Chapter 15

It would be a month after the incident.

Shin has been working harder and harder each day to get his method down. In one week, he managed to shave five seconds off. He has been looking at other methods and techniques, but his focus has been the one of Choso and his uncle when they use piercing blood.

His uncle Junpei has been helping him the most and yet…

"Uncle… where are your kids?"

He snickered a little to that. "Ah, about that… you see, my wife and my sisters in law took all the kids to the dragon hunting ground of Ether. They were there during the incident, and they have gone back for now. The kids are growing and they are starting to get more and more independent…"

He paused to this. "Uncle… aren't the Fushiguros older?" he asked.

"They are."

"How come they aren't acting like that?"

"Everyone is different, also take into consideration, their father wasn't a dragon when he and Tiamat got… together."

"Nor were you,"

He paused. "Fair point, honestly I have no idea!" he laughed. "But, I guess it means we wait a thousand years before we have more kids… perhaps that's part of this curse too the uncle casted on my wife and her sisters. They children grow up so fast, there is no time to enjoy them…"

Harsh.

"Anyways how is the method coming along?"

Shin explained that piercing blood is the better method, however… "It's getting the energy from point A to B, when you use piercing blood, you already have the blood ready to go, it's just condensing it down until you can do a pure shot. For me though, I got two channels. They have to interact when they get to my hands… it's the whole process of it all!" he said in a frustrated tone.

His uncle nodded in agreement. "It's true, but the fact is your are still thinking and considering how to use it to your advantage…"

"Yeah, easier said than done…" Shin muttered bitterly.

"Has Sukuna said anything?"

Shin snorted a laugh. "I got it down five seconds, originally he told me to get it down to fifteen, but after shaving five seconds off… it's now ten!" he protested.

Junpei sighed and nodded. "Man, he's really gonna push you kids… but his methods… although brutal… are usable. I've even benefited!"

"Really?" Shin asked.

Uncle Junpei explained how he was inspired by Shin's father in teleporting. He wanted to make a method himself. Sukuna didn't quite help at first, he merely watched on to see how he would do it, only to tell him a week later that the technique he had was flawed and was doomed to fail from the start.

"Why did it take him a week to tell you?" Shin asked.

"Apparently, I wouldn't learn anything if he had just flat out told me… according to him… at the same time, I never made that mistake again." he said with a defeated sigh. "So, as such, since I too benefited from the bastard… no offence… I can't question his methods all that much. He IS the King of Curses… again"

Shin smirked and nodded. It was just good to know that he and his siblings are not suffering alone from this.

"Okay, back to the grind…" Shin said with a sigh as he sat up once more.

"I think you have the right idea, but perhaps the problem isn't in your hand movements… It's…"

"THREE MOUTHED BRAT! WHERE ARE YOU!?"

They shuttered at Sukuna's voice booming! Shin peered off to the side and saw Oji approaching, he was smiling wickedly. "There you are, I need to borrow you." He said.

Junpei didn't get a chance to answer him, in fact, Oji grabbed Junpei by his belt and carried him off like luggage!

"Weird…" Shin muttered as he was left alone.

What was it that Uncle Junpei said… it may not be in the hand movements… he paused to peer at his hands for a moment. Then, he closed his eyes to focus on his energy…

Energy…

"It's not the hand movements, it's the flow of curse energy!" he said in amazement. "That's it! Don't have to increase my hand movements, I have to increase my flow!" He was pleased with this discovery, but then paused. "GAH HOW DO I EVEN DO THAT!?"

If it wasn't one thing, it's another.

"Having trouble?"

Shin saw his aunt approaching. "Since when has Oji let you leave the house?" he asked and snickered.

She laughed back of course.

"I know it's funny isn't it?" she said with a giggle. "I also heard he is working hard in helping you and your siblings…"

Shin nodded, he explained he found the flaw in his technique thinking it was the movement of his arms, when in reality it is the flow of curse energy. "Since I have duel channels it makes it all the more difficult to bring them together at the same time. I know the arm movements help it reach my hands faster, but it's not a solution Oji wants me to find."

She nodded to this of course. "What Ryomen is trying to say is that you need more than one method, take into consideration what if you were down a hand?" she asked.

"Down a hand?"

"In battle, you can lose limbs. I taught you reverse jujutsu so you will be fine on that, however, if you are using hand movements and one gets taken away, you have half your power."

"I didn't think of that…"

"Besides, sorcerers with duel channels shouldn't have one power reserved in either side. It is just the only way you learned how to control it, if anything. We have to bridge that. Duel channels are only good for those who have two sets of arms like your Oji." She said and giggled. "I love it when you kids call him that, he cringes a little but appears to be getting use to it…"

"How do I make my channels into one?" Shin asked.

"Lots of meditation, and it's quite painful." She warned. "For you have to fuse these two channels together within yourself. This time, you need to speak with Ryomen on that. He has seen it done, and no one here has a method."

He agreed and thanked her for her time. "Auntie… we're going to be okay, right?" he asked of her.

Chusi smiled. "When this is all said and done, we're going to be far stronger from it!"

That was three weeks ago.

By the end of the month…

Shin was getting closer to mastering his method. However, he has hit a wall once more, being unable to call on his full potential.

"Your aunt has been helping you, hasn't she?"

It was the end of the month and Oji was peering over Shin's progress. He has been able to merge his channels together, very painfully. But, when he has done so, he lost the ability to call on his technique with hand movements. "I… was able to summon it within 15 seconds, but I couldn't progress any farther than that. Auntie taught me how to merge my channels together, but after that, I lost the technique of hallow purple… I have to start over again!" Shin protested.

Oji stared at him, he looked over him every which way, but, there was a nod of approval!

"Indeed, you did that within a month… I've seen sorcerers unable to do what you have done at an early age. Many are old and grey by the time they master that… if at all."

"But my technique…"

"You are aware of your abilities, now it is your task to find it again. But, keep my words in mind. I want you to summon this in less than ten seconds. And also…" he tapped Shin's back. "Open your other eyes"

He froze to this, Shin has dreaded the day he has to use those eyes, since, he felt rather uncomfortable with them. "Like it or not, that's part of your power, use everything you have!" Oji ordered him.

Shin sighed and nodded to this.

"Good, now, you know what to do. I'll get to work on your sister next."
