Chapter 15: Sports Festival Begins
Everyone continued their training for the Sports Festival. Shen and Rumi were training in hand to hand combat, Ochako was practicing with her quirk while Izumi and Melissa trained together. The day of reckoning was soon here. The Sports Festival. People were walking into the stadium to see the action of the future pro was meditating while sitting down. He sensed that Shen was coming into the room.
"Hey Shen," Izuku said.
"Seriously how does that Izuku tingle of yours work?"
"Don't call it that," Izuku said, "And honestly I don't know."
"Well I'll bet all the heroes here will ask you to do an internship with them."
"We'll see, I still gotta prove myself," Izuku said.
Shen looked around to try and find Eri.
"Where's Eri?" he asked.
"She's with my parents," Izuku said.
He turned to his left and noticed Katsuki and Tomo were staring each other down.
"What the fuck are you looking at, Ryukyu wannabe?!" Katsuki asked.
"Oh, just another Hiroshima incident." Tomo told him.
"You did NOT just go there!" Atonus said.
"Uhhhh what's going on with those two?" Izuku asked, concerned for his friend.
"I don't know. But I think they're not too friendly with each other right now." Ochako said.
"Pretty much," Shen said.
Katsuki had some explosives in his hand as he glared at Tomo.
Camie then jumped in between the two.
"Now, guys! Wait later to beat the shit out of each other!" Camie told them.
"It's not like spiky head could even hurt me with those pop rocks." Tomo taunted.
"WHAT'D YOU CALL ME!?" Katsuki shouted as he lunged at him.
Tomo then back handed him across the face, sending him flying towards a table.
"Wanna try that again, sparky!" Tomo told him. Katsuki then got back up.
"Bakubae. Wait!" Camie shouted.
"Kari, please don't start fighting," Kendo said.
"Tell it to your floating dragon Jesus here!" Katsuki said.
"My grandma hits harder than you," Tomo said.
"You got nothing but insults, don't you! A tired little- OOF!" Katsuki interrupted him as he threw a stun grenade which only seemed to have stung him as he hissed.
"Oh, trying to be edgy now, huh? Why don't you shut up and- HURK!" Tomo then interrupted Katsuki's sentence by dashing towards him and socking him across the face, having him spin around before he hit the floor.
At this, Katsuki got back up and was about to attack Tomo once again. Katsuki tried to attack him but Tomo easily swiped his attacks as explosions went past Tomo's face and hitting whatever was begind Tomo. Tomo then grabbed both of Katsuki's wrists and head butted him as hard as he possibly could.
"That's QUITE enough you two!" Camie snapped making both of them stop, "Now look. We're gonna act like good students, get along and have fun in this Sports Festival right now, do you hear me?"
"Yes..." Katsuki and Tomo said.
"DO YOU HEAR ME?!" Camie asked once more, this time with a demon voice
"Oh quit acting like a drill sergeant. I already answered." Tomo said.
"He meant to say YES SIR!" Atonus yelled out. Tomo facepalmed.
"I'M A WOMAN!" Shouted Camie.
Katsuki and Tomo fell back in a comedic style.
"YES MA'AM!"
"Good!" Camie said as she walked away.
"Eat shit and die." Katsuki told Tomo.
"Yes. Fuck you." Tomo replied.
All of Class 1A and 1B was starting to walk out to the stadium. Izuku began to follow them, but then he sensed someone.
"You shouldn't be here," he began, "Hisashi."
Hisashi was surprised, because he sensed him, and because he called him by his name.
"When did you start calling me that? I'm your father." Hisashi said.
"I don't have time for this, Hisashi!" Izuku told him.
He then started to walk away.
"Izuku Midoriya, I will not tolerate you disrespecting me," he said, "A good son would show his father the proper respect."
"That's Izuku Yagi to you." Izuku said, "Furthermore, a better father would deserve it."
"Izuku I don't understand why you're acting so cold," Hisashi said.
"Because you sent me to that orphanage all those years ago," Izuku said, "You abandoned me, just because I was quirkless."
"Izuku I was doing you a favor," Hisashi said, "You would never make it in the hero world without a quirk. You need to grow up and face-"
"I don't have to listen to anything you tell me," Izuku said, "You don't own me."
"Izuku do not raise your voice to me!" Hisashi snapped, getting angry.
"You don't have the right to tell me what to do," Izuku said, "And FYI, I managed to get myself a quirk."
Hisashi was surprised by this.
