Andrew sat on the bench outside his local Starbucks looking up the coin value for the day. Before Xander took off he used his one free time travel pass to visit 2010. He purchased four thousand dollars in bit coins. Money was no long a worry for him. As the young female barista stepped out with a hot cup she smiled at him warmly. "Mister Wells your Non fat Mocha with soy and 2 shots of espresso with a whip top and chocolate dusting is ready."

He reached in to his suit coat and pulled out a fifty dollar bill. He handed her the money as a tip. "Miranda you are just too good to me. Thank you" She took the tip from him and smiled.

"Thank you Mister Wells"

Andrew sat on the bench and took in the view around him. The day was really quite beautiful. The sun was out and shining and there was a hint of breeze in the morning air. He raised the cup to his lips to take a sip when a familiar voice startled him.

"HEY ANDY." Xander popped up behind him from the bench. Andrew jumped and spilled the coffee all over himself.

"Jeez Xander what the actual heck."

Xander just laughed and hopped over the bench sitting down next to Andrew. "Hope that was decaf. You seem way too on edge for the fully leaded."

"Got to be honest I want to be angry but I am so happy to see you I don't even care about the coffee or the fact that I spilled it all over my incredibly expensive designer jeans."

"Oh Andrew you know just what to say to make a fella feel missed."

"Seriously it has been 10 months where have you been?"

"I went and saw the Beetles play in Shea Stadium."

"That took you 10 months?"

"Well after that I checked out Woodstock?"

"So you just been using the time machine as your personal ticket master."

"Yes and no. I solved the answer to History's Mysteries. I went back and looked for the Second Gunman on the grassy knoll. I found out the identity of the Zodiac Killer and even checked out the lost city of Atlantis.."

"Wow you are like a time travelling Forrest Gump."

"Minus the Hanks Charisma."

Andrew sighed in agreement. "Tom Hanks is our American treasure."

"Anyways I've been gone long enough and I thought we might have one or two more adventures in us."

"I know why you are here."

"You do?"

"Riley Finn. With Spike gone Buffy and Riley never broke up. You are here to take him out of the picture and put yourself in."

"Not everything I do is about Buffy."

"But it kind of is."

"Look time traveling is kind of lonely and I know you have your coin fortune but I still need my tag team partner. If you are in?"

Andrew sucked in a breath. "Still not entirely cool or okay with what you did to Spike. So If I do this I want to know what the plan is up front. I want all of the details no surprises."

"Okay go get yourself another coffee and I'll tell you my plan. For bonus points I'll even tell you where Jimmy Hoffa is buried."

Andrew ordered a coffee for himself and Xander. He listened to what Xander had planned and he had to admit it was a good plan. Than as promised Xander told him all of the secrets he discovered in the time he was gone.

Andrew listened on stunned not sure what to say. "So you are telling me that Jack the Ripper was."

Xander put his hands up and shook his head. "Hey hey hey. We don't repeat any of this ever. It remains a mystery forever."

"I guess that makes sense."

"What is important. I want to know can I count you in. You coming with me."

"Of course I am. Where would Bill be with out Ted."

"Alright I have some clothes for us to change in to."

"We get costumes?"

"And use the bathroom before you go. Trust me a whole world with out working plumbing isn't a world you want to poop in."

"Good advice."

"Let's head to my place and get ready."

Following his command Andrew and Xander found themselves back at Xander's place. Andrew looked at the clothes Xander picked out. They were lacy and billowing. "Where did you get this stuff Xander?"

"Stole it from Shakespeare."

"Really?"

Xander laughed. "No. It is all reproduction but its good enough to pass for the era."

"So anything I should know before we go?"

"Yeah it's not going to smell the best. On average people didn't have the best hygiene and then I mentioned the whole non working plumbing. The things you smell."

"May haunt me forever?"

"You ready?"

"Let's do it. "

Xander set the watch to Galway Ireland. He set the date May 3rd 1753. "Here we go." He grabbed Andrew's wrist and pushed the button. The insane spinning sensation kicked in and Andrew closed his eyes waiting for it to stop. As the spinning stopped he opened his eyes. If Xander was right about anything it was the smell. Between the spinning and smell of raw filth it made his stomach churn and he had to fight not to toss his cookies. "Oh God."

Xander patted his back. "You got this. Chew it back Andrew."

"Whew you weren't kidding about the smell."

"You remember the plan?"

"I got this. I promise." He looked around "So how long do we have to wait? Where is."

