Jamie loved watching Eddie grow. He loved seeing the light in her eyes. She was glowing. She was currently having a nap on their living room couch, while Cora slept in her crib in the nursery. He knelt down next to Eddie and snaked a hand under the blanket to find the small bump beginning to form on her lower abdomen under her shirt. He rubbed the slight bump protectively and gave a warm silent smile. Eddie shifted and cracked opened her eyes. Her voice was raspy from sleep.

"Hmm. Your hand is warm. When did you get in?"

Jamie took a seat on the end of the couch and pushed the blanket back, exposing her bare feet. The silent smile stayed on his face as he began to massage her left foot.

"About half an hour. Have you eaten anything?"

Eddie stretched and slowly sat up, causing Jamie to stop massaging her foot.

"I had a chicken salad earlier?"

Jamie made a face at Eddie and put the back of his hand to her forehead.

"You eating a chicken salad? Eddie, are you ok?"

Eddie giggled and play swatted Jamie's hand.

"I promised myself I'd eat semi-healthier for this pregnancy. Although the baby really wants a steak."

Jamie cocked his head to the side and leaned in for a kiss. He let it turn deep for a minute before the couple broke for air.

"Mmm, how about I make you some of my killer pancakes instead?"

Eddie's eyes lit up and she slowly took the blanket from over her, refolding it and placing it on the back of the couch. Getting to her feet, she shivered.

"It's cold in here. Could you get me my fuzzy socks bub? My feet are cold."

Jamie was up and down the stairs in a flash, all while checking on Cora, who was fast asleep. He hadn't realized how late it was until he looked at the clock on the stove.

"Wow. It's 11:30. Cora should be down for the night."

Eddie slowly entered the kitchen and wrapped her arms around his waist as he poured the pancake batter into the pan on the stove. Placing her chin on his right shoulder, she sighed.

"It's nice to share a meal together. I feel like sometimes we don't even see each other."

Jamie felt his gut twist with guilt. He watched the batter simmer for a minute and then answered Eddie.

"I'll cut back on the overtime babe. But we do need the money. We've barely had this house a year and a half. It's nice that we can walk to dad and pop's when its nice out."

Eddie gasped and slid her arms away from Jamie's waist. Jamie taking the finished pancake off the pan and from the stove to a plate, he turned down the stove and looked at Eddie with a concerned gaze. She took a seat in a chair at the kitchen table.

"I think… I think the baby just kicked…"

Jamie always the concerned husband was currently in doctor mode right now. Kneeling down in front of Eddie, he placed a hand on top of hers.

"Your 14 weeks, and it's early, but it's possible."

A small smile came to Eddie's face.

"There it is again."

Jamie got a disappointed look on his face.

"Unfortunately, right now, I can't share that particular milestone with you. Only you can feel them kicking."

Now Eddie got disappointed look on her own face.

"Well, that isn't fair. I can still remember the first time I felt Cora kick. It was much later, and you and I shared that moment together. I guess with this one you'll have to wait for a few more weeks until we can both share in that particular moment."

Removing his hand, Jamie placed a kiss off to the left of Eddie's.

"Daddy loves you."

Eddie tipped Jamie's head up by placing a hand under his chin.

"We both love you, but we want your killer pancakes. Short stack please."

Getting to his feet, Jamie nodded and went back over to the stove. It took another ten minutes to make enough pancakes for the both of them. Setting two plates with two short stacks on them, Jamie watched as Eddie dug into her pancakes.

"Mmm, bub, how do you make these pancakes taste so delicious?"

Jamie raised an eyebrow and smirked at her.

"Well, there is one way to get the secret to my killer pancakes out of me."

Eddie gave Jamie a look that he wasn't quite sure he could even read.

"It's your mom's secret recipe isn't it?"

Jamie shook his head and pulled Eddie to her feet after she finished off the last of her pancakes.

"No. If you really must know, a little bit of vanilla."

Eddie leaned closer to Jamie and gave a small laugh.

"That's it? A little bit of vanilla?"

Jamie nodded and kissed her forehead.

"That's it. Now it's late. I'm going to head up and take a shower. You want to climb into bed or…"

Eddie felt her jaw drop.

"Jamie Reagan! Are you asking me what I think you're asking?"

Jamie continued smirking and made his way towards the stairs after he loaded up the dishwasher and started it.

"It's only a suggestion. You do look tired though. Maybe you should lie down and wait for me."

Eddie climbed the stairs and put her hands on her hips when they reached their bedroom.

"Do I look tired to you bub? I think I just got my second wind…"

Jamie continued to smirk at Eddie.

"Well…"
