a beer, he came over and sat by Robin, she had some wine glasses semi full, one for each of her guys.

"Hey guys, say hi to Amon. He is my new partner." Robin putting a hand to his shoulder,

"Say hi Amon." Robin explained,

"Hi, thanks for having her back all this time." Amon raising his can of beer deciding to play along.

"They said that I'm their sis that they could never let me down. They said that you are doing one hell of a job of looking out for me." Robin giggled as she threw back more wine. He could see over half the bottle was gone, he heard her mumbling about the time one of her guys shot himself in the foot with a gun. She busted out tiny snickers,

"That was funny." Robin pointing to just air. Amon watched her as she finished the bottle, she then went and grabbed the semi full glasses and threw them back. Amon got up and threw his can away and started packing up the food they had made. There was a knock at the door,

"Someone's here guys." Robin perked up. Amon walked over to the door,

"Its Harry." the voice called out, Amon walked over to the door and unlocked it. There was Harry and Nagira,

"Hey, it's a party! Come meet my guys!" Robin slurred, Harry and Nagira stared at Amon, he shook his head as he shut the door.

"Hey, Robin, we came with some pie." Nagira explained.

"Hm, we will try it later, right guys?" Robin asked to the empty air around her,

"They say thanks." Robin smiling big.

"Yeah, it's no problem. How are you doing?" Nagira asked with a concerned expression on his face as he glanced at Amon.

"Did you know I have a grandfather all this time?" Robin asked,

"Really, who is her?" Nagira asked,

"Father Juliano, yeah, he explained to me how my parents were both consumed by my mom's flame, that they loved each other so much that they died together. Isn't that so sweet?" Robin asked. Nagira looked for help from Harry and Amon, Harry came over as Nagira walked over to Amon,

"She is seeing her dead teammates?" Nagira whispered,

"Hm." Amon continuing to clean the table. Amon glanced over and Harry had her head in his lap,

"What the hell happened?" Nagira asked,

"Her grandfather called, I think he is still trying to give her the locket her mother left behind. I couldn't get her to eat anything after that." Amon whispered. Nagira grabbed two rolls walked over,

"Hey, here you need to eat some rolls at least, soak up some of that alcohol." Nagira explained. Robin offered her 'guys' some bread first then shrugged,

"More for me then." Robin taking a bite of a roll. Amon and Harry glanced up at her as she ate the cold rolls, they finished putting the food away, Amon came over and picked her up, but she fought him.

"Now, now, little love bird, let your little mate carry you to bed." Nagira sighed,

"But my guys…they need me…" Robin mumbled.

"They are always going to be here." Nagira explained,

"Mkay." Robin nuzzling into Amon. Amon carried her into her room and shut the door. Harry and Nagira looked at one another and figured it was a bad time, so they left. Amon carefully laid her on top of the blankets, he heard the door to the apartment shut and knew they had left, he sighed as he turned and ran his fingers through his hair, he felt a tug on his long sleeve button up black shirt, he saw her hand,

"Don't let me be consumed by my powers." Robin slurred out, Amon's eyes raised to meet her green orbs.

"What?" Amon narrowed his eyes at her.

"I don't want to be consumed by my powers. I want you…you need to kill me before that happens." Robin getting up on her knees in the bed. Amon crushed her to his chest,

"You aren't going to be consumed by your powers, I promise you." Amon petting her hair that she had curled a little for their party.

"Thank you." Robin letting out a relieved sigh, he couldn't get her to pull away, so he just crawled into bed and laid down with her.

"I am not going anywhere." Amon explained, Robin just nodded, she wouldn't let go of his neck, he just kept petting her hair. He didn't know how much time had passed but he found she had unwrapped her arms and buried herself in his chest. Gently he pushed her hair back behind her ear, he realized they had gone through the same thing, they had both lost their mothers due to losing control over their powers.

He thought about it for a minute, he knew it wasn't exactly like Robin's parents, she never got to know them, and she grew up a orphan, her grandfather never told her who he was. Could she have actually handled her mother getting to the point of not knowing who she was and attacking her? Slowly he pulled away and left the room, his thoughts about to drive him nuts.

~Is this what is laid out for us?~ Amon asked himself, he couldn't let it happen to her or to him, they wouldn't lose control and he would personally see to it.
