"I think you should learn my sword style and taijutsu." Senju Chijin, or as known to me and my teammates as sensei, said of the back of a conversation about taijutsu and Kenjutsu.

"Sorry, what?" I replied, confused as I already had two ken/taijutsu styles that fitted the sharingan very well, all though I hadn't awakened It just yet, the point still stands.

"Well, I'm aware of how good the Uchiha styles are, but I've always wanted to impart the two onto a student. You just seem the best bet." He explained.

"Why are they better than the Uchiha style?" At this point I started getting defensive. Rightfully so in my opinion!

"Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear. I want you to learn them, master them and implement them within your own style. The Senju taijutsu is an improved version of the Uzumaki style and also compatible with chakra chains." he reiterated, helping to ese me into the idea. "I still haven't mastered my clan's styles. I'm afraid that's a no go for now."

"that's why I'll be training you in them until our first mission." He really doesn't want to leave me any room to say no, does he? "Alright, fine. I give in. I take it you'll be teaching me both Senju taijutsu and Kenjutsu then?" I asked.

"Only Senju taijutsu. The Kenjutsu is called the 'Subayai Sanda' sword style. I am the leaf's only master at this style." He said casually.

"The Swift Thunder sword style? Sounds cool, but I've never heard of it." I gave him a blank stare, wanting an explanation as it sick as FUCK but it might not even suite me.

Luckily after explaining things, I thought it would suit me very well and he gave me the scroll on both taijutsu and Kenjutsu.

Would you like the taijutsu: Senju Flowing Fist?

[Y/N]

Would you like to learn the Kenjutsu: Swift Thunder?

Sensei was eager start. Extremely so. More than me, and my lord was I pumped for this!

"So, sensei, how we doing this? Spar's? practicing katas?" I asked pumped for the session.

"Not quite, that will be coming later on. The first part of the training is meditation." He stated excitedly, too excitedly… How can someone be so excited about meditating?

"… Don't shit with me sensei…" I said standing dumbly. What else do I do? don't you dare say meditate! That bastard Sensei then chuckled and sat me down and placed a leaf on the crown of my head. But it was weird. The leaf I mean, it just felt tingly. I don't know how else to describe it, I mean it also sucked me into the crown of my head and the tingling feeling? "Well done, Shizen! It seems you have a high lightning affinity; I need to get some chakra paper for you guys at some point." He said congratulating at the start of the sentence before talking to himself about chakra paper. "No need to get chakra paper for me, the system I've got told me already. But how does this mean I have a high lightning affinity?" I asked curiously.

"… of course, it does" he sighed "this is a special type of leaf from the very top of one of the mountains in Kumo's Inazuma Mountain range. The trees on these mountains have special properties to do with lightning. This leaf method shows how high your lightning affinity is. It's shown by how many sparks fly from the tip of the root too the crown on your head and also how quickly you fall into a meditative state." He said with a few gestures before continuing "The average amount in Konoha is 3 and Kumo's average is around 7. You got one more than the current Raikage with 15! And you managed to meditate very quickly, which shows how compatible your body is to the lightning affinity. While it's not easily measurable, you got it in under a second which is similar to the Raikage! "My sensei was ecstatic. Shocked as well. Definitely shocked. But ecstatic, nonetheless.

"So, uh, what do I do now?" I ask sheepishly. "We keep meditating until that tingling feeling starts to feel natural." He paused and gazed at me, "this means you'll find this stage a bit more difficult as you instinctively focus on it, though this is still a good thing as it means you can fluctuate in and out of meditating the feeling. The first stage is a part of the second step of lightning manipulation which we will do once you've mastered the first step." He explained. It was a lengthy explanation in hole, but I also couldn't wait. At. All!

"I think I'll get this down quickly because of my system sensei." I stated "Yes, but you also need to get to that point first… I'll be back in an hour or so with food. If you get it before then, flair your chakra in morse for 'complete' and I'll be back quicker. Got it?"

"Yes sensei!" I exclaimed.

"Remember you need to actively think about not focusing on the crown of your head. It's difficult, don't be disheartened if it takes you a while" he gave some parting words before strolling off in the direction of the Hokage monument, probably to inform the Hokage of my lightning affinity?

Don't focus on the leaf… don't focus on the leaf… FUCK I'm focusing on the leaf. This shit is difficult. Sensei was right, I admit that I thought this would be easy. But for such a fast paced and powerful element and sword style, this training is really calming.