Xander turned around hearing a door open. It was to the local pub and a very drunk Liam, soon to be Angel stumbled out with his equally drunk friend. Xander grabbed Andrew's arm and pulled him back stepping out of the light and in to the shadows.

"That's Angel."

Xander whispered "Eh technically it's Liam but same difference. But shhhhh for right now we are just observers."

Angel stumbled out the door "Come on, lets sneak in and take some of father's silver. He'll never miss it. He eats with his hands." His friend went crashing to the ground passed out drunk. Angel paid him little attention. He took a breath and a moment to steady himself when he noticed her off in the distance.

Andrew and Xander stood in the shadows watching. Watching the moment that was the cross roads that would forever change Angel's path. Xander sighed whispering to himself. "Don't do it. Just walk the other way. Go home." But he knew what history had in mind.

Angel saw her standing at the end of the ally. Darla the vampire who would change his life forever had stolen his attention. Sure enough Angel followed her like a lost puppy. Down the path closing the distance getting closer and closer. He spoke up to get her attention. "So I ask myself, what's a lady of your station doing alone in an ally with the reputation that this one has."

Playing coy she kept her back to him. "Maybe she is lonely."

Before Angel could reply Xander stepped in to the ally behind him. "Really? I mean this whole thing doesn't seem like a major set up to you? I mean come on the creepy dark ally and the out of place lady dressed like debutant Barbie."

Angel turned looking at Xander for the first time ever "Are you two together?"

Xander just laughed. "Darla and I go way back."

She turned and looked at Xander curiously. She was surprised how this stranger knew her name. "Do we now?"

He shrugged and just chuckled. "Too be honest I'm not sure we had any actual screen time together but I know enough of you."

The look of confusion was painted on Angel's face now. "Screen time?"

Xander stepped to Angel and put his arm over his shoulder like they were the oldest of friend. "My dear friend Andrew here has enough Silver in his pocket to buy you more drinks than you could ever wish for. Take him in the bar and Darla and me will be right behind you."

Darla looked at Xander curious. She didn't know what he was playing but figured she could play his game for now. Angel looked to Xander confused and than to Darla. "Is this what the lady wants?"

She giggled at him sweetly. "We will have plenty of time together I just would like to catch up with my oldest dearest friend here."

Angel looked at Andrew. "So you have silver? You have a taste for the drink."

"As long as I can get it in a clean glass." He started steering Angel in the direction back towards the pub. Darla kept her eyes locked on Xander. When she was alone she stepped closer. "You have me at a disadvantage. You know me but I can't recall your face."

"Well I know what you are? I know what you had planned and I know what it would lead to..."

"What would it have lead to?"

Xander just shook his head. "Darla leads to Angel or Angelus I guess. Which leads to Drucilla and Spike and in between all of that it's just lots and lots of death."

"You speak in riddles sir. I'm not entirely sure what you mean."

Xander shook his head and rolled his eyes. "Will you just stop this whole enchanted lady thing. I mean you aren't kidding anyone."

She closed the distance between him. "I'd be careful what you say. If you really know who I am than you know what I'm capable of. "

"Let me offer you the same warning." He refused to back down knowing showing any fear to Darla would not end well.

"I have to admit I had my sights set on your drunken friend but maybe." She laughed and looked in to Xander's eyes. "It's rare to find a man who can stand up to someone like me."

"So what is your offer?"

"You join me. I take you in to my world and show you things your mind can't begin to fathom."

"So just like that? Just like that we give him a chance for Liam to grow old and die of probably something plague like?"

"Well you aren't as pretty as him but"

"But?"

"For some reason you don't smell like them."

"Are you kidding these folk all smell like Donkey asshole."

She just laughed at his joke and once again reached out to make contact. "So?"

"So..? What?" He stepped back taking her hand off him. "The whole join you in your world thing. Yeah I think that is a hard pass. Undead might look good on you but I am more of a sunlight based complexion."

Once again her smile fell and she put on her vampire face. "People don't tell me no. Just to be clear I wasn't asking permission."

"So this is a kill or be killed situation?"

"Exactly. You can fight me but it will be better for all of this if you just accept your fate."

He looked her in the eyes for a moment. "I guess you make a point. I mean I am but a mortal man and I'm not sure what I could do against someone with your power." He extended his arm offering his hand to her.

"You will thank me for this I promise."

As she stepped to him Xander grabbed her wrist and held her tight. "Hold on tight princess." As he clamped on to her wrist the watch kicked in and spit them forward in time. Darla felt the unfamiliar sensation of the world spinning around her.

She barked at him "What are you doing?"