"Before I got the quirk, I found these rings. I almost didn't think I was gonna be a hero myself and nearly gave that dream up, but then All Might, of all people, looked me in the eye and told me that anyone, quirk or no quirk could be a hero. He and Magnetic took me in, and raised me alongside their daughter, giving me all the love and affection I deserved as a kid, but I didn't get it from you, because you sent me to foster care. You were so bothered by the fact that a quirkless kid would ruin your reputation as a great detective. But the Yagis welcomed me into their family with open arms, and even trained me to be a hero with or without a quirk. My quirk just happened to come late, but I rarely use it as much. I plan to show the world that quirks are nothing more than a fad, and a true hero wouldn't depend on such a thing. All Might said I could inspire people to do the same. He's more of a father than you EVER were!"
SLAP
Hisashi was enraged at Izuku for speaking to him that way, and smacked him hard in the face.
"HOW DARE YOU SPEAK IN THAT TONE! The Yagi's may be raising you but it is MY blood running through your veins! NOT THEIRS!"
Izuku punched Hisashi so hard he landed through 10 walls
Earlier
"WELCOME EVERYONE, TO THE UA SPORTS FESTIVAL!" Midnight shouted with skimpy hero costume.
"Doesn't she know that children are watching this?" Tokoyami asked as he pinched his beak.
"Hey. Wears Deku? Wasn't he following us?" Ochako asked.
"And now! A speech from our representative, Izuku Mi-" Before Midnight could finish that sentence, someone crashed through the wall. Everyone saw that it was Hisashi as Izuku walked out of said wall.
"What just happened?" Midnight asked.
"Oh nothing. But someone should really take the trash out." Izuku said, pointing his thumb towards Hisashi.
Some security guards picked up Hisashi and carried him out of the stadium so he wouldn't cause any trouble.
"Well, without further adieu, our class representative Izuku Yagi will make an opening speech!" Midnight said, motioning for Izuku to walk up to the podium.
Izuku took the microphone.
"For years, I've learned one thing. Not all men are created equal," Izuku started, "I learned that the day I wa diagnosed as quirkless. I almost gave up the dream of being a hero after 4 years of bullying and neglect, but then one of my idols, All Might, the symbol of peace looked me in the eye, telling me that I can be a hero, especially with these rings."
He held his hands high showing off the 10 rings that he had.
"Inspired by his words, I trained my entire life with the rings, coming up with fighting moves, and evasive moves, and then my quirk came," Izuku continued, "Some of us may not have been born with quirks, but there's no law that stops us from trying to become heroes without quirks. So to those who feel like giving up, don't. Because quirk or no quirk, you CAN be a hero, so show the world that You. Are. HERE!"
The entire stadium erupted in cheers.
"He's quite the motivational speaker isn't he?" Rumi asked.
"I'll say," Izumi commented.
The first event was up. It was race around an obstacle course.
"Ready…. Set…. go!" Midnight said, waving her flag.
All the students started running. Shoto started skating on ice, while Shen did some moon jumps. Rumi saw him and smirked.
"Not bad Shen, but I won't lose to you,"
She started running at high speeds. Makes sense because she was a rabbit. Izuku activated Full Cowling at 5%, believing it would be enough for this round.
"And the racers start going!" Present Mic said, "They're all going fast, but there can only be one winner!"
Izuku was picking up speed. He then did a long jump, using the rings to boost his momentum. Meanwhile Melissa started flying to catch up with the others. After a few minutes, the students came at their first obstacle. A robot armada.
"Where does the school get funding for these things?" Momo asked.
Izuku jumped at the robots, rings at the ready. Some robots started throwing objects. Izuku swung his arms around, while telepathically controlling the rings, making a barrier protecting himself. He then jumped up and did a falling kick to the ground, emitting a shockwave, knocking the robots out of his way. He then grabbed one robot and threw it at another group of robots.
"Time to kick some shiny metal ass!" Rumi said.
She kicked a robot with her strong legs, then did a spinning kick, similar to that of Chun-Li from Street Fighter. Shen noticed this and smiled.
"Someone spends their time playing Street Fighter!" he said.
Izumi was running to catch up with the others. She then saw some robots aiming for Melissa.
"Mel watch out!"
She decided to try out one of her new ultimate moves. Due to the nature of her quirk, she can also repel blasts of air. She did a few rapid punches emitting blasts of air, knocking the robots out of Melissa's path. Melissa saw this and smiled.
"Thanks for the assist!" she said.
Another obstacle was coming up, and it had a lot of pits. Students like Tsu or Ochako could beat this part with ease. Tomo started flying ahead of the other students. Izumi decided to catch up with them.
"Oh no you don't!" she said.
Putting her hands behind her, she repelled blasts of air to pick up speed and caught up with Tomo, and the two of them were neck to neck. Izuku was watching his sister go to town with the other competitors.
"You're gonna go far," Izuku said.
The two of them made it to the finish line. And the winner was….
"IZUMI YAGI TAKES FIRST PLACE!" Midnight said.
Izuku, Ochako, Katsuki and Shoto followed shortly after.
"Dang, she's tough," KAtsuki said.
"I'll say," Ochako commented.