Once I've mastered this technique, I'm definitely maxing the body flicker and checking out the C Rank jutsu scrolls. That lightning release: effector jutsu would fit so nicely into this sword style… now that I think about it, it sounds like a foundation jutsu for the tail ages lightning armour? Hmmm… I'll definitely have to look into that…

Due to certain actions the skill: lightning leaf concentration version 1 has been created.

In this version the player doesn't focus on the leaf and instead looks outward.

+1% increase in lightning affinity, +10% concentration.

Huh that's cool.

"Yo" my sensei said while munching on some takeaway ramen, "you done?" He followed up. "Since when did it get dark" I muttered to myself.

"It's 3am kid" sensei said nonchalantly "SORRY! You said you were getting food!" I yelled, the birds flew away and everything, did I say that I yelled?

"Yeah, for me. Anyway, if you're done already; I'm very impressed."

"It was supposed to take longer?"

"It should have taken someone with an affinity like you around 3 days of nonstop meditation."

"3 DAYS!" I yelled again, but louder. Like, a lot louder.

He just shrugged, I guess he got used to how 'weird' my ability is and decided to roll with it, judging by how he just shrugged his shoulders and hummed.

"So, what now?" I asked intently.

"You try move that tingling feeling to cover your head, then neck etc until you can feel it in your whole body." I was about to reply but he continued "this works best on no sleep and little food and drink, so we'll do this till you get conked out. However first you master that first step of looking outwards. I'll give you food for this as it is slightly different." He said, my eye twitched. I like my food and he just snap's his fingers and dissolves my hopes. But luckily, I have a bit longer with food, YEAH BABY!

1 and a half days it took to mater that skill. 1 and a half FUCKING DAYS! I had no sleep, only food and water, and even that was limited!

And after that, guess what. Straight into the next exercise which took 4 days on nothing! No sleep. No water. No food. NO NOTHING! At least my ninja body kept me alive without the necessity known as food and water.

"Alrighty then, you've done very well in mastering those two exercises this quickly." I'll let you have a 3-hour rest to eat, drink and sleep. Then we are into the actual sword style." He paused with contemplative look, as I gave him the death glare of a lifetime "on second thought, go home and rest, meet me here tomorrow at 2pm. I'll then start on your B Rank jutsu." He said "oh yeah! I want the- "he cut me off. What a knob. "You're getting the shadow clone. It's the most useful for training at the moment… no ifs, no buts." He spoke. Lucky for me I wanted this jutsu anyway!

"Hey mum, dad" I said as I opened the door.

"He trained you hard, huh squirt" my dad said.

"I'm learning a new sword style to merge with the Uchiha one…" I said unsure of what he will think. He was surprised. That was expected.

"Before you ask, I'm being taught the swift thunder style."

"I approve" he said immediately. That shocked me, even though I am tired and hungry beyond belief, I could still muster up a narrowed eye.

"Really?" I ask.

"Yeah, there are story's, about an Uchiha in the warring states period that partially succeeded in merging the two styles. His sword skill alone was said to kill off a whole 300 Shinobi. Granted, he was said to be as strong as Tobirama Senju, but even then, a sword style that even just partially combined could have such capabilities…" he trailed off. I for one was shocked again, all I managed to do after that was telling him that I'd be learning the shadow clone before falling unconscious.

"Oi Shizen!" A shout breached me from my sleep, and water was poured on my head. By now I was awake, only to see my brother rushing me out of bed.

"What do you want" I grunted, well as much as a 7-year-old could grumble.

"What do you mean what? It's your birthday!" make that 8-year-old.

"Oh right, guess it is" I think I've got training today though…"

"Already cleared that with your sensei. I'm starting you on your B rank fire jutsu today." He said mockingly. Why was it mocking? No clue. Buuut, I do finally get that fire jutsu from the quest rewards!

After breakfast we met in the training grounds where he should me dad's original jutsu, flame claw, from what I was shown and told by my brother, it basically extended your fingers with intense flames and could be manipulated in length and shape to cover your fist or up to your elbow. Overall, it was a pretty cool jutsu, I could think of a few ways to use it, like a hybrid between wind and fire chakra flow by wrapping the flames around the sword as you can't use two elements in chakra flow.