As fast as it started it stopped. Unlike Andrew and Xander they didn't travel 100's of years decades months or even a full day. Xander moved them ahead exactly nine hours and thirteen minutes ahead. As the world came in to view the darkness was gone and replaced with the mid day sun hanging in the sky. "Soak in that Sunshine bitch."

Darla felt the fire on her skin immediately screaming. "No! What witch craft do you practice." Her hand started on fire as her hair was set ablaze.

Xander let go of her wrist and took a step back. The yelling and screaming coming from Darla had garnered the attention of the town folk passing down the street. Darla was looking for anything she could find for shelter or shade but there was none. "Yeah not really in to the whole witch thing."

From the bar across the street the door flung open as Liam came running out hearing the call of distress. "I'll save ya ma lady."

Andrew tried holding him back but he was too strong. "No. Don't get involved."

Liam ran with everything he had at Darla trying to find a way to put out the fire. Her body ablaze he took his coat off and started to beat the flames off her. As a last ditch effort Darla lunged at Liam. Her face a black charred mass but her face still in vampire form as she tried to feed on his blood. Her eyes were red as the fire that danced over her body.

Xander kicked her back and to the ground. "Stay away from her. Trust me."

Liam watched on shocked. "What matter of devilry is this?"

As it became too much she burst in to a pile of dust in the middle of the street. Xander wasn't sure how to explain it to Liam. "Uhm she was a demon. Maybe one of Satan's Spawn? I mean that sounds right for this era?"

Andrew ran up next to Xander. "That was intense."

Xander rubbed his eyes shaking his forehead. "You were supposed to keep him in the bar drunk or busy."

Andrew exasperated, "It's been 10 hours how many drinks can I buy him? Besides he was passed out in the corner and her scream woke him up and he sprung in to hero mode."

Liam looked at the pile of dust still not sure of what he saw. "The drink has caused me to see many things, question many things but this."

Xander laughed awkwardly. "Yeah let's blame the drink. You had too much to drink and all of this was just a bad hang over."

Liam turned to Xander looking him in the eyes. "Today my friend I change my path. I change my journey. Surely this is a sign."

Andrew could see the look on Liam's face. "Yeah well maybe go home get some rest and ease up off the whiskey."

Liam knelt down taking a handful of the ash making it real. "I'm done with the drink. I know this now." He looked up at Xander and sighed. "You saved me from quite the wicked evil this devil would have planned for me. If you had not shown up last night. I am truly in your debt."

Xander sucked in a breath and pulled him up and away from the pile of ash. "Do good things with your life and you will have repaid the debt. Me and my compatriot must take our leave now."

Andrew sighed "Thank God. I really have to use the bathroom."

Liam nodded and took Xander's hand shaking it. "Good journey my friend. To both of you."

Xander nodded shaking back. "Sure thing. Good journey." With that he quickly pulled away. "Andrew walk with me."

Andrew knew they needed to find some where private. The vampire bursting in to flames in the middle of town was enough that day to raise a question or two. Andrew quickly followed along side Xander. "So Darla is dead."

"She is."

"You know if you had done this sooner. I mean with out Darla you don't have Angel or Drucilla or Spike. I mean shouldn't you have started here?"

"Hey what did I tell you on day one."

"Yeah yeah. No back seat time traveling."

With that Xander stepped behind the town general store. He gave a quick look around making sure no one could see them. "I think we are clear here. You ready?"

Andrew put out his hand as Xander grabbed his wrist. "Let's go home."

As Xander pushed the button on the watch the world once again started spinning around them. When it came to a stop they were back home in Xander's apartment. Andrew looked around and smiled. "Holy hell. You know that place smelled terrible when your apartment of all places smells of sweet fresh air."

"Hey hey hey. My place is just fine."

"So what do you think became of Angel?"

As the time line caught up to them Xander quickly crossed the room to grabbing one of the books out of his book case. Xander quickly flipped through the pages opening to the European branch of the watchers council. He pointed to a picture of a man a few years younger than Giles. "So Liam was changed I guess when he saw his first vampire burst in to flames."

Andrew picked up reading the article. "And his son worked for the council and that son and."

"All the way up to today." Xander had a dissatisfied look painted on his face.

"What?"

"It's just. I mean he is kind of impossible to get rid of."

"It's not him. I mean it's his great great great"

"Yeah yeah I get it."

"So where are we going next?"

"I don't know. This whole thing is exhausting."

Andrew asked skeptically. "Till our next adventure?"

"Eh maybe."
