Title: Rewrite the Stars
Chapter 58
(Even though Jason wanted to keep looking for his girl, it was obvious he was dead tired after what happened today. While in Elizabeth's room, Jason was on his cell phone talking to Sonny)
Sonny: "Jayse, I understand you want to find Elizabeth. We all do. But if you do not take care of yourself while doing it, you are not doing Elizabeth any good."
(Jason rolls his eyes in annoyance. Yet he knew Sonny was right)
Jason: "I will sleep in Elizabeth's room tonight and start fresh tomorrow morning. I feel closer to her in her room."
Sonny: "As soon as the divorce is settled, you will be able to be in her room with her forever. I still do not think it makes a difference if you have been in there all along."
Jason: "Elizabeth did not want to be accused of cheating on Franco. I wanted to respect that."
Sonny: "Okay. I see your point."
(Sonny and Jason both say goodnight. Jason gets ready for bed. He slept in Elizabeth's room with her sunflower perfume scented pillow next to him so he could be reminded of his girl)
Jason: (whispers) "I will find you tomorrow, baby. I love you."
***Next Morning***
(The sun was barely out and Jason was awake and alert. Spinelli is frustrated as hell as he feels he has exhausted everything and still can't find The Maternal One)
Spinelli: (sighs deeply) "I-I do not understand, Stonecold. Pardon my French, but…I have searched every goddamned floor I can possibly think of! I have searched everywhere I can think of in the hospital! I do not know where Miss Elizabeth is."
(He lowers his head in sadness as he spoke)
Spinelli: "I failed you, Stonecold."
Jason: (shakes his head) "No, you did not. The search is just taking a bit longer than expected. Maybe it is time to look elsewhere. I truly thought she was being held at the hospital somewhere being that is where her vehicle is. All the evidence points to there."
(Jason decides to take a brief break by getting Jake and Aiden fed and to school. Afterwards, Jason and Spinelli go to GH to find Monica. He managed to find her at the Nurse's Station. They say their 'hellos' before Jason speaks)
Jason: "Mom, I am running out of ideas. Because Elizabeth's vehicle is here at the parking lot, I honestly do not know where else she would be."
(Jason slides his hands through his spiked hair and walks in a circle before speaking)
Jason: "I mean, did the kidnapper make it look like she's at GH when she's really somewhere else?"
(Spinelli is biting his nails as he is at a loss for words, too. Dr. Terry Randolph comes on the scene)
Terry: "Jason, has there been an update on Biz? How is the search going?"
Jason: (sighs) "I am sorry, Terry. No updates. I apologize for not talking to you sooner. I am just trying to find Elizabeth."
Terry: (nods) "Don't worry, Jason. We all want Elizabeth found. We just have to pray she is okay."
Jason: "I'm just so damn frustrated because I don't know where she is!"
(Jason sighs deeply in irritation)
Jason: "Are there any floors in the hospital that we are unaware of? Maybe there is some that have been rebuilt or fixed or closed because they do not work?"
(Terry and Monica think for several moments and shake their heads before Monica realizes something! She raises her eyebrows at her son)
Monica: "Wait! There is a floor that has been abandoned for YEARS because the elevators do not work. No stairs lead to it, either."
(Jason and Spinelli face each other quickly as both men are alert. Jason faces his mother)
Jason: "What floor is it?"
Monica: "It is the lowest floor possible in the hospital. It is called the 'Basement Sub-Laboratory'."
Jason: "Are there cameras down there?"
(Monica shakes her head)
Monica: "If there are any, they are not the best or they may not work anymore. It has been YEARS since anyone has been down there…not that I am aware of anyway."
Jason: "What's down there?"
Monica: "It is a hidden underground lab below General Hospital. Helena Cassadine used it a long time ago."
Jason: "Can I see if the cameras still work?"
Monica: "We can certainly try."
(Jason, Monica, Spinelli, and Terry go to the IT room. Monica explains the situation to the IT guys. After a minute or two, they are connected with the cameras in the basement sub-laboratory. The IT guys attempt to reach the cameras, but are having a lot of difficulty)
IT guy: "Dr. Quartermaine, the cameras down there no longer work. Everything is blank, dark."
Monica: (sighs) "Thank you." (to Jason) "I was afraid of that. Due to so many years of those cameras being inactive, we have no way of knowing if Elizabeth is down there."
(Jason rests his hands on his hips as he thinks. He cannot help but wonder though on the unknown…)
***Basement Sub-laboratory***
(Elizabeth's neck was getting sore from not having a proper place to rest her head and neck to try to sleep. She was exhausted, too. It was hard to sleep while tied to a chair. She was untied when eating her sandwiches. Gag removed when Cyrus would give her bottles of water to drink. She knew not to make a run for it as Cyrus was too strong and would overpower her in a heartbeat. So, she knew that it was not worth the attempt. It was a bit dark in the room. Elizabeth did notice there were cameras around. There were no lights on them, meaning the cameras were dead)
(Elizabeth heard footsteps approaching her. A moment later, Cyrus made his appearance. Elizabeth could not help but chuckle once he removed the gag around her mouth)
Cyrus: "I'm curious what you find so funny."
Liz: "I am amazed you can get around without being noticed. You must be like James Bond or something."
(Cyrus sits down on the chair in front of Elizabeth)
Cyrus: (smiles) "I am very careful. No one suspects me as your kidnapper…unlike Sam."
Liz: (tilts her head) "I'm wondering what you think about everything I told you about Sam?"
(Cyrus scoffs, shaking his head, facing Elizabeth again)
Cyrus: "I clearly don't know Sam as well as I thought I did."
(Cyrus raises his eyebrows at his captee)
Cyrus: "But then you already knew that, didn't you, Elizabeth? Despite my denial on the subject, you firmly believe she is, my accomplice."
Liz: "No, I believe she is running the show and somehow roped you into it. Do I believe you have it in you to kidnap me?" (nods) "Yes. But do I believe you actually did it on your own?" (chuckles dryly) "Not a chance. I know Sam too well, Mr. Renault."
Cyrus: "Please, call me Cyrus."
Liz: "Okay. Cyrus."
Cyrus: "You are right, Miss Webber. Even though I have denied it, despite your insisting that I did it with Sam, I WON'T take the fall for Sam. She is not worth it."
Liz: "Do the cops suspect you're in on it?"
Cyrus: "No, but I have no doubt Sam will give me up in a heartbeat to protect herself. Unlike her, I do not mean you any ill will, Elizabeth."
Liz: (a bit confused) "Why did she want you to help her kidnap me in the first place?"
Cyrus: (shrugs) "Simple. She wants Morgan back and you are in the way. If you are not in the picture, Sam thinks she has a chance with him. She believes he will come back to her."
(Elizabeth's mouth dropped in response. Wow, Sam's more deluded than Elizabeth thought)
Liz: "I knew Sam was unhinged, but I thought she was beginning to accept the fact that Jason and I are together and in love. I guess I greatly overestimated her."
Cyrus: "Unlike her, I don't mean you any harm."
Liz: "If you let me go or let me call Jason and tell him where I am, I will NOT tell him that you are the mastermind behind all of this because Sam is. You have been kind to me despite holding me here. As long as you let me call Jason right now and tell him where I am, Cyrus, I will not speak negatively against you to the cops. I will speak the truth…that it was all Sam."
Cyrus: "You have no proof, though, that it is Sam."
Liz: "Yeah, but YOU do." (shrugs) "So, what will it be, Cyrus? The ball is in your court."