"So, squirt, what do ya think?" Sakaki asked, "I mean, it looks useful, but I was hoping for a cooler jutsu." I stated childishly, I am a child after all, "This jutsu is very useful when used with taijutsu you know" sakaki said teasing me "I know, but still…" turns out my big bro thought the same as me when he was first shown the jutsu by dad. While the jutsu is pretty boring, it's also very versatile as no hand signs are needed and there's not much chakra build up so it can be difficult to sense which is a boost.

"Anyway kid, you know that training seal you got a while back?" oh yeah, I did get something like that didn't I? "I think it's time to up the amount you can use, you're only using 50 kg of the 250. And it seems like we could double it judging by your strength stat", he said while gazing at my status window, turns out part of the party function is being able to look at people's stats and skills. Cool, right?

I ended up training the flame claw jutsu to level ten before my mum and dad got irritated for not spending time with me, so we then went inside to open presents, where I was given the advanced fuinjutsu book and a lot of sweet foods.

Same Time: Hokage Monument

Knock, Knock, Knock.

"Enter."

"Lord Hokage," Senju Chijin said with a mock salute "you called for me?"

"Chijin. Glad you came so quickly." Hiruzen said with a small smile that betrayed his serious look and rhythmically tapping fingers. Obviously showing his current irritation, Chijin noticed this but decided not to comment.

"I may have to start sending your team out on missions to eliminate bandit groups within the country, they will be limited to C ranks until I've seen a stable track performance from your team" this statement caused his fingers to stop tapping and lean back in his chair, making him look somewhat relaxed. Chijin just sighed but didn't respond, after all, he was hoping to train everyone in his team individually and as a group once they could handle themselves against minimum low Chunin fighters.

"This won't be actioned right away, most likely in 2 months' time. I can guarantee that unless something drastic happens, you will have at least 1 month's training with your team though. After all, Minato's Genin should be able to handle the bulk of them before getting higher ranked missions." Hiruzen said, chuckling when he mentioned Minato's team.

"I see, I need to inform you of something. It's about one of my Genin's, Uchiha Shizen. Ah yes, you came to speak to me about him a few days ago. I must say I'm impressed with how high his lightning affinity is, though it is still hard to believe." He said, giving Chijin a look so that he could see for himself.

"Yes, well," the Senju paused for a second "he has mastered the meditative stage of the training already, I plan on meeting up with him to give him the shadow clone before teaching him my sword style." Hiruzen was shocked, his poker face didn't falter, but he was still shocked. "I see… I'll need to confirm this. Given some time he might be able to decipher Kumo's lightning armour, and the Raikage's improved lightning armour." The Hokage said more to himself than to Chijin.

"I also believe that his parents have given him the advanced fuinjutsu book for his birthday. His fuinjutsu is possibly more impressive than his lightning affinity. I already know why, so don't ask me to spy on him, but, while I am aware as to why this is, he has asked me to not tell anyone." Chijin said. This intrigued the Sarutobi, but he gathered that Chijin only knew because he is the boy's sensei and they had to have mutual respect and trust, while he is the Hokage, he doesn't have a personal connection with the boy other than the occasional banter that inevitably starts when they are seen together.

"Tell him of this meeting, and say it was an order from me to tell him." Taking a guess, Chijin replied "You want to gain his trust?... forcefully?" Chijin was suspicious. Well maybe not suspicious but on guard? Maybe? "Not forcefully, this just seems like a convenient entry point." Hiruzen sighed "Or you could just bump into him when he's training or eating out. Or just meet our team when we are training?" Chijin suggested "I suppose that could work, though he should still know of this meeting as- "he was cut off before he could ramble on, and on, and on. "That would happen anyway, lord Hokage… unless I was ordered otherwise."

"I see, I'll bump into you when you're training his Kenjutsu tomorrow. Is he a sensor? I was preoccupied on the war to look into too much detail on the graduates. No matter how casual I am with a few of them." Hiruzen said "Yes, I haven't seen how good yet, but his sensory range is 860 meters."

"Surprising for such a young child, though he is part Uzumaki I suppose… you're dismissed now, Chijin. I'd also like weekly reports on your teams training. I saw that they compose of the top 3 students, of which all are seen as prodigies." Hiruzen stated before sitting straight and starting on his paperwork. Chijin didn't reply and just flickered away, intending to grab two of his Genin to celebrate the others.
